Hi guys, i have the palm treo 750 with the wm 6.5 and o need to go back to the original wm 5.0. I've tried everything but no results. i put the rom in my sd card in did the hard-reset, but didn't loading at all, i tried many differents roms, but none of them worked. It shows that tri colour screen with these informations: Palm Tr ( IPL- 0.20)
Palm tr (SPL- 0.24.0000
Another thing my treo doesn't connect with pc, so i have to to do everything with sd card.
I'm using windows 7 64bits.
Please help me i need to downgrade
Thanks
You can't flash a ROM from an SD card without doing a successful HardSPL first. By virtue of your post (SPL- 0.24.0000) you haven't done it correctly yet.
I don't know if there is a way to HardSPL the phone from an SD card. Search this forum to see if anyone has reported doing it.
PS ... don't go back to WM5. There are many official and stable versions of WM6.0 which is much better than WM5.
Thx, but i still not having any result, if anybody else can help, pls, i'm trying everything.
Well, obviously you aren't trying everything ... like doing simple research.
A quick Google search turned up that Palm doesn't have (or plan to put out) a 64bit USB driver for the Treo 750. That would explain why you can't connect it to your PC.
This thread on the subject is pretty old, but then again, so is the phone ...

So, you might want to find a PC with a 32bit OS on it and try getting your Treo to sync to it instead. If that works, then installing a factory ROM will be fairly easy. Keep in mind, you might have to edit the payload.xml file because the installer will see a more recent version of the ROM already on your phone (assuming you really have WM6.5 on it now).

There are plenty of official WM6.0 ROMs available. That would be your best option. You can find many of them here:

Problem solved, just install a program that made my mobile come back to the wm 5.0.
Thanks all
You might want to share your solution with the board in case others have the same issue and need help.

Hello, I have unlocked my Cheetah thanks to all of you and saw a link on the site for a "full" 6.1 version, which I did, and it seems to be missing some things to I really want to go back to my original ATT 2.25 (original WM 6.0). I try to do this via the desktop and SD updater but since the version is newer on my Treo it will not allow me to do so. Can anyone help this newbie with instructions on how to accomplish this?
On another note a friend turned me on to your site and this is really awesome and I thank you for all of your time and help with all you do here!
You should not have any problem doing it via the SD card method. I did it on my other Treo. I dont know where exactly the hic up is. You should check your process again.

Use the SD card method, thats what I used to go back to ATT 2.25 wm 6.0
1. have you tried using the KaiserCustomRUU to load the ROM? Worked like a champ for me. just need to be sure to rename the ROM "RUU_signed.nbh"
2. using the official updater you need to modify the payloads.xml
Code:
<carrier_codes>CNG,ATT</carrier_codes>
(of course you may need to modify to match your carrier)
Code:
<revision_range>
<low>1.13</low>
<high>3.00</high>
</revision_range>
3. SD as last resort IMO since it takes forever to get the ROM on the card (assuming its already formatted fat32)

Use MTTY and do a "Task 2a" then flash any ROM you want.
Hi All,
I have been searching and not able to find a solution that works with the problem i am having upgrading my rom.
I was trying to upgrade to either or L26_KaiserTouch_V1M2D.rar or L26KDV12_Full.rar
roms, and after unpacking, running the utilities i keep hitting the same wall.
I have two pcs i have tried on, a laptop and a desktop both running xp.
Uninstalled active sync reinstalled etc etc
even tried the hard spl after using MTTY to try and solve the problem.
I still get error 262, even with hard spl which runs a different rom update.
tried different usb ports, unplugged most devices to the basics, restarts etc make no change to it.
Then i tried a fat32 micro sd card with the rom named as KAISIMG.nbh
and after using MTTY as listed by Laurentius26, it will show loading but not just sits there for more than 10 mins!
Hopefully someone can come up with a solution or has had the same probs.
As you could probably imagine i have a moderate grasp of this kinda stuff but i think its now beggining to drive me crazy!
Cheers,
Nathan

you have already Hspl 3.29 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396922
also if you don't have WWE phone.. (English language)
you must unlock your phone with this steps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361236
and on activesync settings you must check usb connecting..
try the usb from your mouse to see if working...
good luck
also try AthineOS Manila Edition Rom hehehehe
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=435345
Had a go at putting on Hardspl 3.56 also 3.29. even the forced Usb versions.
I can update to any standard Kaiser/Tytn2 Rom but any of these other cooked roms seem to give me grief.
I even thought perhaps i could run the other original rom update, so i did that and copied the different Nbh files in and renamed to what the original rom was but it still wouldn't allow me to get to where i wanted to get.
Is there any special way i can get Hardspl onto my device?
Can i copy it to the sd card and load it thru a bootloader?
This error 262 is driving me nuts!
I spent well over 4 hours of constant messing about and testing any possible solutions.
plus a further 2 today!
This is my last resort!
I'll be more than happy to donate to these rom developers once i get one working.
Even attempted the manilla AthineOS without luck.
I keep reading about the JumpSPL and SSPL, is anyone able to explain or link to where i can get it for the Kaiser ?
OR is it the same thru the whole series ?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
There is SOOO much to learn!
The more you know the more you realise you dont know!!
Use jump spl first, I reccomend 1.56, then install your spl of choice, I personally use 3.56
Place jump spl on your phone and run it from the phone, keeping your usb cord attached, you will get a tri colored screen. Now in active sync comm settings uncheck allow usb commections. unplug the usb cord wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. then from your pc open the folder hard spl and run kaiserRUU and after its done go back to active sync allow usb connections and flash your ass off.
Woo Hoo!!
Finally i got it working, I was beggining to think perhaps there was something stupidly wrong with my pc or the Tytn!
Thank you very much for your reply KD8DNS, Also thanks to b16b After so many hours of mucking round i've finally got it sorted!
Now running Kaiser Diamond V12, it works very well.
Will be looking to change to many other roms in the near future!
Cheers,
Nathan

