Request Help,How can I modify the IMEI of S100?
S200 can modify the IMEI by "Wizard Service Tool",
but it is failure in S100
Wizard Service Tool Prompt: Try reading again; if it fails again then check cable
connection and be sure that ActiveSync's icon is green.

If you have any SIMlock, use this.
And as far as i know, it's impossible to change the IMEI - There are some software programms that make it look like the IMEI is changed, but it only shows something on different in Settings. In order to actually change it you need to swap out the GSM Chip (not easy) and it's illegal (at least in most countrys)....

Atom extROM unblocking and modifying.

If you want to set your Atom to autoconfig to your network, which is not listed in Atom's networks, you need to modify extROM entries, adding settings of your operator.
In order to unblock (actually just "see") extROM, use any advanced file manager, like GSFinder+ (free and easy to find). In a command line write "_qhiddenpartition" and tap Enter. You will get access to a hidden ExtROM. Please note that all modifying should be done under your own risk - hard reset is highly possible. Also, please do not modify or even rename text file with ExtROM version information in a root directory. All network settings for autoconfig are in Network folder in extROM. Using Cab manager you can modify those to reflect your operator settings.
In case you just want to get rid of autoconfig message after each soft reset, go to registry HK_CURRENT_USER/AutoConfig/Network, find XPath parameter and change it to your network operator number. Your operator number (5 digits usually) is visible when you launch autoconfig.
All above information is based on Geo77 findings, with full respect to his great work.
I'd love to get rid of that autoconfigmesage, but that key isn't in my registry. Should I add it? And what kind of a key should I add?
2 Mastiff.
Surely there should be that String key if you have launched autoconfig at least once. The value of that key should be equal to your operator number. Basically, in the same HKCU/Autoconfig/network/ there is DetectNet key which is equal to your operator number. Simply copy that number to XPath key.
I have launched the Autoconfig, but then canceled it. It puts in something that stops me from configuring MMS and GPRS correctly later on for my Norwegian provider.

WM6 - Operator name

Hi everybody, very strange thing happened to me, because of bat drain I decide to switch back to WM5 and then put Core 2.0 back on it, I did this with Molski.biz AKU 3.3 - Crossbow look and I noticed the operator name exists as it should be (never happened before, I always had some digits instead of operator name), and after I've put core 2.0 back, then the digits appeared again instead of operator name.
Hope, I explained it ok
And the question is, can somebody give me any directions how to get the operator name back on my x-plore core 2.0, is there any reg key to change, I found that number (operator number) on two places, one is a string value, and the second is decimal, but if I try to change the string to my operator name, and reboot - nothing happened which is understandable in some point...but...
Any suggestions will be appreciated!
Just to let interested people know:
Customize operator's name
To show specified operator name set
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\ONSDisplayRule=0 (DWORD decimal)
And then at
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RIL\Operator Names
add the code and the name to display. The value is 5 digits "CCCOO", where CCC is 3-digits country code, and OO is 2-digits operator's code. For example:
"25099"="BEE LINE"
For country and network code, go to wikipidea for mobile country code and network code
To show operator name based on the SIM card used (eg for cases where dual SIM adapter are used), set
HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\ONSDisplayRule=1 (DWORD decimal)
For my dual-SIM adaptor, when I switch between SIMs, the phone with default settings showed always one and the same name, until I reboot the device. Then, it was not able to retrieve operator's name from one of the SIM cards I use. Probably it is an adaptor fault. But anyway, after I changed ONSDisplayRule to 0 and set more up-to-date names for operators that I use, I now always see the name of the operator of the chosen SIM.

when i first got my Audiovox SMT5600 however long ago, all it would show until one day was 310-410. i finally realized that this was simply the carrier's ID number, and can be fixed simply by going into the network settings and changing the preferred network to the actual carrier's name and not the number. i hope this helps, i havent had a problem since this happened, which was about 3 or 4 years ago.. i think it may have saved my settings onto my SIM card which is why.. anyway good luck

My gues is U had a bad flash, try reflashing again with diferent WM 5 ROM.Good luck.
thanks alot, man!

