We've been abandoned...Why? - General Topics

I've been watching all the latest phones recently and see with great disappointment that every good new phone that comes on the market is available only at the US.I live in Greece and the only high-end device we got since the Desire is the Galaxy S(priced at about 650 euros). All those years good devices came out mostly here and now this! What is happening? When will we get anything like DroidX or Evo 4G?Right now I feel very disappointed...

Seriously? The HD2 was in Europe first, the Dell Streak is not avail here...you guys get all the stuff first.
Evo is 4g and CDMA...no one else in world has 4g or CDMA I am pretty sure.

Yep, usually the States are last on the release list. But recently there's been a flurry of new device activity

I don't want good devices to come here without coming there,I just think that it'd be better that good phones came to both continents instead of only to one.And I know that the Evo is 4G and CDMA,but there could be a non-4G GSM version for Europe. And what about DroidX?Will we have to stay with the Milestone, the Desire and the HD2?They are really good phones but why not have better when we can?

I am in the UK and we do got a lot of stuff before the USA but i would say there seems to be a difference in prices sometimes, especially Microsoft they seem to hike up the price in the UK Windows vista and windows 7 for example

Lol!
Usually México is the last buddy...
I wish we receive the releases like in the US

I don't know what you are talking about beacuse the desire looks really good...

I beleive Asia gets them a full year before we do. Then what ever doesn't sell in Japan gets sent to the US and Euro. Then they slap an ATT or Tmo sticker on it and call it the latest and greatest! BTW did you konw your phone was RnD'd for a 13 year old japaneese girl. Turns out they are the most influential users for cell phones. By the numbers japaneese school girls use more cell phones then wall street businessman. Thats why cell mnf.'s test their phones with little girls and not grown adults.

Well,as for Desire being a very good phone I don't say otherwise,I might as well buy one. It's just that there aren't many options available for high-end end devices which is a little bit discouraging. Why don't we get devices like the Evo or the DroidX even now?I don't complain because we didn't get the best devices first, but because we didn't get them at all and I haven't heard any clues or rumors that they will come here.

UK Phones are always better than our US phones lol

By the way "gamise ta"(not gamiseta,it's two words) means "**** it" or something like that!Sorry about the vocabulary, but as we cannot get good phones I thought about giving some language lessons!
Anyway, about the whole situation now...Things have been messed up.I wanted to buy a Desire but had no spare money,so I postponed it.Now that I have the money I see all the newer phones and think that, hell, will I get the Desire?I do like it,it's way cooler and better than my Hero, but new phones have 4.3" screens,8 MPx cameras,HD videos etc...Especially when talking about such non-HTC phones,Samsung's Hummingbird and Texas Instruments' OMAP processors are better than Qualcomm's Snapdragon, and mostly in the GPU part(I do love Sense however and don't know if I can have anything else for everyday use...).So what do I do?Buy the Desire and live on wanting something better or wait with the hope that something better will be available in Europe shortly?I am really confused...
And by the way, don't you think that 640 euros for the Galaxy S is a little bit too much?

Really it just depends on your carrier and thier contracts with HTC, samsung, etc... If they are willing to pay for an exclusive deal then they can have their own phone for a set time limit. If not then they are sold to all the carriers with different brands. Tmo went for the HD2 as their flagship phone, ATT went iphoney, Sprint went Evo4, Verizon is going Droid X, METROPCS went RAZR. lol, funny thing is aside from the iphone they are all the same phone with minor modifications.

They are in no way the same phone except for the Evo and the HD2.The Droid X uses Texas Instruments' OMAP processor which is better than the Snapdragon.Anyway,I am starting to think about buying the Galaxy S.It's probably the best one around here.I will miss Sense, but I give far too much emphasis on my hardware and Samsung's Hummingbird is just AWESOME!I love Sense however...Don't ask why,I just love it!Do you think there will be a port available for the Galaxy S?

All the good phones are CDMA recently. What's up with that?

i would love to have the desire or galaxy s right now!

Well, right now I am between the Galaxy S and the Desire.Would buy a GSM variant of the Droid X if it came out but I don't think anything like this will happen anytime soon...I just hate it how phone companies don't give us any of the new phones!
By the way,for the Droid X...Wouldn't it be much better with some custom interface like Sense? In a phone this powerful the UI cannot reduce performane enough for us to notice. And I just HATE vanilla...!

