just bought an waiting on my wits A81-e android tablet.
im currently registered, mainly, to 2 forums (XDA-PPCgeeks).
my question is....Is XDA the forum or will it be (sections n such) the site to go for tablets also?? or should i look at other sites? i'd rather not register to more sites but im just wondering if i got 2 to get my tweak n tinker fix plus custom roms. i have been on other sites, as guest, but they dont seem very populated nor active. granted this is fairly new
thanks and if not any suggestions welcome
just a lil bump an update to my 1st post...
i realize that apps and skins/themes will/should still work w/ my tablet so i can still enjoy xda 4 those purposes so my question still remains............
will XDA be the place 2 go (or anytime in the future) 4 my custom rom flashing needs 4 android tablets?? if not nor in the future are there any suggestions??
thanks agian

I've been noticing more and more of the posts in the Android General forum as well as the General forum are regarding a new crop of Tablet devices.
An older thread asked the same question, but then seemed to die.

I'd like to bring up the subject again. Would XDA be a better place for those who are purchasing tablet devices to use as a resources if there was a tablet specific section?
That sounds like a good idea. I need help choosing one and that would make it way easier.

Its already there...The Samsung Galaxy Tab found its place on XDA and i found my place there as a Moderator...Well, there is no need for a Tablet specific forums...They are already classified under the company they are released from...No more classifications...

I understand there is a Galaxy Tab device listed under the Samsung devices, and this is nice for those folks looking for information.
Where do the Nook dev's go? Or how about those who purchase the 7" Sylvania tablet that KMart and Toys R Us is selling?
I was interested in knowing if XDA could create a generic Android tablet forum for those of us who have these sub-$350 tablets and need a central place to share information other then having to hunt down a thread here and there across all the general forums.
Since there is a Clockwork Mod Recovery and a AmonRA recovery and many discussions here already with more to come. I believe we Ascend users deserve our own forum now.
There is a few threads that I watch that are Ascend specific that get lost in the Android forums. Having a dedicated section would eliminate some issues. I dunno, I just think It's a wise decision. =] cheers!

Thread cleaned
Agreed. It is getting tiresome to need to perform a thread search each time I come here.
It also gets tiresome to have six subjects in one thread.

+1 once roms start hitting the boards things are going to be crazy

+1 I feel for you guys. Knowing Huawei and the previous android phones (T-Mobile Pulse), I don't think that the ascend will be updated to anything higher than 2.2.
Most definitely I browse these forums quite a bit trying to keep tabs on the progress of my little beast.
+1 On bringing it all together!

I think it is getting a little crowded on that lone thread for my little Ascend...
I can't wait to see what it will be when it's all grown up!
Three cheers to dEris for MyAscend.org!!!
Being that this is the first affordable no contract Android phone in the southern United States I'd like to +1 a distinct forum.
Android at $54/month all you can eat data. Unless Metro brings a more powerful cheap phone to market Ascend is going to be huge. And it's being released during tax season. Everyone is going to get one.
Yea i got four friends with the phone. All of them are waitin for the offical cwm release before doing anything risky. But it just goes to show how many people are jumping on the budget smart phones! Plus we are just now reachin critical mass with the recovery becoming avail. I am so looking forward to all the great things to come. Thanks again to XDA and all the great guys who have been puttin in work. +1 Now give us a proper forum format please.

+1, It's time we are treated as equals, just because we pay less than half than most peoples monthly cellular rates for unlimited everything doesn't mean we the Ascend is any less of a phone!
Power to us!!!
Yeah, at over 600 posts, and with everyone asking for help and what -not, the dedicated thread is getting a bit jumbled.

Jumbled is an under statement, its a mess. Its getting pretty hectic in there, and more people asking questions, topic keeps bouncing around. Its a mess lol

Agreed, agreed, agreed
Hopefully soon, the other thread keeps getting worse and worse.
i can deal with topics changin. Its the lashin out and flamin each other.

We could just make some more threads for now... Couldn't hurt. When I am on xda through the app, I just browse my list of favs to find the thread I wanna check on.
I think a lot of us also just kind of moved over to myascend.org anyway.

Hi guys
first time posting but have been lurking for a couple of years now since getting my Hero 2 years ago (always found the answers to any questions hence not had the need to post and be a pain ). Anyhow got a nice shiny new Sensation yesterday and have put the above mentioned ROM onto it without any issues.
However since updating to this nice ROM I've lost the ability to download apps from the market place through the web as opposed to on the phone (which works fine). I tend to find this way a hell of a lot easier than doing it through the phone.
Anyhow I've reinstalled the ROM after finding a post similar to this but to no avail. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what I've missed or done wrong.
Many thanks for you help
ps I would have posted at the end on the ARHD3.6.5 thread in the developers section rather than start a new thread, but i don't have the necessary credentials to do that yet.

Hi,
Try going to settings>applications>manage applications>all>market>clear data.
thank you very much, seems to have done the trick
Hey guys!
Did some some searching around on this site and couldn't even find a mention of my device. I just recently bought a Huawei Y210C android phone. It is a Chinese manufacturer, which might explain the sparsity of information in English about it.
Anyway, about me, I do some programming in Java, and I want to eventually be making android apps. I also want to root my huawei, try some different ROMs on it and stuff. Now, as far as android development goes, I'm a pure beginner. Does it matter that there aren't people talking specifically about my phone, or can I snag some 'how to root' guides from other devices and ROMs, etc., and use them effectively, or would I have to figure out how to root it on my own?
Essentially, what I am asking is: given that there is no sub-forum for my device, and that I'm a dev noob, will I find useful stuff around here?
cheers
For anyone, and everyone , unless your gonna hack XDA, or blow the servers up then NO! otherwise yes, and you are very welcome if you ask me . Always nice seeing another XDA member. You may or may not know shiz about flashing a ROM, or kernel, or unlocking bootloaders, etc, etc, but that's why there are tutorials to get people started
Everything you needed to get started should be here , welcome to XDA

As far as your phone. You can for sure utilize XDA, I just did a search and there's not really much of anything for your phone, but you can for sure still post stuff you make for it on here . I'm pretty sure you could utilize the 'Android Developing and Hacking' or 'Legacy&Low Activity Devices' to post your work for that phone .

XDA is a great information resource for pretty much anything Android related. Being that you have a desire to develop apps I'm 99.9999% positive there is someone on XDA that'll help you out any way they can if you have any questions. In the end though only you can answer your own question. Joining XDA was one of the best choices I have made and now its inspired me to learn the Python language and then I'll tackle Java lol.

Hi all. I'm farmer. I'm new to development. I have done a lot with the android systems for some time and have used XDA forums for help always.
Now I would like to contribute. As I said I am new. I would like to volunteer to be a tester for Roms for the n900a. (Note 3 att). If there is any Dev's out there interested in taking me as their student with android development, I will in turn use my skills that I already have and incorporate to attempt to unlock the boot loader for att note 3. I have rooted n900a with purerom. Not afraid of bricks. Hit me up.
