Hi there ... my question is for the people who have a clue in editing images .... tried searching here, also in google, but can`t find the answer I`m looking for.
Everyone that has tried to edit a manila file with a .png or .bmp inside has seen that some pictures have PINK background (boarders) that look transparent when installed on the phone. I will attach a picture as example of course ...
So when I try to edit such image using a photo software (for example Photoshop) and save the image after a change or two, I get that PINK to show in my image on the phone .... when it`s not edited the background is still PINK but it never shows up .... so this PINK color is some kind of transparent background that works in a different way than the normal transparent layer that I add to pictures in order to be transparent ....
The perfect example ... I install a SKIN for Resco Explorer ... the skin has a .skn file and 3 png files that are the icons that are used inside the software. All 3 files are with PINK boarders, so when I install them they show completely transparent on the phone ... when I edit them and remove the PINK at all from the image and make that same PINK transparent, the icons are not transparent any more but with WHITE background .... That happens ONLY ON these pictures that have that PINK background by default. If I take a normal image that has no PINK boarders and make it transparent it shows also transparent in my phone. The second try with the png files with the icons for Resco is by editing the file without removing the PINK background ... let`s say I change an icon and then when I save the image and put it in my phone ... I can see the pink behind the edited icon .... when I try to copy just the pink and make it a layer it shows PINK on my phone ....
So in less words ... is there a way to make my own PINK background to look transparent, like in the original files, and is there some kind of tutorial on how to do that .... cause it`s really different when you try to edit an image with that kind of background and a normal transparent background ... it just shows up differently in phone !
Hope people that have worked with photoshop know what I`m talking about.
Thanks for your time reading this whole thing and really hope that someone could help me ... thanks in advanced !
P.S. Uploading 2 images ... 1 is from the phcanImages.dll that has all Images from the Dialer screen , and the other is a png file with icons for resco explorer. Both have that PINK background and both show up differently when that pink is replaced with a normal transparent layer !
Well, a bmp picture won´t give you transparency options.
Attached, see your example as a png picture.
Don´t know about your settings in Photoshop...
And how did u manage to make it look like that .... and if I save that file as .png will I get the PINK background again ?
Ok ... so I tried to save the bmp as png ... the pink background was still there when I saved it as png .... I tried to make it transparent but I don`t know how , cause that is neither Raster or Layer ... it`s background and I cant get it transparent .... I tried another thing ... I made a transparent background ... added a layer and draw custom lines.. then saved the image as .bmp .... I got an image with white background instead of transparent .... how can I get that PINK background that the phone recognizes as transparent and save it as BMP file ???
Ok ... let me put it that way ... someone can really help if he can .... how to make a transparent background in a BMP file ?

This is not possible so far i know!
If you download the attached file ... you`ll see that there is a PINK background that doesn`t show in the phone ... so phone recognizes it as transparent .... I`m asking how can I do such background on a BMP file ......
Anybody
I actually noticed this while messing around with a dialer, it seemed that the pink areas were indeed transparant on the phone. I was able to copy the pink colour to make The answer/ignore slider transparent if i wanted to. No idea if you can create a new image and have tranceparency tho.
try to save it as gif on the PhotoShop and then try to change its extension to bmp, it may work that way. cheers
I`m sure that here are people that have edited tons of bmp files .... it`s absolutely impossible no one to know how can I make transparent parts on a bmp file .... renaming gif to bmp didn`t work !!!!!!

OMG, you can never do this!, contents on file is the same, you are ONLY changing the file extension. If you, for example, create a .wav file and then change it to .mp3 it doesn't convert to an MP3 file, it's only a WAV file with a xxxx.mp3 name, so, as content isn't mp3, you can't read it in a mp3-only player.
Now, with that in mind, an BMP file format (And JPG's by the way) don't have any way to establish transparency or semi-transparency (like alpha in PNG's format.). So many programs needing transparent pixels on BMP files have used along many years a especific RGB color (also called Mask color) that isn't used often in pictures, like a bright pink or a bright green, (pink being the most used). This way, a program reading this file detect pixels with this EXACT color and do their magic ignoring those pixels making them transparents.
This pink color is R:255, G:0, B:255 or #ff00ff in hex.
Green in turn is R:0, G:255, B:0 or #00ff00 in hex.
NOTE: NEVER use JPG format when working with this type of masking, as JPG compression adds artifacts and modifies colors slightly. You must use EXACTLY this color code for masking BMP files (you can't use for example R:254, G:0, B:255).
also dont know, sorry
+1 on post 12.
I did not know the exact color of pink (hex code) but when I worked with xdashutdown skins, the PNG's have pink background so I simply used the color picker and I have perfect transparencies every time. At least now I know the hex code for this pink. Thanks!

