so you guys. vote which one you think is better at the moment.
and why?
Well you know which way I'm going to vote
Phil
i know you do. just trying to see what the users think about them, now that we have more than one.
And a tie?
I am using the last version of challhsu with the extras of Phil. I like much the last one of challsu, but it has much memory occupied with the Chinese sources that I do not need. In addition, she is slower in the starting and seems less fluid (at least when installing to it xt9 and other applications in English or Spanish).
I like the one of Phil, but for me it has a very important problem: It does not have services STK and I need them for my dual sim. If it corrects this and some other cochair in the beta version, insurance that I change me her to save memory.
And…
Very many thanks to both equipment for the excellent made work and to share it with the community.
It does have STK services i think.... Check the /Windows/ folder, I may have forgotten it while writing initflashfiles.dat

Now I have the challhsu rom. And I will hope to your new beta version to return to change (too many flashes in these days).
The 5 days that I walked with your ROM, I made a lot of softresets and searches by “stk” in the registry and in archives, but did not even appear to me nothing. It is certain that I did not look for "initflashfiles.dat", but as I did not find anything, and nobody responded here, I thought that you did not give importance to it. Surely that in the beta version, you will remember. And you will recover a faithful supporter. (Just in case, I also remembered you it here ).
Greetings and spirit.

I'm sorry to see that some are taking this as a competition. :-(
Both ROMs are result of a huge personal effort of their creators, and both deserve our deepest respect and support.
Let's please take it in a more colaborative way. Everybody will bennefit from the shared knowlege from these "masters".
Cheers for challhsu and Phil! ;-)
Keep the good work guys. Thank you for both your effort.

Ditto! Amen brother.
I appreciate the courtesy and the effort of good souls from this forum who sacrifice their precious time for the rest of us. Thank you very much guys (and maybe gals ;-))! Well done!
that would be a good idea! do both of the creators think that a collaboration between them would help bring out even better roms and even faster?
I don't think we would/could create a ROM together (timezones etc) but I do think that us sharing idea's etc between us will benefit everybody as a whole. If challhsu asked me for advice on how to do something i would gladly share with them, doesn't cost me anything, and in the end, we all benefit
Phil
There is no point creating this topic, it depends on users preference, as both phi l and challhsu continue to develop their ROM, it would just get better and better.
However, I truly appreaciate both of them for their hardwork. To me, both you guys are the best. No one is better than the other
Yea, both Guys (or teams) are nice...and do a good work. And more Developers =>more Alternatives...and everybody have different needings.
Still waiting for the Ultimative SuperPerfectRom for SmartPhone... but i dont know how it looks & feel..
Sancta Maria Mater Patientiae (ma quantae patientiae)
…ora pro nobis…
To seeing.
Nobody is going to leave littel morals advices and is going to think freely on which it seems to him each ROM, the comparative improvements that would implement and advantages of each one?
If saints us allows it, to me it would enchant to me to be able to follow a testing debate “collaborative” and contrasts between the two roms that allows:
- To improve both.
- To help to decide as will be more effective for the new people whom they wish to change the ROM or, even, for us when our necessities change.
- To generate different rom versions, adapted to the most frequent necessities (by profiles?).
- To help both teams to take the best decisions.
- And a long list of others of advantages.
Of course, if someone feels offended, that does not go this way. That here we are all very thanked for to both equipment and nothing else far from our intention that “to judge them”.

