Amzer jelly case - HTC Inspire 4G

I got the white and orange ones and they both interfere with gps
sent from planet snarf

I really don't understand how could a piece of silicon interfere with GPS signal. On my Inspire I've had Otterbox Commuter, Bodyglove, Speck Candyshell, Case Mate Barely There, as well as few generics and NONE of them interfered with GPS. Are you sure it's not the actual GPS you're having problem with? Have you tried installing on of the GPS scripts from the development forum to see if it improves reception?

I dont understand it either but it does. Without one I get almost instant lock on and 6m error and with it back on it goes up to 90m!
I am now using a mesh case from ebay
Similar to the barely there case but mesh

Root shouldn't matter. I would consider a warranty replacement.

so which one did you like best?

Otterbox Commuter is my hands-down favorite. Not too bulky, offers good protection, and makes the phone (IMO) look better. The only thing I did not like about the case was the rubber "door" at the bottom that protects the USB and audio ports because it would never stay put, so I ended up cutting it off.

with another case or caseless I get 6m lock with the amzer jelly it jumps to 30 to 90m

Mine finally arrived yesterday and I love it; I also bought my mom one for her Captivate for Mom's Day, but that particular model didn't turn out so nice, with some gapping of the flexible skin and a hard case that doesn't go around all sides. So maybe we got lucky with ours? As far as the door on the bottom goes, I figured out that if you bend it in the middle it'll pop in and stay, so I won't cut mine off

Otterbox commuter series case

Does anyone have any experience with this series Otterbox case? I don't really care for the size of the case on the iPhone, but i've only seen their defender series up close. This commuter series for our phones look nice, but until I can get some feedback I might wait on making the purchase.
Anyone?

I don't have any experience with Otterbox cases, but I can tell you that more than a few people around here were "patiently" awaiting their arrival for our phone.
I've been waiting for a solid case as well, but something that doesn't add too much bulk and weight to the phone like the Otterbox Defender does to the iPhone.
I saw that it was available yesterday and almost ordered it.
I had one on my incredible and really like how tough it was, however it does make the phone seem much larger, after my wife wanted the inc she wanted a pink or purple case so I sold the otterbox and gave her a Seido active purple case, wich does not seem as protective as the otterbox, but is also thinner.
I have a cheapy <$3 amazon rubber case on it, and I am very tired of it being hard to get in and out of my pocket and the case being so stretchy....I kind of like those "Breeze" mesh snap on cases on ebay for $13 because of how slim they are, I am torn on one of these or the otterbox....my only worry with the otterbox is how much bigger it will make the phone.
Justin
Zagg...case free...not one complaint...there are others like zagg that do the same job but zagg is very reliable and you can get a new case whenever you want for the shipping cost of like $4...

I had a Otterbox case for my Droid 1, and it was nice. Added a lot of bulk to the phone, but I was confident it was safe. Waiting to see what the Fascinate case will be like.
My buddie has the Otterbox case on his iphone 4. Its well made but very bulky. Too bulky imo. Personally I went with the kickstand case from verizon. There is already a discussion about on here so I wont go into the details. Slap on a screen protector of your choice and done.

Just got the case in the mail. I think it's great. It does make the phone a little bulky, but no too much IMHO. The main problem I have with it is that the hole for the speaker does not line up and actually covers up half of it. Not really worth returning it for, but it irks me slightly.
@CouchSpud, Any way you can post pictures? I've been looking at this case, but it looks like the pictures on Otterbox website are of a silicone only case similar to the Impact series for the Captivate. Then when I click the link to PDF specs, the spec sheet shows a Commuter case for the Captivate instead. Curious what they sent you?
If I understand the difference correctly, the Commuter case should be a polycarbonate cover over a silicone sleeve, while the Defender case is silicone over polycarbonate. Or does the defender case have silicone on both sides of the polycarbonate (3 pieces)? Not sure why the Defender would be better...

No problem. It's only a two piece case and it has a silicone interior and a polycarbonate exterior.
The first picture shows the silicone interior to the left and the hard exterior to it's right. The second picture shows how thick the case is compared to the phone by itself. The last picture shows how far off the hole for the speaker is.
o man thats a deal breaker for me... I really loved my otterbox on my Droid 1 it was amazing in terms of protection and I was going to order this too before I saw that pic of it covering half the speaker. Thats ridiculous... how could the mis-align the phone with the case.
I just received the case yesterday and It does add bulk to the case but feels very solid and will keep the fascinate very safe... i thought the covering of the speaker would be a problem but I don't notice and change in sound. Could be a little cheaper ~$40 with shipping.

