Ive been looking at alot of leather cases, but the Noreve one seems by far the best quality and stylish. any other suggestions?
I cant post images because i am a new user, but check the noreve one before you suggest an inferior case

Well actually i did see your post, but you were looking for one specifically with a belt loop, I just want one either without or a detatchable belt loop. Also the conclusion you came to was that krusell were the best, but I think they're as ugly as f**k.
I'm looking specifically for a high quality leather flip case.
I have the NorĂªve one. Best purchase ever... These things are unbreakable, I have one for my old N900 and it never failed me.
I bought a fortte one.. still haven't gotten it yet though (damn they take long!). I got the belt holster one, but they have a bunch of different models (http://www.fortte.com)
I bought the iphone 3gs leather pouch from noreve when I got my nexus one. I made a thread that had some suggestions for cases I'll post the link when I get a chance.

I had the Sena Ultra Slim and its a good thin leather case but out of the three I would say to get the Noreve iPhone pouch.
+1 for Vaja. TOTALLY worth the money and little wait to get it made. It's handmade from Argentina I think. I have had Vaja cases since my PDA days where I had a Sony Clie N70 that used the ivolution cases. Still looks brand new to this day. The Clie still rocks bejeweled too! LOL I moved on to Sony Ericsson phones and had Vaja cases for each one of them since my SonyEricsson T28. I cannot say enough about them, however, this case from Vaja is the only version they have besides the "universal" version. Kinda bummed and a few of us had been in email contact to see if they would make a flip pouch as well, but like others, I received emails saying that they will not make another case to fit the Nexus.
Oh well. I have a fleabay leather case with a belt clip. Very generic, cost 10 bux and protects the corners well. Magnetic clasp as well. Fits the phone pretty snug too.
I love my Krussell 95462 (Hector, Large) case. It's great. Belt loops to keep it in place, replaced the springy clip with their low profile clip, and used an older phone to reshape the case overnight each day.. Fits the N1 perfect now with my slim case on, looks great, feels great..

And the Krussell case I bought months ago still looks brand new.
HTC Leather horizontal case
HTC Case
Finally an OEM case. Been looking for one for ages. Currently using a vertical leather case that I got from ebay, which is fantastic for less than 20usd from seller bestsources. And they also have great customer service. I'll report back on that case when I get it.
Ebay case which I currently use.
That HTC case looks real cool

Do you have a link and price for the HTC case? I checked the HTC store and could not find it.
Thanks
Actually I got it from HTCpedia.com, so I guess it may not be officially OEM lol....I guess shopping late = Fail
Here's the linky
http://shop.htcpedia.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=234
Got the HTC case today and according to the packaging, it looks OEM. Nice soft touch, not leather though, almost suede like. It has elastic on its sides to keep it in place and not shoot out. Held down by velcro. This will be a business case for me and my other one I'll use for the weekends. I can put that other one in my jeans pocket no problem.

You can actually get the same cases sold at Ultra Cases off of eBay for much cheaper. I got one of these for 10 bucks with a generic screen protector.

Yeah I know but since they are adding one of their iPhone type cases to the Nexus One about every two weeks I think later on they will have one of the best selections of snap on cases in the future.
the black case is very intriguing but the pictures suck at showing how it covers the phone, post pictures when you get it????

I'm still waiting for it but when I get I'll take some pictures. Also I should be getting a chrome one from Case-mate this week, I'll post pics of that one to.
I got the ultra-case - The One yesterday. It fits the phone well, but does cover the dock pins even though they say it does not. Oh well, it prolly would not fit in a dock with the case anyhow.
I did not know what I was going to do for case/skin, etc so I bought this case, and a BSE skin. I will definitely be using the skin over the case.
Case feel like a cheap hard rubber case that can be bought for iphones for $3 all day long.. I was dissapointed to say the least. I guess I'll just have to wait for otterbox to kick out their cases for these phones.
I'm sending the case back and applying my BSE skin now...

