I currently have the Orbit2 which is great for buisness use, games and web.Im quite happy sticking with htc though I think I would prefer a slide out keypad next time.Soooo is it worth waiting for any new phones on the horizon ?otherwise im going to see what is on the market now.cheers.
If you dont like flashing ur phone then dont take the kaiser HTC Tytn II because its a bit slow with the original rom
I say wait for the the Touch Pro 2 to arrive in the uk then you will have the slide out keyboard and a much much sharper screen, which is always a bonus.
Thats what im doing im just glad that i still have a few months on my contract!
Had the same problem before. I Upgraded my Orbit 2 to Sonyericsson Xperia X1i.
Got that for free on o2 business tarrif but i had to add data bolt on for extra 5 pounds a month. Total 27 pounds a month. The phone is fantastic. Made by HTC but nicely finished by Sonyericsson Otherwise wait for Touch Pro 2 but it may not be available from O2 directly...
Wait for Touch Pro 2 or Xperia 2, if you need keyboard and have time to wait.
100% wait for the touch pro 2, that is one beautiful phone, just put off upgrading for now until it is released on o2. The Kaiser (Stellar if your on o2) by the way is actually a downgrade to the Orbit 2 so don't go for that.
Hi Friends,
Recently I lost my Sony Xperia X10i. I'm in the process of claim insurance. Now my question to my friends here - Which android mobile I need to buy. I'm a big fan of Android .
I'm from India, so please suggest me that is available in India. My budget is up to 30K .
Thanks & Regards,
Naresh Kumar
I can say go for Samsung galaxy S Or HTC Desire HD Htc Desire HD Will be available during this month. I 've heard prices will be around 35K But Battery drain is the problem in HD I guess
Depends on what you are looking for.
Nexus S or Galaxy S will give you the best processing power, Galaxy S also has the super AMOLED screen. The HTC Desire Z is very overclockable, which can put it above the Galaxy S even, and has a slide-out keyboard.
HTC Desire HD also has a big screen with good construction and great software (HTC Sense...best software skin on Android).
If you want plain unmodified Android then wait for the Nexus S, which would be the only phone with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
hTC all the way
Desire Z or Desire HD
HTC desire is a good choice.
I have HTC smart and am happy with its features and apps. I think HTC desire will be also best I had just deal with HTC and its first time I am using Android. you will get many best deals at this Christmas.
Good Luck!

i will NEVER own another samsung smartphone... terribly disappointing expierence with the galaxy s series in its entierty....
ive found that most people who have an SGS and LOVE it, have either never had ANY smartphone previously, or never owned an HTC smartphone to understand what they are missing
i just switched yesterday from an iphone 4 to an HTC Droid Incredible. its, in my book, 1000x better than the iphone. yea it doesnt have the front facing camera like the Evo, but usin it on the iphone for facetime purely raped the battery life. hence why i went w/o. im still tinkering with it, like i did both my iphones, and i'll post a full review for those who wanna kno more about it (and if there isnt one already).
Motorola Milestone 2 is a good idea.. but i'd wait for Nexus S or lg star..
LG STAR HAS A TEGRA 1GHZ PROCESSOR.. but youll have to wait longer than nexus S for that

Yeah i came from a 3gs,iPhones are boring. You could probably get a Htc HD2 cheap and you can port android to it,there very good at running android, fast, stable, they even beat the Nexus one and desire at running it
IF you like options, get a cheap HD2 lol. It can run Wm 6.5, Android, and ubuntu and possibly even wp7. and the hardware is still good. Otherwise Desire HD sounds good but I highly recommend the HD2 for versatility
I will be changing my phone in June. Right now I have HTC Hero, and I just love it, it is by far the best phone I have ever owned. Can not stand Iphones.....
So my question, is whats on the horizon ???? like I say, it will be June 2011 when I upgrade, what should I be looking at ?
Thanks
Ian

