Does an "engineering" SPL exist for CDMA? - Hero CDMA Android Development

All the SPLs I see for unrestricted Fastboot flashing are for GSM or for other models. I really don't want to brick my Hero testing them out. Is there an equivalent SPL for the CDMA Hero?

T-Mobile SPL Question

The T-Mobile Vario III that I have came with SPL v1.56.0000.
I have downloaded the HTC SPL v1.56.0000. Is this the same SPL as the original T-Mobile or will I need a T-Mobile specific SPL?

That will be the one you need.
If you really need the right one, there is a thread on reverting you the OEM SPL. You just extract it from a Dumped ROM.

The dumped T-Mobile UK ROM package available here does not have an SPL. Also, there is no downloadable T-Mobile ROM 'upgrade' which contains the SPL.
Would it be possible to dump the SPL from another device? If so, how?
I just tried dumping one and it also doesn't contain the SPL.
Just flash the 1.56 SPL you downloaded.

GSM or CDMA . how do i know ?

Got my HTC Diamond touch p3700
How do i know if its GSM or CDMA ? becuse i want to flash my phone so i can get win 6.5 on it!
if you got a sim card then it's gsm
Flash the gsm hard spl onto it. If you brick your phone, it was probably cdma.

Help Please, which is the right Hardspl

hello everyone!
so I bricked my old sprint tp2 with a wrong spl.
tomorrow i am picking up my new one.
can you please tell me once and for all, what is the right Hardspl for the Sprint tp ?!?!?!?!??

or do I need a different version?
thanks for all the helpers!
that is the one you need.
just remember that if the device does cdma of any kind then you always want a cdma rom, radio, and unlocker. Never put a gsm anything on a phone that does any cdma

Ditto, not that he needs my vote, just thought I would add that you need to remember three things.
1. remove your SD card before trying to hardspl your phone
2. make sure your GSM sim card is in before you try to flash hardspl
3. remove any gsm rhodimg or *.nbh files out of your SD card root directory
yep that's the right one, I used that one on my sprint TP2 and it worked great

What, exactly, is the SPL?

Sup xda,
I've been dabbling in custom Android ROMs since I got my HTC Hero a few months after launch, and although I mostly understand how everything works I'd like to learn more about the inner workings of our phone software.
I hear the phrase SPL thrown around a lot, such as MoDaCo's unlocked Hero SPL and the idea that playing with the SPL is one way to brick your phone if you mess up. From these scattered discussions, I've gathered that the SPL is some piece of extremely low-level software that must have control over some basic phone functions and hardware, but I want to know more. I don't even know what SPL stands for, or what (exactly) it does - any kind and knowledgeable members care to enlighten me?
An SPL, unlocks the phones bootloader which the OEM locks down so you can only put ROMS from your carrier on the phone. If you flash an SPL you can load any custom ROM on your phone.

And please someone explain i tin "SP-for-dummies". I'm new to the phone hacking world.

[Q] Radio and SPL IPL upgrading

I have one big "Strategic" question i have htc elf, i understand concept of ROM upgrading and what it does. However i am unsure about SPL IPL and RADIO
I would be grateful if someone explained shortly what they do and why should i upgrade them
Thanks in advance
What is a SPL? The SPL, or Second Program Loader, in conjunction with the IPL comprise a device's bootloader. Aside from bootstrapping Android, the bootloader also fulfills various diagnostic functions. One of these functions is the manipulation of data in the device's internal flash ram. Depending on the SPL installed, the user can apply a signed NBH file, flash nand images, and more. Note that the SPL is installed and operates independently of the Android build that runs atop it.
hope this helps

The most suitable SPL/IPL is the lastest version of Hard SPL avaible for your device, which opens the device to the wonder world of custom ROMs. Even if you don't plan to use custom ROMs, having Hard-SPL will enable you to use official ROMs from different carriers or HTC own official ROMs for regions that the device is sold unlocked by HTC.
RE:
Thanks People You helped me very much
HTCRT
BTW on elf wiki link for newest SPL IPL's are broken and also htcrt link is missing where can i report that ?
The USPL for Elf is still available in the Elf device forum. Search my friend!

I don't have an HTC Elf myself, use at your own risk.