I bought the Case-Mate Barely There case for my Nexus One. Just came in today. If anyone is familiar with the Incipio Feathercase for the iPhone, this case very similar to that one. Good protection without the added bulk of most cases. Still small enough to fit in one of those belt holster deals.

Yeah I got it, its kind of hard to take a picture since its chrome. I will tell you this the chrome snap-on case from Case-mate is feels way better than the Black by Ultra-case. The black one feels some what loose like it might come off, I can definitely recommend buying the chrome one it looks sweet and has a perfect fit. When it comes to shipping I paid Ultra-case $19.99 for 2-4day delivery from Hong Kong to the U.S., well it took 21days that is their $2.00 delivery option so I had to email them and get my $18 back, I first ordered on March 3rd and they said I would be refunded but I'm still waiting for it to show up on my credit card. With Case-mate I payed $5.92 for 2-4day delivery and I received it in 4 days.

They are the same and you can find them for $5 if you look harder on ebay, I have bought 3 for $12 before for my Mytouch 3G. The only thing that is unique about Ultra-cases.com is thier snap-on cases because hardly anybody makes them for the Nexus One mosts of these type of cases are for the iPhone, I still think the chrome one from Case-mate is better. Check these out:
http://stores.ebay.com/Cimo-Cases_G...15QQ_sidZ192097565QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322
I just received that Seidio Holster case, it works great. I didn't want to get one of the other cases since they cover up the engraving I had done. Bravo Seidio!
I bought this case from Incipio and it is pure crap just like the one from Ultracase here are the cases I am talking about:
http://www.myincipio.com/product/GGL_NEXUS_ONE_HT-143/Metallic-Lava-G
http://www.ultra-case.com/product.php?pID=449
The Case-mate: Google Nexus One Barely There is far superior to those piece of crap cases.

I ordered one yesterday because it's probably the best tpu case available at the moment.
I don't want some cheap tpu case that doesn't fit well and looks crappy. Even if it isn't the best looking case, I guarantee its better than anything available on the market right now for tpu cases.
EDIT: use code "xda" for a 10% discount. Worked for me yesterday.

Looking at iPhone 5 review, people seem to be complaining about the aluminum being scratched by the case.
Would that be due to a build-up of dirt inside the case?
I haven't received my Nexus 4 yet, but I really want to protect the delicate aluminum and glass backing, which is why I'm also putting a Skinomi full body guard on it as well as an S-line case.
Please give some feedback for this case when you get it because it looks like a really nice case overall :good:

Its just a build up of dirt and debris. That's why from time to time I always take my phone out of my case and clear out the dust and such inside the case. Solves that problem.

I was looking at the XtremeGuard, and it definitely was a great deal!
However, I decided to get the full body Skinomi off Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Skinomi-TechSkin-Protector-Protective-Lifetime/dp/B009W6C4FW/ref=pd_sim_cps_3
It was a little pricier, and it only came with one, but I figured that with the warranty I only really need one.
Additionally, it provided guards for the edges. It might be difficult to get them on just right, but protecting the chrome is really important to me!
Protecting the super nice back is important too.
I ordered one.

Went ahead and ordered. Really like the Diztronic TPU case for my HTC One S - it's made of high quality plastic and has a premium feel to it.
Here's a link to the Diztronic matte black case for the Optimus G: http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Flexible-Optimus-Sprint-Rogers/dp/B00A567462/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1354507077&sr=8-11&keywords=diztronic+tpu
Looks great - simple, clean, thin. I haven't actually seen the back of my phone since I first received it so I'm not too bothered with covering up the disco.
Just ordered mine successfully using the "XDA" coupon code as well.
I guess we'll see how it is. Everyone seems to like their cases for other phones.
Case material?
So I have never owned a TPU case, or anything other than hard plastic.
How "rubbery" is this guy? Would it be a pain taking it out of a pocket? Does it attract lint/etc?
I have the rearth case, but it's a little slick...
I have been using Sena cases for a couple of years now and was looking for a nice case for my new Nexus 4. I spoke with Sena on Monday to find out when the Nexus 4 case would be available to buy, and was told sometime in January. I already have a Galaxy Nexus Sena Ultra Slim Leather Case, but it would not fit well. So, if there is anyone like myself who can not wait, I compared the dimensions of the Nexus 4 to the phones that Sena has cases already available for, and decided to purchased the HTC One X case and it fits wonderfully. It is a little longer than the Nexus 4, but that will give it better protection when dropping it. My Galaxy Nexus case I bought from Sena didn't even fit as well as this does. If you don't like it, Sena gives you a 2 week full return and refund. Both pictures have the Nexus 4 inside the case.

