I've heard that Android originally includes Fieldtest app,which shows detailed info about mobile network etc. However SE has removed it from X10.
But i managed to find 2 different fieldtest.apk files on the net and tried to install them. Unfortunately both of them failed to install with the error message "this application cannot be installed on this phone". I've rooted my phone and tried again but still the same failure. What could the problem be and could it be fixed somehow?
Also failed to install via adb.
Still in need of solution for this.

When i try to install Pointui 1.5a on Dr. Gonzo's WM6.1 rom i get the following error:
Installation was unsuccesfull. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions.
What is this.. i havent had this before. Anyone know a fix? I tried the SDA unlocker.

You need to unlock it. My phone can be successfully unlocked only by Orange's cab, then i can do anything with registy or files in /Windows.
I did a lot of customization to my phone, so I can't possibly list all the programs I have. Last thing I remember doing was installing Opera Mini with a JAVA client (I think JBed). It kept crashing, so I uninstalled it.
Now whenever I go to run IE, I get this error message:
The file 'MortScript' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

I've never explicitly installed MortScript before that message. I have since downloaded and installed MortScript from http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&action=list&category=18 but it didn't solve the problem.

Hello Guys,
Has anyone of you encountered this error message? "The program you have installed may not display properly because it was designed for a previous version of Windows mobile software".
I encountered this problem when i downgraded my rom from Master Efsane's WM6.5 to 2003se..Before that, the hima doc tool of Masther Ather doesn't work so i tried the other hima doc tools on this site..anyway, i tried flashing my himalaya with different roms but i keep on getting this error message. Right now i couldn't use some applications that are previously working with wm6.5. I already tried to flash different EXTroms but it didn't resolve the issue..this is very frustrating..please advise..
Don't worry. It's just a warning because the developer of the program have design it for a previous version of windows. All the programs that gave me that warning are working without problem .-
Actually, it has nothing to do with the program itself but a version number listed in the CAB file - it's pretty much completely irrelevant, though.
The problem is, i could no longer use the applications that i could previously use on WM6.5...it only happened after downgrading to 2003..don't you guys find it weird???

First problem:
I have an unlocked LG E900 by Developer Unlocker. I'm able to install (.xap) applications without problems but, when I install them using Bazaar (for PC) something goes wrong. The installation is ok, but when I try to run the application I get an error. Applications installed by Bazaar rarely work.
Second problem:
After unlocking my LG E900 with Developer Unlocker I did the Interop-Unlock. I installed some applications and everything was ok. Later, I tried to install some more and I got this error "0x89731812". I suppose it's because of the "Interop". I go to MFG and do everything as I was told (in the Interop-Unlock), I click in Query and I get "2147483647". Everything is has it should.
What's happening?

Can you describe the error you get with Bazaar apps? Not all of the apps on Bazaar will work, even on an interop-unlocked phone, even with WP7 Root Tools used for root unlock. Some of those apps require full-unlock.
The second error you're getting is not the interop-lock error. I don't know what it is, but have you tried doing a web search on it? Also, what tool are you using to install the apps?
came upon this LG p500 and was able to somehow resurrect it to be able to connect to PC SUITE IV but still few problems remains.
market "A server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen."
the retry panel will reappear for 2 times then goes to loading and nothing follows, just shows loading.
tried what's on other sites and a post from here as well i think? the one that needs data to be cleared.
tried the one that needs rooting but can't install apk from sd card. says parse problem.
the time and date is correct.
i think this is stock rom.
software version: LG-P500-V20g
updated this using LG PC SUITE IV to android version 2.3.3
hope some help from the devs here since youtube and other sites are no help.
