Touch screen does not respond, stuck on screen alignment - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I've had an unlocked Raphael that has worked flawlessly for the past 10 months.
So a while back I was texting and the screen gave out on me, so I used the keyboard for a while. I did a soft reset and screen was still not responding...
Then I did a hard reset and have been stuck on the screen alignment ever since.
The only part that does respond is where it says htc on the screen cover.
If I push on that area, the + moves to all the corners, and eventually comes back to the center to redo the alignment.
Any thoughts on what I could do?
Info:
Raphael unlocked and being used on T-Mobile.
There is no magnetic case, or any case on the phone.
I did a hard SPL last night, so it shows I have the 1.90 OliNex.

I need an htc touch pro t7272.dat file from a good aligned htc pro.
If you find htc touch pro t72727.txt, that's fine, I'll just change the extension.
I managed to get past the screen through remote alignment, but the screen is not functioning because well, I haven't aligned it.

I have a similar problem with my Touch Pro for Verizon. I found out its because the screen/digitizer are shifting to the right of the phone and causing the screen to get a oily appearance. I have to use my fingernail to push the screen slightly back towards the center and the digitizer works properly again. Perhaps you are having a similar problem?

Hard Reset problem

Hi!
My Treo 750 is not working after Hard Reset. My touch screen was not working for last couple of monthes. So I perform the hard reset. After that a screen always appears " Tap the screen to setup yr windows mobile device".
But my touch screen is not working .I keep out the battery for 24hrs out of set.Cant set the tap screen as Touch screen is not workin. Please is here any helpful person to help me.
I have no warrenty.
Although unlikely, the cable that controls the touch screen senses could be loose or dirty. You'd have to disassemble the device to remove, clean the contacts and reinsert the flat cables in their connectors. You can use a pencil eraser to clean the contacts. Just one or two passes is enough.
Until the touch screen starts working there is no other way to bypass the touch screen setup that you are stuck at.
If the above doesn't work, one or more components may be shot. You can pick up 750's off eBay relatively cheap. I got one for about $170 in pretty good condition.

'un-aligned screen??

Since some time I have this problem that when I turn on the Pro I have to 'unlock' the device. At the bottom on the left you tab the screen to unlock and next you tab the rightside of the screen somewhere half way and than it should 'unlock'. But it seems that my screen is not aligned and when I touch the right side I can see the screen 'light up' on the left side.
After unlocking using the keyboard I can touch the right side eg the 'X' to close the phone but instead I get the start menu. If I touch the 3 on the phones softkeys I get a 1.
Any idea is welcome.
hard reset, so you can align the screen at the beginning...
or use your keyboard to navigate to start->settings->system tab->screen and run "align screen"

The 8525 (aka hermes) has been known since first release that some device will have screen alignment problems, I personally sent my TyTN back to HTc europe a few weeks after i got it (August 2006) and the screen alignment issue was fixed, something to do with gaskets around the touch screen expanding??
Ive sent my Raphael back after 20 days because the LED behind the "Send" key stopped working, but im getting my replacement back some time this week.
There are ALWAYS problems with HTC devices but that doesnt make me love them any less
Advice to the OP: if the device isnt working correctly get it RMA-ed for a replacement/repair, these are expensive devices and you shouldnt settle for anything faulty
I'm having the same problem as mrvanx
i've been digging in the registry and found
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / HARDWARE / Touch / calibrationdata with a numerical value
is this where the screen cailbration data is stored and has someone looked at this? Kinda n00b with this and could'nt find anything related to this on the forum. Could use some help, cuz this constant un-alignment thing is driving me nuts.
Maybe someone knows a base value that's close to perfect alignment, if there is such a thing?
thanx
Hello everybody.
My Touch Pro got a bad touchscreen, the center part is dead.
So when I want to allign my screen, I can't get past the center cross.
I can allign my screen but then I have to tap all crosses slightly on the right.
But now everything is missalligned.
So could someone post me his/hers CalibrationData from the registry?
It needs to be from a Touch Pro/Raphael..!
It located at: HKLM/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/TOUCH/CalibrationData
It would really help me out!
Thanks..