Thanks for your responce .... Tried everything I could , but it didn`t work out as I expected ... it still does show PINK on my phone ... don`t know why .... I use photoshop and the BMP I put in the .dll I`m trying to modify has the same hex color : 255 ; 0 ; 255 ... but still shows as pink.
Can you please try to modify the following and see if there is not a problem with the BMP itself. I`m puting the original image from the .dll and the way I would like to look (the Pink that I add must be transparent) as another image.
P.S.
Tried also to save the bmp as 16bit , 24bit and 32 bit BMP in Photoshop ... cause I read somewhere that the BMP must not be in 24bit format .... when I saved it as 16bit the PINK was saved as 248 ; 0 ; 248 .... then I dofied it again .
So I tried everything in every tutorial without luck

Ok I'll look
Update: Your pink color is ok, I think it must be the program (manila?) is not programmed to search transparency in that part of the image. If so, there is nothing you can do as far as I know, as you don't have the source code.

Cant be manila .... I`m editing phcanImages.dll ... it`s the file that has all images from the Dialer ... as I saw there were people that modified some images from the same .dll, I don`t think it`s possible some program to recognize just part of the .dll`s images color, not all the images.
So maybe I`m doing something wrong.
I really tried everything possible with the "magic color"... I know about it for a week now, it`s not new information ... so I tried really everything, read many tutorials, but it didn`t help.
Btw ... are you good at editing dll files with images ?

The only dll's i've edited was in Windows, with Resource Hacker. If you are using this, maybe I can help. I think you where editing manila, but my past response (post 16) remains the same. What program are you using to edit the dll?
Same .... resource hacker ... and yes ... phcanImages.dll is in /Windows folder .... I don`t think this has something to do with signing or unsigning also , cause I tried with both signed and manulay copied unsigned file and the result was same !!!

I'm viewing phcanImages.dll, what is the resource number you are editing, cause it seems my phone has a different dll and I can't find a similar image to the one you posted. Can you post the original/unmodified dll you have?

Hey Dudes, can someone please tell me, where are the Default Theme settings stored in the ROMs of our HTC Wizard (and probably the rest WM6's) ? I am making a new ROM and I want to change the Default theme of the Base ROM I am using.
Look in your SYS folder and its in a package named something like DPI_96 (sorry, don't have a kitchen near me and I don't remember the exact name). Anyway, in there you will find one (or more) files that start with stwater*.bmp (probably like stwater_320_240.bmp, stwater_240_320.bmp). Those are the backgrounds for the default theme (there could also be tdywater.bmp files too, which are used for the background of the start menu drop down). The tricky part is then finding the actual registry entries that set the font colors and such.
What I recommend doing is finding a theme you like now and pull the .tsk apart (.tsk are just a .cab, so any tool that can pull cabs apart can do them). You can then grab the registry entries out of that to then put in a .rgu file for your rom.
Hope that helps. I'm only dabbled with changing the theme, so there may be more elegant methods, but thats what I did with XM6...

That's the Base Hue not the bar color ...but it will change the bar color too if you modify that, as well as all the colors in the theme.

