I havn't used the phone in a long time, and I'm trying to sell it.
So I put my SIM Card in to delete everything on it, and it asked for a Phone Lock password. I don't remember setting a password. So how do I get past this?
Is there some sort of hard reset? Or a default code?
Thanks in advance.

Is anyone aware of an application that can softreset a PPC phone and restart it without having to go thru the process of keying in your pin code each time??
In the same way that a cash point card could be used without a PIN code to withdraw cash?
Correct me if I am wrong, I think you may be looking at a hard reset.
I'm not sure if this is what your asking but it is possible to disable asking for a pin code. But when your phone gets lost or stolen everybody will be able to use your sim...
Anyway:
Settings -> Phone
Uncheck "Require PIN when phone is used"
What I am talking about is an app like SpriteBackup which can after backing up your device restart it and aquire a GSM signal without asking for the pin code.
actually, you would need a software that is able to do soft reset and key in the pin code. none so far, but there are software thaty can key in the pin code.. like phonealarm.
Thanks ,will check it out.
If you keep the phone in flight mode then it will not ask for the PIN when restarting.
Hello
In settings you have the option "find my phone".
Is there a solution that you can put a password on it.
Example:
My phone is stolen or lost.
And somebody have my phone he can now go to settings and turn the option "find my phone" off. And I can't find my phone anymore.
If there a password on it, then can't the other person turn it off.
And I can find my phone again.
Is there an app or something else?

You can try using the default lock screen password. Then, if your phone is lost or stolen and someone finds it, forget about him getting in the settings, he would not be able to get pass your lock screen without the password.

Maybe can someone create that?
Because then you have a second block for that person
I have a Galaxy s4. My 4 year old was playing with it yesterday and it is now locked. I had a swipe protection on it and he did it so many times that it went to 'enter a pin code". I have NO idea what the pin code is! So I spoke with Verizon and Samsung and they gave me different generic codes to use and none of which worked. So they told me to use google device manager. I was able to locate the phone. It rang when I hit ring. So they told me to lock it. I typed in a new password and confirmed it. My screen lit up with a lock screen. I entered the password and it said "entered unsuccessfully". I tried using a password with a cap...then we tried with just numbers...then we tried with just letters and no caps... nothing worked. and now the pin code screen is not coming up. Just the locked by device manager is.
We took the SIM card out and it still rang and we tried a new password and that didn't work.
I have no idea what I am missing. I don't want to have to reset because I will loose over half of my contacts and word docs and pics. (I don't use backup and I don't have an SD card)
Thank you for any help anyone can offer!!!!!!
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. It sounds to me like you need a PUK code? Your carrier wasn't able to provide you with one?

Hi guys
Currently I still have access to my phone using my fingerprint, but for some reason the device is not recognising the PIN that I set it up with. I know exactly what I typed in for the PIN and since they make you type it twice for confirmation I find it unlikely I'd have entered the same wrong PIN twice but evidently I did mess up.
Now I'm locked out from anything requiring the PIN. Do I have any chance at resetting the PIN?

Aaaand it dawned on me today that I inadvertently changed my PIN when I was toying around with some of the features on cloud.huawei.com

I'm afraid you only have one option: Backup everything with the built in Huwawei Backup to your external SD. Remove it and perform a factory reset, then restore everything from the backup. Careful with restoring security/system settings, you might end up on square one. This is the only solution I can think of and this will cost you some time and you will have to set up a couple of things again.
Oh, and just for (my) safety: Proceed at your own risk Good luck, mate!
So my friend put a pattern lock on my 1st gen moto g(xt-1033)(non-root) and by the time I came to realize what happened and asked him the pattern, he had forgotten the pattern crying:). We have tried several patterns but I am still locked out. I am not sure if debugging was on or not and it's not detected by any pc for some reason (I guess you have to unlock it first for the pc to detect it).
I really can't afford to do a factory reset. I need the data.
Can any dev or anyone help me unlock my phone without losing any data?
I'd really really appreciate any kind of help.
TIA.
