[solved] - GB modem - loss of signal - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

Ever since I flashed GB I have not been able to get signal in my work (3 bars on stock froyo).
I used the stock modem in Valhalla.
Then I tried KF2....
Each time I go to mobile networks, it wont even recognize T-Mobile, only shows AT&T.
I went outside at work, searched again, and was able to register fine. I do not think it is an IMEI or hardware issue because of this.
I searched, but did not find much.... is this odd or common?
Anyone have suggestions for this?
Thanks.

I've had the AT&T thing happen before with some GB modems, but only if I am in an area with really really week signal (like inside my condo). I flashed the KD1 modem, and it does work a bit better.
With KD1, I can get 1, sometimes 2 bars if I put the phone in a certain spot on my dresser, and it won't jump to AT&T.

Nice, will try that one now. Coincidence that I had t-mo swap my sim card yesterday. I am on the phone with them now to see what they can do, if anything.
I'll give it a whirl soon.

Well, called T-Mo... they tried some things... no luck. Flashed a few modems... no luck.
Now, it is working. Maybe just an outage here.

noob trying to get his phone to work...

Hi guys, first post on the forums... so be a little patient, I hope I am in the right place.
I bought a used att Tilt last night and it came with windows mobile 6.1 already on it. I threw my sim card in there and it kept dropping signal. it would have signal for one minute and then lose it for a minute and then get it back. anyways I figured it was a botched install or something so I went to HTC's website and flashed the 6.1 update they have there.
RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_1.62.502.0
now it runs a lot faster and except it wont allow me to call out/connect to the internet or anything.
I do have 4 bars and it says I am connected to the ATT network but something isn't right.
if you guys could help me out that would be great but I am a little new to this so bear with me.
Does your SIM still work in your old phone? and can you receive calls(you only stated you can't call out)
does the signal keep popping in and out and the radio signal strength icon (where the bars usually are) have an exclamation mark when you have no signal?
if that is the case, i dont know the fix, but ive had two devices do the same thing. both would exhibit the same behavior with stock 6.1/6.0/many customs and many radio versions, spl 3.28/29/56 and 1.0, and returning them to stock. i still have one of them and was going to return it for service. i thought i might have been the evil radio problem, but it took every flash i threw at it and still had the same problem.
this is all with my sim that works in my two current kaisers/moto q/bj2/bb 8310 etc...
havent been able to figure it out...
When you go into BootLoader (Hold Power and Camera buttons and use stylus to push reset button) what does it say?
have you tried fashing a new radio?

Lost att network...

Okay, all of my family is on AT&T, all of them have poo poo phones. What reason would there, could there be for me to be the only one having cell signal connectivity issues??? All I have is the upside down hanger with the ! sign. I soft resetted, hard resetted, searched for network, and still can't find AT&T...any ideas?????
Okay...I tried it with a different SIM card and same problem...1 bar and then I lose all connectivity...no..wait, got one up---and it's gone...
My wife's phone has 3 bars..
flash a different radio. Try the latest one that comes from At&t's latest rom update. I think its 1.14.25.35 (dont have my device on me). I have that radio and get excellent reception!
BTW, that upside down hanger is supposed to be an antenna
I tried flashing the radio (2 of them in fact) and same issue...
I tried the newest one (the one you referenced to) and I got the tri-color screen of death with a "ROM update error" message...
freaked me out, the only way I could restore the phone to it's former glory was to go back to .19 radio...
still same issue...

Maybe you should get the newest rev of at&t's sim cards. I guess that could be a possible problem?
I thought about that and will be heading over to the schtore today...
Well...didn't have a chance to...but man something is seriously wrong here!!! The phone is running at a 30% signal outdoors and absolutely no signal indoors where before it used to be 100/60...
No one has any clues????
uhhh...desperation bump...
Did you change your dll file?
LOL...?
*goes to wiki...be right back*
The phone did this (with bad signal) before I even changed any radios...
I went back to 1.02.25.19, do I still need a dll?
My advice would be to flash back to a complete stock ROM, radio and all. If the reception does not improve, I would call AT&T, and have the phone replaced under warranty.
First off I love everything all you guys do!! Im not a big poster (because I usually find the answers to my problems using the SEARCH button) but im on this site everyday.
Im having the same problems, everything works great on the phone, but the signal is no good, and the delay when answering. I tried the new sim and still no good. Ive tried different radios and rilphone.dll, but still cannot get the signal to improve. Im runnning the latest Energy rom and the only thing i install is chome editor and showaco weather. Tried the latest stock rom/radio from att etc... still no better.
Are any of them aftermarket signal boosters that go in the back of your phone any good?
I got my Fuze from ebay so no warrenty. Ive been with ATT for almost 10 years, signal was great before they went to cingular. Now that its back to ATT i think the service is even worse then cingulars. Im to the point where im considering dropping ATT for Verizion. Any suggestions?

