[Q] Random network disconnect - Captivate General

Is anybody having any intermittent issues with their captivate going into airplane mode? I flashed the vibrant modem.bin, then flashed the captivate modem.bin back. Ever since I've had the phone randomly kicking me off the network. I confess I've never used Odin before, and I just put the .bin in the "phone" line and clicked start.
Anybody have this problem or any ideas?

[Q] Odin fail at CDMA modem

Hey guys, earlier today i lost service in my house, which has never happened. I flashed the new EP1Q modems a couple days ago and they have been working well until now. Figured something must have happened with the modem so i went to reflash it, but the flash failed during the CDMA modem part. Tried flashing EE4 modems, same thing happened. Followed imnuts guided to fixing phone, but both roms included got stuck at same spot while flashing. Anyone know how to fix this?

did they actually fail? I know the CDMA modems take quite a while to flash in which it looks like Odin is 'stuck'

might have been a bad file, maybe download again and try over? what Odin version 1.3, 1.7, or 1.8x?

Flashing with the battery in or out? When you're flashing, does the text on the screen of the phone change when it gets to cp_modem.bin?
using odin v1.82. I'll redownload the modems and give it another shot.

Flashing with the battery in. But since this happened i can no longer get my phone into download mode without putting the battery in first. I have a progress bar on the phone until that step, then the progress bar goes away, and all that's left on the screen is the "VIA" message that's always there. I forget what it says though.
To be more specific, here is the process i took today to try to fix the problem (Repeat of last night). Tried to flash EP1Q modems through odin: Failed during cp_modem. Tried to flash EE4 modems: failed during cp_modem. Redownloaded EE4 modems: same failure. FLashed the pit file and re-partitioned phone: successful. Flashed the ED1 package in OP: I get a progress bar until completion of lte modem, then progress bar goes away, screen says VIA reset done. Odin acts like it's fllashing the modems, then fails after about 1 minute. Tried different full odins, same result. Hope being more specific helps things. Should mention my phone does boot into what appears to be stock ED1, but now there is a SIM card error as well as the no service problem.

damn, worst case scenario you may have fried your radio or 4G sim if its not flashing anything properly and you get no service... if its really stock (so they don't suspect foul play) i'd take it into VZ and see what they have to say

Well, took my phone into VZW to have them take a look at it. Luckily, the sales rep. i got knew less about the phone than my little sister. Turns out i was getting a sim card error because i put it in upside down *DERP*. However, it did give me an excuse as to why i wasn't getting any service. Rep. started messing with settings and screwed things up worse. Long story short, new phone will be here monday. =) Thanks for the help. Think i'm going to wait a while before i root this one, seems like my kind of luck to have something like this happen to me.
*Edit: Did some more research, looks like you were right anoninja. The CDMA radio is fried. But lte seems to be working. Too bad the nearest lte area is 3 hours away. haha.
Same thing happened to me on my first Charge. The bad part is that it didn't happen with Odin...it was the OTA stock EE4 update that did it. It installed, then after the reboot, I didn't have voice or 3G service, but I was getting LTE, and the About Phone screen reported "Unknown" radio version for CDMA radio. Verizon replaced without any resistance, but the phone was basically brand new at the time. Not sure how they'd be now, two months later.

Verizons got tons of issues with 3G/4G combo phones and the signal handoff between the radio and 4G sim. This is most likely due to these phones being the 'first gen' of 4G, we are kind of almost unpaid beta testers for it. As much as it sucks tbh I'm not surprised to see how many people have had to get new sim cards or replacements due to bad radios

[solved] - GB modem - loss of signal

Ever since I flashed GB I have not been able to get signal in my work (3 bars on stock froyo).
I used the stock modem in Valhalla.
Then I tried KF2....
Each time I go to mobile networks, it wont even recognize T-Mobile, only shows AT&T.
I went outside at work, searched again, and was able to register fine. I do not think it is an IMEI or hardware issue because of this.
I searched, but did not find much.... is this odd or common?
Anyone have suggestions for this?
Thanks.
I've had the AT&T thing happen before with some GB modems, but only if I am in an area with really really week signal (like inside my condo). I flashed the KD1 modem, and it does work a bit better.
With KD1, I can get 1, sometimes 2 bars if I put the phone in a certain spot on my dresser, and it won't jump to AT&T.
Nice, will try that one now. Coincidence that I had t-mo swap my sim card yesterday. I am on the phone with them now to see what they can do, if anything.
I'll give it a whirl soon.
Well, called T-Mo... they tried some things... no luck. Flashed a few modems... no luck.
Now, it is working. Maybe just an outage here.

