I installed JagerROM 3.2 and it's great, my only issue is that there is no gmail app. K-9 Mail just doesn't cut it for me and I can't figure out how to get the gmail app back. I searched the forums a little and nothing seemed obvious, can anyone help me get my gmail app back?
any help at all? It's really bugging me haha
I know there is thread for it I'm currently looking for it also
you can get it from the google apps
either grab Gmail.apk from system/app out of the zip and push it to /system/app or flash this entire zip from recovery

Gmail is on the market. AppBrain will find it "GMail App". I've downloaded it:
appbrain.com/app/gmail/com.google.android.gm
Found a very efficient solution to get back Gmail
I installed "marketenabler".
This app can fake ur provider once i ran this, faking I'm verizon SIM...the market miraculously changed and now shows all google apps that I was not able to find before.
-gmail
-maps
-streetview
I can recommend this app to everybody who has similar difficulties in finding apps in the market
ok i did a few searches and didnt see anything like this answered.
i have a market issue with infused 1.6
its more of an android issue i feel, than the phone.
i have 2 gmail accts linked to my phone, my main one and the one from work, so i can check email.
my problem. market is linking to my work gmail. it shows none of the apps i have purchased on my main acct. only the ones on my work gmail. if i delete the work gmail, it works fine.
how do i tell market which gmail acct to link too? i have searched for hours in the settings and cannot resolve this issue.
my only fix atm is too remove the work gmail and add it when i check mail.
this issue did not start unitil a. i updated 1.5 to 1.6 of infused, or b. the market did an update after i updated to 1.6
any help would be appretiated

Use menu key, select "accounts", and select the needed account.
did they just add that? i swear i looked and didnt see it. but this was about 2 weeks ago. i had just given up then. the menu button only had my apps settings and more. maybe i just over looked it. funny cause thats the first place i think i looked.
thanks for the fast answer

not sure where to put this... please don't yell at me if this is the wrong place..
the gapps doesn't contain gmail anymore because "it is installable from market". fair enough.
except it isn't. there was a trademark dispute here in germany between google and some jerk over "G-Mail" a while back (gmail had to be called googlemail for years). maybe it's because of this but the gmail app doesn't show up when i search for it with the phone.
via the website i get "not available in your country". i tried all sorts of vpn and proxy hacks with wiped cache and dalvik already but google seems to know the original location of the phone...
i use a gmail apk i found floating around the web but this leaves me with the feeling that my email gets rerouted through china as well furthermore it is not possible to update it via playstore. and (reason for this post) it has synching issues lately. sometimes the mail arrives a second after it got sent, sometimes hours later, sometimes not at all, so i have to check manually which is annoying. so...
is there a way to install gmail as it is meant to be?
Gmail app missing CM7/CM9
I had the same issue. from my tablet (germany) the play store did not show any results for gmail or gmail.apk etc. This is due to the issues you outlined.
However, when i went to the market from PC, it found gmail.apk and i could install to another device direct from there. Now it all works fine again.
there is also the issue at : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072076
I'm looking for a way to replace my Samsung GS3's contacts app with an ASOP style app (CM would be best for me). I used to run CM but through a long story my phone was returned to stock and had the 4.3 OTA installed on it. I'm stuck now.
I managed to replace the Samsung Email app with the CM 10.2 version of same and thanks to Google releasing their Calendar app on the Play Store I just disabled S Planner (hate it) and use that. The only one left is the god-awful contacts app. I tried using the same process I did for the email app, which was to wipe data and remove the Samsung email apps accounts and then use Titanium Backup to uninstall it. I then went and put the Email.apk file from CyanogenMod 10.2 in its place. Worked like a charm for email but the contacts app keeps telling me there is an error with the package when I do this.
I also tried using both Contacts.apk and ContactsProvider.apk but that didn't work either. Anyone have an ideas? The problem is no matter what I do the system won't recognize Contacts.apk as an app and list it.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm pretty sure the contacts app relies on the phone app as well to work properly. You might be better off trying to find a contacts app from the store that is similar to CM
Hey Guys,
I have the latest gmail app on my nexus 4, running Android 4.4.3 KitKat. I am unable to download any attachments through the app, and it is beginning to bother me. I have had this issue over the past gmail app versions, and from 4.4.2 KitKat also. Pictures say they can't load, and any other files fail to download, and retrying doesn't help. A workaround that I can use now is saving everything i need to Google drive from within the gmail app, and accessing them from another app, but this isn't a permanent solution. I have tried wiping gmail cache, gmail data, and completely uninstalling gmail and reinstalling it from the play store after a reboot, all to no avail. None of the solutions I have found work. If you guys Know how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi
I have the same problem!!?? it is very annoying please anybodies have a solution? I cant't open any attachment via gmail app always I use save to drive to see any attachment via my mobile device.
Hey,
I never solved the issue and from Browsing around it seems it happens to some people and not to others. I just use the drive workaround now, because I have nothing else left to try.

Hi
Yeah the same as me, I feel tired of finding a solution for this problem. it is very wired that Google didn't mention this problem or solving it by newest version of gmail app because I found many threat talking about the same issue without a solution. many of member say to switch to K9 app instead of gmail app but the problem that in the k9 there are no categories like gmail ( Primary, Promotion, Social, Forums) I used them a lot because I don't like to get a notification when a new email come to one of these categories except Primary. these feature doesn't exist in another email app like K9.
