Hello everyone...
I have been running around with my inspire naked, but would like a little protection..
I really reply on my GPS a lot....looks like a lot of the cases interfere with GPS reception..
Anyone had any luck finding one that doesn't..??
Thanks..
just posted pics on the GPS friendly, htc TPU case here.
Thanks...I had a seidio innocase 2 on my nexus one and really liked it..
Anyone reporting any problems with the innocase on the inspire.?

I'm using the Otterbox Defender case for a DesireHD and everything works just fine.
Otterbox commuter
Inspired from my Inspire 4G using XDA Premium App
I use the Platinum case from Best Buy and have great GPS. It is exactly like the Seidio Innocase just with a different branding.
Otterbox Defender - Grab GPS signal within 5 seconds and it tracks VERY well.

I have this as well, and it degraded the GPS signals when I tested it...
Perhaps it doesn't degrade the signal as much as other cases, but in my test it failed.
The Case-Mate Barely There Matte Black case has nearly no negative impact on GPS though.

i dont have this TPU case, but i have a the bodyglove mirage TPU case. really bummed that it degrades the GPS too. dont see why a flimsy rubber case would do that. without case i can get locks between 3 and 9 meters, with the case its more like 20 meters. booo.
I am using Otterbox Commuter without any issues.

I really don't understand how could a piece of silicon interfere with GPS signal. On my Inspire I've had Otterbox Commuter, Bodyglove, Speck Candyshell, Case Mate Barely There, as well as few generics and NONE of them interfered with GPS. Are you sure it's not the actual GPS you're having problem with? Have you tried installing on of the GPS scripts from the development forum to see if it improves reception?
I dont understand it either but it does. Without one I get almost instant lock on and 6m error and with it back on it goes up to 90m!
I am now using a mesh case from ebay
Similar to the barely there case but mesh

I am stock as well no root

Root shouldn't matter. I would consider a warranty replacement.
so which one did you like best?

This is OT or barely a tangent, but which one did you like the best? I ordered an Otterbox Commuter over the weekend; it hasn't arrived yet but now I'm wondering if I should have researched a few more first

Otterbox Commuter is my hands-down favorite. Not too bulky, offers good protection, and makes the phone (IMO) look better. The only thing I did not like about the case was the rubber "door" at the bottom that protects the USB and audio ports because it would never stay put, so I ended up cutting it off.
with another case or caseless I get 6m lock with the amzer jelly it jumps to 30 to 90m

Mine finally arrived yesterday and I love it; I also bought my mom one for her Captivate for Mom's Day, but that particular model didn't turn out so nice, with some gapping of the flexible skin and a hard case that doesn't go around all sides. So maybe we got lucky with ours? As far as the door on the bottom goes, I figured out that if you bend it in the middle it'll pop in and stay, so I won't cut mine off
I've currently got the Defender but it's WAY too thick and the front bezel part is in the way too much.
In the past I've just used a basic slim TPU or similar case coupled with a vertical slide in holster. My problem has been finding a holster that is big enough to fit the phone with the slight bulk added by the cases I know of. Any thoughts?
I never drop my phones and they always look brand new when I sell them a year later, so the defender is way overkill for me...anyone interested in it because I'll be selling it when I find something new.
Casemate barely there. You can thank me later..

That looks pretty good, although it doesn't look like the camera portion is thick enough to protect the camera at all, even by a millimeter. Do you have one? Does it offer any protection at all?

Ok, so I got one anyway and the answer is NO, it doesn't protect the camera at all. The Camera bezel is perfectly flush with the case. That being said, it's the only real negative about it. It's SUPER easy to take off if you want to go naked for some reason, the holster works great and the case itself provides just enough grip and heft to make it easy to hang onto.
I'd say about a 8/10...
anyone want a lightly used Defender?
I use the Seidio Innocase but it might be too bulky for you as well :\
I'm searching for a holster/pouch/belt clip for my phone. It's not to protect the phone, but the headset instead. I always go around with the headset connected and eventually they go bad, possibly because my phone is always in my pocket and the cord gets alot of twisting. I'm now on my fourth headset since buying the phone last December, and think that to protect them better I need to wear the phone outside...
My phone already has a fishbone case, so the accessory has to be large enough to fit it. I also want the ports to be easily accessible, so the headset doesn't have to be disconnected when I take the phone out, and possibly so I can charge the battery on the go with my power bank. I've seen some possibilities, but they're typically too small to accompdate my existing case, or the clips come with cases themselves and probably wouldn't properly fit mine. So I'm seeking some advice to find a suitable clip/holster.

