Flash lite 10.1 - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

Would we be able to have somebody with a nexus strip the plugin allowing us to run the upgraded flash. Just curious. Thank you.
Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk

*random FYI* I don't believe v10.1 uses the "lite" moniker anymore. The Incredible (stock) runs Flash Lite 4 I believe, which is kind of like Flash 9 for the desktop in terms of features. However based on what I've read, we'll have to wait until Android 2.2 is ported to the Incredible for Flash 10.1 because it involves a browser plugin class that 2.1 doesn't have. Keep an eye out though =).

Flash lite 4 shows up as 10.1 on Adobe's site and plays almost all 10 content. Flash lite 3 only supports up to Flash 9 and lite 2 supports up to Flash 8.
"Beer", it's what's for dinner.

[Q] Confused about Froyo vs Gingerbread

I have a 1.2 branch G-Tab with Andriod 2.2 (Froyo) running Brilliant Corners but I have noticed that a lot of people seem to be running CM7 (CyanogenMod 7?). I was under the impression that CyanogenMod requires Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), doesn't it? How did everyone get Gingerbread on their G-Tabs? Does it update when you load the CM7 ROM or other Ginger edition ROM?

CM7 is Android 2.3. So when you load it onto your Gtab you will actually be running gingerbread instead of froyo. Since you are running 1.2 based brilliant corners (which is a rom i would really recommend) you would have to switch bootloaders to a 1.1 version to be able to load Cyanogen Mod. It really comes down to what rom you like the best. If you are more of a "noob" who wants all the features possible, I would stick to a Froyo based rom, because video acceleration as well as everything else is possible. Basically the further you step away from android 2.2 the more things start breaking.
2.3 --> video acceleration (main)
3.0 --> camera, flash, video (main)
I hope this helps.

Cyanogenmod 7.1 on bootloader 1.2 is also available on Slatedroid an perhaps more. I have tried it. Nice, but as said, Froyo-based ROMs are the only ones that work 100%. On Cyanogenmod 7.0, gyro messed up Army. Iper, on 7.1 no sound at all.

I was totally gonna add that section but for some reason forgot I have personally tried them and they work well. I just said 1.1 because that is what it was initially developed on. Something tells me that sooner than later the Cyanogen Mod team will make the bootloader switch when they really start seeing their work ported to 1.2

dolphin browser hd already supports flash, they just got it, like skyfire.
but im testing it now on htc hero, will get back with results.
well w/ stock 2.3.3 android browser flash content loads, but if i try to play a video, the browser just shuts down.
with dolphin browser hd, its iffy, some stuff will play, other stuff wont & does the same, just shuts down.
whats a good site to test, ive tried hulu (says i need to enable java, but it is), cnn, espn, youtube, justin.tv.
also should we have the browser set to android or desktop?
i thought desktop loads pages just like a pc, but when i choose this, this is when the browser crashes when i try to play flash vids

That was Adobe, they want to move over to HTML5 for mobile. In fact flash player (for Android) is being killed altogether August 15 so it makes sense for them not to make it work on JB.
I thought they just going to remove it from the Play Store after August 15th, meaning you could still keep it backed up in Titanium Backup and just restore and use it. Will this not be the case?

Yes, you could do this, but you'd probably have to be in 4.0.4 at the latest.
I can confirm that flash still works on version 4.1.1 on the Galaxy Nexus. I assume it will be the same for the Nexus S.
Google said that flash support isnt needed on jb! The browser will fill in that part!

Hello,
if you restore Adobe flash from Titanium Backup seems to work on 4.1
adobe dropped support for mobile flash player before the galaxy nexus even launched, but they promised an update to support ICS and they did that and they said they will keep making security updates until finally removing the app from the playstore on august 15,they never said that the current flash player will not work on jelly bean,so installing the apk or restoring it from backup may and may not work.and with a linux porting kit available (as far as i know) maybe some dev will port it or maybe google will integrate it in chrome for android like firefox did for their mobile version.
i have test the port of Jb on nexus s and the flash player not working ... i try to find it from google play and isnt here ... then i install apk and no work on website .... i open site with flash and crash ... also no broswer open site with flash ...
No online tv ... no online game on website ... no miniclip ... site not view good because flash plugin needed...
Best way to get rid of the dependency on dying technology is to force everyone to stop using it
Flash ain't going anywhere period. Just a Steve jobs talking point for not allowing it on iOS.
Flash is a dying technology - still push QuickTime.
Flash not on mobile anymore but you won't see it off the net anytime soon.
But i want to see site that need flash player what i can do ?
I think this might be the case: In android 4.1, Chrome is the default browser. no unnamed android browser for Nexus 7, just chrome. And chrome doesn't support flash. that is why adobe says they won't support flash beyond 4.0.x.
BUT on the GN and nexus s, we still have the unnamed webkit browser on jb roms/ports, which were the same ones from 4.0. and it can handle flash just like it did in 4.0 since all the 4.0 api were compatible with 4.1.