NEED HELP!! with cyanogenmod 7 signal problem

ive been having problems with he signal on my phone i used the gps while on a trip and part way there all it does is say searching for signal and cant send anything or call. wifes phone is working just fine. i tried ptting it back to EE19 and it still didnt work then reflashed to cyanogenmod 7 and still nothing.
anyone have a fix for this or any help is greatly appriciated
Are you in areas you normally roam in when this happens?
yes the other phone is in roaming area
That is probably the issue. AOSP ROMs have some issues when roaming. Some do and some don't. If you live in an area that roams alot then AOSP may not be the best way to go.
well im from yakima washington but we were on the way to portland oregon when it crapped out and has the whole time here. of course her unmodded phone works fine
Once you get back into your normal area it should start working. I keep a nandroid backup made and anytime I go out of town I flash back stock. I'm normally not gone more than a day or two. Then just restore my backup once I get home. Price of using AOSP.
also just curious i used ODIN when i got here to flash back to Stock EE19 and selected re-partition and it still wouldnt work
it also keeps saying its January 1st and that its 12:15AM all the time
When coming from CM7 you need to flash back to DI14 with repartition checked. Then flash the EE19 or EH09 build without repartition checked. That should fix it.

[Q] random no bars and data disconnection

Hi everyone, just got the G2X and I did the NVFlashing. Now I have random data disconnections and random no bars. I searched through the last 17 pages of posts on here and could not find anyone with the same problem. Is this normal? I'm still on stock GB 2.3.3. I tried different roms but they all have this random network disconnect. Thank you and sorry if this has already been asked.
near same signal loss issue. help?
new G2x with 2.3.3, working fine for 2 days straight.
Flashed ClockworkMod Recovery via NvFlash.
Then I backed up with CWM.
rebooted, and would have a 2g signal(set for 2g only) for about 10 secs before it would go away saying no connection.
Wifi would work fine. after 3 reboots, it worked for about an hour then I went to turn on Wifi calling, and lost all signal again.
I went ahead and rooted phone.
could not find info about it either, and can't post in development forum...

[Q] Troubleshoot - No Signal

I have no idea how this happened, but here goes explaining it. I was running latest Cataclysm Rom w/ latest faux kernel. I was browsing the web through LTE when I wanted to SMS someone. After a few minutes the SMS failed. Then a few minutes later I got no signal. Restarted, Got LTE although under service state it says out of service and unknown mobile network type. After 20 seconds Got no signal, this happens every time now when I restart. Flashing back to factory settings didn't fix anything. I am now very bummed out. I don't think it's the carrier (aio) since if there were a service outage anyone with AT&T would have problems too. There's also the possibility that the magnet on the name tag to my work shirt could have very well played a part, although I doubt it since I don't hold the phone that high. I contacted Google on their support page, but I probably should look into LG's warranty, which likely won't cover it. So....
How can I fix my radio?
If I can't fix it within my means, how can I get it fixed?
Are you able to add an APN?
Your cache.img could be corrupt. Try and flash the stock cache.img from the stock image.

Hmm. Here's the weird thing though - when I first got my phone to a carrier I would have service, but no internet access when I didn't add an APN. In the phone's state that it was in, I already flashed the APN like normal and worked. But now, it has no signal to work with, so even adding an APN would be pointless if it isn't connecting to -any- network.
I ran wugfresh's nexus root toolkit to run the complete stock process. I even re-locked the bootloader in case I have to ship it somewhere. Watching the stock flash process, I did see it flash everything without failiure from the official 4.4 stock image, but didn't fix it. I'm starting to think it's a hardware failure, since the radio does the same thing every time I reboot it regardless of what rom, kernel, bootloader, baseband, etc. I throw at it (connects to LTE for a few secs, goes into no signal).
What other options could I do to remedy this?
EDIT - Google has already responded and sounds like they could send me a replacement device, not certain yet but here's hoping.
I'm experiencing this same issue you described in your previous post. I think there's an outage in Northwest Ohio for Aio Wireless, or AT&T altogether. I don't see anything on twitter or google, so I'm not sure if it's just me, or it is affecting many users. I noticed it when I was on a phone call with a family member and the call dropped. When I tried to call back, my signal kept bouncing between LTE to no signal, back to LTE, and no signal. Now it says I don't have anything at all. If I search for mobile networks, it reconnects me to LTE and I can surf the web, run speed tests, but if I try to SMS or call someone, it drops my signal again.
I'm thinking the network is down for voice, but not so much data.
Did you try flashing your carrier's radio?
Team Nexus 5 sucks
