[REQ] Super Circle Battery - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Can someone please get the super circle battery found here working on cm6? This battery seems much more functional than the one we're used to. Is there an way to make it a metamorph? The way they're doing it seems overly complicated to me.

it does work for CM6 just got to the section labeled "Default Froyo" and it'll have an option to download the RC1 or nightly build which is RC2
then just put it on the root of your SD
and flash from recovery.
make sure you turn off the battery percentage in CM Settings. it'll look all jacked up if you don't
hope this helped

Is there a version without the battery percentage in the middle? I think I saw one before, but can't seem to find it again.

I have already made that modification to fit Enom's 2.11.3 ROM. I had to manually take out the percentage from each circle to make it work, because both CM6 and Enom's have built in percentages. I'll make a metamorph version for CM6 after I finish up all the colors for Enom's new update, which could be a week or more, depending on if Enom updates again!.
Why wait, install Enom's ROM now and get it on your phone today!
Here's the circle mod for Enom's ROM:

Is there anyway to just get the battery icon without the theme? Morph or zip.

I would like to know this too

i'm confused how this works. in stock android OS, the icons only have 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% placeholders. does this change that to now have many more increments for the battery meter?

Micro mod cheated, lollol... On the desire version it has 5 percent increments, on the nexus one I think its 20. The guy on the desire forum who created it does not want to help the nexus guys port it at all... This could start a war, lollol.... I say we protect our code from the desire bods, the cold war starts

How bout we just make something better? Dont mean to sound like a ****, but a lot of themes I see look like ****e that a 3rd grader did (not necessarily this one). Extremely garrish color choices and just all around ugly in general on a lot.
Back to the topic, true, afaik, there isnt an easy way to make a morph that has every percentage image, as someone above pointed out they go from 0-10-20-40-60-80-100 on the Nexus IMAGES. You could mod the images and just use the built in cm6 percentage which would show all percentages (also mentioned above) But honestly it wouldn't be real hard to make this for nexus, it would just have the nexus/ or cm6 built in percentages instead, and fewer sections around the circle.
That being said if there is this much of a call for this, I can start working on it tonight and have it out by tomorrow most likely. But I will try to make it mo' betta. Now wheres my spice weasel so i can crank it up a notch?

In the meantime, you can feel free to check out the other battery morphs Ive done, either here mixed throughout the forum, or they may be easier to find on my blog.

I had started on doing a UFO battery indicator, but I'll put that on hold for a minute and crank this one out for you guys.

this is running perfect on my nexus one..

Well heres a screenshot of what the one im working on looks like. Its going to change a bit still. Centering those cm6 generated %'s was a real pita. Still dont know if I have it right, but if you dont want to use the one in the OP, this should be out shortly.
it goes from 100% full circle, to 80% (drops one section on each side of circle) and so on until you are only left with one section which is red on the bottom. Dead battery gets a full red ring of death treatment.
Cant say im real happy with the colors, so those will change a bit as well...

Looks good so far, but yeah the colors might need a slight tinkering, but thanks for your work on this thus far!!

Ok, well here is the metamorph for the Nexus Circle Battery FOR DARK BAR. Light bar version coming soon. Need to take a break for a bit...
How it works: The circle has changed to show only one color at a time. It will show green until 40%, at which point the illuminated parts will turn yellow. 20% gets orange, 10% red. 0% gets full red circle. As the colored bar runs down an empty container takes its place. As the empty container is a white outline currently, if you apply this to a light colored status bar instead of empty container you'll get missing containers as they run down. Which maybe exactly what you want, who knows...
Im sure someone will have some problems/suggestions, so shoot them to me through a PM so we dont hi-jack the original thread. If many are interested I'll start a new thread for this morph.

Enjoy.

There isnt a percentage built in, the one shown is being drawn by settings inside cm6.

Hmm, shouldn,t be long at all. Let me know what happens. Are you on nexus with cm6? if so is it a nightly or an rc?

