I just got a QTEK S200 with the following specifications:
IPL: 2.10.0001
SPL: 2.10.0001
GSM: 02.07.20
OS : 2.10.7.24
SIM LOCK = NO
CID LOCK = ??
Its language is Portuguese and i would like to flash it with an english ROM. I have read through the forum and i have all the necessary tools and the ROM itself but i am just missing something i cannot find anywhere:
How can i know if my device is CID locked or not?
If i flash it with a WWE ROM (which i think this is as well but with Portuguese language) it will just probably turn it into a brick, right?

one way o finding out if its is CID locked is simply trying to install the wwe ROM, this Will give you the country id error...meaning its is CID locked
also your device is a G4.
the best way to unlock your device without the risk of bricking it is here; http://www.imei-check.co.uk/
then you can install other language Roms.
also make sure that the rom you upgrade to has a ipl/spl 2xxxx
there is another way of checking the CID status but i believe it does not work with G4 devices.

I asked the same question, about CID lock. Noone gave me an answer.

It can be used for checking CID lock status. DO NOT TRY TO REMOVE CIDLOCK WITH THIS TOOL!

yes...this is because you are trying to flash a ROM that is not for that device or the ROM you trying to flash has a lower bootloder version [ipl/spl]....be carefully as this will brick your device....make sure that the ROM u going to flash has a bootloder the same or higher than the one you have now...very important.!!

I was going to pay, but for the CID-Unlock service. Before i did that, i read some more and made a few forum-searches and came up with that page i posted above.
I updated the ROM without paying anything and if it didn't work, i could always CID-Unlock it (then paying for it) and then flash any ROM i wanted

I read the entire post. It is NOT a CID unlock, basically the guy just ran aWizard and ignored the error of CID unlock error. The screen says CID unlock success, but it doesnt really unlock CID. rest explains what roms he used to update his O2 xda. Mostly are in Simplified Chinese ROM. Nothing special or new in that post. Search is still on.

If you want to install a new ROM then there is no need to unlock CID. This procedure explains a method for updating all components except IPL/SPL on a Wizard. The same procedure and the same tools in the document can be used on a Prophet.
Pay attention to the warnings on the first page though. The procedure is not trivial so make sure you know what you are doing before you actually do it!

Yep! Works well, as long as you try AKU2.x or better for the OS module. It didn't work with i-mate's old 1.2 ROM for JAMin but that just confirms what the article says. Everything else I've tried so far worked.

Enough simple and with no unpgrading problems!
Now I have Italian rom on my device!

Yes that rom and the configuration is the SAME of K-Jam (i had a 02 Mini S before thiefed :-(( )

Probably I made something wrong, my device is DEAD!!! I have been severals hours to fix it but no way.

You have missmatch in IPL and SPL version.
Your IPL is corresponding to DOC G3, but SPL DOC G4.
This should not be the case. What was your original DOC?
Do you have USB connection when in rainbow screen?

I just finish to download the Dopod 818 Pro Rom stop at bootloader fix but now the problem is getting biger, I mean, the battery is empty, so I can not charge the device with the USB or AC cable. I have to find a battery to try with this Rom. Or go to the technical support and try to fix it.
The screen is on and of by it self efvery couple minutes (just for a while)
Finally I got a charged battery from my brothyer and I started to download the mentioned rom, but at 80% stop, I get an error message.
ERROR 326 Invalid Command. This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA Phoen. Please check your NBF.
How could I do? Suggestions???

I don't mind this being WWE instead than Spanish, but I got several problems:
Hang during install after first reboot. (after every Hard Reset)
Not all programs installed.
Not all installed programs running.
Some other minor glitches.
I moved from 2.15 ESP Rom (Vodafone) wich I was unable to extract.
Does anyone knows were to find my "old" rom?
I downloaded 2.13 from imateclub but refuses to install: "this nbf file is not for your device, get a newer one".

First, is your CID unlock?
Second, your device have a G4 chip, so you can not be able to install an older version, I mean, If you have a 2.15.0001 you can not be able to install a Rom for a Sapnish Qtek 2.09.0000 or like JAMin by i-mate 2.13.0000.
About where you can find your original rom, I invite you to find it on XDA-Wiki, after you log in under your nick or make a Dump Rom from other device like yours.

I'm unsure if this is CID unlocked, it is SIM unlocked now, will check for the CID issue. Though I assume that being able to install other 2.15 rom (dopòd) means it is already CID unlocked too....¿?
I was afraid the "downgrading" has to be done in the same version range. (2.15)

The wiki site is a real mess actually, with no trace of usefull info specific for the prophet. (Sorry to say) Just a couple of ROM's some not working.

