MusicID (shazam)

Hi all,
From yesterday MusicID is no longer working.
I got the following result after it analyses music
Track: Ugrade Now!
Artist: Get Shazam
I got an upgrade link that leads me nowhere (this is not possible to go any futher).
Anyone knows why?
I visited www.shazam.com put there are no WM version available. But there are RIM, iPhone, Symbian, Android,... versions...
Any MusicID alternative? (I know that Samsung developped a similar application, available with the new i8000 Omnia 2)

I hadn't used it in awhile, so I fired it up after reading your post.
It could be the version you have installed. Someone said that at least one of the versions was tied to a particular persons account, so that account could at some point stop working, but that's just a theory.
I'm using 1.3.16_QVGA by Lepsyfou.

I have installed many cabs (from different sites) all of them were 1.3.16 VGA but all of theme gave me the same result...

I have a Touch HD WM6 and I can't find any compatible version on www.musicid2.com

Same. My L26 rom with 1.3.16 on my HD gives the same error.
Would love an alternative version.

This app is even better than Shazam as you can sing or hum a song in order to find the author name and the title of the track.
It works just perfect on my Touch HD!!!

The UI fits the HD much better too. The reg edit to make it work from the phones data connection as well as wifi is a bit annoying, but worth the small hassle

Works perfect on my TP2 as well

1800 link seems to imply its no longer freely available, and the downloads gone.
Its available free of charge here and seems to be most recent version, works perfectly on my HD2 without any need for registry hacks.

Install the following link provided, it worked for me running stock HTC ROM WM6.1 Build 20764. Just to let you know this is the Offcial Chinese support from HTC

My method is, first, install the necessary font. To do this, install CE-Star for WM5/6 trial version 2.8 R3c. It can support both Chinese and Japanese display. Chinese input will be disabled after trial expires but Chinese and Japanese display function never expires It needs to be installed through ActiveSync only.
For Chinese input, there are a few options, like 点讯http://www.dayhand.com/ or Sogou for WM. They are free software.

Chinese reading
I am using already some time the following CAB which installs Chinese Fonts on my HTC.
sunglobe.cab
fontpatch.cab
Tested it with stock, EnergyROM and TAEL rom, no problems.
Google for it, download it and there you go.

How about input?
Which one do you all recommend?

I'm using what that have stated in post #4 to enable Chinese characters viewing.
For input, I'm using ZTA4.
I'm able to send out Chinese characters sms'es.
But all the receiver receives is "???????" only, instead of desired Chinese characters.
This has been tested on Sony Ericsson phone as receiver phone.
What's the problem here?
The ROM I'm using is stated under my sig.
It worked on last version of TAEL ROM, but not this.

I am glad that there is a post regarding Chinese display and input on English rom finally. I am a new comer for Windows mobile world. I managed to unlock my Touch Pro and able to install cooked rom. However, I always has problem for Chinese support.
Personally, I would like to stick with TEAL rom. However, after I installed the IME from 小熊工作室 on latest TEAL rom, the screen had been frozen.
Is it possible if anyone of you could share the experiences for installing Chinese support with TEAL rom? A step by step guide would be wonderful. Actually, I just need my Touch Pro with Traditional Chinese display and hand-writing input feature.
Sorry, I understand that it is beginner question. I did try to find the solution by myself, but obviously, I am not smart enough to get the job done. Please give me a hand.

Did you install the full Chinese support from 小熊工作室 or IME only? The cab for IME only should have size only 1.6MB. I think I tried his font support on WM6.5 a while ago but didn't work out (can't remember what went wrong). I looked around and Ricky got the most beautiful font and fixed the Chinese word-wrap problem in Viigo when reading RSS news, so I stick with it.
Then I looked around for input support. All the IMEs I used before don't work under WM6.5 except CE-star, but it requires its own font support. Finally I re-visit 小熊工作室 and tried the IME-only cab, and it works.
Right now this is my favorite combination under WM6.5. I install Ricky's font support through UC during re-flashing, and install 小熊 IME afterward because the installation asks if I want to retain the word suggestion function in English IME. If you install it through UC, the customization will hang at the point the installation asking for your choice.
I'm not 100% positive, but I thought I tried this combination under TEAL's earlier build with no problem. I could be wrong...

Personally i m using 'najera--PlumSIP Pro VGA V6.1.0008.cab' for ime and 'SamauChinesePlus20080310.cab' for chinese support
They both worked perfectly, with any rom i tried. I've been using them since I got my touch pro in march this year.
U can use any chinese support package. as long as it works, there will be no difference, but I strongly recommend using this ime. It is so perfect with a nice skin.

According to 小熊工作室's site. The current version do not support WM 6.5.
Did anyone managed to use the above chinese input on WM 6.5?

I am using his msje-ime cab. I only install 全螢幕輸入 and 注音 ime and it works fine on my Fuze with Energy ROM Akeo. (I think 注音 is required for 全螢幕輸入). It had been not working for couple of builds before, but it's working perfectly now. I haven't tried NRGZ28's new Energy ROM Leo but I think it will still work.