CM6 RC2, NOT nightly still spinning on framework-res after 15mins (doubt its supposed to take that long lol) hitting the back button does nothing.
EDIT: Turns out i didn't have USB Debug checked and it was a problem with metamorph and not the morph itself, thanks tr.slate for the help. The morph looks great.

changing LED colors... possible on g1, but how bout hero???

did anyone ever have the darkdream ROM on g1??
aside from it looking real cool, it let you change the color and speed of notification LEDs... can this be possible on our hero's??
OR.. possible to maybe port that ROM version to hero?
any insight/help to this subject would be AWESOME!
p.s i still have the ROM if its of any help to anyone that might need it
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
xda rules
I don't think that the hero has the hardware for that, I could be wrong but idk
Cant, only orange and green LEDs.
thats what i thought about my g1, and then i was like HOLY F**KIN SH*T lol
remember, the led does green, orange, and red. different variations of those colors could change the led color (ex. 40% green+ 50%red= blue?)
i think its deff. possible cuz the g1 did it and i had the same doubt..
i had my notifications flashing a blue-ish white, and strobing fast...
it was awesome..
The LED is green and red which mixes into orange, thats it. Its already been discussed.
I've actually seen it turn red before, but I don't remember what did it.
I think the low battery does it.
I'm sure you could change the led itself. I've done it on my 360 controller its a pain in the ass make sure to eat a ton of bananas before those things are tiny.
It sucks they didn't include the other LED's. Can't we do different shades of red and green though ?

thats what was done in darkdream for g1...
different greens
different reds and so on...
AND combining those colors to make NEW ones..
changing the speed of the flashing was neat too....
THERE HAS TO BE A WAY!! lol
You guys aren't grasping the concept. The hardware in our Hero is only capable of green and red. The most you would be able to do is change the % of each color lit up. However if you change the LED out for a RGB one, then the possibilities are limitless.
We can't really do it because we don't have a blue led in there. If we did and we could change the intensity of each on we could get a ton of colors, but we are missing the blue.

that's what I'm saying. change the led itself. I hated doing my 60 dollar xbox 360 controller I can't imagine doing your hero but good luck with that

not even when bluetooth is paired? (thats when my g1 flashed blue..)

I don't know if this is the official term, but you would call the LED we have a "RG" LED... Red Green.

lol.. makes sense..
i wonder what we could do IF it were possible to control our ONLY two colors... im sure we get something other than we what we have..
I don't think there would really be a point since we could only get different shades of orange/green/red.
Its only red and light green, grab some paint and mix, youll find out that theres not that many colors you can come up with. Get over it. Let the thread die.
so..
if someone were to change their LED *cough*.
who could even make a controller for it?
i will be taking my Hero apart in the next few days and this gives me more of a reason then just dusting..
im not doing it if no one can produce tho.

Starange things with officiall 2.2...

Anyone else have some strange things going on with their phones? List em!
Mine are:
1. Update removed Aurora live wallpaper
2. Update removed Ocean Wave live wallpaper
3. Boot up sequence is completely changed and acts strange...rogers splash screen flickers on for a sec and the galaxy "S" stays on for a long time.
Some things that are awesome about the update:
1. Phone is lightning fast now, no hesitation within menus or starting programs.
2. Browser is much faster
3. Live wallpapers have much less of an impact on the battery...I unplugged my phone with a live wallpaper running last night around 11pm and even now at 12pm with 2 calls made (short calls) and the phone in idol with the wallpaper running the battery indicator is showing 100%...WTF!!!
Loving the update for sure, but its strange that it would delete 2 live wallpapers lol

And I know that the battery does drain, it was low with 2.2 on it when I plugged in yesterday.
My wifes Captivate has always been much slower with MUCH more lag then my phone and this update also fixed her's. Her phone is actually showing its faster then mine in bench marks now lol

That is not re-calibrating you battery. It requires a few more steps. Everytime you flash to a new firmware, you need re-calibrate your battery or you need to wait a few more days to let battery calibrate itself slowly.

