I've been searching the raphael forum for a solution and haven't come across anybody who has experienced this problem let alone how to fix it. When I restart my Fuze or load a new rom the device defaults to landscape mode and has to be manually set to portrait. When I slide open the keyboard the screen stays the same. The keyboard is another issue. The backlight doesn't come on and the keys are unresponsive. When I boot into Android the Screen defaults to landscape and the keyboard backlights turn on (and never turn off) but the keys are still inactive. Does anyone know a solution?

Sup,
Just curious, is there any way to change the screen to landscape on startup? Meaning when the device is turned on, it will be in landscape and you can switch to portrait any time with that bottom bar button.
I googled this and found nothing. There was that registry in GDI Rotation Angle, but it did nothing and resetted on reset.
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
there is a way to do this, I have done it some ROMs ago. You have to disable one device. I had done it with a process manager tool from this forum. I don't know the device right now but I will search for it and post it here.
its OEM_Misc.dll device.
usually identified as " MIS1: ". stop this device and automatic screen rotation will be disabled.
it worked but then the screen shut off and i hit the power button and it was restarting
any ideas?
thanks
I would like my phone to autolock when I push the on/off button. I know that Diamond Tweak has this option and it works. However, there is a BIG problem that I can't figure out how to solve.
When autolock is enabled, the screen backlight is on very dim when the phone is turned back on, regardless of the backlight settings. I do NOT have 'autobacklight' on. After unlocking, the backlight stays dim no matter what happens. The only way to get the backlight back to a higher setting is to go into backlight settings and move the slider before it readjusts. The odd thing is the backlight setting is set to a bright setting but is being ignored. This happens on every ROM i have tried. Obviously this is quite annoying and inconvenient.
Anyone know why the autolock function completely overides the backlight settings? Anyone know how to fix this?
TIA!
this happened to me when i manually made teh reg tweak. go to settings personal lock and set the time to lock to 0 minutes. this should accomplish the same thing
EDIT: do you mean just the screen lock? cuz i've been trying to do the same thing but no one could help
+1 on this problem.
Each time the screen locks the backlight does not come back on when unlocked again. The only way seems to go into the backlight settings and change it which seems to re-enable the backlight. Does not seem to matter whether I manually powersave the device or let the powersave kick in automatically.
I am using Energy Rom W6.5 for Raphael. Am using the old Windows Default screen lock app (i.e. not the new WM6.5 screenlock).
Does anyone know how to set the backlight to switch back on after an unlock?
Have trawled the forums/Google with no success.
Thx!
I spotted this on the at&t user forums. It's for the Kaiser/Tilt/8925, but wondering if the same "fix" could be applied?
I have the same issue. If the screen "wakes up" most of the time it is dim,
and I have to hit the on/off button to get it bright enough to see the screen.
I have been experiencing a similar issue. My Tilt doesn't just dim the screen, is actually goes into sleep mode (black screen) after about 15 seconds. I called HTC directly and was told that in addition to the backlightfix.cab available on the HTC web site, they have a second file for people like us who aren't helped by that file.
In order to obtain the alternative fix, you must contact HTC e-mail support and describe the problem. They will then e-mail the new fix to you. You can e-mail HTC support here: http://www.htc.com/us/cs_mail.aspx. Hope this helps!

Hey guys,
Out of the blue my Fuze will simply have the backlight only in portrait mode. I can fix this by opening the device into landscape then closing the device. The screen will display an image until the screen goes to sleep or the device is turned off. But once the screen is off, portrait mode will again not display anything but the backlight. I really don't understand this, it doesn't seem to be hardware because it is predictable and I can do these steps to fix it every time. It can't be software though, because I've soft reset, hard reset, restored, and reflashed to NATF 4.7, NATF 4.6, then back to NATF 4.7. Any clue, I'm stumped...
Hi, I have problems with my screen. I dropped my Touch Pro in the ground and after that my screen rotates when I touch it. Switches from landscape to portrait every time I press the screen and if I do it again it switches again from portrait to landscape hope you get me.... Another problem after that is when I press the turn off button to turn the screen off it turns immidiately back on, so the screen is always on and my battery doesnt run long because of that. I'm wondering if the screen is broken or can some other sensor in the phone be broken? Have some of you heard of this happened before?
Sorry about my bad english I hope you get what I'm trying to say
Regards

Hi!
Did anyone here notice that the screen rotates from landscape to portrait mode every time the Phone Dialer appears? Like for instance, when you short press Send (Dial) Key or when you get an incoming call?
I have tried so many differend ROMs I don't even know which one I have installed now. The described behaviour was the same on all of them.
Is there any way to fix this? I have tried 'auto rotate' but it just looks silly: when i get incoming call, the screen first rotates to portrait, then 'auto rotate' rotates it back to landscape and I can't answer the call during all this rotating going on
You probably need to flash back to stock or do a MTTY Task 29 then flash a custom ROM, sounds like you have some residual affects from previous flashes.
Thanks, I guess this is the only thing left to do. I assume you didn't notice this behaviour with your Topaz? The phone app also has other bugs, like the button "Save to contacts" does nothing...
Does it stay in landscape mode? or does it only do if for a second or less and then switch back to portrait? I recall having a similar problem on one of mine... I just did a hard reset tho and that fixed it for me.
If auto rotate is turned on it rotates back to landscape (but ti takes more than a second), else it stays in portrait mode. It's good to know hard reset (better with format) really is the solution. I will try it when I find some time.
