I just got a QTEK S200 with the following specifications:
IPL: 2.10.0001
SPL: 2.10.0001
GSM: 02.07.20
OS : 2.10.7.24
SIM LOCK = NO
CID LOCK = ??
Its language is Portuguese and i would like to flash it with an english ROM. I have read through the forum and i have all the necessary tools and the ROM itself but i am just missing something i cannot find anywhere:
How can i know if my device is CID locked or not?
If i flash it with a WWE ROM (which i think this is as well but with Portuguese language) it will just probably turn it into a brick, right?
Please advise on this,

one way o finding out if its is CID locked is simply trying to install the wwe ROM, this Will give you the country id error...meaning its is CID locked
also your device is a G4.
the best way to unlock your device without the risk of bricking it is here; http://www.imei-check.co.uk/
then you can install other language Roms.
also make sure that the rom you upgrade to has a ipl/spl 2xxxx
there is another way of checking the CID status but i believe it does not work with G4 devices.

It gave an error but not related to CID. It said "UPGRADE ONLY" as the english ROM is older than the Portuguese one. I guess i'll have to keep on looking
I asked the same question, about CID lock. Noone gave me an answer.

It can be used for checking CID lock status. DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE CIDLOCK WITH THIS TOOL!

yes...this is because you are trying to flash a ROM that is not for that device or the ROM you trying to flash has a lower bootloder version [ipl/spl]....be carefully as this will brick your device....make sure that the ROM u going to flash has a bootloder the same or higher than the one you have now...very important.!!

I was going to pay, but for the CID-Unlock service. Before i did that, i read some more and made a few forum-searches and came up with that page i posted above.
I updated the ROM without paying anything and if it didn't work, i could always CID-Unlock it (then paying for it) and then flash any ROM i wanted

Try naming the VOXIMG.nbh instead of HERMIMG.nbh.
but I really don't know if this can work. most likely not in fact since I haven't seen it described for the vox on these forums..
Sorry I have really no experience in bricked devices. Well I bricked mine several times but usb connection still worked through bootloader, so I could start ruu updater when in bootloader mode and it worked fine.
I have bricked my Vox making custom roms, but have found that even though i can get into the bootloader and run up the RUU updater, every time i go to flash a rom i get errors saying wrong VendorID etc... this is because the rom i flashed had different ID's to the original HTC ROMS. Maybe you are signing them different to me?
Please help!

i`ve made the same mistake (flashed a ROM cooked by me) ... but prior to flash my phone i was lucky enough to use USPL 1.16 to permanently flash my SPL to 1.16 (i`ve used both archives Vox USPL-CID BYPASS.zip and Vox-USPL-RUU.zip) instead of 1.27 (original, vendor locked).
On the XDA ftp is a italian ROM if i`m not mistaking, did you try it ?
try this ... i`m not sure it will work.
Make sure you have disabled the USB connection in ActiveSync:
File --> Connection settings --> uncheck "allow USB connections"
1. get into booloader mode
2. connect with mtty
3. write password BsaD5SeoA
4. try to run the USPL 1.16 now ... (i`m just guessing)
if it doens`t work reset the phone and repeat step 1. and 2. and continue with:
3. write password BsaD5SeoA after that ruurun 0
4. try to run the USPL 1.16 now ... (i`m just guessing)
alternatively instead of USPL you can try to run the italian rom from the ftp.
i`ve managed to save my phone doing steps 1, 2, and 3 (not sure which one worked) from above and then flashed with ARA ROM ... but keep in mind my SPL was 1.16.

unfortunately this does not help because my VOX is CID locked “g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel = FF” and Activesync does not work, for this reason I’m not able to flash any unsigned rom.
My SPL is 1.27.
I have tried to flash 1.16 but the procedure does not work.
It is a way to CID unlock my VOX from bootloader?
Can anyone cook a signed Italian ROM?

if the Vendor ID is the same it will work

If you would to help us you can try to cook a signed rom from the dump in ftp://xda:[email protected]/Vox/ (file name: s710 rom 1.15.408.2 (italian + uk eng + us eng).rar) or give to us instructions how to do it.