My Aurora live wallpaper is still there. I don't remember having an Ocean Wave one though.
The overall bootup time for my phone seems to be dramatically decreased. The first screen with Samsung i896 is on for a few seconds, the Rogers splash screen comes on for a second and the Galaxy S logo doesn't remain for any longer than it has before. Overall, I think the strangeness is just because the entire sequence is sped up because the phone is faster.

Did you lag fix? Did you lag fix with 2.1 before?
couple of things:
1. Browser is Slower for me.
2. I rooted and lag-fixed and the quadrant score is lower than 2.1 lag fixed (19xx vs 23xx)
3. Some apps works a lot better (google maps loads quickly and doesn't crash, gallery is a lot quicker)
4. Hardware buttons not as responsive.
5. Aurora is still there never had ocean wave.

Ok so in talking to my wife I messed up....
My phone was unplugged from 7am today and right now at 3:51pm, after downloading a battery calibration widget and checking its meter, votage, ect, I have 87% after being on all day with a live wall paper running since being unplugged (the water one with the fall leaves) and my default launcher being launcher pro. I've not used the phone much other than for 2 calls maybe taking up 20min.
Is that good? I dont know...
Anyways upon booting up again I agree that the boot time is much faster.
I think I will run the battery down playing some games...like I need an excuse to play more Angry Birds LOL

Actually, I was quite surprised. I know it goes faster when surfing the web, using nav or just browsing through Market. I did do a test using conversions of the same movie clip in different formats to see how much processor use each needed. The .mkv clips used 2-3 points less CPU for playback than mpg2 or mp4 in both Xvid and H.264 codec and they played equally smooth and stunning on the Cappy. I convert all my movies to mkv now.

[Q] Any fixes for dead pixels/broken LCD?

Ok, so i just managed to drop my phone, not that high, no cosmetic damage at all, after a few hours, low and behold, dead pixels or broken LCD not sure which or both, and it's spreadiing like wildfire.. so frustrating!!
What's a good screenshot app? Tried 2 apps from the market, kept giving me balnk screens.. I've also tried JScreenfix, pixel fixer, to no avail.. Guess i'm gonna have to live with this until I decide to get a new phone, coz im sure having the LCD replaced will cost more than half of the phone's price so why bother.. *sigh
Dont tell Motorola u dropped it and if it was before a year, they fix it for free. At least they did mine.
Download shootme from market. Works for me

Will try that one, if it works, i'll post pics of my screen. Thanks!
**edit: Ok so shootme indeed works, but doesn't capture the issue on the screen, gives me perfect screens as they should be.. LOL! Maybe because it's taking a snapshot of the actual display not the external display which i see with the eye? *sigh!
I had to send mine off to Texas to be fixed. I had to pay about $8 US to ship it to them they paid for shipping back and it took about a week and a half. It was the longest week and half ever too. I started having withdrawals. Lol all I had to play with was my android virtual machine. it sure beat buying a new phone.
Dead pixels is a hardware problem my friend. Taking a screenshot probably won't work. Trying using a camera and take a photo of your screen

Don't worry about the receipt or the warranty card (if you have it bring it along) but they won't ask for it! it takes a week max to fix it! =) also if you are on dexters FroYo be sure to flash to a stock ROM and they will wipe your data so back up first. Moreover if your warranty ends soon they will give you 90 days additional warranty from the day they fix it!

hi, good news for you. I've experienced the same. I've dropped my phone, and suddenly, appear like blue dot spread all over my screen.
I follow advice from forum in my country (indonesia), and it works like a charm!
if you want, please do this following :
1. Pull out your battery
2. wait until 5 minutes.
3. insert your phone into bag of plastic
4. Wrapp it up, and make sure that water will not enter to that plastic bag
5. Put your phone into refrigerator in freezer area, all night long
6. in the morning, grab you phone
7. wait until 30 minutes, make sure every water from condesenation is clean by dry tissue
8. insert your battery
9. Turn on your phone
10. see magic happen
It works for me, i hope i works for you also.
this is my phone looks after the accident

