app Request - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

I would like to see a fancast app. For those who pay a subscription to there cable providers. I only see 1 ok app that's called flicks but it only uses tv shows. And I think the subscription you already pay for would be way cheaper as well. Sorry posting this from my phone.

Slingbox Mobile

Any other Slingbox users out there angry that we pay for Slingbox and then they want to charge us $30 for the software to use it? I will personally be boycotting until I can find it elsewhere or they make it free.
from what i've read if your a Dish Network customer that owns the ViP 922, and you buy any SlingPlayer app, Dish Network reimburses those customers for the cost.
Considering Dish Network owns Sling, yeah
I will have to take a look at that thank you.
umm i dont know exactly what this forums stance on warez is so i wont post it here but if you pm me i have this apk, unless im told i cant by a mod cuz i dont wanna get booted from here i love this forum.

why would it be free? Every other smartphone charges $30 so i dont understand why you though android would be any different.
if you want something cheaper use orb
I Think it is Worth the $30
I bought the app for my Incredible the day it was released and don't regret it one bit. For occasional users, $30 might seem a bit steep, but it performs great, even on 3G and lets me watch tv anytime, anywhere.
Maybe since I bought my Slingbox a while ago, an extra $30 does not seem like alot. I think if I were to pay $200 or $300 for a Slingbox now, I would feel like I deserve to get it free or at a large discount.

You misunderstood me. Android should not enjoy special treatment. The Slingbox apps for mobile devices should ALL be free. Might as well charge for the PC/MAC software too. does the same thing just different OS. Doesn't matter if it's a PC/MAC/BB/Iphone/Android. just be consistent.
Simply follow the logic.
What If you bought a slingbox strictly to use with your laptop while traveling? Free software!
If I bought a slingbox to use strictly with my Android(BB,Iphone, whatever) device I have to pay another $30 for the software.

Dish Network subscriber with ViP 922 = Free!
Outside customer on DirecTV or Comcast = tough luck
Dish Network owns Sling and why would they want to extend a technology and service (from there servers i might add) to outside customers for free?
The one time fee is to pay for bandwidth / technology research most likely to improve the app over time.
Would you rather pay $20+ a year for something similiar? (aka PlayON or Hulu Plus for $10 a month!?)
be grateful that there only doing a one time fee and not charging a yearly fee to use it

I think $30 is cheap for this app. In my opinion this is the best app in the Android Market. It was killing me when it was not available to Android. So, I say thank you Sling Box and thank you for making it only $30.
I don't feel bad paying 30 for it.
I bought my original windows mobile license for slingplayer back when I had my ipaq running windows mobile 2003se. I have been using it on all of my windows devices ever since, for my moto q, mogul, vogue, and then finally my diamond. When it came out for android I bought it right away. I'm sure when you get a new android phone, you use the same google account, you will be able to keep this license just as long.
Bought it without hesitation.
Have been using on WM for years and use it all the time.
The Android version clearly shows tons of time, effort and development and is much better than the WM version ever was.
Sometimes you get what you pay for.
Don't know of anything out there that works as good for less.
I have the apk file available. I no longer have slingbox. Is it ok for me to attach file?

Amazon Cloud Drive 5GB FREE STORAGE!

