multi touch keyboard - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

Hey saw this on engadget, and was wondering............ since the screen size is the same, when released will it be as simple as transfer apk to evo for multi touch keyboard.
here is the link to the "review" of the droid x with multi touch keyboard and swype keyboard built in
http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/15/exclusive-motorola-droid-x-preview/

I was just about to ask the same thing. I hope we can, looks like something id like to try!

I was wondering the same thing.
On that note, "Smart Keyboard Pro" on Android Market(not free) also has multi touch enabled keyboard

Its Swype, the guys will probably have it as soon as they get the Apk on their hands.

[Q] Has anyone got, or extracted from Omnia II, the Swype KB

I saw the Swype Keyboard Here and I see it's so far only available on the Omnia II, which runs WinMo 6.1. Has anyone sucessfully extracted it from there or know where/when it'll be available? My googling hasn't got me anywhere :/
Would be pretty neat to have on our massive Leo screens

They have a similar and very good keyboard

Agree with you. It's a very good keyboard. The only disadvantage is that it does not (yet) support landscape in WinMo6.5. Dasur wrote to me that they know this 6.5 problem and are working on it. Swype seems to be almost identical to SlideIT.

Symbols page is too small. Other than that, it's not too bad. And, yes, they COULD take advantage of larger buttons in the landscape page.

New HTC HD2 user.

I recently upgraded my phone to HTC HD2. My phone before was Samsung Omnia i900. My problem is I'm not liking the keyboards (only 3 keyboards) on the HD2, I keep making many mistakes. On the Omnia I think there were 5 or 6 different keyboards. The keyboard I used the most on the Omnia was, Samsung Phonepad, I found it very easy to use. My question: Is it possible to have this keyboard on the HTC or something similar?
Or if anyone can recommend another keyboard I would be very grateful.
Thx

There is a phonekeypad available, why not use that? alternativly, look for finger keyboard, Resco keyboard, or even spb keybard. they are good ones.

Vanilla Keyboard?

Vanilla keyboard available for DINC? Tried the Droid X and it's OK but really miss the vanilla I had on my Eris. Apk would be nice so I could install with astro(no root yet).

i've been using the xperia x1 phone for a year now and i loved it and it has THE BEST keyboard EVER, PERIOD!
i just bought the xperia x10 and i was wondering if there is an on screen keyboard for the x10 android that has the very same layout as the x1 keybaord with the fn keys also.
if there is or if someone is making it i will be glad to know about it.
THANKS in advance! [=
I'd like to know too, but for the 1.6 keyboard.
honestly it was amazing, had the smilies button and the ,. and ?! were all accessible without having to go into a different menu.
im surprised nobody has uploaded the keyboard for 2.1 users.

yes but what i mean is if there is any onscreen keyboard for the x10 android that resembles the hardware keyboard of the x1 which was PERFECT in every way heh
I switched my standard keyboard when i first got my android device to HTC_IME.
But for the past months I've been using Swype which IMO is the best keyboard out there.

Screen density and keyboard

Started finally playing with screen density. definitely love e density around 180 (Although may settle for 160 to avoid too many market issues)
That said as many probably have experienced using the keyboard becomes a pain (Yes I got accustomed to the big keyboard !)
Anybody knows of a keyboard bg enough that would fit nicely once shrunk to 160 / 180 screen density ?
Possibly the keyboard from a higher definition Tab could work I guess...
Anybody has tried? (Or has developed his own?)
have you tried Swiftkey X tablet keyboard or Thumb Keyboard??
I am on 192 dpi right now which is equal to 1280x750p unfortunately for me I need 1280x800p for a perfect fit .. but LCD Resolution Root doesnt support it i will try 180 or less to see how it goes.

Thanks in the end I picked Thumb Keyboard
Its quite good, although I definitely do more mistyping tan with Samsung's keyboard (Maybe just a question of training...)
i'm using SwiftKey and turned on big keys in the setting. before i tried hacker's Keyboard which also was handy and comfortable. as you said it's mainly a question of getting used to it.

Best ever seen, many dict available etc ... : MultiLing Fits nicely to any density/screensize. Have used it on ZTE Blade and on SGT P1000, currently 182 dpi