30k INR is about 660 USD, right?
you could buy HTC Desire with that, I think..
or perhaps, just buy HTC HD2.. with cedesmith desireHD2 build, 2000 quadrant score is just a small number..
I've been with T-Mobile for around 7 years and have 7 lines. We have tried about every phone out there. One year we went through 103 phones. We have owned every myTouch phone, including the Fender but excluding the new one, almost all of the BlackBerry phones made, many nokia phones, motorola phones and of course countless htc phones (including the HD7, returned the next morning).
No matter what platform HANDS DOWN the Samsung Vibrant S (I guess that would include AT&Ts Galaxy S) is the best out there. My kids had the inexpensive samsung flip phones and they were great, but beyond the very low end Samsung I have never been really happy with their phones that were almost smart phones, more like frustrated because you could "almost" do what lets say the HTC phones could but your Samsung was always not set up for all the same apps, stuck with all kinds of just small bumps.
Just this weekend 3 people were deciding what phone to get and they are now all getting the Vibrant once there contract is up. I personally added a line just to get this phone. Now my Vibrant in rooted (never done that before) and is customized with BlackFroyo I got off here. Of course the 3 friends all want to do the same.
Samsung has all the technology, thank goodness T-Mobile got their hands on it!!! Buy it you won't be sorry.
get the nexus S, period

I must admit I would have agreed with you before I bought the Vibrant. We've been with T-Mobile for 7 years and have a total of 7 lines... I won't repeat what I already posted but have gone though over 103 phones (unfortunately, kids) in one year about 90% smart phones.
Samsung DID IT RIGHT with the VIBRANT!!!!
I love window based phones as well and REALLY lean towards HTC until now. Returned the HD7 within 14 hrs, maybe I'll try again once it's more established.
So I bought my first choice and everyone who sees it or uses it (it's rooted with BlackFroyo theme) has decided this is the phone they'll be getting.
What was so disappointing about the Galaxy S Series? The working phones we have right now are 2 myTouch slides, 1 myTouch G1, 1 myTouch Fender, partially broken Samsung Galaxy (I agree with you about this phone), 1 or 2 different BlackBerrys, but returned the HTC HD7 & HTC Pro Touch 2, & gave away the Slide to get this Vibrant and now I have 6 others under my roof who want me to buy them a Vibrant.
I know everyone has different opinions and needs but to imply that owners of the Galaxy S Series have less experience with SmartPhones than those who own HTC phones is just a little narrow minded. I did feel the way you did but it was the "NEWEST" HTC phone that pushed me to the Samsung. Reviews everywhere were overwhelming that if you were going to buy a T-Mobile phone get the Vibrant.
-nothing personal, it would just be nice if you would back your statements up with some facts because it sounds like you're talking about another Samsung
Buy HTC Desire Z its a great phone.

What is best for me may not be for you, said that, theres no such "best" phone.
So back in August, after having it for about 2 1/2 months,my Sensation broke (volume rocker fell off/dust under screen/dead pixels) and I switched over to a Torch 9810 (I have the PEP plan from Best Buy, yay) for like..2 days before the keyboard broke on that one which allowed me to get a SGS II, but I returned it the next day when I found out my dad had already gotten me one while he was down in the US as a gift and from that I got a Bold 9900. That Bold, has now died and will not turn on or charge or anything and Best Buy is saying how the phone is worth $600 in store so that's how much I'm working with right now. (with Bell btw)
So the main question is, what phone would you guys recommend that I get next? I love keeping up with the latest technology and gadgets nowadays and a bunch of new phones have came out that I'm pretty much dying to have. I've had a great taste of HTC that left me wanting more and the SGS 2 was fun until I gave it to my dad for himself.
So considering that, I'm stuck between the following phones:
-LG Optimus Lte
-HTC Raider Lte
-SGS II (Its a maybe since Bell doesn't have the simliar models from Telus, Rogers or AT&T)
-Galaxy Nexus
Toss me ideas, questions or whatever to help me decide

Thread moved to Q&A due to it being a question. Would advise you to read forum rules and post in correct section.