I'm sure many of you experts are already up on this...but Amazon launched their cloud music service and are giving away 5GB of free storage! It works with Android phones!
Another post I found has this additional information:
To get 20GB of storage 69 cents for the first month...all you have to do is:
1. Purchase an MP3 album from the Amazon MP3 Store by 11:59 PM PST on December 31, 2011.
2. If you qualify for this offer and either have not signed up for Amazon Cloud Drive or have the 5GB Amazon Cloud Drive plan, you will be automatically eligible for the 20 GB plan for one year from the date of your MP3 album purchase. Unless you set your account to auto-renew to a paid plan, the 20 GB plan will revert to a free plan one year from the date of your MP3 album purchase.
3. If your Amazon Cloud Drive account is already at 20 GB or higher when you qualify for this offer, the offer will be saved to your account as a $20 credit toward any future Amazon Cloud Drive plan fees you may incur at the time your plan renews or at the time you upgrade your plan. If you elect to downgrade your plan to a free plan at the time of renewal, your upgrade offer will be applied towards the 20 GB plan at that time.
4. There is a 69 cent album HERE that would qualify (NOTE: you MUST click "Buy MP3 ALBUM" at the TOP RIGHT, NOT "Buy MP3" in the middle of the page.)
MORE INFO HERE.
Very interested in this, but at this point Audiogalaxy is fine for me (I almost always leave my computer on, and Audiogalaxy turns your computer into a streaming server for your music).
It's unfortunate that I'm on AT&T where I feel like I'm literally paying money every time I listen to streaming music (no unlimited data for me), or my Inspire would have already permantly replaced my ipod.
i just signed up
buy this 69 cent "album" and get upgraded to 20 g storage for a year free.

I'm using Subsonic, which is awesome. I still got the Amazon cloud as a backup, and what the hell, it's free. (Actually free for 5Gb. I bought the 69 cent Glee song.) I saw it yesterday on Slickdeals dot net. Great deal!
I found this out by accident, but you can actually get the 20GB for free. I did the one-click purchase using an expired credit card and then purchased the free song of the day. The first transaction didn't go through, but bumped me to 20GB. The second added the Amazon free MP3 and I had full access to all the space.

Returning Evo 3D to play with HTC Arrive... Am I crazy?

I can't deal with the missed calls, terrible speaker, and buggy camera software anymore... The UI is still sluggish even with dual cores... I am returning it before my 30 days, but I don't know if I will stick with the Arrive either. I am hoping I will be in love with WP7, but I am a bit annoyed that I will still have to pay the 4G fee, (essentially,) and won't have access to that network.
Have you played with it in the store for a couple of minutes? It may not be the same compared to using it day to day, but you should still be able to make a reasonable judgment. Start by focusing the priorities of what you want out of a smartphone and look to see how each works/might work your needs.
But in my biased opinion I don't think you'd be unhappy with WP7 at all. Maybe the form factor of the device, especially if you like a big screen and thing device. The Arrive, obviously, doesn't have those. So if that's a big concern stick with your Evo 3D or maybe go back, save your upgrade and hope launches some new Mango phones this fall.
wouldn't be crazy at all. the 3VO certainly has had quite a few issues that have been mentioned on here and on PPCG. the arrive is a great phone and its even better now that the mango beta is out in the wild. I find that u will not be disappointed with it.

I ended up not getting the Arrive either... I like how smooth it is, and they keyboard is great, but I just couldn't live with paying $10 more for no 4G... So I am borrowing my brother's old Palm Pre until the Photon comes out.
alot of people are misunderstanding the $10 charge it is not for 4G it is for true unlimited data and its worth it considering the great phone the arrive is especially with the mango update.

This man is correct. If you have a smartphone on Sprint..you have to pay the 10. I like how they come at people with this 10 dollars. Because they still say their data is 30 for unlimited, then they telll you you have to pay the 10..which looks better than looking at an ad and seeing 40 dollars for data.
i thought i had to pay the additional 10 bux to have this phone but i dont. i also am on the old sero plan. the sprint site just let me activate without having to adjust my plan. maybe it will catch up with me but so far i havent had any adjustment done to my account. will provide updates when possible.

Seriously? They didn't require you to upgrade to Sero Premium?
It is SERO Premium. So I was originally on the $30 plan. then they gave me an option to pay 10 more bux back to allow me to use the "newer" devices when the palm pre and hero came out. I opted. so yes i guess i pay 10 bux but for 40 a month. im not gonna complain. now for some reason it appears that any phone i seem to activate on my account via the sprint website i am not prompted to change my plan. unless its a blackberry which of course needs BIS.
So maybe in a sense I am paying that 10 bux but i was told id have to pay additional before but when i tried to activate this phone i didnt get prompted for another change...i dont know maybe i just made it sounds kooler than it was....

