[Updated 12/06/2010] Semi-transparent Digital (flip) 'Glass' Clocks - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

[Edit] Ever since I made these cabs, the shape of the number '1' has been annoying me! So I decided to make a different shaped number '1' and to use it instead. Now that I have done so, I feel obliged to offer this as an alternative here, which I am now doing. The 'old style 1' cabs are now to be found in post #4. Check out the screenshots for the (very minor) difference...

Following on from my earlier thread for Semi-transparent Digital (flip) Clock 'Mini-themes' - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6572219#post6572219 ...
These cabs will install only the digital (flip) clocks and make the rest of the 'furniture' on the Homepage completely transparent.
The clocks themselves are around 50% transparent.
You can install each 'glass' clock as usual using the cab files attached in the next posts. Uninstalling is done, as usual, via Settings/Remove Programs. If anything in the previous two sentences doesn't make sense to you, you probably should not install these cabs...!
The 'glass' clocks work on Manila 2.5.1920 because that is what I have on my HD2. I think they should also work on 1921 (but I cannot guarantee it) and I haven't got a clue about other versions. They might also work on CHT as my previous clocks have, apparently...
The original wallpapers are not mine. But they are available on this forum from the usual suspects. I cannot remember who posted which wallpaper, so credit goes to all of them...
Glass icons, slider etc. are from Dinik (with some minor 'tweaks' from me).
Due to the totally underwhelming response to my previous digital clock releases, these semi-transparent 'glass' clocks will be my last...
When you take the trouble to create over twenty clock cabs and receive 0 (yes, zero!) replies or comments, it is pretty de-motivating I can tell you...
Enjoy... (or not, as you please...)

Some more colours...

Yet more colours...

OK... These are the 'old style' clocks with the slightly different shaped digit '1', I refer to above.
I have zipped them all up into one .zip file to save space.
Check out the attached screenshots to see if you like this '1' better than those above...

Actually, it's the other way around as I generally start with a wallpaper I like and try to make a clock to go with it.
But either way, thanks for the positive feedback...!

Good work dude!

how do you make these clocks? i was looking for digital ones, but just white or black...plus a clean simple font (like the one used in wp7?)

Here's a sort of 'tutorial' I posted once on another thread. Like all the clocks I have posted, it will definitely work for Sense 2.5.1920 and probably for a few other versions as well. But I only know for sure that it will work for 1920..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The easiest way to go about creating a new digital clock is:
1. Take somebody else's clock cab (I've attached one of mine to this post)
2. Unzip it (Winzip will do it) to get the original files
3. Re-name the 'working' files back to their original 'manila names' (if you look inside the _setup.xml file, you can see the both the manila filename and the working filename e.g.
<characteristic type="1435ccbf_manila" translation="install">
<characteristic type="Extract">
<parm name="Source" value="FILE0001.001" />
means the file named FILE0001.001 should be re-named to 1435ccbf_manila etc.
4. Once you have extracted and re-named all the manila files, you can use CFC_GUI to extract the PNG images for my clock to use as a guideline to making your own
5. Make your own PNG images
6. Use CFC_GUI again to insert your new images into the manila files
7. Use a .cab creation tool of your choice to insert all the manila files into one .cab file
Note: My cab consists of 8 manila files:
4 files for the 4 sections of the clock (2 up and 2 down)
1 background for the clock (see attached screenshot)
1 file each for AM and PM
1 file with the numerals (77e0069a_manila)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is this last file (77e0069a_manila) that you are after as it contains the clock digits. You need to create a new version of the .png file it contains using the font that you want (wp7?)
What...? Did you think it would be easy...? ;-)

Hey Man i use one of yours

I have considered that, Malhznoi. But there are currently 137 different cab files! At 8 attachments per post, that's 17 posts, just for the cabs - more if I include some screenshots to show people what they are getting. So probably more like 20+ posts.
I don't know if people would really be interested in scrolling through all of those posts.
I did ask Mark (Mskip) a few weeks ago whether he would like to add my clocks to his 'sticky', but he never replied and never added them. So I guess he didn't find them that interesting...
Thanks for the suggestion though. I may re-consider it at a later date.

Ever since I made these cabs, the shape of the number '1' has been annoying me! So I decided to make a different shaped number '1' and to use it instead. Sorry. Haven't tried them myself (I really should get round to installing CHT!).
But I did receive a couple of comments on another thread saying that my clocks do work on the original release of CHT.
All I can suggest is that you try one out and see what it looks like. It's easy to un-install and won't 'break' anything!
Let me know how you get on...

That would be the same thing with "glass clock" Dinik a choice of color with "glass clock"

[SKN] Taskbar Art (23/04) Updated!(WM6.5 ready!)