I was just wondering, i looked at the bootloader and it says Vox SPL 1.15 so this is the version i am using and it doesnt let me flash another vendor id rom...

Can you tell me how it works out?? I am hesitant to send mine to HTC (i had to import this phone) which will mean i have to pay heaps for shipping... and even then i dont expect them to replace it because the last rom i flashed had a different splash screen (silly me ) this will be obvious to them and therefore wont replace mine because i tampered with the rom.

I need to change rom for changing language.
The device is not CID unlocked, so I need to unlock it, but I would like to not brick it:-D
At the moment my Herald has:
IPL 4.14.0001
SPL 4.14.0000
I can directly hardSPL it and then flash the original HTC rom?
If I decide to change again the rom with another cooked rom I think there could be less problems then flash the original one, isnt'it?
Can you give me a reason for using USPL?

hi to everyone especially the english speaking people i,m having a problem i,m in sweden i bought a D2 unfortunately i cant change the language to english well i know i can crack it and flash a WWE stock or cooked rom ........but in doin so will void my 24 months warranty i dont want to do that........so i,m gonna ask a big favour if someone could just let me use their serial number from 1 of their english D2 phones to upgrade my phone to english from htc english site that would be great

No, you can run HSPL on your TD2 without any worries.

Hello guys I have One problem. When I follow the steps for flash for my new rom I can't Continue. I press Next , Next step by step when I arrive to finish mirror where is the Image Version , there was not signed Image version there was empty I try with "Love Script" and Skynet "TechTeamup_Manila2D_NSN__v1.00_HTCWizard" I want flash my Qtek 9100 G3 with 6.5 rom with manila and touch flow. Can anybody help me ? How I can upgrade my phone to 6.5 now I am with 2005 version. There is System information WIZA200.

What is your native language?
If you want an English WM6.5 with Manila 2D, the choices are CR96 (in my signature) or one of Haseeb's Tech Teamup ROMs. Neither are very new, but Wizard ROM development is mostly stopped.
If you want German, the Cyberdyne is probably a very good ROM. He has been developing for a very long time. I don't know because I only speak one language, English.
sory for my bad English I try to install Manila 2D rom but in finish mirror where is the "Your rom is bla bla bal ... " will be changed with new rom version " rom version ..." and there was have one signed "Your new rom version is : " and there was empty . In readmi screenshots I see there was anything as "Your new rom version is : 1.20.1 " but when I try to install new rom in my mirror there is empty. I was install english rom version with manila . I try to flash my Phone with different rom. Everything Finish right but after hard reset with new rom old rom was start. I can't change my rom with 6.5 . I believe you were able to run RUU and it claimed to be successful, but when you booted your phone, you had the old ROM. It sounds like perhaps your phone is not unlocked.
First determine if it is G3 or G4, then follow the instructions:
G3: here
G4: here
Maybe you were already following the instructions for G3, but you have a G4, so the instructions did not work. Read the beginning of the instructions carefully and determine whether G3 or G4 by the SPL version number.
Many of the older ROMs can still be downloaded, if you go back many pages in the forum. But first you want any ROM. After that succeeds you can choose by experimentation.

I see my phone and SPL and IPL last number is similar as " 1.27.17 " . I read any tutorials and I think my phone is G3 and I think it is CID unlocked how I understand is this phone CID unlocked and how I can unlock it ?? And any worker links for 6.5 roms with manila and touchflo .

Yes, you have a G3.
Perhaps it is still CID locked.
Try following the instructions again from the beginning.

Hello , again. I make CID unlocking in my computer which is with Windows 7 everything continued Ok step by step as in this link :

But in this link 1.05 ROM is missing , I think this unlocking can make with not this rom. I continue with steps after number 4. I make everything and it is finish Right. But when I install new rom CR96 Everything is old. I see again only 2005 rom . I will make this unlocking again on Windows XP . Do you think this method will be successful for CID unlocking ??
