Swype 1.60 crashes on my X10 - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

I'm currently testing Swype on my X10.
I've tried v1.56 and it works perfectly.
v1.60 however keeps on crashing, even after removing the older version and restarting the phone.
Has anyone succesfully installed and used v1.60 on the X10?

Does 1.60 bring any noteworthy improvements?

When did 1.6 come out never got a update for it with my beta version?

Seems to be working ok here. No fc's yet. Maybe try a reinstall!

1.60 didnt work for me either. strange though that it isnt even available officially through the beta programme. I went back to my official 1.56 version as 1.60 just kept force closing.

The 1.60 also keeps crashing on my X10

Would be nice to know, if anyone else running rooted .24 firmware experiences the crashes?

just as an fyi i'm running rooted .23

Oh yea I meant to say .23 rooted. Weird because so am I and it keeps crashing, even after a factory reset.

Try slideit...

why is that weird? It crashes on mine too.
Thing is I have to wonder where this version came from because its not available as an official beta.

Oh yea it was instigator008 who had it running. Guess nothing else to do than wait for an official release and see if it works on the X10, really need the 1.60 because my language is in there

swype is not in the market.
where can i find it to install ?
i'm new with android and X10
Thanks

It's in beta stage, not available to the public yet, unless someone post a download like for us all or you can apply to become a beta test. I did

What a way to make people know that it's not new
New is the version 2.2.1 instead of 2.2 (see history of the page)
Otherwise i don't know what is difference
This isn't new it is the same .sbf that my ROM is based on

Meanwhile I tried it on my phone and I'm still having the flash bug, right after fresh, clean install... Did you apply any fix?

No, no fixes. I did flash over 2.34 though if that makes a difference.
Mods could delete this topic as long as this rom isnt new, so ppl wont spend time here.
Well, I don't know if it's new are not but I do know that it's fully working unlike the last one I tried. I'm a happy guy. Yesterday I thought I had a bricked Defy(thanks to Sorensiim for his McGyver trick) and today I have a fully functional Froyo Defy.
ROM is rooted
3G works
Camera/Flash works
Google apps and market work
For those interisted I went from a clean install of 2.34. Did a wipe. Installed the new(?) chinese froyo 2.2.1 ROM. Wiped again. And all is well.
In this rom, is there a bootloader file?
Maybe there is a unlocked bootloader because some one said he could flash all the time all now?
Which Language is inside?
COuld we go back to stock rom?

Is there a way to force updates?

Just wondered if there was a way in which I could force an update? I've had to revert back to stock firmware and am currently on 2.3.1. Ive tried the CHECKIN method but nothing happened. Any suggestions guys?
you can manually push the update through recovery located here:

Nope..
Do look for the thread titled '2.3.3 link' though. It's rather easy to apply it manually.

Thanks guys
I have done that method before but I think it screwed up my mms hence I would rather receive it OTA just incase. Are they still pushing out the 2.3.2 update for us that are yet to receive 2.3.3?

Probably not. They would probably send you the version that goes from whatever you're on to 2.3.3 since the Android 2.3.3 URL thread has like three different versions.
The alternative is to flash a custom ROM such as CM7, Axura, GingerS, MoDaCo which features 2.3.3 (unsure about GingerS)
I still don't get the 2.3.3 OTA either. Since I had some problem when I was using N1 and tried to update it manually, I decide to wait for OTA in my NS. I am curious why it can take so long time to push out an OTA?
Two reasons: network strain and damage control in the event of Problems.
I'm waiting for the OTA to come through to my other halves new NS which we got yesterday to update from 2.3.1 to either 2.3.2 or better still 2.3.3 but, guess it ain't happening any time soon :-(

Force update in post #2 that I linked. This is the same file you would get from the OTA. All the OTA does is bring a dialog box saying its available for you and it goes to that link. The link was achieved using aLogCat. It's directly from *.google.com

how to force update
Picked up my NS on saturday (so it should be running 2.3.1 right?) Anyway when I go into settings-about phone-system update it says i have latest version. I am fairly confident this is not so. So how do I force update to my NS?

Search for the thread titled '2.3.3 link' and do it manually or wait until you get it pushed down to you. There it's no way to force it OTA (over-the-air)

No offense to the OP, but I find it very odd that people buy a "pure Google experience" android device then manage to forget to use Google.

[Q] Rom Finder off the Market?

Anyone having problems with the Rom Finder app? It's no longer on the Market and the version I have installed has stopped working. It appears to be the latest (2.4.4) but I'm still asked to update when I try to install a rom. Grrr.

Well, we don't have any roms for the Xoom. That could be issue #1.
No, he means roms like for emulators if I'm not mistaken. Which app are you using exactly? I know there are a few in the market. I use Rom Buddy.

I think the Skype on the market is still not compatible with the Thunderbolt yet. There is a leaked version which is.

Supposedly the leaked version still has the vulnerability. Do you have documentation that this was fixed in the leaked version?

New Android Market

I thought the new market update got released last week.
I'm on a unrooted factory Sensation - still no new market here
Has anyone even gotten the new market update?

You can remove updates (market that you install with .apk) and then update to official when update is out for you.
I just got tired of waiting for it and downloaded the latest version for a manual install. From what I've heard, a good amount of U.S. users haven't gotten it yet...