Yes, and even easier than the Galaxy Nexus was with the case made for it after 6 month of usage.
After I broke my Galaxy Nexus, my Sena Slim case is lying around. I was hoping it might fit the Nexus 4, but it doesn't as you mention. Can you post some pictures so I could see how bad the fit is?
Thanks.
Do you use the phone in the leather case in your pockets? I love the look of that one and I hate the idea of covering up the beautiful N4 design with a TPU case. But i'm still trying to figure out how I use the leather case in day-to-day use.

I only use the case for carrying. When in my home and office, I place my phone on a Clingo universal dock.
I guess I'm asking if the leather case is slim enough to get in and out of jeans pockets.

Yes, very easily. They are very thin, but very durable.
It's not a case, just a pouch.
Personally I don't get why people get riled up about pouches. This one seems rather elegant so it seems like something I would use.
But the Mofi pouch... it's just an overpriced bag... You can get the materials for less than a dollar and it would only take an hour to cut and sew the punch yourself. The same can't be said for bumpers or TPU cases, or this leather pouch.
So what do you pouch users do with the pouch when you're using the phone? Slip it in your pocket? Hold it behind the phone? That's one of the reasons I bought a case, the Poetic Slimbook. It's leather and protects all parts of the phone, and in use the flap just has to be folded back behind the phone.

I paid $4.24 for mine, shipping included.
One hour of my time is worth more than $3.24. And that's if I could even do a proper job sewing.

When in travel, I will put the case in one of my jacket pockets or in one of my back pockets. This is so I can hold and feel the phone, not the case.
BTW, how does the Poetic Slimbook case hold the phone? In the pictures on Amazon, I can't tell how it is attached to the case? Are there straps?

Do you have a
Mofi pouch? I didn't really delve too much into that thread, but the OP had it quoted at $12. Way more than you'd pay for even a nice leather case. But at less than $5, thats not bad. Although I wouldn't consider it a value for the Mofi. The leather pouch in this thread seems quite nice and would be a steal at $5.

I think it's held in place by a hard plastic case. Search YouTube for "Poetic Slimbook iPhone 5" and you'll get a better idea of how it looks and functions. I posted the video review I found in one of the Poetic threads. Should be in my post history.

I'm a long term user of Sena cases, and I love them.
The first one I got was for my beloved iPhone 2G, may it RIP. The Sena slim pouch is a really well made quality product that I can warmly recommend to anyone.
I'm struggling with only a screen protector right now, so let's hope It'll be released for the nexus soon.

Just received this same case (HTC One X) for my Nexus 4 and the case is very tight causing the power button to push on as I slide the phone into the case. I almost feel it is unusable unless it stretches some....
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
It'll stretch out. I also bought the HTC One X ultra slim and after about a day my power and volume buttons were not being depressed as often. By the second or third day, it fit perfectly snug without depressing the power button.
I found the best way to remove the phone from the pouch is to hold the front and back of the phone about halfway down and push the bottom the the phone up. Push until enough of the top is exposed where you can grip the top sides and pull out of the pouch.

Just ordered this case. It was between this and the Waterfield Suede Jacket (cheaper, not made of real leather if you care about that). Thanks to the OP for the photos and the tip. For anyone else interested there's a 20% coupon code for Sena that worked for me: PCWIPNK11. Just found it by searching online.
I'm having second thoughts about this case. Got it in the mail today. It is very tight. I had a hard time getting the phone out, after the first time I used it. I mean, a really hard time.
I know there's a break in period. However, because the leather is not very soft or pliable the pieces of leather that are folded in, at the edges of the case on the inside, where the case is sown together, rub pretty hard against the sides of the phone as you slide it in and out. (They held down my power key effectively enough to turn the phone off.)
I'm concerned over time these rough tabs of leather will scuff up the rubbery material on the sides of the Nexus 4. Even putting the phone in the case once and pulling it out, seemed to make some very minor (hard to see) scuffs. I don't want the break in period itself to damage the edges of the phone. And even after that, given the rough feel of these tabs of leather, I wonder if they'll scratch the edges of the phone.
I'm not expecting the phone to stay perfect forever, but I don't think a case acquired to protect the case should potentially be scuffing it up instead. I can see how it wouldn't be a problem with a phone that had sides made of smoother plastic or metal material. But I'm not sure the rubbery material on the Nexus 4 is going to hold up to abrasion very well.
I see now why many of the other higher quality leather cases fold the sewn together edges outward, away from the inner pocket for the phone.
Either vapor or someone let the cat out of the bag early.

Its funny how we here on xda are going through cases trying to find the best one to protect our phone but there really hasnt been anyone to step up and make a good protective case. Most of the time they're the small, thin or ones that does not protect the entire phone. There are some out there but the bigger named ones that are known for more rugged cases haven't made one just because it isnt a flagship of a carrier...
I ordered a protective case I got from ebay, I'll post it on here when it gets here :good:

I will not buy Otterbox again. They did not make a case for Galaxy SII, and now Nexus 4.
And yet they made/make two for the GNex. Go fig. Maybe they didn't sell as many as they thought they would and are now Nexus gun shy.

I have had a commuter case for every phone I have owned over the years. Over the last few cases I have also bought a ballistic case and the quality is much higher. I will buy the ballistic over Otterbox commuter any day.
My main reason is because the back of the commuter case slides off everything. It has no grip like the ballistic. Additionally the ballistic has edge protection with minimal bulk. Finally the TPU quality is different for both brands. Otterbox is way to soft and allows sand to get in the edges.
Just my two cents from years with both manufacturers.
Sent from my Nexus 4
Meh. A Commuter case would have competition, notably from Ballistic. A Defender case, on the other hand, with its integrated screen protector ... that I would by. If Otterbox doesn't finally decide to produce it in 2014.

Haha yeah I also posted on their fb and got the same response. I'm just surprised how some of these companies only want to make cases that will make them most profit and they don't know the case demand this phone has just because its not a flagship carrier phone.. I see pieces of plastic go for $10-20 on eBay w/ 700-900 sold and barely protects the phone. Heck I even got the lg bumper and wasnt too satisfied with it so I gave it to my bro and im sure people on here are willing to pay extra for better cases.

I have also asked on Otterbox's facebook several times and every time they said they have no plans to make a case for the Nexus 4. So I went and ordered this case off ebay for Just under $10.

how do you like that one? i have the exact armor which is nice except it's a little slippery on the sides.
Both Seidio and Ballistic are in the process of making cases for our devices. I've had ballistic cases for my last 2 Nexii. They work great and look good for a big bulky case. Ive preordered the active case from Seidio and theirs are every bit as high end as otter box. Otter doesn't seem to make as high quality case for devices that aren't iPhone anyway.

It is rather disappointing, but it's not unreadable for a company to want to make a profit. Especially with the supply problems and order uncertainty, it cant be an easy judgement to make on whether the costs of a production run are going to sell well enough.
Hopefully the other robust cases in the works from other manufacturers will be good..
im sure there will be some nice rugged cases for our phone, it seems to always take longer for any android phone maybe except the galaxy S line.
Otterbox is overrated and overpriced imo, i bought the commuter for my Gnex and found it very bulky(even for a dual layer) and the silicone is a huge lint magnet. The plastic shell is also too slippery for me.
i bought this dual layer case in the mean time until something better comes.

