Upgraded XDA2 running 2003 to an XDA Mini S running 2005. Programmes that I previously had running on 2003 (Amirsys/Elsevier -Pocket Radiologist series). Despite many suggestions and help from Elseviers techies in St Louis they now think it's an incompatibility that cannot be overcome. Has anyone any experience of patches etc or are these programmes now completely useless.
Having said that, I find the functionality of 2005 good with calls made and taken whilst running TomTom 5.21 - which is a vast improvement!
I think the only way is to watch out for a new version which is WM 5 compatible.
But I don't understand how u can make an XDA 2 to an XDA mini s with an rom upgrade? I think u mean something different.
cu
No. I've changed my XDA2 to an XDA Mini S (wizard) which is why I'm now using WM5. Kind of wish I'd stuck with WM3.
Looked in profiles but no option for newer phones

Hello k.griffin (& anyone else who is trying to get the Amirsys soft running under WM5),
I have some "older" programs that won't run on my new Wizard as well (including your example of Amirsys Pocket Radiologist, and, e.g. a PPC dictation program). I think this is an issue for everyone trying to migrate software to WM5 devices, and it is primarily associated with the new flash architecture of WM5.
I posted some questions regarding the Pocket Radiologist software to Elsevier, too. They said a WM5 version is being prepared but nothing has happend for quite a while now.
Interestingly, I have read forum posts that claim that by chance some people had discovered this software (and several other programs that usually can't cope with the WM5 flash architecture) will run after installing the "Arabizer" suite. This is said to be associated with changes in flash memory handling when this peculiar package is installed.
So my question to everyone who is familiar with WM5 and its memory structure: how plausible is that (at the moment I am thinking of ~1% ) ? I am rather unwilling to check it out blindly, because I am not fond of getting into long hours of installing and uninstalling tools for arabic character sets [that I don't need..] in vain..
Can anybody provide some statements on that ?
there is a hack for pocketradiologist so it work with wm5,
let me search it in my harddisk and will post it,but its seem its illegal
Arabizer
I installed Arabizer, but it doesn't makes a difference !
Who has the magical hack or can fix it in the registry ?

AFAIK the file "MSDAERES.DLL" is part of M$ VB runtime for PPC.
I will try to install it on my PDA this afternoon and let you know.
cheers.
I was able to install pocket radiologist without any problem.
First I installed ADOCE.WM5.CAB, then READER APPLICATION.PPC_2577.CAB and CHEST 100.PPC_2577.CAB.
It's quite good except the radiographs are quite small on PDA screen.
What operating system is on your PDA?
cheers.

Hi ttangcho,
thanks for replying. My operating system is WM5. My pda is a qtek 9000 with Spanish Rom. I tried making a soft reset before installing it, and later I tried a hard reset getting the same message in both actions.
I first tried to install ADOCEforMIMSonPDA from WM5 file but i got that message. So couldn´t keep on going.
What would you recomend me?
Thanks in advance buddy

I'm using WM5 WWE and I installed it after hard reset.
Try to install Ms VB Runtime on your device first. This VB runtime includes "MSDAERES.DLL". I hope this work. By the way, I installed it successfully without VB runtime.
cheers,

Good to hear that you were able to install the program. VB runtime is way too big to put in the main memory. If you want to install VB runtime on the RAMdisk or SD card, do the followings.
1. Create "\RAMdisk\Windows" directory
2. Open your reg edit program and add \RAMdisk\Windows\ in the SystemPath
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Loader]
"SystemPath"=\RAMdisk\Windows\ \Windows\..............
(Note. this is Multi_SZ)
or you can cut and paste the following and add to your registry.
----------------------------------------------------
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Loader]
"SystemPath"=hex(7):5c,5c,52,41,4d,64,69,73,6b,5c,5c,57,69,6e,64,6f,77,73,5c,\
5c,00,5c,5c,77,69,6e,64,6f,77,73,5c,5c,6f,65,6d,5c,5c,00,5c,5c,52,65,6c,65,\
61,73,65,5c,5c,00,00,00,00
----------------------------------------------------
3. Soft Reset using SOFTWARE or power off and on couple of times and soft reset using your stylus.
4. Install VB run time on your RAMdisk.
This is how I did in order to install VB Runtime (3MB) and M$ .NET Compact platform 2.0 SP1(2.2MB) on the RAMdisk.
Cheers!
TTangCHo
thanks you all buddies, it worked, at the end, but worked!!!
now i can go with all pocket radiologist on my handheld device, it´s really amazing!!!