Remind me never to move to America with all these absurd charges mobile providers add on.
It's so much nicer in the UK where you pay what you pay and that's that...upgrade to a better phone and you'll still pay the same amount unless you agree to go up a price plan...

Much nicer in the UK? In England if you want to watch TV you must pay a TV TAX of $250.00 per yr/household. The govt has people that drive around with devices that can detect if you're watching TV. If you haven't paid the tv tax they can put you in jail! Talk about ABSURD charges!
BTW, PLEASE never move to America!

from what I remember, the extra $10/mnth was a foresight of the new "smartphone/premium data fee". the only thing it doesnt cover is the 4G service; however, you dont find me complaining
Er...the £140 TV License fee you do have to pay if you want to watch live television, yes. In return, we get something called the BBC (oh, you get that too, don't you? We pay for that, remember), and a HUGE amount of broadcasting infrastructure...You can choose not to pay it. It is NOT a tax. They used to have devices that can detect if you're watching a TV, but considering it's nigh-on impossible to determine that with LCD/LED monitors they generally just pop round occasionally now. Unless you offend repeatedly, you are highly unlikely to get a jail sentence, more likely a fine of up to £1000.
I would much rather pay £140 for TV then pay no other costs except for equipment, than a monthly fee. I would also much rather pay £140 for TV than ANOTHER £10 a month for having a smartphone, considering in the US even the basic tariff is more expensive than the UK, AND you normally have to pay extra for the phone.
I can promise you I will never move to America. I'm done with arguing now.

I hope you don't intend to activate that Pre on your account. It would be subject to the new fee if you did (see Sprint's comprehensive guide).

[Q] Android Market Tmo Payment Expired?

Ok, so I have been searching all night but to no avail. Has anyone ran into an issue where their TMo Payment Account showed Expired in the Android Market? When going through my phone, the only option for payment I have is Credit Card. When going through browser It shows Credit Card and "Tmobile USA Expired" which is greyed out. I am current with my bill and have tried both USD and other curancy apps. No luck
Also, I am running new Android Market. Thanks for the help guys
I'm having the same issue. Can't seem to find anything on the google checkout site, android market site, or tmobile site.
Same here. Meh
new market bug perhaps? just checked on my G2 and google checkout is normal (on the old market)
if no one else has reported anything similar, would make sense that it's something with the new market considering most people are still using the old one at this point.
I called T-Mobile, they said it was nothing on there end. Currently talking with android support at Google to figure out what's going on.
Deleting the account from Google checkout, then using the old market to readd the account gives the same result, show the T-Mobile account as expired.
I was able to purchase SBP Shell through my Tmo account, so it seems this may just be an isolated issue

It seems that billing to the Tmo account only works with apps that list the prices in whatever currency your country uses. I was looking closer at the Titanium Backup Pro Key and it says you must use a payment option that accepts charges Swiss Francs. I guess T-Mobile USA only accepts charges in US dollars.
I looked into that but some USD apps I was still unable to purchase in that mannor
Same issue...possibly resolved.
I just ran into this when I was buying SwiftKey X. It advertised for $4.07 from their beta app link, then it was $3.99 in the market on the phone and $4.05 on the market through the pc.
When I went to pay with a card, it told me the total would be £2.48. I guess they're masking prices and not telling customers that it isn't available through carrier billing without the USD being the final choice.
any1 figure out a fix? i wanna buy fpse!
I'm in the same boat. It seems to work about once a month. My bill was paid two weeks ago so it makes no sense. After about two weeks of waiting it'll let me buy the same app that I w3as trying to buy when it said it was expired.

Eliminating the $5 and second line charge

Is it possible. I don't really need the second number. While it may be a nice feature to have. I don't really see myself using the watch without the phone being near me. I just want to use the watch in conjuction with my phone.
It would be nice if we could use the watch without the phone, ON THE SAME NUMBER instead. But i'm good with the BT connection.