Agree with you bro..!
Hi all,
I have spent this afternoon searching for a way to edit and create a theme.
I know you will ask, and yes I have searched and still not sure what is needed to create and make themes for windows mobile 6.5.
Does it matter what rom you are using?
where can i find a default theme to start with?
are the themes in a dll file like windows, as this is what i have been searching for, this is what i'm use to and really feel lost.
Thanks for any help or even better is there a link for a guide?
Hi,
Just download a theme from this forum and modify the graphics inside it.
That's the way I learned it too.
While modifying you will start to learn how everything works.
Good luck!
Cheers,
EC
BTW: next time post in the Q&A section, this thread will be moved to it soon.
Mostly the Themes are .tsk format so the tsk can be installed if is made in CAB or the .tsk file can be copyed in windows the both ways will work.
Also to help you and to understannd how to make Themes.. depends on the Theme you want is not so Hard.. of course im talking about a basic Theme not to create a WP7 like theme lol
You will need only one TOOL but its not free the good news is that he have a 30 days free period and you have enought time to read and also to create many themes..
Download WinCeCABManager on your desktop pc then by your choice download ANY Theme you like.. the Wince can OPEN cab files also can open tsk files also can do alot more things.. so
For example if you downloat a TSK theme file you can open it with WinCe and see whats going on there..then you can edit it and do some theme by yourself is the Theme is cab file.. its the same you can Open the CAB with WinCe and extract all the components..
Normaly even if you download a CAB file theme.. in the CAB will be the tsk. file
The Themes can be the same for many devices and on the same time to be diferent this ALL depends from the Theme.. for example if you want to create a Theme that only will change the Softkey Bar Task Bar and Wallpaper.. this is just example and you make this theme with WVGA resolution the theme will work in every WVGA device... because the Bars and the wallpaper are just simple PNG images.. but if your theme will include some MANILA files for example ..... sliders...Clocks... everything in the UI is made with MANILA FILES so will not work for all device.. because 1st have diferent versions for example the Manila files in Sense 2.1 are diferent than sense 2.5 Mostly they are the same size but with diferent names.. so if you make full theme for WVGA device and the theme include some Manila tweaks for 2.1 Sense your theme will work in ALL WVGA devices who are with manila 2.1 Sense.. im just explaining you to understand how this work.
Its not dificult and you can start simple by editing the bars images wallpapers etc when you see how it work.. you can begin make other things..
If you know how to work well with Photoshop you will be able to make awesome Themes.. because the WHOLE visual Look on our devices is based on IMAGES also the Manila Files are Images... but not all ofcourse..
If you want to edit MANILA files.. you can download CFC GUI from XDA with this powerfull tool you can Extract the image from the Manila file.. you can edit the image how you like it.. and again with this tool you can make it again to be MANILA file from png..
REMEMBER one of the most importmantly things in all graphic files are the SIZE and location.. so if you have the default images will be easy for you to know what you are doing...
Thats all i try to explain you short ... hope to understand me a bit
Moved as not theme release.

So I plan on doing a whole theme for Gtrabs 6.5 pure rom for the Xperia.
Where can I get the manila file for this rom?
sorry for the silly question.