Always look up coupon codes before you buy something online. There was a 10% off/free shipping coupon that drops it down to about $31.
Oh man, that sucks that they covered the speaker up.. I just ordered one of these which should be arriving any day now
I can't believe they didn't check this before running them.

[Q] Good holster?

I've currently got the Defender but it's WAY too thick and the front bezel part is in the way too much.
In the past I've just used a basic slim TPU or similar case coupled with a vertical slide in holster. My problem has been finding a holster that is big enough to fit the phone with the slight bulk added by the cases I know of. Any thoughts?
I never drop my phones and they always look brand new when I sell them a year later, so the defender is way overkill for me...anyone interested in it because I'll be selling it when I find something new.

That looks pretty good, although it doesn't look like the camera portion is thick enough to protect the camera at all, even by a millimeter. Do you have one? Does it offer any protection at all?

Ok, so I got one anyway and the answer is NO, it doesn't protect the camera at all. The Camera bezel is perfectly flush with the case. That being said, it's the only real negative about it. It's SUPER easy to take off if you want to go naked for some reason, the holster works great and the case itself provides just enough grip and heft to make it easy to hang onto.
I'd say about a 8/10...
anyone want a lightly used Defender?
I use the Seidio Innocase but it might be too bulky for you as well :\
I'm searching for a holster/pouch/belt clip for my phone. It's not to protect the phone, but the headset instead. I always go around with the headset connected and eventually they go bad, possibly because my phone is always in my pocket and the cord gets alot of twisting. I'm now on my fourth headset since buying the phone last December, and think that to protect them better I need to wear the phone outside...
My phone already has a fishbone case, so the accessory has to be large enough to fit it. I also want the ports to be easily accessible, so the headset doesn't have to be disconnected when I take the phone out, and possibly so I can charge the battery on the go with my power bank. I've seen some possibilities, but they're typically too small to accompdate my existing case, or the clips come with cases themselves and probably wouldn't properly fit mine. So I'm seeking some advice to find a suitable clip/holster.

Sensation Otterbox vs. Casemate Tough Case

Hi - was wondering if any one here could shed some feedback on their experience, etc., as to which case to get among these two as I think I've narrowed it down to these two.
I've bought one of those $5.95 Amazon cases which is alright, do I gain anything by buying either one of these.
Thanks
wow 5.95 can you share where to buy it a link please for 5.95

I also own this case and I will say that unless you want a little bit of extra drop protection then you have nothing to gain. The button design and cutouts on this case are perfect. The case is not bulky and gives the phone some traction so it doesn't feel like it's going to slip out of your hands.

If you are looking for the best case with the best look, protection, feel and all that, check out the case mate pop. Its a tight fit so taking the phone in and out take some practice. It gets easier with time though. I have the white one.

waiting for otterbox to come up with a defender case. although might be difficult with the shape of the screen
The Tough is awesome. Good protection, good grip and the fit is nice. Just don't expect it to be pretty. If anything, it reminds me of a tire because of the hard shell's texture lol.
Haven't seen the Otterbox in person, so can't comment on that.
I have the otterbox and the case mate and they are both nice but I prefer the case mate because of the textured back which adds TONS of grip to the back opposed the the slick plastic on the otterbox.
They look the same

CASE MATE is my favorite I have 5 cases but the Case Mate Tough Case never leaves my phone(unless i am swapping battery or memory card ). Also i have had quite a few (high) drops and it is still running perfect.
what i like about the otter over the case mate is that the ports are all coverd in the otterbox

