BlackBerry 8520 Curve Unlock - General Questions and Answers

Is it possible to Sim unlock Black-Berry 8520 Curve. I have tried asking the carrier, but they refused to help. Could someone give me the unlock code or would forward me to the concerned site. Who give it for free.
I don't want to spend any money on it(Unlocking).
Thanks

Google is your friend.

or how 'bout this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/UNLOCK-Code-TMo...tem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa1e61b92

no dear I told before I don't want to spend anymoney on it. Is there a free way to sim unlock blackberry?

The ebay link has a buy it now price of $.99, thats almost free...
Why won't your carrier provide the code?

Firstly about the ebay link I don't use a TMobile Carrier Phone. Its from vodafone.
And when I had asked them to provide me with the unlock code they refused to give.
He kept saying its against their company policies and crap..
I don't find any solution to get it unlocked neither on google nor bing. It just forwards me to fraud sites.
Could you do a dep search for me or any code generator appliation.

Here in XDA we don´t manage with blackberry OS, we focus on WM and Android only, so I doubt you´ll get what you ask in here.
Apart posting non codes generators/warez/serials, etc are against the rules.
I´m sure you´ll get better chances of getting help on any of the posted above blackberry forums rather than here.
Good luck,

As mentioned above, this is mostly an Android and Windows mobile site. We have no sections for BlackBerry. Well, the Priv now, but only cause its Android OS.
I would think you'd be better served finding a Blackberry forum to ask about that. :good:

Is there an Official T-Mobile UK update for the MDA Compact?

Just as it says in the topic, is there any OFFICIAL update to the T-Mobile UK version of the MDA Compact (Magician)? Still running 1.01 here
I'd rather use an official update for my phone, rather than a rip. Especially as I don't actually own a card reader so dumping another ROM to my device isn't actually doable for me ATM anyway
If not, anyone know why not, or if there are plans for the future? There's an official DE one, so you'd think they remember they sell the damn phone in more countries than Germany!
Cheers
FFM
Yes, i'd like to see this information also. I know the instructions to apply roms are available, however i would like to know that T-Mo UK actually support and roll these things out (and therefore have backup support available)
There was news that T-Mobile were releasing a patch at the end of last month. As they are now shipping Compacts with the newer ROMS. I haven't heard if it's out as yet. I just keep checking the website as it should be out any time now.
8Ball
Well.. I've just phoned em up and asked em, but the girl I spoke too could find no information in her email about any upcoming updates to the ROM...
But then, how often do CS reps get told what's going to happen!
I shall continue to hope, but really, there is NO need to keep us hanging like this, not if they want us to bloody stay!
I called T-Mo also. They gave me a number of a 'manufacturer' which was,
0871 22 30 217
or
0871 22 30 218
Thats the HTC Europe repairs number.
Who did not answer the phone on either number.
I'm running out of ideas now
E-mailed T- mobile customer services about the release date for the patch and got this reply:
Thanks for your email.
Unfortunately we have no launch date for this as of yet.
Thanks and Regards
Which means that there appears to be an upgrade in the pipeline, but they're just very slow about getting it organised!
Thanks
8Ball
What i think we should do is this
Someone draft up a Standard letter of Complaint about this, IE all the other makers can handle it, WHY CANNOT YOU
then we all send it in to T-mobile, and see if that helps....
they must have the update cause the new ones are been shipped with it
P.S if anyone has the new version, can they please dump it somewhere on the FTP site please
Marc
well fellow uk'ers... it's OFFICIAL...
T-Mobile Tech Department ARE USELESS.
There has been much speculation of a forthcoming upgrade for the MDA Compact, not only because of the countless issues, but to also provide the Blackberry service, something I was personally looking forward to...
http://www.blackberry.com/news/press/2004/pr-21_12_2004-01.shtml
http://www.t-mobile.net/CDA/t-mobil...yearid-2516-monthid-3535,en.html?w=1024&h=603
As you will see in the above links, it was mentioned at the end of last year, that this would be AVAILABLE for the MDA Compact. Try a google search...
SO, phoned up the so-called "Tech Dept" at T-Mobile UK, and you guessed it, didn't have a clue. Furthermore, they said "there wasn't enough RAM / storage for this facility" :?
If anyone has more success than me, then please let us know..

[Question] Dutch Vodafone mobile tv app

Good day,

Need Cheap PDA's

Hey Everyone,
I have an odd question and im hoping someone on here will have the knowledge.
bascially I work at a mobile software company and we have just won a deal that requires 1300 devices.
these devices need to be as cheap as possible, the only requirement is a method of connecting to a Computer via AS and the device must be CE or WM.
our customer is currently looking into some "Contact Organisers" from China at $70per device.
We have contacted Expansys and other companies like Clove who can only recomend devices over £130.
Does anybody here have any knowledge or experience with sourcing/importing cheap PDA's?
Many thanks in advance for the feedback
Tony
1300 Device? You Could contacts HTC directly in my opinion ^^ a Viva in Italy at online store costs 200€.
Forget China device because they have all lower not price only

[Q] Anyway to unlock the Huawei U8150/X1?

Hey guys!
I have been a fond reader of XDA Developers when i once owned my own X10 (it was **** ).
Now i happen to be getting the Optus Huawei X1 or also known as 8150/8180 (its the 8150 but with a different skin).
I know , i know, you guys will tell me to search around google and XDA developers . but the thing is I have and the 2-3 threads on XDA weren't solved. Im only a teenager and the options of buying unlock codes or software such as DC Unlocker is not plausible
The link to Huawei X1 from Optus
optus.com.au/store/phone/huawei_x1
And my second question , im from australia. If not the hauwei X1 which phone should i buy ? *A cheap budget android under 180ish. Thanks alot!
All help will be GREATTTLLYYY appreciated
There is unfortunately no easy way to unlock most phones. You'd be hard pressed to find any new phones that have free unlock codes. If you can't buy unlocks online, a lot of phone repair places will also unlock phones.