Is there just one file with all the images in it? like a deafult windows 6.5 theme?
Is there a place here to get the file/files?
Nope i will give you example what the size mean.. so some parts like i told you are only PNG image files for example the task bar and softkey bar in WM 6.5 are the same size in my case im using Blackstone WVGA device so 480x52 are the size of this PNGs for WVGA devices this mean i can put there whatever image i want i just need to make it this size of course.
Now you wonder OK but how the theme will know witch Images to use...
The TSK file when you open it with WinCe you will see is like a regs... and there you can associate for example you wrote in the TSK that for topbar to be used hackitstopbar.png then the image you do for the top bar must to be named with the same name ofcourse hackit and all is done.. when you copy this PNG to your windows and you choice the theme you want.. the theme will use this image that you want.
the TSK theme appear in Settings/Today in the theme list so you can create a TSK file named XDATheme.tsk this mean when you go to Settings/today there you will have a XDAtheme
Also is the same for everything in the TSK file you wrote everything you want.. to change and what kind of Wallpaper to be used i mean the names of this files.. they can have whatever name you want just need to be in png and the corect size.
About the Xperia i don`t know where you can get the files.. in the Xpira subforum you can ask someone to extract from the ROM the files you need and later you can see them with CFC GUI and edit them.
Also you can use Resco Explorer and to Extract the File from your ROM right now... the only one problem is that right now you don`t know witch fils you need.. then you need to read for example the file 21323c2.manila is responsible for the home screen CLOCK.. and etc etc when you know this info with files you need.. just find them with resco and copy to your SD card and later to your desktop now you will have files from where to start.
Its not importmantly do the Files are from Stock ROM or Cooked most importmantly is the Manila to be the same.
the Easy way to find them out is... download some theme that you like and that work on your device... for example the theme to include the clocks.. the bars whatever you need.. then when you sure this Theme work for you this mean your files are the same.. just download some costum theme Extract the Files and when you open them with CFC GUI you will see all images..you also can extract from this images a PNGs.. and this is the way you can mod them .. open the PNGs and make whatever changes you need and like... and when you are ready just replace them they to be manila again like i say you can do all that with CFC GUI
If i use Xperia i will tell you witch files you need but i use Blackstone... now in my case i use 2.1 Sense and i know almost every file i need to know so when i want to chnage something i just know witsh file simple to edit and all is done...
Its not One file.. with all images in it they are many files.. one for the clock itself another one for the backround of the clock another one for the clock numbers and etc etc etc
Simple example like i say if now i make a Theme WVGA with Sense 2.1 the theme will work in Touch HD, Rhodium, Topaz and etc etc all devices with the same UI if the theme is with 2.5 sense will work also in Leo.
The other trick i can tell you is this: go to Settings/Today there in the Themes you will have some with sure maybe the default one.. for example lets call it DefaultExpiria ok then in this case with sure you will have a file called DefaultXperia.tsk in your windows directory.. just go with Resco there and search for DefaultXperia.tsk file then copy and paste to your SD after this download to your desktop PC and when you open this TSK file with WinCe you will see almost everything all details this theme what kind of files use.. and how they are named...for example if the top bars are named Xdatopbar.png now you know the name just go again with Resco find that file and extract it.. when you open the png file on your desktop you will see exactly the size of this Image and now you know what file you need to do.. lol also if you don`t want to create a brand new TSK file..you can use the default one that is already in the ROM.. just make one png with the same size and rename it to have the same name like the default one Xdatopbar in this example ater you copy this file to windows.. your Top Bar will be with the image you want..
This is the easyest way to understand about your files.. the bad news are that the default themes are very simple i mean they can change some bars.. some wallpaper some other litle stuff but now Clock etc and this mean that when you open the default tsk you will be not able to see the clock files or all other you need.
But this is good begining to know how big must to be your bars.. and etc
Hi Tsalta. I have been following your examples above to try to create a new slider for my phone. I have all the file names correctly and resized everything to 128x128 and 256x256. I make it a system file and cab it up but when i install it it never show up. You can see the slider but not with the new icons that I placed in it. Any idea off the top of your head?
Yes the reasons can be two 1st what device you are using? there already have a slider creator so you can do whatever icons you want whit this creator no need to make all hand made also when you create the cab.. all fills must to be installed on %Windows% how to do that? just when the cab is open in WinCE double click and choice "Windows" then apply... do this for all files.. after you done then save the cab and install it in main memory if the filles are with corect names and they are installed on the WINDOWS directory will work for sure... at least if you do something wrong like diferent size icons or etc you will see this after the installation.. the reason WHY you can`t see the icons is 1st Diferent File Names.. not the filles you need or the Second can be if they are not installed in WINDOWS, give me the cab you did and i will tell you more
Hey Tsalta, i did point the file locations to the windows directory. I think that I made the right image size but could be wrong. I am using TP2 with Medium Hills rom flashed on it. I have attached two files for you. One has the cab file and the other is the images that I used. Thanks for your help on this.

Men give me the LINK for that ROM because like i say im Blackstone user and i dont have from where to know what is this Medium Hills ROM when i ask about the ROM i ask about the BUILD and the MANILA version of the ROM u are using i don`t care about the Name of the ROM i want to see the ROM details to know what im doing.
Thanks.
I need to KNOW Witch BUILD of the ROM exactly because there have diferent Builds...
NOW I no wonder why Nothing Heppand.. Your Images are totaly Diferent the Size and Location like i say is the Most importmantly In Manila when you want to create a Theme your image files are totaly DIferent you never will have this Icons if you do them like that here i made just example to understand clear what mean Exactly the same SIZE and LOCATION
The Original file is the 1st One so the Whole file is 128x128 But see that the Calendar image is not on the Whole Image and is Smaller than 128 x128 the Second is the Example i did.. now you can see that the Whole PNG image is again 128x128 but the Custum Icon is on the same Place where was the Original Calendar Icon.. This is how must to be for everything not only for the Slider for the Clock for everything this is MOST Importmantly because if the Image is not on the same POSITION this just will not work. The Last file is your Image file that you send me.. so do u see any diference betwen them? your File is just a PNG image 128x128 and the Icon is in the full image is not Located on this specific Place that need to be also your Icon is 2 times bigger than the default one. If you do all the Icons like im telling you the Slider will work.
some of the png's i open in photoshop have a black background/black pixely border. i have took a ss of one of the media control images as an example and it's attached below.
if anyone knows why this is happening could you please give me an idea? It's not all just a few here and there.