Interesting. Have you received it? I don't mean to hijack this Otterbox thread (as useless as Otterbox itself has made it), so have you posted about your impressions about this case you bought in a dedicated thread?

sure, if there's no thread on it by the time i get it(hopefully next week) then ill take some pics and post a short review.
Ballistic is coming soon as well as Seidio active. The seidio can use a holster, and both are just as high quality as otter box. I personally don't like how otter looks and from what I've seen of their android cases, they don't put the effort in with designing them like they do the iPhone.
Sent from my 5th and final Nexus 4
Well thanks to Otterbox this will be the first device I use without their protection. I was hoping we might see a Trident case, they have a nice design going on their Aegis series cases.
I need help finding a case that has a belt holster, the phone is too big and too hard to put into my pants sometimes and is very frustrating. My note 2 I used the platinum case. However I would prefer a more 'gel grip' case if possible.
Edit: Must be white!
Yes let me know too!
Yeah I would be interested too. Maybe just a holster as I like the case I have already.
Buy the pelican case through AT&T. Best case out by FAR
I ordered 2 through amazon. The Encased and Cellbee brands. Waiting for them to arrive to seenif they are any good.

i have this in black. its not bad. plenty of protection, built in screen protector (at least till there are some decent glass ones, then its coming off or i'll get a uag to go with it. i cut off the dust covers to the usb and headphone, i just dont like them on any case. i'd rate it a 6 or 7/10. i prefer uag though.
it comes with a holster. not as good of one as say otterbox, but it works and keeps it secure. just not as fluid in and out of it.
Too bad that it must be white. My Seidio Surface is perfect for me.

I'm looking forward to getting my Surface today but even more forward to Seidio releasing the Convert add on kit so I can order that and their Quest car mount.
I think you'll like it. I had the Speigen cases just to get by, and paid more than I needed to for the Seidio on Preorder overnight, but man the thing is almost perfect. I added a flygrip to it which makes it complete for me, obviously not for everyone, but certainly functional. Wish I got just a plain black flygrip, but will have to manage for now.

Eventually when Best Buy gets them they sell the Surface w/ holster for $20 less than Seidio. It's called their Platinum series. But I needed some protection 2 weeks ago when I got the phone. This Seidio Surface is the 4th case I've ordered, the first three orders were cancelled. Between that and the glass screen protector issue it has been a real PITA trying to protect this phone.
My Seidio Surface is junk. It feels cheap around the edges, doesn't seem 100% snug, plus the the top section and the bottom section slide around a little bit at the connection. I am really disappointed in Seidio .

If mine fits like that I'll send it back. If I wasn't able to turn the Surface into the Convert model I never would have ordered it. I think it's way overpriced and underfeatured. Doesn't even have covers for the side rocker switches let alone dust caps for the headphone jack & mini USB port. For $35 + freight to me that's too much money for what the case offers.
to me it has the feeling of a cheap case made in china bought off ebay. ..
Why not look at getting a leather type case that will fit the phone with a case. That's what I'm doing. I have the Incipio case and ordered a leather belt pouch to hold it. I prefer a belt clip, but I am hesitant to use Seidio anymore since my Note 2 days. I had the Surface for the Note 2 and it scratched the heck outta the phone's frame.
I've had better luck with rubber base cases. On my Note 2, I switched to the Otterbox Commuter with its rubber liner and was scratch free. That's why I'm trying the Incipio 2 piece case that has a rubber skin and a plastic outer shell like the Otterbox Commuter.
Thank you all for all of your advice, I am going with the last option of adding a clip that will be detachable. I have to have white, I just don't like the black on white...being that my phone is white... So I ordered this case.

I'm a modder at heart. So most likely like the guy above did with the clip on the case, however I'm doing research currently to find a way to remove it so the clip can stay on your belt.
Something like this, but even more low profile..
