[REQUEST] Lava Lamp - Nexus One Themes and Apps

I'm a gadget geek, making gadgets work together and doing things is my forte. Programming is not or I would try myself.
I find it odd that no one has yet made a lava lamp live wallpaper yet. I used to use a lava lamp app on my old iFail and it looked great on a dock. Anyone have any interest on taking this up?

Plasma
There is a live wallpaper in the market called Plasma that's pretty sweet and looks just like a lava lamp. It's very customizable as well. Check it out.

What phone have I seen?

Guys, pull up a chair and put your feet up, I'll tell you a story.
As some of you may know, by day I'm a commercial lawyer based in London, and by night I steal ice creams from little children.
Right now I'm working on a possible anti-competitive practise investigation, and so am working in Brussels for a few weeks. Yesterday I got to the Eurostar station in Brussels, all ready for my plush seated journey home, when I discovered the unhappy news that all trains were cancelled due to a fire in London.
Anyway, that's the context of my story.
While fighting back the tears of anguish at the prospect of spending another night in a 5 star hotel with free porn, I noticed that the smart suited gentleman next to me was using an interesting phone that I didn't recognise.
Now, you could say that I've seen a phone or two in my time, but I didn't recognise this one. And it was a nice phone, ie "trading in the One Ring" for it nice. My Precioussss.
This phone: it was roughly the size of an excalibur, ie large smartphone format. It had a blackberry style keyboard (ie not slide out), was quite thin, and curiously, was smooth chrome/silver on the sides, although the front was mostly black. It had a large screen, although I didn't see the OS, and again, oddly, it had a nipple joystick like the Artemis that lit up white-ish when he touched it, much like my own erogenous zones.
Anyone know what it could have been? Me wants...

Was it the BlackBerry Pearl?

Yes! It was the Blackberry 8800... Hmm, they did well on the sexiness of the design. I've just received an 8700 from work, and can't say I appreciate the design much, but the 8800 is definitely more Vertu then Casio design-school. Very sexy.
But I think I'll stick with HTCs for now... Blackberry OS =

Exploded Android Wallpaper

Found a design I thought a lot of people here would like. Also available in t-shirt form. I havent tried it as a wallpaper (the resolution is only 559x422) but I thought it was pretty cool. T-shirts available as well.

I wish the quality was better...I might see if I can live trace this in Illustrator and get us a vectorized version....
cool shirt,
bought one

OK, here is an odd request - Can some one make a theme / icon based of a Peterbult?

I have been looking at the different themes / icons, and first off, my hats off to the ones who make them. I do my own stuff, but i admit, i cant hold a candle to some of you, so, if some one has some time, and a little creativity on their hands, could there be a theme / icon set made for a truck enthusiast? I have always loved Pete trucks, and, if there is a thread to the (to keep the finger pointing away) medical marijuana group, could there be room for a trucker?
PS - would be nice to see some of the new and old rigs in it..... LOL. I do have a wall paper, but, if a wall paper is included, there would be one addition from me, a pic of an old friend, but it would be cool to see what you guys can come up with....
Here is the Pete website: http://www.peterbilt.com/history.aspx

[Q] scale Touch screen pressure? diy project

Hi first at all let me apolgize for bad english
Question is It is possible use screen as scale
Will the screen hold up to 500g
I love to build diy project 10inch screen with android os (cheap from ebay aprox.130 euro) in kitchen work top as recipe book, scale, and player while cooking all together
It is just idea make life easy for my wife
Hmm, Android can record touch pressure. But I don't know how to implement the feature in your kernel.
I hoped someone can make app to measure pressure
something like this just build in work top not for chopping

You do realise that the screen is capacitive (accctually this is an assumption), and therefore anything that doesn't conduct or produce charge will do nothing when put on the screen.
It's an einteresting idea, however when I played around with the screen and touch events in the API I found it to be rather unreliable. Anyway, I'm not trying to put you off or anyone else, just stating some issues applicable to this idea.
You, sir, have just won the Dumbest Idea of The Hour award. Good show.

It really isn't a dumb idea, just not really practical with hardware we have available to us.
I think if he got his idea across more clearly it would make a lot more sense.
I will put the android device on scale ,built case and than put in work top and that's it android scale better then buy built in scale from meile (220€) which can't play music and store recipes still cheaper.

Question Kobo glo or aura - what's the difference? ereader newbie!

Ok, I was going to get a glo but then they announced the aura and I suddenly ended back at square one! Being new to ereaders I'm not entirely sure what is and isn't missing in these models. I know they both have the comfort light - which I'm very interested in because I usually use my ipad and it drives me nuts for reading (love it otherwise, not for books). I hated the eye strain, and the crappy sun glare and the fact that it lights up my bedroom like a spotlight! My ideal response would be from someone who has owned or used both models and can tell me how different they were. The stuff in the aura press release doesn't help much since I've never owner any ereader. Don't know what matters! I'd love any advice, I don't mean to sound demanding! Just being clear since so many of the new aura threads are filled with people who haven't received them listing possible issues or going off topic to non kobo ereaders.
I was reading another thread in the kobo board that got hijacked by a paperweight argument so I'd just like to be clear that I definitely am only considering one of these two models. I'm sure the Sony, kindle, etc. are lovely and I'm glad you like them. That's awesome. I just need to narrow stuff down! And since I was previously set on the glo I'd like to keep it to these two models or ill just end up giving up with frustration! Lol!
I'm also wondering about size, what issues do people who have used both have? Is it way easier to pack the glo around or is the difference quite subtle? Or are they both chunky so the glo would be better ? Anything is great though, hope I didn't put anyone off with my "this is what I want" harping! I need to pull the trigger on this before I go on vacation next week! i don't have a lot of money to throw around but I could justify an extra thirty bucks for the aura if it's really worth it. I know people are psyched about the aura but do any former glo users feel like the difference is kinda slight? Or are you totally blown away? If so, do you think that it's just a neat upgrade or did it add something that was lacking to the glo? Like, had you never gazed upon the aura would the added features have ever been anything you complained/had issue with on the glo?
Thanks