I reflash my phone with your alpha rom and check for STK Services and I confirm that it isn't
I'm trying now to cook my first rom for the kaiser. I've enjoyed trying other ROMs here, but basically I just want to take all the apps and settings I like best from others and put them together into one, without the things I don't use. I'm not doing it to be a 'chef', just to make my device work best for me.
Based on that, when I have a version I'm satisfied with and will be using, should I upload it to share, or just keep it to myself? Based on alex's comments on the Rom Kitchen pages, it looks like he'd prefer everyone just make their own, without sharing.
I think sharing something like this is perfectly fine as long as you give credit to who did the upfront work on the base you started with, the oem packages you used etc. Just be prepared that if you do share, you will instantly have a thread to "support".
One of the guys in the Wizard forum didn't want to deal with supporting his creation so he just put a link in his sig for the latest build he was using. Then if someone wanted to download and try it they could, but there was no "official" support for it since it was a personal "reheated" rom. I'm sure he got PM's directly.
So really your call and good luck with the cooking. More addicting than flashing IMO...
I'm not sure how I'll do on the cooking, it doesn't seem too complicated with the various tools that are out there, but just re-flashing over and over to find something isn't right or got missed is going to quickly become a pain.
I'm left thinking maybe I should take another look at auto installers as well. I may be better off to use a speedy Lite rom and setup the autoinstaller to make things easy after a flash. Hmm....
you will get lots of 'white mouses' for free by sharing ur ROM here.... lol
If you realy want to be good you need feedback, and what is bether than thousens of us flashaholics and want-to-be-cheffs to give you just that mister?
Just wanted to say to all the cooks out there batiful work i still run ino issues now and then with which ever rom i am playing with but over all awesome jobs guys gonna try and join your ranks but i got to be careful as my test phone is my only phone atm lol. I see tons of stuff i would love to incorperate but of course getting it all to work together and have memory left will be interesting. Anyway beautiful jobs guys. I'll try not to be to much of a pest as i learn.
its hard to be a pest when learning to cook lol... just ask away and if you find any bugs just post them in the cooks post... =P I love seeing new people getting into it
For now those are the only places I've found on the internet that really try to do something about our phone. They're in chinese but google translator can get the general meaning. Registration is free and guys over there are really supportive. Go on and have a try. They already have a clean chinese/english 6.5 rom. It's not perfect but it looks like they're going somewhere...

If we gonna get enough people over there asking about clean ROM and other stuff maybe someone will give a damn about us.
Cheers.
I was thinking. A while ago I had very interesting conversatiion with guy called Nokser (he's developer contributing to this forum). What he told me was that he would be able to make a clean ROM out of original AT&T's WM6.5.
Now a "but". There's always a "but" isn't there ?
He said he would but he won't 'cause he lacks time. Everybody has to make a living and he can't afford to waste time for something not profitable especially when he's loaded with work. (Well OK. It's not what he told me literally but everyone can read between the lines, right?).
You have probably seen kitchens he made and you are quite aware he made life of at least few of you easier
OK, let's get to the point. Taking under consideration fact he made sucessfully i.a. i600 ROM probably he would be our (Jack's users) best bet for making i637 clean rom.
Like I said no one likes to work for free. My idea is to make small donations so he can finally help us and develop new rom.
I think it's the best idea and only one available right now.
What do YOU think guys and gals?
I'm pretty sure Nokser would like it. And I'm not trying to advertise or something...God forbid. I'm just trying to make mine and yours life easier and happier.
Have a good one! Cheers!
mykail
nice that would be cool for him to do that .but if he those make a rom add htc icons or iphone icons and change taskbar like htc phone.
Idk if you guys know., and but over on RootzWiki undead said he is leaving the device...

Indeed he is. It's rather unfortunate since he was a good developer for the phone, but he caused a great deal of controversy while around. All in all, I think it will have a negative impact on our phone until more people pick up development.
I just wish he'd open source his ROMs to everyone and not just one person though.
eh. He kind of wants to do what Roman did with Bulletproof. Give it to someone who can carry it on. Idk. Not our choice
Just my spare change.
well, i know he leaves, he does it kindly, trying to give advice and answers still in his rom threads.
regarding who he gives stuff to, i hope someone steps up, because i'm not planning to do any GB stuff, aside the miui port already done. i've got the ics sensation on my mind most of the time, so i hope there's some other devs around who might get his stuff in hand who he wishes to give it to.