Amazon Germany is selling the Galaxy S for 455€, incl. VAT. Even with s&h, it should not cost more than 470€ anywhere in the Euro-Area.

Well this is upseting...The lowest price I found was somewhere a little below 600€ and it was from a store I had never heard of,which therefore I don't know whether I can trust or not.Except for the case that it is not yet officially released in Greece and what I found was just some pieces brought from other countries. And now that I think of it it's not that insane as no major store has it yet.Maybe the price will drop with the official release!

I agree! I'm dying to get something like Evo or Droid X but GSM compatible! There's nothing even near them! 4.3 Inch display, 8 MPixel video & HDMI out!!! What do we have? Desire? It even can't handle a simple D1 video recording! Can't run Asphalt smoothly!!! The best we can get is Galaxy S which is so iPhony! No LED flash? Just to release it with flash for Sprint!!! I'm sick of it!!!
There's nothing on upcoming list of GSM phones, just check GSMArena! It's way too obsolete these days...

[Q] HTC HD2 or Nexus One? or Tilt 2?

i wanna ask everyone a question here, my birthday is coming up and i decided to get a new phone, i always wanted the HD2 but since TMobile has announced that its only going to be exclusive to them i wont be able to get 3G with AT&T, do you think its still worth getting it even though ill be on EDGE?
also one more question, the Nexus One has been released and it has similar specs to HD2, what you think is better as far as functionallity and battery would go for?
P.S. thought i wanna throw in this but i was thinking bout the Tilt 2 from AT&T i know its got a bigger screen than FUZE and i still got 3G...decisions decisions
looking foward to everyones answers, thanks!
I think you should wait it out, the year just started so newer and better phone are sure to be released. I heard the Nexus had some problems, pretty minor and can be fixed via update but you'll only beable to use edge on Att.
Definitely wait it out...it was announced at CES that AT&T would be receiving 5 Android devices (three of them HTC), for all you know one of them could be the Nexux One or Nexus One Pro! It would suck to drop $530 on a phone just to use EDGE.
That will depend a lot if you prefer Android or WM
Personally I would go for Leo or Rhodium as I think Android is to young and immature OS...I am sure in the near future it will be a good option but not now..at least for me
Good luck on your decision!

damn that is true.....i just dont uderstand what AT&T was thinking, but then yet again im not ready to move into Andriod JUST YET...ATT they have the Expo but no custom rom yet
But you gotta admit the "Leo" looks better than the Nexus IMO, I never used a WinMo phone but ive always used windows(2000,XP,7).
I was wondering how fast the phone is and if it had a Dragon under the hood.
ya i wanna get the feel of 1ghz...well hopefully ATT will annouce a WM phone with another 1ghz chip very soon hopefully within the next month or so, but for now i should start collecting money and save up
btw is there an HD2 from a mobile company that runs on the same bands as ATT?? i heard Telstra from AUS runs it but i wanna confirm if it does

Would be there no Galaxy S sequential for AT&T?

I mean, we would get Infuse 4G in this spring. However that is not Galaxy S 2, just overclocked Captivate with better screen. Rumors confirmed that new Galaxy S series will come with Orion processor that is duelcore hummingbird. I know android OS and apps are not optimized to duel core so it could be useless battery hog until it get honeycomb.
But most concerning point is Infuse 4G will come with froyo and take time forever to get gingerbread, it is really dealbeaker. Also Infuse 4G will have no international brother like i9000 which is our ROM source.
Should I end up contract to AT&T and move on other carrier?
Given Galaxy S2 is still under tight wrap waiting to be announced at MWC, it is too early to talk about whether or not AT&T will get it.
Officially, Galaxy S2 does not even exit. So how do you know AT&T won't get it.
So far, the only Android OS I saw that mentioned dual-core support is HoneyComb (3.0) which is only for tablet. Gingerbread does not support dual core. So, having a dual core phone right now is quite useless, the other half will just stay unused.
Go to t-mobile and quit samsuck completely. AT&T is terrible with Android support, and Samsuck.....well......they suck. That is unless you want your phone to be a statistic in the Samsuck fragmentation universe.

T-mobile sucks in this area...so that really isn't a good alternative IMHO...and I have absolutely no idea what you are saying about the fragmentation..There really isn't any carrier that doesn't suck...they all do...some just more than others in some areas...

QF the muther******* T!
there are rumors of the nexus s coming for at&t.
engadget dot com/2011/01/27/nexus-s-coming-in-a-new-atandt-flavor/
and at&t itself has said that this year they'll be bringing a lot of top end android phones (not gimping them to make iphone look superior). a good side-effect of them losing iphone exclusivity.
i'd wait for feb14-17 for the mobile world conference to get a better idea of which phones are coming.
Personally, the Captivate is the last Samsung product I'll buy, and probably the last product I'll buy from A**. The way I was ripped off on this phone by the customer support will survive in my memory for AT LEAST the duration of this contract. I don't care WHAT Samsung comes up with.

I'm with you on that. Samsuck is dead to me. As soon as the Atrix or Optimus 2X hits AT&T I'm ditching my Captivate immediately.
I would like to leave AT&T too, but where I live, they have the best 3G speeds. With HSDPA/HSUPA enabled I get 2Mb down/1.5 Mb up. Verizon here cant touch that. Everybody at work has VZW and they get about 700kb up and down.

Unless it's the Nexus S, don't buy a Samsung anything. You'll regret it.
A nrw OS does not fix a broken phone. Even with the best OS, the bad phones turn themselves off and the GPS stays flakey. Thats not to mention that you're risking your warantee and the folks that bricked their phones upgrading. I have changed ROMS but for a top of the line smart phone, you shouldn't have to.

Very Good Phone
im far away from ATT so i dont know how its support works. For me the Captivate is the best phone ive ever had. I dont have any complains about it. And is even better with the great roms available here on XDA. iphone 4 lovers hate me when i show them all the things i can do... Sure there probably are better phones... but i dont see a reason to change mine for a while.
This will be my last Samsung as well. Thankfully Andromeda 1.0 makes it a usable phone to get me through this contract.
Yeah, the GPS leaves a lot to be desired. I've managed to finally get a ROM/Kernel/Modem combination that is stable, and can keep a GPS lock.
The only other Samsung phone I had prior to this was the WinMo Blackjack. Back then I didn't know enough about smartphones to be aware that it was horrible.
But, hey, I got my Captivate for free. Christmas present from my girlfriend, and she only paid $70 for the phone, screen protector, and 16 gig microSD card. So, I can't complain too much.
I am grateful to the Captivate, though. Without it, I wouldn't have learned about Android, and what true customization is all about.

Honestly not hating on you dude, but you should buy an IPhone. If you want something that works out of the box and you don't have to mess with that's the way to go. EVERY Android handset out there requires tweaking to some degree or another. And every other manufacturer has their own issues.
Samsung has a bit of a track record of not updating and now the GPS issues. But Motorola gets you a locked boot loader. LG currently doesn't have a real competitor in the US yet. HTC just took the EVO and rebadged it for Verizon and AT&T, not to mention the Desire HD for the rest of the world.
I'm not overly thrilled with the Captivate. It's a great phone, but the lack of support from Samsung (cmon, at&t may have it's faults but they have little to do with the lack of an update or support, they just sell phones, my opinion of course.) The biggest issue for me is GPS. I do have a standalone unit for trips and such but I really like having a phone that can get me from A to B easily. I don't carry my GPS everywhere, I do carry my phone.
Would I buy another Samsung Device?? Maybe. I'd certainly wait a few weeks after it was released to see what the main issues are. As far as software, I don't care. I flash ROM's more than I change my...... Well you get my point.
if att gets the galaxy 2? it will hit in the fall of course, they will milk the atrix ,infuse and the htc dealio for all they are worth. sad reaalllymost likely increase data charges for no reason than renaming their 3g network....sounds like the goverment at work here, we need bigger goverment to counteract this maddddnesss

Gotta agree with you there. When I switched from my iPhone to the Cappy, I'll admit I went through some withdrawal basically because a comparable cydia/rock alternative wasn't readily available (I really missed the streaming video and content apps...the ones that worked anyway :/ ). The work the devs are doing within the XDA community breathed new life and excitement into my cappy. I think in time, the overall developement scene for Android will rival and (hopefully) surpass what the iPhone community has accomplished.

Agreed. Before I got my Captivate, I was expecting the same Cydia/Installer combo to show up a couple minutes after I got it.
Honestly, Market serves as an undermined Cydia, but iPhone does have the better dev base by a landslide and that's why it's more popular, at least for devs and the like.
If Captivate had the dev base iPhone does, I wouldn't need anything else. Then again, I don't think anyone else would, either.

My .02 on Atrix v. Inspire

I, like many, was thoroughly intrigued when the Atrix was announced and all it's awesome features. However, the more I think about it, the more I will be going with the Inspire. Here is my list why, and feel free to add to it:
- Better quality in build
- Better software support
- I refuse to pay $500 for a keyboard and LCD screen
- CyanogenMod
- Unlocked Kernel
- Overclocking potential
- I do not NEED dual 1GHz w/ 1GB RAM
- Little bigger screen
- Desire HD already has a headstart in Rooting/Modding
I work for AT&T (Feel free to ask me anything pertaining to plans, phones, etc.) and will more than likely buy this phone without a contract since we get 40% of MSRP on devices. I'll just wait when/if HTC releases a dual core phone on AT&T to upgrade.
Also, I am ending my contract with T-Mobile (Although I love them) because of the Cliq XT fiasco. That is also my #1 reason to not go with Moto. Moto don't care about their upgrades, and they make it hard for the awesome devs here at XDA to continue the life of said devices.
I'd like to know if android os can take advantage of 2 cores. Same question for apps. I'd also like to see some total size comparisons between the atrix and inspire
I agree completely! I get an upgrade once a year, why not get a good device then next year see if all of these dual core devices take off. I have had two locked down android devices, and they are infuriating. I use an xperiax10(btw I am running 2.2.1), and while I love the specs of the phone it just doesn't meet expectations. I am going with the inspire, and I will have fun with it!

My thoughts exactly. I was super stoked about the Atrix but the more things have been revealed about it I think I'll be a lot happier with the Inspire. I don't need a laptop dock or a dock for my TV/Monitor. I do want something that I'll be able to mess with, and HTC has shown a history of excellence in this regard. Also, you can't really beat the price. The ratio of dollar to build quality is pretty awesome when it comes to the Inspire, and I don't even really care if it has HSPA+ or not. I'm in an area where I regularly pull 3.5 down and 1.6 up on regular HSPA, so as long as it doesn't get any slower I'll be fine.
Really excited to get my Inspire on launch day.

Much agreed. Going with the Inspire for same reasons. 1 question I do have is that I have yet to see anything regarding different data pricing for HSPA+. Only thing recent I've seen is the increase by 2gb's for tethering. My unlimited data is grandfathered, so im curious as to what i will be told when upgrading, however I as well will buy the Inspire outright as my upgrade isn't till Black Friday of this year =]
Oh and will these HSPA+ phones be compatible on the further developed LTE network? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Anyone notice how the 4 buttons on the bottom of the phone are in different order depending on the manufacture! I personally like the order the HTC uses better than Motorola.
So here is what I have to add to the list:
* HTC Sense UI with website services
* Android OS button order
* Dual LED flash
* Cheaper to buy outright and save upgrade credit for when HTC dual core, LTE, Front Camera device shows up on AT&T which I think will be by the end off the year or early 2012.
@danielsaenz so since u work for att, can u also get me the 40% off on a outright inspire? Lol, kidding aside, I'd pick HTC over Motorola all day, hardware isnt everything if your software sux, and that blur crap on motorola is garbage.
@danielsaenz it is true that for this summer at&t is planning to offer the unlimited data plan back?
I have it but I am looking to put it to my wife.

I work at a COR location (Corporate Retail Store) and unfortunately we are very limited in the info that is provided for us. We have a system called MyCSP (My Customer Support Portal) that is where we get most of our information at. Thankfully, I spoke to my area manager about this and although there is still no official word yet, he's pretty sure that you will still be grandfathered into your unlimited data. However, he does believe that the $20 tethering add-on will apply. Will keep you guys posted ASAP.

I have no idea where you got this from, but it is extremely unlikely. Even the admired Verizon is planning to go to tiered data plans. Sprint is adding $10, and T-Mobile will more than likely soon start tiered plans too.

Appreciate the info it really helps. I did read the engadget article on people threatening to get the VZW iphone, so they were offered unlimited data back, but i dont know how much truth goes into that. Personally, I think it is dumb to buy the iphone 4 this late, but that justs my 2 cents. Plus, my tethering doesn't get interrupted when i get a phone call =] Love my AT&T service.
Through thick and thin I feel HTC really strives in all departments. I love having a tight grip on a phone, the sturdy feeling of an HTC; I don't know who else has unibody phones but the physical feel is always the selling point for me. So what exactly can you do with a dual core phone? Maybe load an app a bit faster in the future, true gaming after some software developments but that will be a while right? I'll have to ask my friend what he thinks of moto but I think i'm set on the inspire.
HTC is the best in total quality Hardware plus Software, the are the closest to the apple scenario out of any make. There quality control and amazing sense UI improve android dont just bog it down like other UI's add that to the amazing materials used for the hardware and there is no beating it!
I pre order the htc inspire. I have being using htc for a long time now and I had to go to Galaxy S beca se. Attt doesn't have any good android for a while and now I can't wait to get one again. Simply love the quality of their phones and the Sence is awsome.
HTC is a quality Product. not saying moto isnt but i havent had any good luck with moto either.. last one died in my arms.. no reason.. *shrugs*
I appreciate the 2 cents. I feel the exact same way, I really don't think that android will utilize the dual core for at least a year maybe more. I read somewhere that Microsoft took something like 3 years on XP to fully utilize what dual core processors had to offer. I personally cannot wait for the 13th. I will be buying the inspire on launch day and selling my captivate shorty after. I think the biggest selling point is the development. I have had to rely on the different spliced together stock roms from the galaxy s and still have never experienced a ROM build from source. CAN'T WAIT!!!

[Q] Buying Advice - Android Phones (North America)

Hi All,
I'm just looking to pick up a new Android phone. What are the best models out there in US / Canada?
I'll be comfortable doing basic to moderate "improvements" *cough* hacks *cough* on any device and am basically just looking for the best phone that will let me do the following:
Jail-break
tether
develop my own apps and test on
Skype
I'll be looking to buy from Canada OR US in the next few weeks. Not worried about cost.
Thanks and talk soon!
try Motorola Atrix4g or HTC Inspire4g/Evo4g. all are androids and the jailbreak in this type of phone is called ROOT.
Ah... "root"! Still getting used to the lingo. Thanks for the suggestions.
What are your thoughts on the forthcoming HTC EVO 3D? It's gimicky, but also looks like a really solid device to me...
Cellphone technology is really hard to keep up with; waiting usually isn't a very good idea, because you'll end up continuously waiting to make up your mind (what with how fast new and improved phones release).
BUT this is a situation where you should wait just a little. The dual core phones are starting to make their place in the market. The Samsung Galaxy S2 looks like it's going to be stellar, and the EVO 3D looks pretty solid too (though I will admit I'm more inclined towards the EVO 3D, considering I love my EVO so much).
The HTC Sensation looks to be quite promising as well.
And I read this week about quad core but doubt that will be available at any reasonable price within the next 12 months. (I'd guess 2-3 years but just my opinion.)
Agree in general with the post about waiting being an endless game but if you can get a used phone and operate it with your carrier, that may give you more time until some new models hit later this year.
D'accord, when the first att adroid came i wanted it so bad(moto Backflip) but i didnt buy it then the samsung galaxy was my next option and the same i couldnt get it, until finally came the moto atrix which i my opinion is better than the other 2 and almost like an iphone...

[Q] Why no advertising about One X? did they know something was wrong?

If this is HTC's flagship device why arent there many ads? nothing on AT&T's site, Nearly noting on TV (only one i've seen is the sky diver) I just find this strange... Every other manufacturer, (in the past,HTC devices included) has flooded the TV with ads about their newest flagship devices... Makes me wonder if they know that it might not be so flagship maybe some of these bugs have been known for a while and/or arent easily addressed... Maybe they dont want everyone buying a h0x and re labeling them h4x lol... just thinking out loud.... I certainly hope i'm 100% wrong... but still... Why no advertising??? this is by far one of the prettiest phones ever made...seems like they'd flaunt that...doesnt it?
I don't even have tv and I've seen at least 3 different commercials while just at friends houses. Also I just saw a Best Buy catalog that had the ATT and Sprint version right on the front.

Most of the advertising for new devices is actually done by the carrier themselves. If you pay attention, you will see that T-mobile is pushing the One S quite a bit but you dont really see ATT pushing the X. Thats primarily due to the conflict it would cause with the Lumia. Nokia put something like 25 million dollars to ATT to push this phone. That was to help with advertising and also to ensure that around 80% of the corporate retail employees carry the phone for 90 days. They arent going to start pushing another device like crazy. On another note, ATT has shown they have a hard time adopting android devices so that probably impacts it as well.