because i believe you are looking at .9.png's which use black borders as a guide for stretching if the file is something.9.png then that is your answer
hmm.. i haven't seem to have a problem editing the .9 PNG's, i've tried searching this forum and a few other forums and haven't found that anyone has asked this.. that particular png file name is "ic_media_play". i've also had the same problem when opening the wifi, 3g, some of the keyboard buttons, the "spinner_black_16" image. i've tried opening them in firefox then copying image, dragging them directing into photoshop and a few other things. sorry if this is a newb question...

well ic_media_play isnt a .9.png so if it has a black outline its just for the way it looks the wifi, 3g, and spinner_black_16 images you shouldnt have a problem with since they arent .9.png's either, most of the keyboard images are tho and will need to be decompiled and recompiled to get them to work correctly. im working on a theme right now and theres no easy way to edit them, oh also if you're using something like 7zip to open up the apk that might be your problem i edit most of mine in Linux so i dont remember if you can open them in Photoshop without decompiling but the best way is to decompile, edit, then recompile and there are guides out there that describe how to better than i could but search for apktool or apkmanager

first i'd like to thank you for your response. what i am doing is unzipping the contents from framework-res with winrar. (i was planning on just replacing the unzipped folders with the existing folders that are in framework-res, just overwriting them.) then i just pulled the images from the unzipped folder, res -> drawable-hdpi, into photoshop... in the unzipped folder thumbnail image, these images seem to look okay, no border/stroke around the edges, no black bg etc. but in photoshop they seem to have locked layers named "index" which i just change the mode to RGB to make the layer editable. i'm not sure what i'm doing right, i'm sure it's something i'm not doing right, i just can't figure it out - maybe i'll try a different program to unzip the folder?
i've attached a ss of the folder with the thumbnail images looking okay.
(p.s. this theme is for my gf)
I've been working on a theme also, though not for the DX... I had to completely remake the PNG's in question. I'm on OSX using Photoshop and it does the same thing. First start with an indexed color version then once you get it done on a block level convert it to an RGB 8-bit image and smooth the image with a very mild gaussian blur or lens blur... personally I use gaussian.
Here's a screenshot of mine in action... I made the "empty" signal bars hollow with a neon outline..
You'll want to use 7-zip, not sure about the black stroke on the images, sounds like a .9 PNG issue. I don't use Photoshop personally, I use Fireworks. It could be Photoshop putting the stroke on the images...If you have access to Fireworks, trying using that instead.

winRAR is fine too you can open a zip file without having to unzip the entire contents, personally i use linux/Ubuntu which has an awesome photoshop like picture editor G.I.M.P. idk if you can download it or not for windows but you could check it out

lol sure its for HER lol you can use 7zip/winRAR either one but use it to extract the drawable res folder out and pull them into photoshop, edit the ones you want and put them back in the one already zipped up, but if you do it that way stay away from .9.png's

hahaha yea i was trying on that pink to see how it looked on me . I'm going to try to dl GIMP along with fireworks to see how they turn out and yea i've read about those .9.png's on other threads about how they weren't changing over in certain apps. hopefully i won't run into this problem but if i do then its back to the pros on xda for advice. lol
Update - Editing the PNG's in fireworks, works like a charm, a lot smoother. Thanks everyone for your useful and helpful information
You should be able to option +2x click the index layer and then cmd + J in PS to mod it without redrawing it.

Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App
i did a search for it
i also a post that says change
framework-res.apk\res\drawable\progress_horizontal.xml
, but after reboot , still shows orange...
that color shows when you slide to the top or bottom
and other one when push it
like attached pictures
thanks in advance
Try this:
http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?894-MOD-Overscroll-Glow-Colors-(2.3.3-2.3.4)
Basically you need 2 .png files with the color you want, and a custom XML to get them working. That topic features some pre-built colors for you, but you could easily make your own if you want. But that's a good base to start

how to use ? replace what?
i download file and read that post , didn't find any instructions....
Obviously you need to put this in the framework-res.apk, found in /system/framework/.
I suggest you copy the framework-res.apk to you computer, open it with an Archive Manager and then copy the content of one of the colours.zip files into it. Then, copy the modified framework-res.apk back to /system/framework/.
Reboot and see if that worked.