Engineering Mode

Just found this in the registry on my V1415: HKLM\Software\HTC\EngineerMode which contains the code string *#*#364#*#*. If you dial this string you get into a simple engineering menu that displays GSM, AMR and GPRS parameters. There is a simple Done softkey option to exit.
dear,
Can u tell me what is the use of entering in to the Engg. Mode.. i mean can we use this information to do something usefull...
Please tell me...

For a normal user, it's useless, for a developer is a good thing to know wich cell you're connected to, if there's a data transfer between the bts and the cellphone at a determined time...

Can a Network See an IMEI number without Sim card?

Hello,
Simple question...
not wifi will not send imei info
but in teory the mac address is also enuiq
Thanks for the reply...
I just got told from a custmer service person that if the IMEI number is blocked it will also stop it from even been turned onto its factory 'pda' mode to access details without a sim card!??
This phone is a Jasjam.
Can you make an emergency call without a SIM card? if so, chances are the IMEI is sent over while connected for emergency call. Howeve, I would guess that may probably on the other side of the network where not much attention is paid there.
I don't believe customer services on technical questions like.. 70% of the time. Some of they are just crap. From what I can think of, if your IMEI is blocked, you can still use the PDA as a PDA. There is a case here.. one of the thread.. where a guy found (as it lost by someone) a phone on block IMEI.. then used is as PDA (he cheekily ask if he can change his IMEI). Probably he got your phone?

Network Operator Does not Change After Unlocking

Hello
I would greatly appreciate any help in solving the issue below:
The phone in question is a SAMSUNG SM-A205U that has been originally locked to Spectrum network operator. The phone had a network sim lock, which was removed using an unlock service code.
Nevertheless, after the unlock it would seem that the operation was not completed fully....
As can be seen in the attached image - while the network does change to a different provider and calls can be made, the operator itself stays Spectrum.
Now, there exists an awkward condition: The operator is still Spectrum but the network is not his...
The result is even stranger - since I live outside the US it seems that every number I dial inland is dialed as if it is from abroad
(The phone displays a number with the international dialing code)
I am unsure what are the exact implications...but it cannot be good as the phone operates incorrectly. The operator should naturally be the same company its network I am using. Yet - when trying to change the network operator manually it always reverts back to Spectrum (even though the network I need is presented through the manual search)
Some questions:
1) Is there any way to relock the sim lock and then retry a code to network lock the phone again (I am sceptic...but had to ask)
2) If you encountered such an issue and have a possible solution - could you please explain it and I will give it a try?
3) Would an additional unlocking procedure (this time w/o a simlock but rather through an unlock server) may solve this issue?
4) In your opinion, assuming this issue is unresolvable what are the implications of having such a configuration on the phone (apologies for the lack of knowledge...)
Thank you so much in advance
Might want to try factory resetting the phone.

this also your might want to set network selection as Auto
Hello.
Thank you so much for your reply and suggestions.
Both actions suggested above have been tried. Nevertheless, the phone just keeps reverting to the original provider.
The manual provider selection I described in my original post was done after ascertaining that automatic selection seems to be overridden by a constant parameter configuration that resides in the provider's field. As indicated it did not work either
Hello
A (partial) solution have been found for this issue:
As it turns out - it seems that the device CSC is linked with the selection of the provider. Hence, by changing the CSC to that of the target provider's - the problem may be eradicated (Iy did so in my case). It could be that by specifying a "pseudo" CSC (that is not related with any provider) thereby "exempting" the phone from reverting to the provider it was originally signed with and then seeking out and locking to the provider that owns the network being used.
If you run into such an issue - please give this a try and update.
If you have some knowledge about this - please update or correct if necessary
Thank you so much

get the U1 firmware for the phone from sammobile.com/firmwares but use samfirm to download it(literally 4x faster that directly from the site) unpack the zip and flash the HOME_CSC in Odin