Hello,
before I get into my problem description: yes, I did read all (or most of) the upgrade and troubleshoot guides in this forum, but I still can't figure out what's going wrong when I try to flash a 6.1 ROM. So any help is appreciated.
Device: G3 S200
here is what I did:
hardSPL
flash the ROM with a 6.1 ROM found in this forum (I tried 4 or 5 different ones by now)
hard reset
the problem: the device is stuck in the tri-colored bootloader screen after the upgrade (I still have the USB connection)
I can go back to the old AKU2.2 image, but any upgrade to WM6.1 seems to fail.
A more bit of info: I did successfully upgrade my device to an AKU 3 image a year (?) ago (following the instructions from this forum). That worked like a charm.
My PC runs XP SP2 and ActiveSync 4.5.
Does anybody have any idea, what could be going on? I would hate to have to go back to an AKU 2.2 ROM :-(
Thanx a million!
Katrin
successful upgrade
Hello,
just wanted to report back that after some more trying, I finally managed to get a 6.1 image working. I used the "alternative lazy tool" mentioned in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353547 with a pdaviet rom.
Thank you to everybody on this forum for all the great work and for sharing it with the rest of us!
Thanx,
Katrin
- I am so glad that I can continue to use my S200 -
I am a newbie but slowly learning from everyone on here. I just have a couple of questions before I start. First, I found the step by step directions on how to do the flash from 6.1 to 6.5 but it is for a Diamond and I have a Fuze. Will I be able to use the exact same steps or will I run into something different. Second, I have vista on my pc and my sync doesn't work. I have searched and tried everything. My cd from the phone doesn't load any software onto my pc because it says it has problems with vista. Anytime I put a new cab on my phone I have to put my sd card into the pc directly and load onto it. Will I be able to use my sd card the same to flash the ROM with the things like hardspl and the rest of the programs I need?
Thanks for the help
Your answer is here my friend.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Raphael
There are some great roms for HTC Fuze/Raphael.
Good luck.
You have to flash hard spl off of a pc, but once you do that, you can (and should, imo) flash radios and roms off an sd card. The pc needs to have net framework 3.5 installed-that seems to trap a lot of noobs. And make sure that the anti-virus protection is turned off, when flashing and when downloading and extracting the hard spl package. If you put your fuze into bootloader before connecting it to the pc, it won't matter if active sync is installed or not (I'm pretty sure on that). It should say 'usb' or something like that on the screen when you connect to the pc in bootloader mode. I'll let you look up how to go into bootloader, it's in the noob flashing thread (also check fuzemobility).
As for the sync issues, Vista stock WMDC has issues with Windows Mobile 6.1. You need an update. Grab it from here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center-download.mspx
Hello All,
Normally I don't post and do a lot of reading, there is a lot of reading and a lots of headaches.. But never the less it is a bobbyist game. So this is the few time that I post I hope it help some of you guys out there having problem with the flashing of your Rom. But if you brick you Treo don't blame me O.K.
First of all..follow the unlock and unblock guide by navenedrob in this forum. till step 11..I can't do the SD card flashing either..so I just put the (whatever rom file without renaming it) in the tempche directory( that is the directory it generate itself when you run the Cheetah unlocker program.) then run the RUUWrapper program, then it should do the update for whtever rom you want..sometime it will tkae a few second before it takes off to update..so be very patient..and wait...
Once that is done you have to do a hard reset while the Palm logo is showing. then you should be able to do whichever rom you want..
I was able to flash back and fore from the WM6.5 to WM6.1 without any problems.
BTW I am running this in WIndows 7, I don't think it matters..but I can put the Treo in a Boot mode( the tre color screen) and the Cheetah unlock program still find it. IMF I think the cheetah program find it fast in that mode..so give it a try.
If that still don't still don't get you to where you want to be, then I guess do some more reading. there is a tons of good reading material in this forum.
Sorry for the long post..and Good Luck
yup, before that you must had step 1 running as well (connected your treo to activesync)..
How can I connected and run the unlocker if I stuck in palm logo ?? If I runs the cheetahunlocker it will stop at error connection...
Nothing to do if the phone alreary stop the activesync ... isn't it ???