Dude I was in the same situation. I got mixed feedback from many different verizon employees. This is what I did, you need to buy the device full retail price. Add on the data plan and monthly line fee. If they do not activate it for you do not accept the activation, skip it. It will never show up on your account as long as it is not activated. If you did or they activated it you need to call in and cancel the service. You should not get an early termination fee because you bought the device at full retail. Luckily they did not activate it for me so I will only activate if it is an emergency. It is kind of an indirect safety feature. Now this is solely based on the feedback I got from a Verizon chat rep. I do not know if this will work the same for other providers. I disabled 3g connectivity completely and will never touch that setting again. The only thing is if I restart the phone it asks if I want to activate it, I just skip it every time. I know it does not show up on the account because I verified with Verizon and they said nothing is on their records. The rep also told me that they it should not be required to to use a data plan for the 3g device but the local Verizon store and website say otherwise. I needed to speak to a manager to buy the device because I told the employee that I was going to cancel the plan right after I purchased the device. He said we can't sell you the device if those are your intentions because that hurts us. I said that is not my problem let me speak to a manager. I wanted the 3g device for the speaker for call forwarding, Qualcomm processor, and bigger battery. In the end I got what I wanted. I hope this helps people trying to do the same thing.
The device is already activated. And shows up on my bill as a second number.
I don't care if it hurts verizon. I could have bought the watch for teh same price from bestbuy or whatever and they would have never known i had it.
Except, i got a $50 discount by buying the watch with the phone at the same time through verizon. $5 a month isn't going to kill me, It's just the idea of paying Verizon MORE then what we should be paying as it is. I mean, DANG. i can get sprint for half the cost i'm paying verizon. And have UNLIMITED services. The only reason i have verizon in the first place is because i'm a traveling man. Once i get a local job, I'm back with sprint.
Thanks for the reply.

I hear you man. Best Buy doesn't offer the Verizon Gear S2 3g yet. So you did not pay for the device at full retail? That's where they got you I think. I'm sure you can complain by calling verizon technical support.
The issue here is the eSIM. The 3G version has no SIM card, but instead the equivalent functionality built-in.
Because of this, the 3G version is only offered through carriers at the moment, because the eSIM must be flashed by Samsung or the carrier to bind it to the carrier. There is no consumer means for doing this, hence the 3G watch is not be sold independent from a carrier.
The eSIM, once programmed for a carrier, can not be changed to a different carrier (of course, this isn't TECHNICALLY accurate, it absolutely can, but this is a business model policy). So, again, no generic version.
I doubt there ever will be.
Just wondering why didn't you just buy the non cellular version if you have no interest in using that feature? Would have saved you money, and the headache of worrying if the line ever gets activated

Thats exactly why I got it. Mostly for the call forwarding feature. I got the bluetooth version for christmas and thought it was really dumb that there is no speaker included. So I returned it to get the 3g version. Luckily they did not activate it for me
i didn't know about the 3g differences. And apparently that's the difference. I thought i was just buying a second gen watch. For $250. Compared to bestbuy $300.
From what you guys are saying, apparently there's more to the specs then what i've been finding on the internet. Even bestbuy isn't listing the full specs. I'm guessing they aren't selling the 3g version.
I did my researching before deciding to buy. But apparently i didn't do enough research.
I guess my watch is on the payment plan with the phone. If i want to ditch the second phone number. I'll have to pay full retail to which i was quoted $500. The guy was speaking so fast he was more mumble jumble then plain and clear. So i have no idea on the actual price. I didn't even see the things listed on verizons websight.
I was also on the fence about extra plan for $5 or classic version. Now I actually was in situations when my phone was either in my car or left home and I was able answer phone call on my wrist watch.
Also I believe that esim can be either reprogrammed or reused by provider as long there is not active reactivation lok on the device.
