MSN China has just released the official msn application for android phones.
I don't think it has been released in the market yet.
It is free but it contains ads...and yeah
the app is in chinese!!

Suweeeett! Even seems to support sending photos/voice like the WinMo app. Too bad I don't understand a single word Chinese, so I can't even find a download.

Well, I just tried it as well and it's quite good. Even supports real file transfer. Just amazing. The UI can use a little polish but it works. For me it's almost all in Chinese by the way.

Think it's possible to translate it to English in some way?
This app is so ugly, it makes me depressed.
I could possibly help in translating it if I know which files contain the chinese characters that way i could replace them with english.
I'd say the app is pretty good and packs a lot of features which are better than many other IM apps.
It would be perfect if they can polish the interface more a little bit and add call or video call feature.

This is great. I've been waiting for an official MSN messenger app for Android for some time. Works good on my Nexus One.
UI isn't that bad guys...
App works brilliant, and all in english
BTW there is a hacked version out there without ads
And I believe this app was not developed in house by microsoft, instead by "pica", but it still is official in a sense, as it is featured on the official msn china website.

I guess you need to set your phone's language to English. Bleh, I want a normal decent multilangual msn app.
Come on, its time for one. Android's market share is pretty big so why not, MS? Of course! Because it's an open-source system.. great..

Hi all, these PDA gadgets is all new to me so I thought I would start with something quite cheap (in case I am too thick and cannot follow)..
So I got this XDA but i can't really find any use with it.. Most webpages i come across saying that its in-compatible and also the pre-loaded MSN messenger saying that it won;t work with that version( then why on earth is that pre-installed?) also the webmessenger again is not working... nor the ICQ... So.. what exactly can i do with it??

Use a new browser, ou multie or tweak2k to change broswer's 'id' so it's seen as internet explorer for compatibility.

From yesterday MusicID is no longer working.
I got the following result after it analyses music

Artist: Get Shazam
I got an upgrade link that leads me nowhere (this is not possible to go any futher).
Anyone knows why?
I visited www.shazam.com put there are no WM version available. But there are RIM, iPhone, Symbian, Android,... versions...
Any MusicID alternative? (I know that Samsung developped a similar application, available with the new i8000 Omnia 2)

It could be the version you have installed. Someone said that at least one of the versions was tied to a particular persons account, so that account could at some point stop working, but that's just a theory.

I have installed many cabs (from different sites) all of them were 1.3.16 VGA but all of theme gave me the same result...

I have a Touch HD WM6 and I can't find any compatible version on www.musicid2.com
Same. My L26 rom with 1.3.16 on my HD gives the same error.
Would love an alternative version.

The UI fits the HD much better too. The reg edit to make it work from the phones data connection as well as wifi is a bit annoying, but worth the small hassle

Works perfect on my TP2 as well
1800 link seems to imply its no longer freely available, and the downloads gone.
Its available free of charge here and seems to be most recent version, works perfectly on my HD2 without any need for registry hacks.

So i constantly find myself searching for newer versions of swype, and for for various different screen types. so can we start a thread so everyone knows what the newest version is. dont get to excited, they dont let you know of updates when you are part of the beta...and you apperently have a download limit and when you redownload the swype app that # of times your account it stopped. its so people dont shear there account with others

Screen size must be HVGA (like the Dream or Magic).

I'm also looking for a working french version of swype for Nexus One....
I found a version called "/swype.v1.25.15.56122FrenchInsteadSpanish.apk" on this forum but it is not working on the nexus one due to improper screen size....

I ended up downloading shapewriter from the market, it's free and has multiple dictionaries available

That link did not work My N1 wants to swype in french and the new swype has only italian added =\. So English + Spanish + Italian
Seems that swype could now be download from today. Go check their site, guys.

Yea, english version is a must please. there must be one. is it not possible to change the german version in to english. im a bit of a noob so dnt no the practicalities of this. but pleeeeease there must be a english version or another good app sumwer. yeah, this app really looks awesome!!
unfortunately, it doesn't run on my hd2! trying to to start the app, i can only notice a short title-bar-flashing with something like "world cup" as caption, but then i'm back on the homescreen.
how did you manage to run the app? thanks

It says on the site that you need Microsoft .Net Compact Framework 3.5 installed prior to installing the app. My rom (Elegencia) had this cooked in so I just installed the cab and it just ran!

thanks for your answer. but i do know that and in artemis rom there's also the cf 3.5 included. trying to install it in the device instead of sd-card...maybe this helps...
EDIT: unfortunately, installing to device memory didn't help either :-(

Got it working, downloaded it using internet explorer. I really like the UI in this i think it is amazing. only thing i dnt like is that to scroll left or right you have to drag from the top of the screen, and on the HTC HD2 this isnt so easy. maybe for future apps this could address by making a small bar at the bottom to scroll with perhaps. not sure really. otherwise the app is amazing. Wont know if the app works completely untill the compitition starts and updates start to come in.

On my Hd2 is not working and I have .NET CF3.5 installed.
I downloaded direct to my HD2 and it is working (and updating) without problem. Excellent looking app with a great UI. Hope the developer keeps it updated after each match.
When I get home and get the cab off the phone, I will upload here if it is still needed. Cab file attached

N/M, it's not out... Flory stopped their app because IM+ is coming out.... sigh.
What's with WP7 devs man? I'm finding a lot are like that, great app then a few weeks later, take it off the market for some stupid reason.
You won't see much until Mango because the API's developers need to really make IM's work isn't in current OS builds. Flory was horrid, and I don't think IM+ will be that great as it still needs to rely on a 3rd party server system to do notifications.
There is also no multitasking until Mango which is needed for the ability to have it run in the background and notify you when somebody sends you a message.
