Hi,
is there a way to use HTC sync on our captivate?
On what I read the HTC Sync 3 could sync bookmarks, calendar, contact, music, galery and even documents.
A real plus in comparison of the samsung Kies
No it's not possible, the software would not lick up your phone.

I would love a hack for the Sync 3 to be able to use on every Android phone,
that would be nice

Hi,
After several happy years with my P3600/TyTn I am quickly falling in love with the Hero. It seems to have all I need (plus a lot I like), but does anyone know whether EasySync Pro works on this device/OS ?
I use EasySync to sync my (employer's) Lotus Notes calendar, email and contacts with the P3600. Would not want to miss this functionality in future !
Many thanks in advance
Sync Lotus Notes with HTC Sync on Hero
HTC Sync v 2.08 now supports synchronizing contacts and calendar info for Lotus notes. I just synced my Notes calendar to my Sprint HTC Hero. It does not transfer the attendees, but at least you get all the other calendar information (date/time/place). Im not sure why they don't advertise this when they mention outlook.
HTC Sync can be downloaded from HTC's website. I think this is the cleanest and freest solution to an android device. I had read about using companion link and don't like the idea of sending all the data to google's servers first.
Forgot to mention. I also used Easy Sync Pro with my Touch Pro and Mogul. Easy Sync only works with a windows mobile device or the old Palm OS. So ... NO, you cannot use it with the HTC Hero.
Hey guys, I am running cognition 2.2 b9.1.3 and cannot get the Facebook pictures to sync with the contacts. I have the names correctly entered and have manually synced. In the Facebook app however I do not have the sync option like my friends with the g2 and nexus one has.

Does anyone know the answer? I am now running Cognition 2.3b5.1 and still no Facebook sync to where friends images appear in the contacts.
Wanted to share a recent discovery for syncing Andriod and Outlook (I am using 2007). Up until now I have been very disappointed in the various sync options for someone like me who is on a corporate network using Outlook and who has an IT group that does NOT allow syncing via cloud for any software that uses MSExchange server Active Sync, like RoadSync and TouchDown.
I have been using HTCSync which is not too, too bad, the big issue is that it messes up my phone #s like my (919) 123-4567 989 (this is the extension) after syncing with HTC was changed be to (919)123-4567989. I also had issues with syncing some Outlook appointments, especially recurring and also issues when a co-worker deleted an recurring appointment, it would not always allow me to delete this from my calendar. Bottom line...lots of weird stuff using HTCSync, but until now the only real USB sync option.
Add to this, I do prefer a USB sync option, yep USB and MOSTLY doing so w/o having to load a special software on my Andriod phone like Markspace or The Missing Sync or Companion Link require. I only want to use the integrated Andriod calendar and contacts programs NOT something special.
With all of the background, I strongly encourage anyone with similar needs, especially a USB sync option, please check out Andriod-Sync at this link
http://www.android-sync.com/
Amazingly, the cost is $0.00.
Also, if you want to see the various sync options check out this link

Hope this is helpful for the XDA corporate guys that use Outlook, came from WM6.5 to Andriod 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and have been looking for a good USB and non IT controlled sync option.

It is syncing....will keep you posted when done
Thank you!!!!!!!! This should be a sticky!!!
Awesome app, thanks for the link
Thanks
I too have been struggling for MONTHS trying to find solutions to the Outlook/Android sync or the Thunderbird/Lightning and Android sync issues.
My biggest struggle is actually the task manager. I use Outlook Tasks, interconnected with events, contacts and emails extensively to track major projects, etc. I still can't find a reasonable and truly functional option.
If anyone out there finds something...let us know!!!