Get the bootloader unlock codes soon !

The page is live again.
Just login below :
https://emui.huawei.com/en/unlock_detail
You can refer to the attachment.
All users who buy a new Huawei or Honor as of today will not be able to unlock the bootloader having the door closed to the installation of ROMs. For those smartphones already marketed there will be an unlock limit: 60 days from today, but it does not work anymore. We will see if the manufacturer ends up retraining and gives the freedom to change what you want, assuming the risk of damaging the mobile phone, which is why it is yours.
It is not good to leave aside the developers and the most mobile fans that are around. I do not understand why they have changed their mind, that someone explains why they think they have made this turn

Actually that's not all correct. Devices Huawei/Honor released after 5/24 will not be able to unlock bootloaders. If you purchase a device within the 60 day period you can still request an unlock code. If you buy a device after the 60 day period you won't be able to retrieve an unlock code.

Fatal error??
goes blank for a week or more
..
Is this a permanent decision ? Without the unlock codz, there is no way to flash custom ROM ? no anyway ? :crying:
that`s good to know...i was planning to buy a View 10 but not under These circumstances. If Huawei/Honor doesn`t let the customers decide, what to do with their device, i son`t buy their stuff.
It`s the same with Nokia btw....
Have to say as someone who bought a view 10 on day one, this is VERY disappointing to hear. I haven't done it yet as I am new to all of this and wasn't sure what to do. Guess I will have to unlock it now. Well, no more Huawei/Honor for me.
This is definitely my last honor or Huaweii product.

The unlock code is based on your IMEI, so you should be able to unlock the bootloader whenever you want. I took the code for my device just in case. I haven't unlock it yet.
I am waiting for you to fix the page to unblock the bootloader, before it went blank and now it lets you type your IMEI, product id, sn ... but when you send it does not do anything, it gives a verification error or ¿?, I don't know, the fact is that it still does not work

Just request it via email from any Honor Support site, Germany for instance sends them out. All they need is your IMEI and S/N
The email for the German support site: [email protected]
You should be able to write it in English, if you want to be on the safe side you can simply run it through Google translate and paste the German translation into your email too :fingers-crossed:

Thank you! Try todo send email to China support , because the Spain Support can't do It, they told me:
"We checked your IMEI and it shows the phone is from China. Unfortunately, we cannot give you the bootloader, code since we only provide them for the region of Spain or Europe. You'll have to wait until the website works again or contact Huawei China"
I asked for China email support and I can't to be able to find the email. I send one but I think that is not correct. :crying:

Right now he sent it where you told me because in Spain I was sent to China and the technical service of China does not answer. I've sent it to two or three sites that have been telling me. Let's see if it gives to someone that I'm going crazy. The page to unlock does not work, I'll try again just in case. Thank you!!!

Just be patient since they don't work on the weekend. I sent them the email on Sunday and had my code by Monday early afternoon :good:
Let's see if it's true. This error comes out on the page:
English page: "If you have any questions about the unlock code application, please contact us" :silly::silly:
China page: "Your IMEI number is not linked to your account"
Have to wait!!
Thank you!!
Good mobile but very bad support if you bought in China, I do not buy anything from China.
From the support of Spain and from Germany can not do it, they send me to the Chinese support, which does not work (http://consumer.huawei.com/cn/support/service-center/).
Within a year or two hopefully, when they stop updating it, I will not be able to install a ROM. They think I'm going to buy another Huawei or Honor, but no.
The problem is that I do not like mobile phones with Notch or rear fingerprint, or rear glass because I fall quite.
When a brand says one thing and then another, it has no honor, it does not honor its brand
I bought the phone a few days ago and I have not tried anything of what they say, they are making me dizzy, it is complicated they put it.
I will have patience but I have my doubts of being able to get it.
I want to sell it but I like a phone that it comes without Notch, that it is made of metal, with Jack and with a fingerprint in front; there are not many mobile phones like that ... what could I buy with these features?
Huawei say that:
Dear xxxxx,
Thank you for contacting Huawei Support.
We are unable to send boot loader code via email and can only be obtained through our website.
If you would want to unlock your phone, you should meet the following conditions:
1. Please register your Huawei ID in our official website http://emui.huawei.com/en/ on your phone.
2. Log in and logout your Huawei ID continuously for 14 days.
3. Each Huawei ID should not apply for the unlock code more than fifth time within 6 months.
If you meet the criteria, please go to https://emui.huawei.com/en/unlock_detail and click the 'download ‘button to login your Huawei ID other than any other third party ID to apply for the unlock code. Please contact us by mail or local service hotline as following if error message appears.
TEL: http://consumer.huawei.com/en/contact-us/index.htm?tag=hotline
Mail: http://consumer.huawei.com/en/contact-us/index.htm?tag=email
Please submit your mobile model, SN, IMEI/MEID and error message in your e-mail. We also need to know that your phone is rooted, it can be out of the best working state and some of the functions may not be able to work normally. In addition, the system is vulnerable to be invaded by viruses once your phone is permitted to unlock. For the lack of testing, third party software may not be compatible with your phone. Unlocking will bring unexpected negative impacts and the device will be not normal, and cannot be restored, Huawei after-sales service office will not provide warranty service for your rooted phone, and you may bear the cost. So we strongly advise you to think twice.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you better. Please help us by taking a few minutes to tell us about the service that you have received so far. We appreciate your feedback and want to make sure we meet your expectations:
