what does it mean when i read "install theme on a CLEAN mobile shell"
can anyone let me know what that means excatley?
thank you!
It means install SPB then install your theme. A clean install would mean that you have SPB loaded with no other themes or tweaks added to it.

oh ok...so the best thing to do before switching themes, is uninstall everything then reinstall?
If you haven't installed any tweaks I don't see why you couldn't just load the new theme over the old one. I'm not a SPB user so I couldn't really say. I was just telling you what clean install would be.
In future please post any questions you might have in the thread you are talking about it will get dealt with alot quicker by people who can answer your question properly.
To answer your question it means you should not install the new theme if you already modded or installed another theme on your Spb Mobile Shell. Uninstall any mods or themes first, then reinstall Spb Mobile Shell before installing the theme. If you havent modified your installation in any way then its safe to go ahead and install the theme.
Mark.

I have been playing around with system fonts and I have forgotten to uninstall between trying each font cab...
Now, some of the text does not change back from one particular font!
(see attached image: note service provider, calendar text - also on slider page titles...)
Do I have to hard reset to get this back to normal, or is there something else I can try?
Just to let you know, I am not experiences in registry editing, I have only been installing/uninstalling cabs.
I'm running standard, updated HTC UK ROM.
Thanks for any help!
fonts
just reinstall the font cabs that you forget to uninstall. It will says font already installed, overwrite? Answer yes. If it says font cannot be uninstalled, continue, just answer yes. Reboot, and it will be uninstalled.

I installed it and now I want to remove it but when I do it says GTX Team GTX Sense 1.7.1 was not completely removed. do you want to remove it from the list of installed programs? I press yes and it still stays there any ideas I even deleted all its files from the phone that I could find
you have to hard reset your phone because the gtx sense mod changes some internal manila files. so back up all of your data then go to start > settings > system > clear storage

Hi I have installed in my htc pure spb mobile shell, after that I installed "Espresso Theme" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5455081&postcount=1782). Now I want to change my rom but I want to back up my personal configuration en "Espresso Theme", so my question is...
Did somebody knows what folder did I have to back up to after ROM, reinstalled spb, espresso theme, restore?
Thanks for your help.
Although I doubt it will work, just try a backup software like sprite backup. Or you can try cooking your own rom with all of that stuff all ready to go
This Rom is made for the Appalachian Wireless hero users out there. This is a complete rebuild of my original rom, it is faster, better optimized and themeable with some new features added.

Removed apps are placed on your sdcard in the AW10/removed directory.
To Reinstall
connect your phone to your computer
choose charge only when prompted on your phone
open a command prompt, cd into the android-sdk/tools directory and run
Code:
adb remount
adb push /sdcard/AW10/removed/nameofapp.apk /system/app
INSTALL:
DOWNLOAD
Alternate DOWNLOAD mirror
place .zip file on sd card
reboot into recovery mode
nandroid backup
wipe
wipe dalvik cache
install AW10.zip file
live wallpapers are optional, to install them flash lwp.zip via recovery separately from the rom.
known issues:
issue: if you flash the lwp.zip and the rom together at the same time, it can cause boot loops.
fix: install the rom let it boot once, reboot then install the lwp.zip.
issue: updating of google maps in market fails
fix: uninstall old version first by going into Settings/Applications/Manage applications uninstall maps then re-download from market.
NOTE: Live wallpapers only work when using an alternate launcher like ADW or Launcher Pro from the market.
got any screenshots?

I updated some things and added some screen shots.
Wow, and I thought I was the only person with Appalachian Wireless to Root, you know I had a terrible time rooting. Just about every guide I could find was for Sprint only. I wish I had found you about 2 months ago. I had to upgrade to the Stock 2.1, before I was able to root. Did you have as hard of a time getting your Hero rooted as I did on Appalachian Wireless? Just curious.

no i waited until 2.1 was released and rooted, i didn't want to take the chance of messing up my carrier settings with the sprint RUU, and not being able to restore them, i was tempted though very tempted.

please be patient with me I'm working on this, should be fixed in a little while.
OK because all my files on mediafire got wiped
and i was going to release this newer version in a couple days anyway, i decided to go ahead and post it tonight.
the only thing missing that i wanted to include in this version is some custom mods i made for it.
i decided to just add them to the original post as metamorph addons instead of including them with the rom, that way you can pick and choose which ones you want instead of me I'll try to have them up soon.
Very nice codejunkie. You've got a little more accomplished with this rom than what I got done with it. My rom was pretty much bare stock. Nothing removed. I was able to get it de-odexed, but when I started looking into changing the rosie, that was when things started becoming unstable.

Awesome man kudos to you...Thank you so much been hitting all the others since someone talked me through a root back in early summer and forgot how nice sense was. How do we add themes for it?
Hey all, Im running Warm TwoPointTwo RLS5 on my Evo. Ive installed a few addons via Rom manager, but now I want to remove them. How do I remove optional addons and even kernals?
I had the same problem, and I could solve it via new rom installation
I'd like to uninstall something from my xperia too, but sounds like another fresh install will be needed :'(
Hey,
Which add-ons are you talking ? Apps ? Tweak packages ?
Tweaks. It was a camera replacement package, sorry for kinda hijacking the forum with my Xperia

Remove addons
In general the best way to remove addons that were added during root is the removal of all the parts and pieces through a file manager:
Total Commander
(Or)
Android Commander
*Please be careful: It is super easy to delete important system files, so just force quit everything, and live with the slower speed. Do not make the delete mistake, and possibly ruin your phone for good. You have been warned!

Titanium backup is capable not only to make backups, but also to remove any application, including the system applications and add-ons.
Root access required.