Hey guys this seems to be working, my screen was 70% damaged with stuck/dead pixels. Last night I tried this trick and my screen has recovered from damage. Now there are only 10-15% stuck pixels on my screen. Maybe tonight I'll do it again and screen will get back to normal.
Thank you for this post!
So sorry guys, i started this thread and was not able to check as i've been pre occupied with Wanhu's ROM.. I will try this out ASAP and post pictures... Wish me luck!!!
Thanks everyone!!
**edit

Are you in Singapore? Unfortunately, i'm in the Philippines, based on the IMEI on my device checking in Motorola's website, i'm still under warranty til September.. Any tips on how to send to singapore if you're not living there? And btw, my phone was bought from Singapore it seems as it has a Starhub sticker in the back still intact..
same problem
yo guys i have the same problem too. i just dropped the phone today and after a while the patches of blue stuff appeared. send to warranty?
If you are under warranty and willing to wait for the repair time, then yes send to warranty. But if you want a quick fix, do as above and start freezing..!!

[Q] MetaMorph help

i downloaded a blue battery theme and applied it to my MT... it works fine..but ONLY when it's plugged into a USB.. when i take the USB off (unplugged) the battery goes back to the stock green
why would it be doing this... and is there a fix? thanks
BG
its probably because the battery.xml. its a little difficult to get it to work properly.
Since I've started looking at theming, the battery has made about zero sense to me. There are a few Gingerbread lookalikes that have a custom battery, and it works, except sometimes the battery is sideways and sometimes it's standing up. It's kinda... weird.
Expect actual Triumph modders to figure out what needs to be done to those pesky XML files in the near future, or files in general.

[Q] Eagleblood 1.9 .. got 3 questions

Couple questions about the new eagleblood release, first custom rom i'm trying. Really fast perfomance, and more stable than a couple i messed with last night.
1.) When i press the lock button the screen distorts like an 80's tv turning off. Top and bottom of screen shrink to a white line in the center. Once the lock screen comes up it is fine, it just doesn't go black like it should when i press the lock button, gets pretty ugly for a second. This took place on all of the roms i tried. (CM7 nightly 2.4, eaglesblood, and xboarders), ever since i left stock.
2.) Is all there is to battery callibration let it die, then charge all the way? Is there any built in battery calibration app in there? Is there anything extra i need to ensure good battery life, like an battery app pack for the rom i am missing. (keep in mind i've tried apps like juicydefender, i'm talking at a bit higher level than that)
3.) I went into the terminal and typed "su fix_permissions". but then when i try to do "su adblocker off" says permission denied. or i try "sudo adblocker off" getting denied.
Thanks if you can help. I'm an refugee from the bygon era of iphone 3g, using tmobile hack and overall sucking at life (meh installous was cool). When i got my new G2X i vowed i wouldn't go back to using basement kids code and wasting my time. But alas the battery life the g2x sucks, so it needs external help. also the android community embraces the roms as common place so they get support, while iphone hacking was just that...crumy hacking. Props to the devs good work.

Can only help you with this one, kinda a noob:/ lol.
I couldn't help but laugh reading this first question i'm sorry lol. It is supposed to look like that, have you ever even seen an old tv (tube tv, ones before the flat screens) they shut off like this,
I like it personally.
Example,
http://youtu.be/eR318lz6kJU
G2X looks more legit tho
Ah i see its a "feature" not a bug, well that puts that one at ease. Thanks for the feedback.
Battery life on eb ver 1.09 has the best battery life that In have seen so far. I also use a extended battery. I have a 3500 mah it kicks ass and it was only 20 bucks. There are actually a whole lot of extended batterys for this phone now check ebay amazon doesnt have as good a selection.