No signal - Reflashed 3 times

Today my phone has been switching from no signal to signal
and now it refuses to get any signal
i have tried changing the radio
reflashed stock rom
then reflashed a modded rom
and each one has the same result ...
any other ideas what could be wrong?
i get signal if i put the sim in another phone
so its definately phone related
make sure the radio matches the rilphone.dll?
yep
same .dll from the radio package
have a feeling its some internal problem
cuz the sim is fine otherwise
grr
What about Edge?
I had a LOT of frustrations with mine a couple of weeks ago, then, just to play a hunch, I disabled 3G, and went back to edge and it worked perfectly. Sent an email to the deathstar, and they sent back saying they were having 3G problems. Reading over on boygeniusreport.com, a LOT of people are having trouble with 3G. At&t doesn't have the bandwith to support all the apple iPhone fanboys I guess.
Probably not what's causing your issue, but might be worth a try...save you from pulling your hair out.

If this doesn't help, disabling 3G, you may have to do a warranty exchange.
left battery out all night (last night)
then i reconneced it this morning
and everything seems to working fine
must have been some internal static
thanks dudes

Samsung Galaxy S Not consistently connecting to t-mobile network

Okay, so I heimdall oneclicked back to stock gb, then flashed cm7 which it worked somewhat better picking up bars, but not in my area. If I leave town my phone will temporarily pick up tmobiles network and I can make a short call, but nothing consistent, and nothing where I'm living. Had very few problems before modding. I've even restored my original working efs folder. It will connect, but not in my area. Any ideas? I've flashed several different modems, and am now using kj6...nothing working. IMEI is intact and valid...don't understand. Willing to try about anything because the phone is no good to me like this...

HTC ONE APN problems after Root

Hi Guys,
Just switched over from the Iphone and liking the Android platform so far. So in my tinkering quest, I think something got screwed up with my APN.
I flashed ViperOne 3.1 to my HTC One (T-Mobile phone, but I am using an AT&T SIM) with 4.3. Radio. 4A.21.3263.03 with the latest firmware from Tmobile (side note, Im still not sure if/how the firmware changes when flashing a new/custom ROM).
Anyway, I flashed Viperone and everything went fine and updated the new APN for ATT. With the stock phone, I had been using the "pta" APN and got great reception and LTE speeds. With the Viperone initial flash, same reception, same speeds.
Next, I realized I didn't install the Superuser stuff so I thought I had to reflash everything...which I did. On the 2nd go around, now I can't get the pta APN to work. I get cell service (same reception as before with full bars, but no data). The only way to get data and cell is use the phone APN but cell is 3G (>1mb) and 1 bar at best.
The only thing I remember doing that could have possibly screwed something up inbetween the two flashes of Viperone, is that I installed AdAway. Not sure it this would effect anything or not.
I've also tried totally wiping the phone and installing Viperone for a third time via a sideload. I have not tried going back to a completely, locked stock phone yet. Also, tried loading AndroidRevoltion but same deal. But given I am a noob, I am still a bit worried about screwing something else up flashing back to a stock locked TMobile phone.
Any ideas on how to fix the APN issues? I have tried all settings in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2172110
As well as a couple others and combos, but nada.
Anybody? Nobody?
Some more info, I took my phone down the street and messed around a bit at a local coffee shop. I was amazed when I didn't change anything and I got a whopping 46mb downspeed. Haven't really seen that in my area. Still only had 2 signal bars when everywhere else is usual 5. I am in San Diego so coverage is never an issue. Anyway, I then traveled about 10 blocks away to run an errand and it dropped back down to under 1mb. Same 1-2 bars. Something is definitely funky. The phone and data works. talking on it seems fine, just doing any network data stuff is very slow other than that one instance.