What location? its not even pictured on ATT wireless home page. Sprint version is a different phone. Cant really compare it. It has a removable and bigger battery and an SD card. A few people have speculated the multi tasking issues could be as a result of super poor battery performance..Changing the multi tasking to save battery. 3 differnt commercials eh? and no tv? What in the hell have i been watching (or smoking maybe )the past few weeks i wonder.. Anyone else notice a lack of ads or is it just me?
i do realize the carriers are doing the majority of the ads.. but still i cant recall any of the recent flagship phones (evo, razor, gsII, etc) having such poor ad support. i didnt realize microsft paid them so dearly.. guess that could be the reason.

Im sure microsoft is also filling the ATT coffers, but from what i understand Nokia is who is pushing the lumia like crazy. But if you pay close attention, ATT doesnt really push any of their android line. In recent memory, the only phone i can recall seeing them advertise was the Note, and honestly that may have been a Sammy commercial. Typically when i see an advert from ATT its the iphone.
cost money to do ads

1) AT&T received huge advertising support from MS and Nokia to promote the 900. I was surprised they launched the One X as close behind it as they did. The launch was actually pushed up a month, I'm guessing to beat the SGS3 announcement.
2) There's a shortage of 28nm wafers which is hampering the ramp up of S4 production. The One XL launch was just delayed several months in Australia because of it. If the One X is selling well based on the quantities available there'd be no need for advertising.
3) The "bugs" are minor and outside the wireless issue(s) fewer than most phone launches. Things like multitasking and locked bootloaders are 100% irrelevant to 95% of purchasers of the phone. XDA does not represent the needs or standards of the majority of the phone buying public.

Evo had even less promotion, trust me.
RAZR is pushed big time by Verizon, as they frantically want everyone to switch to LTE to ease off on the now loaded (iphone) 3g network.
GSII, Samsung IS the largest smartphone of the world, so that's that.
I also want to assure you what you are thinking might be (HTC not wanting to promote it becasue of issues) is absolutely not true. This IS HTC's flagship device. They want everyone and their mother to buy it.
ATT will not promote it as they have bigger fish to catch on the iphone/Lumia front. This is HTC's M.O., they don't do too much ads.
You should see in Canada. Rogers is pushing the HTC One X like crazy. I don't have cable but I do have Roku and the online streams are pretty busy with ads for it. Bell is doing the same thing with the One S.
They are out of stock everywhere (including online). Wouldn't be good to advertise unless you have the phone.
There are posters of the One X everywhere in Sydney and I've seen the skydiving ads a couple of times on TV too. Fking love this phone so much. Too bad I dont have money -.-
Hell the HTC Vivid had little to none when it came to advertising and IMO it was an awesome phone.. HTC One X was the logical step in the right direction for me

The guy jumps out the the plane with the HTC ONE X, seen it maybe a dozen times lots of ads.....
On American Idol here they have been pushing the one X. Now on the beats speaker ad they replaced the Vivid with the One X. They have also aired the Sky Diving ad a few times too.
I'd agree with the Lumia theory. When I worked into the corporate att store to buy my one x I was surrounded by sales associates all wearing Lumia shirts. Then when I got rung up there was a huge Lumia sign on the wall behind the register

I'm seeing ads in Houston Texas. And when watching a video on YouTube that has an ad I see it there a lot.

In the past, the other carriers pushed HTC phones hard, since they didn't have the iPhone. And the strategy worked, as Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mob all built up a big and loyal Android customer base.
AT&T is advertising the One X more than any other past HTC phone that I can recall. I really can't remember any TV ads for previous AT&T HTC phones (but maybe my memory falters here), and only a few for any Android device on the carrier (I can remember ads for the crappy Backflip, and not really anything else). AT&T is still heavily into pushing the iPhone, even now that its not exclusive. When I click online to upgrade my device, I get a screen smeared with what is basically an iPhone ad, and have to click through in order to select any "other" device.
And yes, the Lumia is getting pushed pretty hard. On a side note, I don't see AT&T spending so much their own money advertising an OS that sells so poorly, with Windows phone being well into single digits for % market share in smartphones. So just guessing that all the ad dollars are all coming from MS.

Really? Maybe its just a regional thing (or cable provider), but in the past, Sprint has consistently had tons of advertising for the EVO line in my area (EVO 4G and 3D).

The One-x on sprint (evo 4g lte) does not have a removable battery. Not sure where you read that. It does have a sd card slot but that's and I believe a slightly bigger battery but that's about it.
