Samsung Moment Data issues - General Topics

Has anyone had problems activating Data services after rooting?
I puchased a used Samsung Moment (Sprint) that was rooted. I was able to activate the phone partially the manual way. (Updated ph# and MSID). But my data wont work and the phone itself will not 'self activate'. I have flashed and re-flashed, unrooted and re-rooted. Wiped and did hard resets. The phone simply will not activate the DATA. Also the MSL is ##000000# and some of the other sprint codes do not work, i.e ##775# (PRL) and the original MSL. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what I can try? Sprint already thinks the phone was 'modified' and thats why it wont connect. I am currently back to default settings with ECLAIR.D03

[Q] HELP:After Hard Reset my phone can not connect to a network services

My phone is Verizon xv6875, I am from China.
I made a Hard reset (by press and hold the Volume down, Send key and Power key, then Press the Volume up).
But after reboot the phone, it can not connect to a network services, says no service. I have a GSM SIM Card with China Mobile service.
I've tried different networks with SIM cards which are working well with other phones.
Also I have tried my GSM SIM Card with other phones, and it works well.
I have reflashed a custom ROM, sim card detected, and switch to global mode. but still no service.
Verizon xv6875:
Radio verison:1.96.0ESN

Anyone can give me some suggestions?
I need your help!
I have contacted with HTC, and I was told this device was customer made by a personal company.
But show Verizon logo at the top of this device.
Hard reset (Not System Wipe device) may lose something in RAM.
And dial *228 nothing happened.
Is it needs to activate the phone?
What I can do?
I have reflashed a Chinese Arlen's patched radio, after rebooting shows Radio 1.96.0ESN, but still dos not work.
With help of "Xiaolei", a Chinese people, My device is working fine now.
It is need to use QPST-Software Download to restore Data backup from a device working fine, and reboot.
So, Verizon xv6875 we cannot make Hard reset, it my lost some network data.
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

[Q] HTC apps missing from marketplace??!

I bought the HTC Titan from AT&T and unlocked it for use here in Toronto (Canada) on Telus Mobility. On intial set up I had access to the HTC apps.. I think even the Telus exclusive apps showed up later which was cool. Anyway.. the phone went bonkers and I had to hard reset.
Now I have no access to HTC apps at all. If I try to get them through the HTC hub it says they are unavailable to my region. Wrong! I had the HD7 before this and had access to them as well.
I've done a few more hard resets.. One time I even had access to the US only apps when I shouldn't have. But no matter what I can't get back the HTC apps in the Marketplace. I tried messing with my region settings in settings.. no change.
Could this have anything to do with me already syncing with Zune last night.. possibly causing a region issue? Perhaps I should do a hard reset without the sim card in and try to access the marketplace via wi-fi only?
Any suggestions??
iam testing...
I did some testing as well last night..
Seems the only way to resolve the issue was perfroming a hard reset without any sim card installed AND by installing apps by wi-fi.

No Data on Sprint Suddenly

Short and sweet. I am unable to activate data all of a sudden on Sprint. My other family member's phones work fine, but I cannot update the profile or the PRL. It just says "Network Error, try again later." Phone calls work fine, and my baseband and all that jazz are showing. It also shows 3G occasionally, but it still says network disconnected. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Update: I've reflashed EFS, and that seems to get me data on most ROMs, except Android L and stock 4.4.4. The second they try to do hands-free/update profile or prl, the update fails and I can't get data. Any ideas? Could it possibly be my SIM card? What's weird is that even when I have a data connection(like on the restored efs), I still can't update profile or PRL...
I've searched the internet for the past week, and nothing has worked. I haven't had a chance to call Sprint and complain, but this is starting to be quite frustrating. I've had data the whole time, but I still can't update profile/prl or complete the hands-free activation. So I can't even go back to stock, because when I do the factory image, the hands-free fails.
Eww sorry man. Probably APN.

