[Q] Anyway to unlock the Huawei U8150/X1? - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hey guys!
I have been a fond reader of XDA Developers when i once owned my own X10 (it was **** ).
Now i happen to be getting the Optus Huawei X1 or also known as 8150/8180 (its the 8150 but with a different skin).
I know , i know, you guys will tell me to search around google and XDA developers . but the thing is I have and the 2-3 threads on XDA weren't solved. Im only a teenager and the options of buying unlock codes or software such as DC Unlocker is not plausible
The link to Huawei X1 from Optus
optus.com.au/store/phone/huawei_x1
And my second question , im from australia. If not the hauwei X1 which phone should i buy ? *A cheap budget android under 180ish. Thanks alot!
All help will be GREATTTLLYYY appreciated

There is unfortunately no easy way to unlock most phones. You'd be hard pressed to find any new phones that have free unlock codes. If you can't buy unlocks online, a lot of phone repair places will also unlock phones.

[q] iphone user new to htc hd2

hey, ive been an iphone user for a while and unlock/jailbreak all the time.
now i sold my iphone and am buying an htc hd2 off craigslist in 2 hours. It's a tmobile hd2 and I really need to unlock it as I use SimpleMobile.
I've been reading around this unlock forum through the 5 pages and have read a lot about HD2 but nothing really aboutr unlocking it. well free that is..
I've read the websites that you pay like 20-40 dollars to get the unlock codes however thats not very appealing.
A person in my class told me that this website would provide me a way to acquire a free unlock code, however, i haven't been able to find a method.
My wife is on a tmobile family plan that hasn't expired yet and she's been using tmobile for about a year or more. apparently she can call and get the unlock code by saying she's traveling to the UK or something.
anyways, if anyone could help me out, i'd really appreciate it and would like to start learning the htc system so that i can help others out too.
for instance, i need help with unlocking the htc hd2 for tmobile and I'm not really sure what this ROM stuff is all about that i've been reading.
this kid in class said to bring him a usb or SD card and that he would put android on the system because it's better, so any advice there is greatly appreciated.
i went out on a limb and sold my iphone to buy this htc hd2, PLEASE HELP!
-sorry if i didn't read a stickie i was supposed to, i tried reading as much as possible first.

[Q] How do I carrier unlock a Samsung Galaxy W

(It sucks not to have a subforum..)
Title says it. I want to buy one of these phones, but I'm not gonna if I cant unlock the carrier (be able to insert SIM cards of other carriers). A friend used a program called blade unlock for the ZTE Blade, which gets the IMEI and gives you an unlock code (NCK, i believe it's called), and I found sites online with calculators where you input your IMEI and it gives you an NCK code to input when you turn on your phone. All those utilities were free.
Can I do so with a Galaxy W? I find only online sites which charge for it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also, is this an easy phone for rooting and stuff? Or is it one of those that you cannot root?
Thanks in advance for all the help.
You may try to use the application: Galaxy S Unlock.
Thing is: if I buy the phone it's gonna be from another carrier, which I cannot use. I don't want to be stuck with an unusable 135€ phone... :X
I'm not gonna buy it until I found a free way to unlock it. If anyone knew if the Galaxy S unlocker works in Galaxy W, I'd be more grateful than *insert lame comparison here*. No, seriously, I'd owe you a beer.
Bump;
Sorry to be annoying, but I really would like to know if any exploit works for unlocking Samsung Galaxy W. As a last resort, however, I'd buy a code off eBay..
I'd like to know the same......every thread I've read with this question ends without an answer either way!
Only sites that want you to pay seem to exist to provide you with an unlock code!