I had the same problem. Where-ever I touched the screen, only the left side of the phone highlighted.
After the re-alignment, it worked !!
Bad thing : I have to do it every 2 days :-(
And yes : I'm using my phone A LOT !!!! (It's just a part of me (Am I becoming nuts ?))
Screen alignment problem correlated to high temperatures?
Hi guys,
Since a week I've had problems with my screen alignment all the time. Sometimes the touchscreen worked fine, sometimes it was completely off. Re-aligning it in settings worked most of the time. Soft resetting worked too sometimes.
But today the problem just went away. I started thinking and came up with the idea that sunny weather and high temperature may induce this problem, since the problem started when it was great weather here. And it magically went away today, which is a rainy day (with moderate temperature 15-20 C).
Could any of you confirm this? Are you living in a warm environment? Does the problem go away when in an airconditioned space? (Mine did)

Align screen, endless loop

Hi all,
Yesterday evening the screen on my TP was misaligned all of a sudden. This has happened before, I don't know why but I know how to fix it or so I thought.
Open the start menu and find the screen alignment tool in the system settings did the trick until now.
I can align the screen all I want but it just keeps asking me to align. I've tried soft reset, hard reset, leaving the battery out for a night and aligning over 50 times but it keeps me in the alignment screen.
What happened? The screen obviously functions as it detects the taps.
Patrick
BTW. I run RomeOS 1.40.1 (Dutch) en flashed the stock rom to test if that fixes the issue but that has the same problem.
Align screen loops again when you don't tap properly on the cross. Obviously you're taping properly but maybe the screen could not percieve it properly. Did you ever drop your baby?
Regards,
Carty..

Uhm, I never dropped any of my babies but my TP has dropped once or twice but that is weeks ago and the fall wasn't that great, the hit wasn't that hard and it functioned normal after the drop which was in the grass btw.
I'm sorry to hear your troubling situation. I had a similar situation happen once with my hermes, turns out that the outer rim of the housing was coming in contact with the screen and registering as a contact. I was in the endless alignment until I opened up my phone and closed it again. I had other reasons to open like the speaker cable had also came disconnected. Try running something thin and lint free around the edges of where the housing and screen meet. If that doesnt work I would just return it while its still under warranty.

Weird Problem with the LCD/Screen

I found no mention of this on xda, so I figured I would post. I awoke this morning (late I might add) to a Fuze with the LCD on but a lightly backlit black screen. The phone was unresponsive to all buttons. I gave a soft reset, and the phone rebooted as normal. Now my phone has a myriad of vertical lines spanning the screen. There are about 40 of them about 1 mm wide each. Since this time I have removed battery for about 30 mins, soft reset several times, hard reset twice, and even flashed the original ATT ROM back to the phone (Originally running RRE's latest but I don't fell that was relevant). I think my screen has taken a dive and I am getting ready to call to do an exchange, but would be open to suggestions that would save me a bit of time in the return process. I believe that this is simply a hardware defect however.
Input welcomed.
Hi there
I also had issues with the screen on my touch pro, what is the first few digits of your device?
mine is:
HTC Touch Pro,
HT832K00
issue: screen ghosting and 1 dead pixel
Mine are HT843K91. Did you have the striping effect? How has the replacement treated you?

Fuze touch screen not working - buttons are

Within the last hour my touch screen will not work or respond to anything. I have done a soft reset, removed the battery and nothing. The buttons on the phone work (send, back, home etc.) but the screen wont respond. I noticed a little oil spot in the last few days but it was working fine. I need some help here

I got this problem 2 days ago. If someone changed the screen and it started working please reply it.
Same here.I used to flash NRG's Roms and i had always the same issue. The screen was tapping by her self at the down left side.Only by soft reseting the device it was stopping. Now i tried 2 flash another rom but unfortunately, i'm stuck in the beggining. And 2 be more precise at the screen alignment procedure.Nothing works except the buttons but in this moment are useless

Same problem! I also have the little blue oil spot. Not sure how it happened -- could've sworn it was safe in my pocket since the last time it was working. Did it get wet or something?