What the.... So apparently sometime last night, my PRL updated on its own, like it's supposed to(old one was from old efs restore). But I still can't manually force the two to updates. So hands-free still fails upon a reset. This practically confirms that my phone is fine, because clearly it can receive the updates, just not pull them down. I'll call them today and #blamesprint.
APNs should be restored upon efs flash right? If not, how do I check them? The APN menu in settings doesn't appear when on the Sprint network.

You'll have to download an APN app off of the Play Store. When I had Sprint there was weird issues with the bearer field. Also they have like 4 different APNs stock and there was one like i.ispnt or something that seemed to work but you had to select between bearer EHRPD (LTE network routed EVDO) or LTE.
All APN apps are giving me an error saying SIM card unknown, even when installed to system. One even says Virgin Mobile. Could this be an issue with my SIM card?
Could be a problem with your SIM card. I'd just take it into a Sprint store quickly and get it resolved.
I fiddled with APNs, there were 12 there(!), so I reentered the correct 5 and could reliably get data. I factory reset and now my phone is unprogrammed(no MIN and wrong phone number), I'm just going to go yell at Sprint now. :fingers-crossed:
Sprint was useless, the tech kept blaming the phone, saying things like "Nexus phones don't have dialer codes" and "your IMEI is bad(WTF?)", then she noticed the padlock on the boot screen where she refused to go further, saying that I tampered with my device. After I informed her that it was MY device(purchased unlocked from Google) and that Sprint had no legal claim to that device, she redirected me to Advanced Phone Support. She also refused to give me a new UICC card, saying that "it couldn't be the problem." I'm done with Sprint for the week, so I'm just going to go custom again and just set the APNs properly each time. Even on stock/L, I can just flash the Sprint APN zip to automatically fix them, correct? If so, where could I find the latest APNs? The latest zip I have is from March or so I believe. Thanks!
Also out of curiousity, how hard do you think it would be to force my way out of a contract ETF-free? I figure if they can't prove it's my device that's faulty, and they aren't giving me a product that I'm paying for.......

thats easy force it to data roaming and start streaming the heck out of anything and everything overnight. Sprint will terminate your contract if your roaming data is consistently to high.

Telephony.db being altered on boot? No cellular connection after reboot.

I am perplexed by an issue with my LG Flex 2 (H950) that has persisted since it was updated from Lollipop 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 (11x) via official OTA by AT&T. This occurs with or without root.
When I restart or reboot the phone, I totally lose my cell connection--no voice, no data--and "Mobile Networks" is grayed-out. If I perform a factory reset or delete telephony.db and its journal, the cell connection comes back and I can enter the "Mobile Networks" menu, though the APN list is empty. Resetting APNs to default does nothing, but I can manually add an APN and data works fine, including LTE. On the next reboot, the cycle repeats and there is no connection.
I have gone through 8 SIMS; four AT&T and four T-Mobile, and nothing changes between them. An AT&T rep verified the issue but referred me to LG. LG has had the phone twice under warrant and found no hardware problem. LG also updated the phone to firmware 11z.
The phone reads the SIM without any issue, though programs that read SIM will say no SIM is installed immediately after a reboot. I have also found that upon boot the phone seems to ignore apns-conf.xml, because renaming that file has no effect.
My only guess at this point is that the boot process is changing telephony.db (except immediately after a factory reset) in some way and looking to something other than apns-conf.xml for its APN data. I am currently rooted, because that is the only way I can use ES File Explorer to delete telephony. db.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Greetings,
Thank you for using XDA Assist. I'm going to move your question to the proper device Q&A forum.
Good luck!

No connection after root

So I bought the Galaxy S7 today from Boost Mobile and it was activated and working. I went to root it and now I cant get any sort of connection back. I've been on the phone with Boost Mobile trying everything and I still cant get it to work. At one point it was in a loop where everytime you reset the phone, it would try to activate and then randomly reboot. I keep trying to activate the phone through settings and thats not working either. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?
Is your IMEI still ok?