Pantech Discover unlock info

Hello people i'm a newbie to this forum and i'm a newbie to unlocking phones. I don't care about Rooting my phone as i don't think i have the skills to do it. However i just want to unlock a Pantech Discover from AT & T so it will work on T-Mobile can anybody give me the unlock code so i can unlock the Discover so it will work with T-Mobile. Thanks for any and all help
Unlock Discover
If you bought your phone from AT&T, you should be able to get an unlock code for free from them (if you meet a few requirements). If you dont already have a carrier, then there are many sites you can visit to buy an unlock code (seen one for $8.99 http://cellphoneunlock.net/products/unlock-pantech-discover/) another is http://www.worldgsmcodes.com/pantech/Pantech-Discover-network-unlock/.
Each unlock code is unique to each phone based on it's imei # so you wont be able to use someone elses unlock code. You can get your imei # by dialing *#06# and it will give you a 15 digit imei #. If your unable to use your dialpad, you need pull your battery cover, pull the battery out and the imei # is list under the battery. Just goto to one those sites and follow their instructions.
Unlocked - WORKING
I've been noticing a few too many people having a hard time with some of the site someone mentioned. I've had to use one of them myself a few weeks ago for a ZTE Merit from TracFone. Luckily, I was given a working code and move about my way. This phone however, due to limited support has been an obstacle to root and unlock. I am proud to say that I FINALLY have both.
Maybe I could help you guys out. I unlocked mine and have it working 100% with Simple Mobile and T-mobile.
All I need is the phones IMEI. I spent hours last night trying using different methods and came really close to paying only to find out the Discover wasn't supported for some reason or another. A buddy came up with a minor tweak in the way the IMEI was loading into the unlocking software to get it working.
PM is anyone is interested. Here are some screenshots.

Oh so the Pantech is also hard to unlock it? I like the Pantech Discover and the Sony Xperia TL and don't know whi ch to choose. The sony has a support board on this forum. Which should I choose?

Some people have had issues with that. I can help you unlock yours if you end up choosing it. There are no ROMS out for the Discovery that I know of since there isn't a working recovery for it either. I haven't read up on the Sony yet though. I'll take a look at the specs and give you my thoughts.

[Q] un-lock.us Trustable?

Hi!
Last week I bought a SIM-locked Sony Xperia Z and now I'm waiting for an unlock code to arrive. However, it may take several days and I bumped into the website http://un-lock.us/ which say it's free and fast.
I couldn't fins any reliable info or opinions about it, so I haven0t been so foolish of just entering my IMEI there, just in case. It seems surprising to me that no good or bad words about this service, since it provides a (AFAIK) legal service.
I would greatly appreciate any recommendation from reputable XDA members. Thank you very much

My bootloader unlocking journey

Hey, I got a new phone for Christmas, a Huawei P20 !
I'm very happy because my last phone was a moto G and I kept it about 6 years, it looked quite bad after all this time xd.
However I'm a big fan of tweaks and hacks, and the first thing I though after getting my Huawei was to root it.
So I went on internet, hoping I would not brick my phone like the first time I tried on my moto G :fingers-crossed:... But I just saw that Huawei had stopped providing bootloader unlock codes.
I desesperately tried everything I saw to get this damn code, but I can't get it.
Some people talk about creating Huawei IDs with Honk Kong as location, but they actually don't ask your location on the sign up page so idk how to make it. Some people talk about programs where you can pay to get the code, but It is just ridiculous and I'm never gonna pay for something I should have free, and which seems to me to be a right.
I sent 2 mails to Huawei support as recommended in the sites I visited, but the only poor answer they gave me after a week was "the service has been stopped, we can no longer give you your code". I'm very deceived because root is a must for me on a phone.
Do you know anything that could help me? Is there any trick you know to get the code and that works, or did you understand the Honk Kong trick ? Thanks
it is really disgusting, it is the worst movement that huawei could do. I am in the same situation, the only thing you can do is to pay 30 eurs to a company.. that surely gets the codes from huawei and then unlock yhe bootloader! I called them, I emailed them and it was a total waste of my time. Moreover I have a **** Rom which is from Movistar provider. We are ****ed mate.

There are cheaper sellers online at only 19us$.
Check Global-unlocking-solutions.
That won't help OP who only want a totally free unlock method and won't buy from third-party party seller, as he thinks, as many, that is should be free of any charge.
It's not a nice move for huawei to did so...
But 20 bucks are not so much for a 400 bucks device, so if you want it rooted....

Exactly in the same boat as you, got the p20 for Christmas, after having a LG g3 for 4 years. Then I discovered it can't be rooted because they don't want to unlock bootloaders anymore...
This is a shame, I'm gonna go to a Huawei store near home and try to make them spit out my code lol. I'll also look for anything that could help to find the code ourselves. BTW, do you know who exactly seels codes? Are they companies or just hackers? If they are hackers, we are too so we could do that ourselves ahah
Just pony up €20, you cheap bastard!