I purchased the body glove when i bought the phone, let me say worst 20 dollars i spent ever. The thing broke from the hinge in my pocket. Either one of these to options is better then the BG
Along with amazon, I find ebay to be even cheaper.
Saw and felt the Otterbox Commuter for me its a good case. It has good all over protection of the phone, However the back side of the otterbox is kinda sleeky than the back cover of the sensation.
I personally have the the Otterbox Commuter case for the HTC Sensation, so I cannot comment on the Casemate. I like the Otterbox for the design to protect the phone between the impact case and gel case together for protection, plus the headphone and USB port covers. The hard plastic impact case is not the best for grip, and the gel part of the case is a major magnet for lint from your pocket.
Hope that helps!
Edit: OK, missed something myself. Wanted a charging dock that supports a case, so I bought one. But it won't work very well if there is a USB port cover, so just something extra to consider!
Does anyone know if they updated the Case-mate tough case design, where originally they had the mic above the camera lens covered? I could have sworn I saw a thread where Case-mate said they were going to update their case and just uncover for that one hole. Just curious if anyone has bought it lately and knows.
I got mine in January I think and it still has that hole covered up. Is that hole supposed to be the noise cancellation mic? I'd have to ask my wife if my call quality has gotten worse since getting this case, but knowing her she wouldn't notice anyway lol.
If anything, it's probably not hard to just drill a tiny hole into the casing.
I have the otterbox commutor, and its sad to say. It is the first Otterbox ive owned that im disappointed in. Due to the top and bottom being rounded. After alot of use in your pocket the rubber on top and bottom loosens and sags. I bought the Otterbox the day it came out and overnighted it. I have yet to find a decent replacement.
In no way would i bash Otterbox on this one product. I have owned other cases for Iphone 3gs, Mytouch 4g and Nook Color. ALL cases were some of the best i have seen. Quality if usually above the rest. I think it is the design due to the large about of exposed rubber on top and bottom.

I was debating between this one and the ballistic and then ended up getting the ballistic. The seido is nice like the kickstand but it doesnt have all the openings on the back that the phone needs as the ballistic does and the seido is mostly all rubber it would catch lint and be hard to pull out of your pocket in a hurry. The ballistic also seems much more rugged I love the case lol.

Yes, it's a little pricey, but so is the phone if you break it and have to get a new one/repair it.
It's great quality period.

I'm using the sapphire blue regular Seidio and I love it. (http://www.seidioonline.com/htc-sensation-4g-active-case-sapphire-blue-p/csk3htsen-bl.htm)
It comes with silicone and plastic cover. Pretty easy to slip in and out of your pocket too.
I've had the Seidio HTC Sensation ACTIVE Combo with Kickstand (that's the holster and case) on my Sensation 4G since October of last year. Bottom line, once I got it, I didn't need to look any further.
I tried many kickstand covers and cases and general stands for my Sensation before, and none was as good overall. You can see this old thread where we discussed all of them.
The Seidio is pricey, but I now know it's well worth the expense. I'll always buy from Seidio going forward. You can get this cheaper off Ebay than direct from Seidio. See here, both the holster and case in a combo are selling for just under $40. But direct from Seidio, just the case alone cost $35. The combo cost $50 if you buy direct from Seidio.
I've learned 2 things:
Buy Seidio cases and holsters.
Don't buy Seidio cases and holsters "directly" from Seidio .
I originally bought the sapphire blue case only...and it is absolutely excellent.
I got it shipped off Ebay or Amazon (don't remember) for 26 or 28 bucks.
Girlfriend (same phone) liked it so much I got her a purple one, combo for 32 shipped (no kickstand, just a case and holster) and I quickly bogarted her holster...LOL.
The ONLY gripe I have is when you go to put it in the holster sometimes the upper clip wants to push the top of the rubber case back. You just learn to "open the jaw" of the holster clip to slide your phone in.
We have 19 of these devices at work. I bought a ton of Chinese ebay cheapies...and some people bought their own.
After they see my case and touch/feel how sturdy yet soft it is, they're sold.
It is nice, period. The hard plastic exoskeleton really makes the case, covers the corners...etc.
I'm using the Seidio Active without the kick stand, "they didn't have them when I got it in Sept last year".
It's an excellent case and isn't bulky at all, but like another poster stated the clip on the holster does tend to go under the rubber lip of the case. I've also just gotten use to lifting up the clip before inserting the phone.
Otherwise after 8 months of use the case still looks great, it's a great product.
I bought several cases and after being really dissappointed in build quality, non-existant hole-cutouts, etc. I coughed up for the Seidio.
It is absolutely awesome. As others have said, the look and feel are marvelous - and after dropping my phone a couple of times I can also vouch that it does it's 'day job' perfectly too.
an awesome case
I have this case without the kickstand for 7 months. While I realize having a kick stand is one of the main selling points for you, I can attest to the quality of this case. The phone is wrapped in a molded silicone (that doesn't get stuck in pockets) and has flexible plastic wrapping around that on the corners and side to take the brunt of the blows from drops. It is an awesome hybrid case that is not bulky at all. I honestly don't understand how people can pay good money for those humongous otter boxes that make your phone 3x the size. Boggles my mind. Me and my friends have gone through a LOT of cases. This is my first Seidio. I'm hooked.
I also have this case and it is awesome. It provides really good protection and the kickstand is the cherry on the cake. I am enjoying this case really much.
I bought it after being disappointed with about 3 other cases that I bought. This is my ultimate case.