Put Ghost Armor Matte on my Skyrocket but am getting annoyed with how parts of it peel. Used to throw Best Skins Ever on every device without issue. Any suggestions on the best thinnest case vs. protective skins?
The Cellaris case here seems interesting for it's aluminum cover: https://www.cellairis.com/product/cellairis-fender-case-for-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-skyrocket-i727-black
So does this cheap TPU case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678753
Thinnest case probably is the Rearth Ringke.
http://www.rearthusa.com/galaxy_skyrocket.html
I m using diztonic TPU, not sure if it is the thinnest but is quite nice

I have a generic TPU case (no idea what brand) and by my ruler/eye it is 12mm, so the one linked above is only .5mm thinner. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't notice the difference.

I have the BodyGlove case. It's hard rubber, nice grip and adds protection to the screen because it overlaps the front of the phone. It works well because I've dropped it on my concrete patio out back and the phone was unscathed. The best feature was the $10 price tag at WalMart. Looks similar to the Rearth Ringke and the Diztonic TPU. Great purchase.
I have found the Seidio Surface line to be the thinnest and offer the best protection. Excellent product, have had this model on my last three devices.
This case is hard shell with thin padding on the inside you protect the finish of your phone. And it has a matte finish that gives your Skyrocket a much better surface to hold on to that the slick stock finish.
You can find the case alone for around 25 bucks, or with the belt clip holster as a combo for 30 - 35 if you Google in the right places.

Hrm, had a Seidio holster back in the Blackberry days, solid products. Didn't realize their cases were also now among the thinnest.

The Surface case is very thin. Here's a video review I located.
Excellent case IMHO.
And here's a link to Amazon with a pretty good price on the case and holster combo -> http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-BD2-HR3SSSKY-BK-SURFACE-Holster-Skyrocket/dp/B006NYOW8S/ref=pd_sim_cps_6

Jus' sayin', y'know, if blue's your thing...
Thanks guys. Think I am sold on the Seidio given the 1mm thickness and past use of their stuff. Have the TPU case from here on order but might just get both and compare.

I'm tempted to get the blue Seidio considering how little it costs, but the wife might just kill me if I have another case delivered right after getting my new Diztronic TPU (which replaced that black case after I destroyed it, which replaced the Diztronic TPU she now has, which replaced a series of Dragoncell hybrid cases, which replaced an Otterbox, etc...I have case ADHD).
If it helps domestic peace any it seems the Platinum case / rebranded Seidio Surface + Holster can be had on eBay from US sellers for around $10 Although reading some threads it seems it only comes in black.
I think I'm going to get one of these although I am seeing some posts saying that the bottom can be a little loose for some. Hoping it's the exact same build quality as the Seidio branded version.

Don't worry about resurrecting an old thread... Our accessories forum isn't too active anyway
I have the Infuse 4g dock (compatible with skyrocket)
However there isn't that much space. The dock works best when the rocket is naked

Thanks for the reply.
Bare phones always seem to work better with docks. I have this dock in picture and that's the one I'd like to know if it would work with the seidio surface case.
To answer own concern, yes it does fit. Perfectly.
Sorry I couldn't edit my top post.

Hello,
I've come across this case on ebay, which is a bumper + gorilla glass back cover from what I understand.
~I can't post external links because of my post meter, so just search ebay for "Luphie Metal Bumper Gorilla Glass Cover Slim Case for Samsung Galaxy S6 /S6 Edge".
It looks amazing imo, wondering if anyone know anything about that case.
It pretty much preserves the original looks of the phone which I love, I wonder if it does protect it in case it falls though.
Metal bumpers will kill your GPS completely and (slightly) decrease your cellular signal when it's on.
I don't have this one, but I bought a different metal bumper.
I would love to hear from someone with actual experience with this case if the above statements are true. This is a pretty sweet looking case!
The Rhino Shield will do that for you ~ They have pretty high protection (4 meters free fall!) without any bulk.
You can find here: http://www.evolutivelabs.com/collections/rhino-shield-products-for-samsung-galaxy-s6
Its pre-order but they ship this week
Yes, but the RhinoShiels isn't as pretty! I still wonder about the real world use of this one.
I ordered the case the OP is referring to. I will make a thread when it arrives.
looks great, keep us posted, bro.
BTW, I have a metal bumper case, and it works well.

I can completely verify this. I have a Verus Iron Shield case and while it's a premium feeling case, my GPS signal is **** and I'm REALLY noticing the signal loss problems. I'm actually in the market to find a replacement case because the issue is so bad.

Bummer! I have the spigen neo hybrid, and it's very similar to the verus in looks, but doesn't kill the signal. The "bumper" around the edge is plastic.

No they have two different products, the metal one and plastic. I have both.
Anyone has any feedback yet?
I got one of those metal bumpers for the edge. They are super nice quality. Will impact signal slightly. They look epic but are very sharp, literally. Didn't feel comfortable, but it was also the edge phone so our could have been that too.