okay , one more stupid question , files in .apk are .png, and these 2 files are ".psd" , so , how am i supposed to make them png?
Not a stupid question at all.
You have probably download the source files from that topic. These are 2 .psd files which are Photoshop format, making them highly customizable. In Photoshop (or GIMP) you can edit the .psd files and save them as .png files.
HOWEVER,
That topic has a small box that says "Click to expand choices of colors. (click to expand)".
If you expand it, you'll see many available colors right there (all packed in .zip files), with the .png files already made for you. These are the files that you have to put in in the framework-res.apk.
Let me know if you have any more questions,
Greetz
yes , thanks , i think i got idea how to do this althought i have not tried it yet because i´m outside of home right now
but , still , these files are for my first and second attached picture , how am i supposed to do to change the third picture´s orange color ?
That's actually a lot more difficult, it involves changing the attributes of the listView element. Read up on some theming articles and try to do it yourself. It will take some time but you'll be happy once you figure it out.

Gosh... it does need some time , lots time , all in english , kinda make me nuts
it's gonna take me double even triple times to read a non mother-language article
-_____________- !!!
anyway
thank you very much for help ^^
Hahaha you're welcome.
You know you can also just apply themes and enjoy the merits of other people's theming work ?
Greetz
yeah ... well
but it would make me feel less feeling of fulfillment XD
i had flashed MIUI dozens times , it looks great but still , let's just call it battery killer ... as matter of fack , just yesterday and today , i have flashed MIUI and stock at least 10 times ... it's kinda like i have "Rom-Flash obsession" or what ...XD
at the end , i decided to flash stock and wait for ICS ...
i've replaced the icons of status bar , such as WIFI, Signal , 3G icon , power level ...etc
this **** orange is last thing i have to do
by the way , every you post , types "greetz" in last line ... what's that?
Greetz is short for 'greetings'. It's become a reflex after years of forums usage and is my way to salute you and end my post
Good luck getting rid of the orange, let us know if you succeeded!
Greetz
hehe , i have done first problem , now that's harder part
this part is much harder ... i decided leave it with that ...
cause i don't understand , it shows

@color/bright_foreground_dark

@color/background_dark

0.6

0.5

i will add his name to my rom credits
you've mastered jpg transparency, omg, where have u been hiding,i have a few 100 jpeg icons i'd love to make transparent, please share your secret
Instead of jpg transparency, is it possible to modify source to read png instead of jpg?
LâTêS†↭ⓛⓘⓝⓚⓢ™CM10 HTC A310E.
If I haven't given you link, it's above. Just click it
Photoshop gives me an error, an unknown or invalid jpeg marker was found while opening. I looked up the error and it means that the file, though saved as a jpeg image, isnt really a jpeg. its extenstion has been changed. i renamed it to png and it worked fine. Tiff didnt work either. So its just a png renamed as jpeg. Theoretically, true jpeg images cannot have transparency
yes i already tested ur idea
but not working
but it works fine with sense 4 lockscreen jpg

Guys, stop trying, transparency is supported in PNG & GIF only.
yes i know
but renaming method works
just make a background transparent in png and then rename image to jpg
Finally
after 18 months of trying, with abit of help, i've finally learned how to make transparent jpeg icons and its without photoshop or gimp

Open New file in photoshop, dimensions same as pic you wanna edit, drag pic from desktop to it! Now in the right side select the right layer and change opacity !
This is how I do it, don't know if works on jpg
Sent.....just sent
anyway thanks
but it not works with jpg
my renaming method works
just convert image to png, edit it and add transparent background and save it
then rename it to jpg
here's the trick
you will NEVER get transparent jpeg icons in photoshop or gimp, trust me, I've tried for 18 months, here's what I was shown..........
if using a windows pc, go to folder options, make it look like the picture I've uploaded then every icon will have its type on the end such as .png, all you have to do is rename it to jpg, then choose yes when menu appears and viola, you have transparent jpeg icons, I to couldn't believe how simple it was, I've made 450 transparent jpg icons in the last 2 days for my mods

Stop that nonsense now.
Read jpg-format definition (google it). It does not include any transparency channel. There is no such thing as a transparent jpg.
How funny is the idea to rename a png to jpg? If you rename Mark Zuckerberg to Pamela Anderson, he will not become a woman! A PNG stays a PNG no matter how you name it.
Additionally that thread is Off Topic.
