[THEME] HotChi

Hey guys! Just posted my newest theming effort in the 2.1 catalog. This should work on DamageControl 2.0.7, or flips 2.0d, or gbhill's 2.1...basically almost anything based on the newest sprint leak. If you like it, but you have questions, or would like to make a request, why not do it here instead of cluttering up the other thread? I'm not saying all requests will be granted, or all questions answered...but hey! It couldn't hurt to try!

Nice theme, but doesn't look like something that hasn't been done before.
Edit: ok read the quoted post, got it now. Keep up the good work. Eventually this will lead to some kind of addiction. Or so I've heard.

I'm pretty sure that Obannvi was the one to do the droid launcher in Sense. I haven't seen the guy around in a good while though.

ok I am starting a LCARS theme for villain and would like some people to help me, I have done a test dialer to see how it looks and I think its got legs...
I want to do the whole phone and I mean everything, this could be the most complete theme yet.....

Just looking for opinions, and, if you guys want, I'll put it as a flashable zip when I'm done.

Great Start on this theme..
I do think that the red is a bit too saturated on the homepage (especially the clock background). The icons are spot on though.. Perhaps an option of different red/black wallpapers might suit those not looking for a bear junping out of the screen.

Ok cool, duly noted! It's weird though, because on the phone itself, the res is a LOT brighter on the homepage than it is in those screenshots. I really don't udnerstand why it's doing that... the bottom taskbar red though, is about right.
Now, could you help me with my question about the phone icon on the front page?

In terms of help, I know themeing and the file structure so what do you need help with? Which file are you looking for? If it's the phone icon on the bottom launcher bar, I'll tell you where that is in just a second...

Okay, give me one second and I'll find it for you. I'm 99% sure I know where it is..

Okay so I found it!! That bottom launcher with the phone icon is located in /system/app/Rosie.apk. I'm sure you know you have to extract Rosie.apk so after you've extracted it open up the Rosie folder and navigate to /res/drawable-normal-hdpi the phone icon is "icon_p_phone_on" and "icon_p_phone_rest"
I hope that helped. For anything on that bottom bar, definitely look in /system/app/Rosie.apk. For status bar stuff and UI images, you'll want to edit files in /system/framework/framework-res.apk and /system/framework/com.htc.resources.apk. To get a good idea of theme structure and where specific files are, I'd recommend downloading DetoxBlues Theme or Aloysius. I use those for reference when I want to make my own flashable theme.
Perhaps this is worthy of me getting that amazing wallpaper a tad early haha just playing

Here's a concept for the ROM I'm working on, "Black Betty"
It will be based off of Calkulin's EViO 2 Series.

A Boot animation would be cool, except I would probably blow up my battery from resetting my phone. lol Besides, I would keep getting pissed that the pour didn't finish, unless you wipe dalvik on every reboot...

There is no ETA on this project. Nor will I say that this will ever be done, I'm doing this in my spare time and I just wanted to show my progress with everyone, if I get this theme fully functional I will share it with everyone here.

You can change the thread title yourself
The wallpaper is effing awesome, but it does make it difficult to view your thread at work I think it's a fair trade.. heh
I like the originality of the dock. Have you done any themeing for Sense? I'm guessing you built the screen shot in layers, if so you should definitely check out the images Sense uses just to be aware of their dimensions. You might be unpleasantly surprised by some of their inconsistencies and could creat a huge headache for yourself if you get things all sorted out then realize the restrictions you will encounter based on image sizes/layout/etc..
Good start though. The dock is slick, at least from what I noticed for the few seconds I was able to tear my eyes away from that amazing...uh... notification bar

In fact I have not, this is going to be my first project, I thought it would be fun to do in my spare time
Thank you for the information, as I was not aware of that, but I'm kind of use to having to redo things from one medium to another, I'm an intermediate web designer so hopefully it will be a little similar so I will have some ground to stand on.

dont have an evo or sense, but i gotta say that's a damn good lookin mockup..
