Personal Notes
- I usually let a bunch of feeds queue up and listen to them while going to work/school.
- The UI could probably use improvement, but the purpose of the app is to allow you to not look at your phone/computer to get your RSS news.
- The TTS is robotic, but it is the built-in voice, so I can't do much about that.
- I try to fix bugs I find as soon as possible if I can in my free time.
Feedback
I welcome any feedback for improving the app.
Please post requests/problems/comments here.
Enjoy!
UPDATE!
- FeedSpeak Lite now available for FREE! Enjoy!
- (Note: This version will receive less updates and features than Pro version)

Nice idea Is the app free? If not you shouldn't really post it on this site.

Thanks!
Sorry, the app isn't free ($0.99).
Please forgive my posting of it here.
A 'lite' version for Free is in the works though...

So I just took some time to release a Lite version of FeedSpeak... Enjoy!

I love it! Revolutionary, well done! Whats the difference between this one and the lite version?

Wow. Thanks!
The free version is really just a fork of the Pro version, starting at v1.9.6. It simply has features disabled, and it will not get as much attention for updates that the Pro version will.
Here is a list of differences:
Free
No article/summary topic filtering
Fixed to fetch 100 articles at one time
Cannot speak article summaries, just titles
Less likely to receive new updates
Pro
Filter out and skip articles with key words
Can control how many articles [40-260] to fetch at once
Can speak article titles and/or summaries
Updated with new features by request (if possible)
I hope this helps!

You can find out how your premium version can go into marketplace, along with your free version.

Some day i would like to see this on WM
Man i would wish this for WM HD2 looks F* brilliant.
Or my next phone must be a Android:S

Will try it out (June 23rd)
Won't get an Android till June 23rd. AT&T Captivate launches 18th, but won't be home to buy it. Will let you know how it goes and compares to a typical visual reader like NewsRob.

Hi everyone, thanks for the interest!

I hope you enjoy the app! FeedSpeak isn't meant to replace a visual reader, and NewsRob is probably the best visual one, but it comes in handy when you want to listen to stuff while doing other things.

Maybe, but certainly not in the first version. I need to figure out a way where a widget would work.

Great app!
Got a request:
I would love to have b/w or grayscale notification graphics to choose instead of coloured ones, would go much better with my theme.
Keep up the good work!

I agree. A trial version of sorts would be nice, along with a place to find an updated changelog. Your website and AppBrain don't show everything.

Wow this is freaking awesome. if this is java, will it work on like your windows mobile too? then you can support 2 formats at once?
Another small question. Slacker will become on-demand soon. Will you take a dive into there app side and compete and see if you can do the same as you do here with Grooveshark? I never seen anyone make a Slacker app. What id give is for a Windows Mobile one that actually works that shows the whole screen.
SciLor! Oh man when I saw your post I was so stoked. Welcome to Android development Any chance of a DL'er as in WM?

The "official" Grooveshark app requires you to be a "VIP" member to use it, whereas scilor's app does not .
It is free and may have different features.
Any news on an updated release?

Maybe that guy is referring to the fact that grooveshark frowns upon 3rd praty apps so you might as well just get a hacked official app if you are gonna get something frowned upon. That being said,
This is freaking exciting. The only reason I hesitated moving from winmo to android was because of scilors apps. For now I have a vip membership but i will definitely be keeping a test version of this on my phone as well. I wish I had a spare android device to send him.
Thank you for the "device" , but I managed to get Android working on my HD2.
Which Apps are you exactly missing on Android?
Looking at your list grooveshark dler would be nice.
I'm definitely looking forward to a downloader on Android. Keep up the good work!

definitely the downloader and at the time i didn't have vip access so I thought i was gonna have to go grooveshark-less. I lived on the 2 groovemobile apps when i had winmo.

I check the TOOLband.com website, and couldn't find Rss or Atom feeds? Are you sure you there are Rss/Atom feed for TOOLband.com? If so, make sure you provide the exact link to AppYet.com when you create/update application.
very slick, and nice widgets as well...
Does $49 give you one app, or the ability to create many?
I just created an app for my blog, This is just awesome guys, Good JOB!!
toolband does not have RSS but there are ways to make any site RSS compatible, the process is just very tedious. Wish i had a TOOLarmy app.
Wonder if this will work for my blogspot blog or my djing website.
Just got it setup for a freelance website that I use. Gotta say this is nice. Now I will make an icon to go with my app. I think that maybe a share and share alike on the forum would play nice. lol. I dont mind sharing what I create.

Thanks for the heads up/info. Now I got two more questions:
(1) For the membership being around $40, is it for a month or year?
(2) On my djing website (podomatic), can it play/download the mp3? Its djemzine.podomatic.com by the way if you want to take a look at it (based on your time) and see if something can be done.

(1) It is for life-time, with free upgrade and bug fixes. Let's say, in the future we added support for mutilingual and support Youtube, you will able to have choice to upgrade to latest version without additional charge
(2) base on the link you provided, i found the Rss for the site: http://djemzine.podomatic.com/rss2.xml
You will able to play the podcast online, right now it doesn't support podcast playback offline, but we will consider to add this feature in the future

Dark Theme feature coming soon~~
Good app, my wants/suggestions.
-provide a "near me" option to search wikipedia pages near my current location. Love this function when traveling.
-Queue mode. Maybe long press of a link within an article adds to your reading list. Or maybe long press opens article in new tab. This is useful when reading pages and coming across articles you want to read later, but allows you to continue reading current article without having to navigate to the new article.
-save offline pages to sdcard.
As far as I know none of the wikipedia apps have all of these features. It would be nice to get down to one Wiki app on my phone. Thanks for the great app!

No feedbacks?
App seems nice. It could be interesting to have a widget instead of opening app and I don't like when then text couldn't fit the page that you link to the site to read the rest of the news.

The idea is pretty good, a widget would make it great !
Even more with the new DayDram mode on Android 4.2 you could have your facts randomly displayed when the devices are docked or charging.

I just wanted to know whether this is happening for new installations!

The app or the video I just created?
What do you think about the new updates and the cool facts I have added to the app?
I could use some more feedback to improve the app!
Somebody please help me and give me more ideas!
Did a UI improvement, let me know your thoughts!
Nice work
Cool Facts App just ahad a major UI revamp and now supports a lot more compared to the previous version.
Some updated functionalities include:
* Report false facts
* Copy the fact to clipboard and use/share it wherever you want!
Hope you like it, let me know your suggestions!
Force closes when I press "copy to clipboard" but other than that, cool.
Personally, if I were you, I would add a possibility to hide all the buttons at the buttom of screen for users who wouldn't use them. Maybe make the text a bit smaller (it's bigger on my 2.3.7 Gingerbread than on your screenshots, though) and maybe make the text "justify aligned" (I'm a bit fan of "justify alignment", lol)... Just some tips to make the app look a bit more simplistic, maybe.

Thanks a lot for the feedbacks!
I think I can include a button to toggle the visibility of all the buttons! that would be okay right?
I think the clipboard function is making the error because of your older version. I think I will have to check the version on which the app is running and then decide whether or not to show the button!

Possibly.
Make a text size adjuster too, if you can .. and maybe center allign the text if "justify" is not possible in Androd (I dont think it is).
Just some tips
Added button to disable all the buttons!
Let me know how do you like the new update!
I like facts, so I like this app . It is also a bit addicting searching for new facts which are more or less useful to know .
