They are narrated books. You know, for ppl that don't have time to read.

Too bad the books are expensive. The only feasible option is to pay 15 a month to get a book a month. They are narrated well though.

Just the native one, as provided by Mr. Fluffy
It is basic, I suppose, but at the end o th day I just need something that pulls stuff off the 'net - I mostly download podcasts to listen to later, that kinda thing.
Exactly the same as me, also monitoring some torrent trackers!
I just remembered about viigo. I had a BlackBerry Pearl and used to use that for downloading podcasts and different feeds from the net. Check it out, it's a good app, easy to use, pretty user friendly - and free
Cheers
i use upvise www.upvise.com
it is very fingerfriendly, you can manage it on pc or pocket pc and has a low need of transfer.
I use opera mini 5 and it has a pretty handy built in RSS reader.

Grooveshark alternative?

Hi, wondering if someone has found something besides the official grooveshark app? I had nanogroove on my touch pro2 and loved it. I do not mind paying for the app, but I only want to pay ONCE not monthly. I do not see a need to pay for something monthly that I will probably not use ever month, just when the occasion arises. Does not have to be grooveshark specifically either, just an app that i can type in an artists name of song title and it search and stream it. Thanks in advance.
I came from the TP2 and loved nanogroove... Took me a while to find a replacement. Search the market for "Song Storm Lite" .... You won't feel like you are missing nanogroove anymore. Plus it puts the file automatically in your library instead of having to do the groovy.mp3 rename trick

No go for song storm? No results for me in the market. I use Music Junk, but you will have to Google to get that, the apk isn't in the market.

Thank you, very good app.
Wow, Tunee is awsome! Its the most straight forward and simple music search engine I have ever used.
All the apps posted above are great but is there an app that you can queue songs?
Song Storm Lite
Ya just so you guys know the app isn't available on the Market anymore. Grooveshark asked me to remove it last friday so as of this Monday it is no longer available (it was only a matter of time). I'll maybe host the .apk file on the ****ty website i have up for the app or just release the source code this weekend. Let me know what you guys think. I want to keep it working in the future b/c most of the other apps have a smaller libraries and I can't find the music that I want.

What are your show off apps??

Your Apps that you would show people that are interested in your phone..
I just got mine and have a good amount so far and always looking for more..
Here are mine so far.......
Floating images..
I love the way it lays the pictures as if they were scattered on a coffee table, and as it "floats" by you can click a picture to see it bigger..
Totally cool
Instant Heartrate
Just like it says, it accurately (The few times I checked) checks your heart rate by "lightly" putting your finger on the camera lens.. It was accurate each and every time I compared it to my real HB monitor.
Barcode Scanner/google shopper
Both do about the same thing, only google shopper will scan image as well as bar code, kinda cool.
Those are some of the many I have tried, but I am sure there are more.
So what are your go to apps to show off with?
The "Pure" widgets. Especially to iPhone owners.

I just show off my phone haha. I don't have many apps, I'm not an app person, I have more keyboards download installed than market apps.
I like to show off with Slingplayer. Watching live Tv and controlling my DVR who can resist. Then Droidlive for my Howard Stern Bootleg streams hehe. And Speedtest to show how fast 4g is to 3g
30 bucks for the slingplayer app huh? Still cool though!
I usually end up pulling out my ipod touch to show wicked apps/games.
I get "cant you do that stuff with your EVO?"
My answer is, was and continues to be... "uhm... no"

Can your iPhone/iPod do this?....open up MusicJunk3 and start downloading mp3's for free, then open up gmob and download some pirated apps, browse a few YouTube pages all at the same time....they're like, oh wow FLASH! Also go into recovery and flash a font on a whim, then a theme, flash it all back to normal again...can your iPhone do that? Um well no...ok then. Hey what movie should I download for you, I have a torrent client and I dont need to worry about data caps...Iron Man 2? Ok good call! Well watch it on my EVO since it has a bigger brighter screen. Video games? I have a few, but lets grab a 12 pack and go to my place and play some Halo Reach on my 53'' screen.
I was showing off my EVO to my dad, Google nav in satellite view and the sky maps and he was pretty impressed, but he's not as much of a phone geek as I am. My mama is too attached to Blackberry to care lol

vlingo. it takes speach recognition to an entirely new level
put it in car mode and it waits for you to say the catch phrase its waiting for then
it pops on and awaits your command, call, text, nav, search
blows me away at how accurate it is
this is what we all thought speach rec software was going to be, cant wait till its finished
for me currently, when in bluetooth mode, if i turn bluetooth device off before
killing bt on my evo it will force a restart

ePub Speech to Text

I'm looking for an app that can read my epub books aloud.
I've tried this one ( https://market.android.com/details?id=v00032.com.wordplayer&feature=search_result ) but the voice is just plain text to speech; the voice is downright awful. Not only that, but there's no pause, and it only starts at the beginning of a chapter.
I know Moon+ also does it, but it's $5. Has anyone used the text to speech on it and can comment on how well it works? I'd love to hear how it sounds, but I haven't found any videos on YouTube etc of this feature being used. If the voice is just as bad as WordPlayer, I'd rather not waste the $5. And 15 minutes seems too hasty to test this out.
Is there any other way to have epub books read aloud via some Android app?
if yuor talking about that female sounding death voice then it's android itself that does it. I dunno if theres a way to change it.

Aye, just found the "SVOX" ones. But very very expensive....
Yes, SVOX Classic. Each language pack costs $3
But still you will not get a feel of audio books. The book reading app needs to incorporate some intelligence.

iAnnotate lite now available on Samsung market

Just went to the Samsung market and saw the app. They have released only the light version which they are saying will be updated from time to time.
For those who don't know what the app does, it's a well known app that was released for the Ipad / phone and is used to annotate pdf's. Current version seems limited but works well with the S pen.
Once it has all the features, this will probably be the best pdf annotation app available unless Soonr Scribble can beat them to it.
Enjoy!

Just noticed this today.
It's a good idea to peek at the samsung store every now and then since you can sort by newest apps.
It's quite interesting there's no full version in the market.
I guess it's sort of a beta test?
- Frank
I agree, I think that they are testing the water with Note owners to see the level of interest and then will decide how much to charge for the full featured full version. This app was originally advertised as available for the Note and soon changed to 'Coming Soon' soon after the Notes release.
Thanks for the heads up! Checking this out now.
Not bad. I can open a PDF from email, sign it, and attach it / send as email.
No palm recognition though. That may be Soonr's best quality....

Wow, didn't even know that the Soonr app had palm rejection, thanks for that, also noticed that Soonr is pressure sensitive.
EzPDF has nice annotation built in.

Woohooo ! Finally! Been waiting on this for a long time now!
I'm trying to find the iannotate apk to give as a valentines tomorrow and I can't find for the life of me. Tried to trick the market into thinking I have a Note, but that didn't work and I ended up bricking my phone. Any help as to an alternative source for the app?
EDIT: All were sent with annotations. I was just doing view in google docs, which the annotations will NOT show. Now does anyone know where to change the email sig that attaches from the app "Sent from my Tab" and to deltete docs within the app?
Has anyone been able to send the marked up pdf's with the annotations intact? Everytime I send them the pencil writing doesnt show up in the sent document. Ive been taking a screenshot then cropping them, which is unnessecary. Is there something I am doing wrong?
(I was trying to send back a missed signature form, so if it worked perfectly It would have went better and not pissed off my GF)