[~2003-2004 - Nokia 3210]
Got it for free and mostly used it for playing snake when i was young Lost it a year or two later.
[~2004-2007 - Some simple Basic Phones from Motorola, Samsung usw..]
Not worth mentioning but whatever. I lost my phones very often back in that days so then i had many i dont remember^^
[~2007-2009 - HTC magician (Vodafone VPA Compact)]
My first "real" phone i had and really used much. While slider/flip phones were "in" at this time everyone yelled "geek" at me for this, but it was pretty awesome for the time. Watching complete movies on a long train ride, using my "big" headphones for listening to music (3,5mm Jack ), playing (real) games on it like Half-Life 1 (with modified quake engine port) and so long. Had a hard life and died after the like 547th fall to ground
[2010 - Some Samsung Slider Phone i got for free but had to repari the Display]
never liked it, never wanted it, but needed a cheap Phone for Work really fast. I gave it back after getting a better one.
[2010-20XX - Samsung Wave II]
Fell out of my moms pocket (54th time or so) and seemed to be broken. Touch didnt worked anymore, keys did what they wanted and it crashed like every 30 seconds. Restarts, battery changes, SIM changes, nothing brought it back to normal. So she got a new Wave 3 and gave me her old Wave II for "playing around". Unbelievable it did repair itself. After 1 Day i got it i bootet it up and everything was fine. At all this is a Love/Hate relationship between me and this phone, i HATE bada, but i love the phone itself for beeing practicly unbreakable. expect for the incident when i got it it does very well in hard conditions of my workplace. Looks really "Rat style" now, but works and works and works, and has a really decent Battery Life. Still have it as secondary phone and for work
[2012-20XX - HTC One S (S4) ]
Needed a new mobile phone contract and it smiled at me for only 5 bucks, so it took it. except for the missing SD-Card slot and unchangeable battery its a real nice phone at all. Extreme good looking, nice hapctic, fast, smooth, good cam, good speech-quality and Sense 4.0 is just awesome. Have it 4 days now and its allready SuperCID´d, rooted and has a unlocked Bootloader

Bought as T-Mobile MDA Vario III, slapped English custom rom on it within a day to replace the Dutch one, which brought me here. Loved the keyboard, replaced it because of the infamous lack of hardware acceleration for the infineon video capabilities. HTC never did released a rom with the proper drivers. Had it for about 16 months.
2009 - HTC Touch Pro2
Replaced it within a year because the thing was just too damned buggy and slow. The keyboard was awesome, but it did make the phone big and heavy, which started to bother me after using a desire for a day.
2010 - HTC Desire
Best phone I've ever had. I'd still be using it if it wasn't so limited memory-wise. The only reason I replaced it is that I just couldn't have all (6 or so) apps installed without it moaning about low memory. So when I got a decent offer on the One S, I replaced it.
2012 - HTC One S
Mixed feelings. First one I got had the home-button problem and got sent back for repairs. Used my desire for 2 weeks again. Got the One S back, no problems for a week, then it went crazy again. Off to the repair shop again (and welcome back desire). Got sent a replacement model after another 3 weeks, which does not have the home-button problem, but the black coating chips. I don't care too much about that, at least it works now... Excellent phone, although it does spontaneously reboot at times...
Damn, had a phone for ~14 years already...

Now that I'm upgrading from my 2 year contract on an HTC Desire S I've been looking at the market. The HTC One is obviously the current flagship HTC and mainly because I've never used an android phone without Sense I'm not sure if any other brand would suit. Trouble is I've held a "One" and don't really like the metal body. My missus has an HTC One X and it feels great. So looked for a One X+ and I can't find one on contract. 6 months old and already abandoned. The only phone that seems ok is the upcoming HTC Desire 500. Middle range phone, sense 5, nice screen and a memory card slot.
I just want a 4.3" decent spec android with 32GB of memory either on the phone or via a memory card. Not sure about non sense phones although looked at a windows 8 phone - but i don't think the OS is mature enough yet.
Any ideas?
Please ask here:

Thanks!
OP didn't post in the other thread. But I'm also looking at either this or the Moto G as an upgrade from my two year old Desire S.
Are there any other competitors ?