Tired of Commuter, Any suggestions?

Ok so ive had the blue/black Otterbox commuter now for a few weeks and I did like it at first but now im just sick of it, makes the phone a little to thick for how often i use it and just has gotten on my nerves, anyone able to recommend something with about the same protection maybe a little bit more thin?
also, ill probably ship this one off to someone when i get a replacment
Felt the same way with my commuter. From what I've red its the thinnest one of that type of case. The tridents look cooler, but myself I just got an incipio feather shine and I love it. Provides more drop protection than you would think, but looks way cool
Same protection? Get the Incipio Silicrylic case, looks tons better than the Otter box.
If you want a sleeker case overall, get the Seidio Surface case, with kickstand.
Sent from my sexy white HTC One X on T-Mobile
yeah i been eyeballing the seido....hows the grip on it?, if the commuter had grip i could deal with the thickness
Pretty good, not a glossy finish and the kickstand doesn't add a weird bump like with the Seidio Active. Lmk if you want pics comparing the normal Surface with the Surface kickstand.

sure
Had a Best Buy gift card so I grabbed that platinum series case/holster combo and I like it. Pretty protective and slimmer than the Commuter for sure.
I used to use the Commuter on all my iPhones, but the one for the One X is just too hard to get on and off for me. I wanted a slimmer case that didn't leave the camera lens hanging out the back (and I didn't want to break the bank either). I found this one on eBay and it's fantastic. And only $7.95, too. The seller ships super fast, too (from California to Kentucky in 2 days).

Incipio NGP here. I like the softer feel and the decent protection around the edges. The included screen protector is rather lousy, but you can use the coupon to get XtremeGuard for next to nothing. You will have to cut it down a bit to work well with the ngp and not lift at the edges.
i havent gotten mine yet for the One X but i ordered the Barely There case by Case Logic, i had it for my Inspire 4g and another for my Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, cant wait to get mine for this phone, they are thing light and stay on, they arent going to protect from drops like the commuter but they will keep it from getting scratched to hell on the back.

Will not protect the lens cover at all. If you are worried about "scratching like hell" you might want something more substantial.
really cause the other two i have had were fine even the Inspire which had the lens that flared out like the HOX kinda sucks now ill look into another case maybe the incipio feather? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007ZT4UWI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 or this as from the pictures it looks like it helps with the lens.

I ordered both the feather and the ngp from Incipio. Sent the feather back to because the protection was too minimal. Love the ngp so far. Not too bulky not too flimsy. The provided screen protector sucks big time tho. Incipio has versions for both hox models make sure you get the right one. Order from Incipio direct, indirect same price

Graced with a sleek painted aluminum finish on a durable hard shell exterior and fitting both World and AT&T versions of the phone.....
I wonder how that works or fits?????

Have you noticed the the silicone on the silicryilc to be loose at all? The top and and bottom worry me because they lack the plastic coverage.

I am more worried about the side of the case being so flexible. Compared to my old HTC Sensation's otterbox case which was more rigid.
Apart from that, i like the case.
I dropped mine and cracked the screen, it was seriously the smallest drop ever for a phone and still broke. Most fragile phone I've ever had given how many other of my HTC's have been used like a football.
So once its fixed/replaced, I wont be taking a 2nd chance despite hating cases.
Thought about the Incipio feather Ultralight but based on the comments, sounds like it won't offer any decent protection. Might order the NGP Semi-Rigid Soft Shell Case instead. But from the photos, does the case sit over the buttons or are there cut outs?
What are the other options as far as minimal size but decent protection? I'll take my chances breaking it again before using some bulky ugly case!
HTC - NGP
Pretty sure there is only a single NGP that fits the international and AT&T version. The case covers the buttons but all are functional. I purchased the Nillkin Scub first which is very sleek but didn't offer a substantial lip around the screen. The NGP offers good protection without being bulky. Because it's designed for the international version the cutouts don't line up perfectly (microphone and speaker) but all the buttons and ports work fine. Had to make a small cut to get one of my power cords to fit.