IGO 8.0 not work too. IGO 8.3.2 work, but I don't like it version.
Conflict`
there seems to be a conflict between the HTC Home item and iGO2006 - once you have disabled the HTC Home item, iGO2006 will run as if nothing had happened -
(it's always better using the older reliable version rather than installing an updated fat and resources hungry version, I reckon..)
use this igo .exe file, overwrite after install the existing igo.exe in pda
should run then...
hello i have a samsung gt-c6625 and i was planing to use igo on it but i have a probleme..i copy igo on my storage card and when i wana run the .exe from my phone nothing happens actualy i can`t see any exe in my phone! why?
the software : card export for wm6.1 can't install too ,and i had try another for wm2003 ,it can't either!
1,some times the one for wm6.1 can install ,but went i restart the mobile it can't go into the system all the time!
2,some times it can't install, it's "installing" all the time, and then i must hard restart it,if i don't do that the mobile can't work!
no one can help me ?
maybe because hardware
but have "nueMassStorage" like "card export"
Yes nueMassStorage is very good if you ask me
You can use WM5 Stogage too. It works OK and it's free
clrcad.exe not working when I try to use it before starting android 2.2 on my htc hd2. need help thanks
I had the same problem as well, hoping for a solution
+1
Same here, I run it before launching linux but still have teh same audio problem.
bump.
Anybody know what problem is?
bumpin...
same problem here.
hm. No help huh...
I've got the same problem.
ditto... i think we need some support over here lol
I can't run it any more - it says "CLRCAD cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found... blah blah" I've tried deleting it and copying over a new copy but it still doesn't work - it worked the first couple of times though?
I have the same problem. And even more: after trying run clrcad.exe now I can't run any exe from sd card!
Solution to CLRCAD.exe will not execute.
I have an HTC HD2. I have been playing around with different android builds for the last week. About two days ago CLRCAD.exe stopped working for me. I ignored it and continued to load. It was only when I got an extemely garbbled called that I realized how important it was to have CLRCAD.exe working. I tried reformatting my SD Card with not luck in getting it to work. Tried searching the forum and gave up and googled the problem which in turn lead me to this post and it seems a lot of people have this issue. I don't know the cause yet....but in a flash I thought about doing a factory restore for the windows 6.5. Eureaka!!!!! that solved my problem !!!!!
I done the same thing thinking a factory restore would solve the problem - but no..., it's not recognised on me pc nor my device - keep gettin the error "This is not a windows 32bit application."
same problem here.
Winmob does simply nothing if I click on clrcad.exe. No question if I want to run it or something.
Anybody got any idea what the problem could be?
Hellbanan

Did you resolve this issue? I have the same problem and have searched for the resolution but have not found anything. Help!
Hard Reset worked for me - but still now I have to deal with black-outs (no wake-up screen up)...
Raman HTC hd2
Hi have installed successfully android on htc hd2,but having problem with calls.
i will not able to hear voice of others.
have run the clrad.exe even after, any suggestions ?
This is quite strange, because I have had Froyostone Sense V3.1 running on my stock HD2 for nearly a month without any issues. Then out of the blue, the screen went blank yesterday, so I rebooted, and then tried to run CLRCAD from the Android folder.
I then got "CLRCAD cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found" message. So I downloaded the latest Froyosense, and copied over the system.ext2 and the zImage files, and a clean CLRCAD and HARET. But still I get the same thing. And I get that message on HARET as well.
Does anyone know the cause and best resolution, preferably without the factory reset?
Same issue here too. Interestingly, when I run CLRCAD, i get the same interference on the WMOS as well as ANDROID.
same here.....the exe simply does nothing when i click it.
and i cannot load android at all...............after loading the kernel for a while , the phone rebooted back to WM!!!
I am able to run CLRAD.exe and I know that is normal that nothing happens but I have problem that after loading ANDROID there is no any sound. I also tried to reset factory settings... So is there any solution to this or not?
SOLVED by Kwbr_HD2 ROM, but again stopped working after few reboots!
The first time i excecuted clrcad.exe a message appeared "do you really.. bla bla bla" (u know what i mean) which ich answered with YES. Then some days later i did a reboot and since this time the message didn't appear. But Android works also great without the message. I tryed to figure out if there is running clrcad.exe in wm but i cant see it. So, i have no clue if clrcad.exe is running, but Android works. The Sound is good!
I got this Surface recently and like dozens of others the touchscreen stopped working.
I tried everything.
-Let the battery drain.
-Resetted it via its internal recovery (delete everything)
-Deinstalled Firmware Touch (2.1.15.0 - 12.08.2013) and Firmware Configuration (0.0.33.0 - 12.08.2013)
-HID Touchscreen (6.3.9600.16384 - 21.06.2006)
-Restarted
-Windows Installed just "Firmware" then and claimed its the newest one...:silly:
-I read there was Firmware 2.1.17.0 (but only for Surface 2 WiFi... (?)
-And I read about KB3172729 which led to this problem according to this link :
https://forums.windowscentral.com/microsoft-surface-2/313399-2.htm
But its a 2016 KB and my Surface got its last updates in 2014.
-I read about custom Recovery Images...but only downloaded an original recovery from MS (Surface2_BMR_20.2.19.0.zip)
which I installed (deleted TPM via F12) and only had issues whiel entering a password for the user...cursor dissapeared and it was laggy as hell.
It installed but no touchscreen.
Time to ask on xda I thought...also Id love to get back to Windows 8.0 RT if possible. (?)
Thanks in advance.
Desperately I did now try :
Stopped service "Windows Update"
Deleted all files in: C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\download (it did indeed have 4 temp folders with updates from today)...
-cmd (as admin)
-DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
100% restore operation completed succesfully
-sfc /scannow
Verification up to 100%, no problems found. -_-
Then started Windows Update. "searching for updates"...it took 10 minutes and showed all updates, including a Firmware (09.11.2015) and the "evil" KB3172729.
I just selected the Firmware thing, which turns out indeed to be the 2.1.17.0 (07.10.2015). Surface restarted and I
got the yellow exclamation Mark in the device manager at the Firmware...like many others before me...just great -_-
Additonally The Microsoft Management Console stopped working...wow...
Still, no touchscreen.
https://www.errorsolutions.tech/error/windows-update-error-code-80244010/
Trying to re-update the firmware keeps showing a "Searching online for drivers"...I cant cancel it.
Installed 1,5GB updates now, without the "evil" KB3172729.
No touchscreen.
I start to regret getting my hands on this device. Seriously Microsoft, wtf ?
Mario,
did you find any solution yet? I tried everything also and still not working.
iResmas
me too ... I got a surface 2, I tried different ways to find a solution for the problem of ''touch firmware = Yellow exclamation mark on it in Device manager'' and still not working.
I downloaded all given updates, but nothing happened, still not working.
PLZ .... guide me to find the right SOL.