Since my device is a G4, and it is impossible to unlock it by any other free solutions. So, I am wondering if I should give it a try with this website?
Actually, I have no problem upgrading to other ROM (like the recent QTEK WWE) with no-vendor ID RUU. But every time when I wanted to try a new ROM, I was kind of nervous and was afriad to brick my phone. CID unlock will certainly ease my mind and give me advantages and brave to try more ROMs.
I am sure a free solution for this is on its way and won't take long.
I can use my prophet with different operators. This means that my pda' s sim is unlocked! How can i know that my pda's CID is unlocked?
If you have a G4 (ipl ending with .0001) then it's not unlocked. (sim lock is not cid lock as you probably already figured hehe )
If you have a G3 however it's probably not unlocked too, but you have check the wiki how to unlock it. Maybe there is some infor there too how to check if it's unlocked yes or no? Since I have a G4 I don't know that
Back on topic, I dunno if it's worth the money to CID unlock a phone there. It could be handy if you do a lot of upgrading and want to downgrade or anything.
But as said, people are already busy with a free solution to CID unlock a G4, cause if they can do it we should be able to get around it too

I guess you are right. But do you know if people are still working on G4 unlocking? It's been a long time. I thought they have given up already.
Well, I have absolutely no idea to be honest But I just assume they do since it's pretty important with all the rom upgrading going around.
It would be perfect if you upgrade with a not so good rom etc and I guess developers of homecooked roms would like it too.

The protocol was proposed by Looking Glass, so, all the credits should go to him. I modified a little bit based on his procedure as following,
- Decompress and run the exe file (RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe). Don't close your grey installing window.
- Locate the just created temporary directory, something like:
C:\Documents and settings\username\local settings\temp\rarXX , or pftxx or the like (look by time/date, it's, something created one minute before your current time)
- Copy the full directory and contents to somewhere else in your PC.
- Close the still opened grey window
- get ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe from the forum, and copy to the directory you just moved to your pc (You can get it from the ftp). Copy the ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe to your "new" directory, replace the original ROMUpdateUtility.exe.
- from this "new" directory you copied in your PC, execute ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe
That's it. Simple and easy.

Sorry I have really no experience in bricked devices. Well I bricked mine several times but usb connection still worked through bootloader, so I could start ruu updater when in bootloader mode and it worked fine.
I have bricked my Vox making custom roms, but have found that even though i can get into the bootloader and run up the RUU updater, every time i go to flash a rom i get errors saying wrong VendorID etc... this is because the rom i flashed had different ID's to the original HTC ROMS. Maybe you are signing them different to me?
Please help!

i`ve made the same mistake (flashed a ROM cooked by me) ... but prior to flash my phone i was lucky enough to use USPL 1.16 to permanently flash my SPL to 1.16 (i`ve used both archives Vox USPL-CID BYPASS.zip and Vox-USPL-RUU.zip) instead of 1.27 (original, vendor locked).
On the XDA ftp is a italian ROM if i`m not mistaking, did you try it ?
try this ... i`m not sure it will work.
Make sure you have disabled the USB connection in ActiveSync:
File --> Connection settings --> uncheck "allow USB connections"
1. get into booloader mode
2. connect with mtty
3. write password BsaD5SeoA
4. try to run the USPL 1.16 now ... (i`m just guessing)
if it doens`t work reset the phone and repeat step 1. and 2. and continue with:
3. write password BsaD5SeoA after that ruurun 0
4. try to run the USPL 1.16 now ... (i`m just guessing)
alternatively instead of USPL you can try to run the italian rom from the ftp.
i`ve managed to save my phone doing steps 1, 2, and 3 (not sure which one worked) from above and then flashed with ARA ROM ... but keep in mind my SPL was 1.16.

unfortunately this does not help because my VOX is CID locked “g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel = FF” and Activesync does not work, for this reason I’m not able to flash any unsigned rom.
My SPL is 1.27.
I have tried to flash 1.16 but the procedure does not work.

if the Vendor ID is the same it will work

If you would to help us you can try to cook a signed rom from the dump in ftp://xda:[email protected]/Vox/ (file name: s710 rom 1.15.408.2 (italian + uk eng + us eng).rar) or give to us instructions how to do it.

Can you tell me how it works out?? I am hesitant to send mine to HTC (i had to import this phone) which will mean i have to pay heaps for shipping... and even then i dont expect them to replace it because the last rom i flashed had a different splash screen (silly me ) this will be obvious to them and therefore wont replace mine because i tampered with the rom.
I have a HK Chinese language Kaiser and wish to know that if I want to upgrade to WWE or WWE HK version using the official HTC Roms do i need to do any of the hard_spl or CID unlock or can I just upgrade. Basically looking to make it work in english

If your flashing a HTC Rom onto a HTC branded device, you shouldn't need to worry about HardSPL or CID.
HardSPL is a new bootloader that allows you to flash ROM's with a different CID (Carrier ID). If you are flashing one from the same carrier it shouldn't be a problem.
You should only need to do this if you are flashing a Cooked ROM by one of the Chef's on this site.
I think all the above is right...

I believe you'd get an "Invalid Region" error if you tried to flash a WWE Rom to a Chinese Language device? I could easily be wrong though - I've never tried it...
I'd Hard SPL and CID unlock before flashing any Rom's anyway - Official or otherwise (but that's just me).

Now you say that, I would always HardSPL before flashing, just in Case.
