LCARS theme well dialer you have to start somewhere ...

I posted this in GSM, as I am a gsm mod on villain roms but i thought you guys might be interested in helping out, I can and will port to a CDMA here when complete and if your interested

ok I am starting a LCARS theme for villain and would like some people to help me, I have done a test dialer to see how it looks and I think its got legs...
I want to do the whole phone and I mean everything, this could be the most complete theme yet.....
Ok lets start off, I will be making it for GSM villainrom, but will port once complete, this includes CDMA hero

I would assume that the posted picture is nowhere near the final version.

Why not, my gsm rom, is based on a cdma why not, also where else would there be more fans of the show? I thought it was pretty obvious

Just looking for opinions, and, if you guys want, I'll put it as a flashable zip when I'm done.

Great Start on this theme..
I do think that the red is a bit too saturated on the homepage (especially the clock background). The icons are spot on though.. Perhaps an option of different red/black wallpapers might suit those not looking for a bear junping out of the screen.

Ok cool, duly noted! It's weird though, because on the phone itself, the res is a LOT brighter on the homepage than it is in those screenshots. I really don't udnerstand why it's doing that... the bottom taskbar red though, is about right.
Now, could you help me with my question about the phone icon on the front page?

In terms of help, I know themeing and the file structure so what do you need help with? Which file are you looking for? If it's the phone icon on the bottom launcher bar, I'll tell you where that is in just a second...

Okay, give me one second and I'll find it for you. I'm 99% sure I know where it is..

Okay so I found it!! That bottom launcher with the phone icon is located in /system/app/Rosie.apk. I'm sure you know you have to extract Rosie.apk so after you've extracted it open up the Rosie folder and navigate to /res/drawable-normal-hdpi the phone icon is "icon_p_phone_on" and "icon_p_phone_rest"
I hope that helped. For anything on that bottom bar, definitely look in /system/app/Rosie.apk. For status bar stuff and UI images, you'll want to edit files in /system/framework/framework-res.apk and /system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk. To get a good idea of theme structure and where specific files are, I'd recommend downloading DetoxBlues Theme or Aloysius. I use those for reference when I want to make my own flashable theme.
Perhaps this is worthy of me getting that amazing wallpaper a tad early haha just playing

We Need to be gettin some froyo themes up in this joint!

Now that the Froyo development has entered final status thanks to DarchStar, we need to be getting some high quality themes up on here for it! So if you all will be so kind as to reply with high quality very well made and modern good looking themes from any ROM 2.0+ and I shall port them to Froyo or try my damn hardest to do so! Lets get this show on the road! The clock is ticking!

Fine suggestion I tried to theme it a few weeks back with no luck but I know I can now!!! Thanks! I'll prolly do all the different flavors of that theme.

Lol well they aren't getting paid, and the themes available now are pretty nice. I appreciate your attempt to rally up some enthusiasm for theming, but you kinda came off a little rude. Just saying.

My intentions were to rally up themers nothing more sorry if i did come off as rude. Didn't mean to disrespect anyone. The themes out are great... I just like to have a wide variety of them . Most of them out are either too dark or too bright for my taste though. But that green theme is badass. Currently using it right now. It has a nice balance...

hows the flavors coming along?? i'd definitely like to see that Yellow Snow flavor.. i got some ideas for it..

Personally I think the Hero could use more themes for CM6...
I started creating a theme myself specifically for the nightlies but i've been too busy lately to actually turn it into a full flashable theme.

And if anybody knows how to make flashable zip's and cannot come up with ideas I can put stuff together in photoshop and you can cut it apart and create a theme from it! Just PM me...

To create a decent all around theme takes days. It is very time consuming. I have started on so many different ideas, but get tired of staring at my screen that I stop and then in a couple weeks I start working on something else and just keep repeating the process. The only thing I am looking into is doing right now is ADW themes. If anyone has ever looked in any launcher app, there are hundreds of images to be changed and all the 9.pngs need to be fixed or whatever you want to call it. Maybe once I quit one of my jobs I will have a little more time off to mess with some things.

i finally got my feet wet into the theming world and looks like there's no turning back!!! so sorry to say that i will be working less with the splash and wallpapers and more with themes... i will try to get to the rest of the request as soon as possable so that to not leave any one hanging but any further request will be not ignored but delayed. i know i have a pretty good rep to shoot out request pretty quick but in order to master the theming game, i need to put my all into it. hope you all understand!!!!!

OK, with help from Cotys, i finally got the evo splashes covered.... here are some samples i've made for the Dinc forum. these are already converted for evo's..... I know some of these are made for the Dinc, but i could change them if need be, or hit me up if you want a certain image or an idea for me to run with!!
Just a quick disclaimer to cover my ass!!! I've been getting a GANG of request for team splashes showing logos and stuff... i have absolutely no problem making these, but i just want to get out the obvious, but still important, message.....

Place on root of sdcard, shut off phone and boot into hboot. It will find the file automatically, and just click yes it when askes to update, and yes when asked to reboot. That's it....

No... it will not restore your splash. You would actually need to reflash the original. Since I'm a Dinc owner, I don't have the original but would be able to make one, no problem. Just need the image.

Edit: ....the two pentagrams on top are my icons...
This dock was modded by me from an existing dock.... the pentagram in the center is the app drawer icon, 2 invisible icons on each side of the pentagram, And wall paper by me.

"conan" was waiting in the shadows (top man). the original images are from "wildcatcmc" who i have tried to contact but got no reply, but "respect", (hope your cool). i know there were a few guys who, like me, were after this little mod ages ago, so here it is. i'll post this link in another thread and hopefully they will pick it up. anyway, thats enough gassin from me, thanks an take it easy...

you got it my man, here's a cab that will install the "skull" slider to your lockscreen. Let me know how it works out. Enjoy..

Here's another set i threw together quick for ya using the same images. Let me know what you think of them..

Maybe you should change the title so other people can find this a little easier! Would be a waste if no one else gets to use these sliders.

Your welcome buddy, glad you like em! I add that "original grip"effect to almost all of my lockscreen sliders. If there are any other images, colors, or ideas for sliders let me know and I'll make them for you guys.

well, you're just a little bit of everywhere aren't you? If you have some spare time I would love a ferret lock slider made from any of the pngs that were used to make any of MWC cursors. Come to think of it, how would I need to rename the pngs to have them work for a lock screen slider?

LOL yup u caught me! Well its just that I like switching it up every once in a while and work on different projects, hence all the dialers, clocks, waitcursors, etc, etc..
This way I keep coming up with newer and better ideas without getting bored working on the same thing for too long a period of time. I'm also getting better and better with everything which is a huge plus.
Ok back to the ferret lockscreen slider.. I went ahead and made a set using the image you attached for me a while back when making your dialer. The images associated with the sliders that you'd edit or rename them to are: "htc_LS_LockSlider", "htc_LS_LockSlider_Dwn", "htc_LS_LockSliderLong", and last but not least "htc_LS_LockSliderLong_Dwn". Let me know what you think of this set. Enjoy..