Getting so close to daily drivers with the jb roms so exciting. A bit off topic, but anyone having issues with bluetooth media running? I have latest jbrom (i think) running on my ns4g and that is one issue I have run into. I can take phone calls running through my car kit but media does not work. It says it's working but it's not. I have tried anything common sense would ask of a human being. Something is definitely wrong. pm me with any responses please I dont want to clutter up this thread. Thanks in advance!!
Flash is old tech. Adobe is just forcing us to switch to newer teach like HTML5 is what I heard...

Amazon Apps (or Flash) on Android 4.1 (Jandycane ROM)

Okay, well one of the biggest concerns I have with a custom ROM is that I'd lose access to Amazon Instant Video. I've read that it's impossible to get the APKs from a stock Kindle firmware and put them on a custom ROM, unless the ROM is Gingerbread based, like CM7. Unfortunately I want JB 4.1.
So what I'm asking is, does anybody know a way that it might be possible? I can understand if not.
So if it's not possible, what about Flash? If you can spoof a desktop client and then go to Amazon in your browser that works. But Flash doesn't install on Android 4.1.
I've heard Flash will install on 4.1 anyways if you sideload the APK. But I've only seen this in other devices forums. Has anyone tested and verified it works on a Kindle Fire?
Thanks!

They will not work, the apps were built for gingerbread and seeing that the stock kindle fire image is gingerbread the apps have not been updated to be compatible with 4.0 or 4.1. I miss my prime instant video app, but I do have it on my TV so i use it that way.

My Note 3 is slower than Nexus 5!

Hello everyone,
I believe I tried everything before I start this thread.
My Note 3 lags in some apps like crazy and while scrolling in mobile websites (with JavaScript enabled). For example,
Flight24: The map in this app is very choppy and not very responsive, while its different story on my nexus 5. Its very fluid and smooth.
Cnet websites (mobile view): Also very choppy and slow in scrolling but not in the nexus 5.
Things I have tried:
- Get the latest firmware for my Note 3.
- Force 2D rendering under Dev option, clear cache as well as remove SD card.
- Factory reset
My Note 3 runs : 4.4.2 (N9005XXUGNG1)
My Nexus 5 runs: Android L M897aA-2.0.50.2.08
If you know anything that can help please do tell.
Regards
You are Using Android L vs 4.4.2 :-/

I'm pretty sure this is not the case in any of them and I will tell you why. I tested the same app FlightRadar24 on my friend S5 and wife z1 compact and they run smooth. I went back to my nexus 5 and downgraded to 4.4.4 to retest and the app runs just as smooth as on Android L.
The only thing that come to my mind is if I screwed my phone while changing firmware. Last time when I went to odin to install the firmware, I checked CP instead of AP which pretty much brick my phone. I was able to go back to download mod and install the firmware with AP checked this time and it worked.
So i'm thinking, could this be the cause of all the slow/choppiness i'm having with my note 3 or is it because of the large screen and the cpu/gpu have hard time keeping up.
BTW if anyone wants to try the app for me and reply with feedback I would appreciate it
(Flightradar24 Free), I can't post links yet
I have the paid version but this should be the same.
Regards
You are comparing TouchWiz ROM to stock Android ROM (especially Android L, which is even more tweaked for speed!) on same chipset (apart from RAM). No wonder, that Samsung is slower.

My friend has S5 and its just as fast as the nexus!
Test some AOSP ROM and tell us the results. I have a unique Nope 3 on my own, in any custom recovery wiping data/cache/system is brutally slow, takes up to 5 minutes, but flashing of ROMs and copying files over USB 3 is as fast as it should be. I posted a question about it and my Nope 3 seems to be quite unique in this and I also can't go to Samsung like "wtf TWRP and CWM wipe cache very slowly!", they'll kick me outta store before I finish the sentence.
So... backup whatever you have for a ROM and test an AOSP (unless your KNOX is 0x0 and you want to keep it that way).
If the speed is the same... welcome to the club of unique Notes, only yours will be more unique than mine.
My stock note 3 is ultra fast - you must have some kind of error... Have you tried reflashing the ROM or trying a custom ROM and kernel?
Tried greenify and freezujg bloat with titanium? Those methods work for speeding up a slow phone but to be fair even when completely stock, your phone should be extremely quick.

My house phone's better than your iPhone.

My mate who I helped flashing has the same problem. Well it works but it's slow. And his phone is stabl as a rock so I wouldn't worry about it!
Hey if its of any help I downloaded that app to my SM-N900A (quad core qualocomm) and it appears to run fine. Not sure what model of note 3 you have, probably an international? Here's a screenshot if that helps.