I'll try that app.
I have a AT&T Fuze (Winmobile 6.5/Energy) that I use with MS Mobile Device Center as a bridge between Outlook on my MS Exchange Server at Work and Outlook 2007 on my Windows 7 laptop & desktop at home. The system works like a top. Lately the display seems a little small however. I've been looking at an HTC Thunderbolt (Android) with the HTC sync application and several after market sync applications. Windows Phone 7 is off the table because of a decision by Microsoft not to sync with it's own product, Outlook. Is there an Android app that is a clone or better of Windows Mobile Device Center? Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks
As for a clone to windows device thinga ma bob?
Check out
My Phone Explorer for Android. Google it.
I have not tried to sync using this other than for pictures.
Re Android vs. WIN7?
I switched from a Pure Energy ROM to my At&T Aria, and now a HTC Desire Z with Android GB 2.3.3, never thought I would like Android like I do, bit man oh man, way nicer than WinMo.
Thanks for your help!
MyPhoneExplorer Android is working fine with my SGS2. I used it yesterday to sync my iPhone data to my new Galaxy 2.

it's no longer free. the trial version allows 20 contacts to sync. if you want the full version it is $20.
Hi -- I am looking for a one-way sync, Outlook 2010 x86 to Android. Do Android-Sync and MyPhoneExplorer support this?
I'm trying "local sync" from http://www.psencik.cz/local-sync.
Another option for me.
Omg! Thank you!
I got depressed thinking I was going to need to return my new Samsung Epic. If this works I think that everyone on the google platform that uses direct sync should crown you king of awesome!

Denied, I get some ADB error and following the instructions they provide did nada, shame the site is even less helpful than the app itse;f as far as resolving. Maybe my Epic has some sort of hate towards me using outlook...sigh...I need my outlook sync, all I want is calendar and contacts. that's it, I got email already...
My girlfriend has a HTC Wildfire that she has had for some time. We want to install Cyanogenmod on it because she has been having some problems with the stock ROM. Unfortunately (not being very techy) she has managed to make a complete mess of her contacts in HTC's "People" app. Most are stored on the phone, some on the SIM, some on Google and then the rest are Facebook for HTC contacts. Is there an easy way to unify all these contacts as I would like to back them up before rooting and installing CM on the phone?
Ideally I would just like to make them all google contacts so that if she changes from HTC in the future we don't have an issue getting the contacts off again.
Many thanks.
try pim backup
I had this to on a HTC Legend from my last workplace. I also used exchange to syncronize job mail etc. Some contacts merged without my doing and turned out complete fail.
My resort was to arrange all my contact as i wanted them on my gmail account through my PC and only allowing facebook syncronize the existing contacts. I also stripped the syncronizing with exchange to only download e-mails.
Now I have a working system that automaticly functions even on the new phone I bought when I quit my job.

has anyone had any problem with their calender not syncing, after upgrading to ICS, i use Go calender, and sync perfectly with google calender, now i have upgraded go calender, or any other calender widget does not update.....
any ideas?
I have Pure Calendar, and it updates correctly - ARHD 6.6.1
Yep, had the same her after ICS upgrade with Google and Exchange Calendar. No sync and after a tap on the empty calendar the phone said htc.calender.*** crashed and needs to be restarted.
I stopped the calendar application and widgets, deleted the data from the calendar application and resynced again (did it automatically as only the calender data was deleted not the account information) and since then it's going fine.
bye
Sven
Same issue and same solution here.

hmmm, just tried that, but Go calender still isnt liking it. I';ve reinstalled go calendar and no difference either.
any solution other than the above? i dont have the crashing problem, but i just cant sync the go calendar with google calendar, i have tried synker too, no go.
I seem to be in a similar situation after the upgrade to ICS, although some of it still works.
I'm using Outlook 2007 on a Windows 7 64-bit PC with the latest HTC Sync.
Contacts synchronise correctly in both directions
Any changes to my Outlook calendar synchronise correctly with my phone (I'm using the "PC Sync" device calendar).
New calendar entries on my phone synchronise correctly with Outlook.
If I delete or edit an calendar entry on my phone, it does not synchronise with Outlook.
It makes no difference whether I use the built-in calendar app or a third party app.
As an aside, I have also tried using MyPhoneExplorer to synchronise over wifi but this is seeing many entry differences where none really exist so I am stalled with that as an alternative.