I am using Leies CE-Star Big5 System and IME Leies CE-Star Jianyi which also works perfectly on my Touch Pro with Energy ROM 6.5.
I like it that this IME support the Chinese JianYi (or call 速成) on the hardware keyboard

I got a suggestion over here.
Can the recommended working fonts & inputs being uploaded again directly by the one who suggested instead of asking people around here to google around?
Mediafire, RapidShare, and whatever you can think of.

I've been using 小熊工作室 IME only on the RRE WM6.5 ROMs, now the rRedux WM6.5 ROMs fine. But I'm using Ricky's font support because of the better looking font and working Chinese word-wrap in Viigo.

You have to check all checkboxes on the page, and uncheck the last checkbox again, then all the files will appear as a result of the javascript. The IME I'm using is the imeonly.cab.

[REQUEST] HTC_CIME MOD for N1

Hi there,
I am user of N1, and I am seeking for a workable HTC_CIME that works on this device. As i see, there were already a mod on HTC_IME English KB. However, I am a Chinese user and seeking for a Chinese one for daily use.

What's not working at all is the English (QWERTY) input. It doesn't draw itself correctly. I have no idea on how to fix that. Switching to Chinese input seems to work. I looked up a Chinese sign and entered it successfully. I have no idea what I wrote since I don't understand the language...
Maybe its unusable, maybe not. It's at least something

thanks man, works fine. apart from the following problems:
1)When switching to landscape mode the IME crashes.
2)The list of alternative/(possible)following characters is a bit misplaced so you can not see them all or click the arrow to show more (happens when using kbd/phonepad too)
when using the qwerty kbd or phonepad:
3)sometimes the key turns black afterit was pressed, sometimes the whole input area turns black, even tho the keyboard is still there and accepts new input.
4)ZhuYin/CangJie/PinYin/Stroke input do not work at all.
maybe you can tell us what exactly you did so far, so other people can fix the remaining issues ?
i think top prio should be issue 1) and 2)
apart from that the handwriting works quite well

I found one here that claims to be HTC_CIME.apk rip from a Dragon rom. But I get FC when I try to run it. Maybe one of the Devs can help?

The forum asked me to quit hosting links. But, http://beta.swype.com/ is supposed to be opened/opening up for everyone so have at a legit version!
The version many of us have been using was a trial (which expired this weekend for me), this one installed fine for me with ADB and isn't registering as expired.

According to the swype version in the settings, this is the same one I am using, that I got off the internet. Works fine on my N1.

I am part of the beta testing and received the email today. I installed it on my Sprint Hero. If you guys can tell me how to extract it from my phone. I will post it somewhere for everyone to get. I used Titanium backup to back up that app but it saved 3 files. A property file, tar file, and a weird apk.a file. I tried to rename that one but it didn't work. I am up for suggestions. Also tried to find it in root explorer and could not find the location.

Forget it figured out how to get the apk file. Tried the apk on another phone but the swype abilities were disabled. Unless there is a way to bypass the app knowing its for another phone It won't work.

Let's just get it out of the way now, yes I'm a noob to android. My girlfriend has a motorola cliq and would love to have swype installed on her phone, however, being an HD2 owner I'm not all that savvy with android devices therefore am not sure how to install this prog on her phone. Could someone please help me (step by step) thanks in advance.

Nevermind guys, after doing a quick google search I answered my own question. I now have an app installer via android marketplace and it works wonderfully. Swype is now installed and up and running on my girlfriends Motorola Cliq smoothly. Oh, I also wanted to thank the person who created this post regarding FREE SWYPE.

its not working for me. the keyboard pops up but when i begin swyping it just wont put put any words. if i type them it works like a regular keyboard but the swyping just aint working. somebody please help? i love swype but i havent been able to use it for a few weeks now and it sucks!

What kind of a phone do you have and what version of Swype did you install? I think it matters. I have a MyTouc 3G (rooted) and this version works very well, swiping and all.

Does this work for Milestone in landscape resolution?

I don't think it has been released in the market yet.
It is free but it contains ads...and yeah
the app is in chinese!!

Well, I just tried it as well and it's quite good. Even supports real file transfer. Just amazing. The UI can use a little polish but it works. For me it's almost all in Chinese by the way.

This app is so ugly, it makes me depressed.

I could possibly help in translating it if I know which files contain the chinese characters that way i could replace them with english.

I'd say the app is pretty good and packs a lot of features which are better than many other IM apps.
It would be perfect if they can polish the interface more a little bit and add call or video call feature.

UI isn't that bad guys...
App works brilliant, and all in english
BTW there is a hacked version out there without ads
And I believe this app was not developed in house by microsoft, instead by "pica", but it still is official in a sense, as it is featured on the official msn china website.

I guess you need to set your phone's language to English. Bleh, I want a normal decent multilangual msn app.
Come on, its time for one. Android's market share is pretty big so why not, MS? Of course! Because it's an open-source system.. great..