The last couple of days I have been busy creating a new taskbar theme, but that's not all. Since I'm not the first and hopefully not the last to do this, I created a .psd file so that you may all edit these icons yourself. I have created a basic theme, but I hope more will grow eventually.Don't worry I have created a .cab for those who are not interested in creating icons. The goal of this thread is not modifying the taskbar per se, but more about creating theme's using the photoshop source file as a basis. I hope others will post their modified or self-created source files as well. This is why the thread called taskbar art.
Since There is an excellent thread about modifying the taskbar (two actually) already, I'm not going to explain it all over again, just check it here.
Do read the other thread!!
About the cab file: Important, you do have to install the sdkcerts.cab posted below, otherwise my cab will mess up your system. Also install on your divice not on a storage card. For now the cab I made uses the shellres.192.dll taken from the ROMeOS ROM, which means the icons in the setting menu will be changed as well. Download the 12aon_Taskbar_Art V2.cab (XDA still won't let me upload the cab) and mirror. SCREEN SHOT:
Ok for those that like my new battery a lot I made an updated cab that contains these battery icons as well as the other ones. This is no update cab, it contains all the icons. And I name it: Taskbar Art V2.5
About the photoshop source file: I created all icons needed for a full taskbar makeover. I don't use the E, Ev and 1x Icons so they are not in my .cab but they are in the .psd file. It might miss a couple of small things, those either will be added by me or by you. The source file is 128x128 which can easily be resized to 32x32 needed for the taskbar icons. photoshop doesn't natively support icon creation, but a very good plugin can be downloaded here. The rest of the tools needed can be found in the other taskbar thread.
Everyone who created a theme or a (modified) source will get linked to from the first posts. I will not answer question about getting along with photoshop. Google is your friend. I simply don't have the time or the patience, I hope you'll understand.
For those that would like to play with the .dll files, try MSCEInf. You can use this to open any cab and extract the files that are in it.
I hope I can encourage you to play with it a bit, and am looking forward to your creativity. Love, respect and honesty 12

It makes the font size in my volume screen to be alot more big.
What can we do about it?
Besides that, the look is amazing. Im really happy with the change.
Its hard to find a total makeover in the other threads.
though i think it might be nice to have the precentage on the battery, since its so small

it will be a must keep for my diamond.
thanks for your hard work doing this.
Hi there, are there alternative URL for download? The current one is not working for me... Thanks much.

I think it could fit well on your skin and make it even pretier if you add the ok/x images uploaded in the other post of the taskbar editing

Others have reported issues with that, I remember. Would you mind posting a screenshot, it helps me think. I think the problem is in the HTCVolumeControl.dll you could deleting/renaming mine, restart and edit the one in your rom with my icons. 12

First, here's the link for the ok/x buttons i told you..it still needs a little graphical changes to fit your taskbar makeover, but its surely a nice start.
about the volume, I dont have printscreen software installed, so here's a picture i found, at one of the 60 pages I just paged, for the first link =)

I guess they are located in the shellres.192.dll then? I really think the only option is to edit the HTCvolumeControl fom your rom. I'm short on time right now, so you can edit them yourself or upload the HTCVolumeControl and wait. 12
Ow and btw you link was invalid, but I managed to resurrect it (new link)
But how could I mange to get my original file back?
Its already overwritten by yours.

Just delete/rename the HTCVolumeControl.dll (to HTCVolumeControl2.dll for example). Then restart your device (the one from your ROM will be restored).

[Updated 12/06/2010] Semi-transparent Digital (flip) Clocks 'Mini-themes'

Due to the totally underwhelming response to my previous digital clock releases, these semi-transparent mini-themes (or more precisely, the solo clocks to go with them (which will be a separate thread) will be my last...
When you take the trouble to create over twenty clock cabs and receive 0 (yes, zero!) replies or comments, it is pretty de-motivating I can tell you...
The attached cabs will create semi-transparent 'glass' mini-themes on your homepage. The transparency is around 50%.
I call them 'mini-themes' as they only change the clock digits (no background) and the background 'furniture' for location, weather, calendar etc. and the date/time background you see when you scroll down.
Anyway, check out the screenshots and make up your own minds what to call them.
You can install each clock as usual using the cab files attached in the next posts. Uninstalling is done, as usual, via Settings/Remove Programs. If anything in the previous two sentences doesn't make sense to you, you probably should not install these cabs...!

Hey these look great!
Sorry to hear the rest of your works received such little response. If I may ask? How do you get all the top and bottom bars truely transparent? It looks super nice! I'd like to have my background to cover the complete screen. With one of your clocks... a very cool combo indeed!

Thanks for the feedback.
To get this look of 'full transparency', you need something called HDWall (there are references to it all over the place, so it should be easy to find). Note: You will also need something called 'Cookie's HQWallpaperPatch'. There are different versions for different versions of Manilla. Once you've found HDWall, you should also find a link to the patches...
Hope this helps...

Actually, I made these clocks and 'mini-themes' originally for myself. I just posted them on this forum for others to use, if they like them.
I don't mind if people don't want to use my clocks. It just would have been nice to get a bit more feedback (even the not so positive kind...).
Maybe I'll try something new later once I've 'upgraded' my ROM (and maybe installed CHT...)
Thats so sick!! i like it!! a very clean metro style.. when i get bored with mine, i'll give this a try.. just not in purple pink. hehe you're using dinik icons. good choice!!

[mod][CHTWidget]Background Set[FIX UPDATED]

Yes i know backgrounds are not fancy and everybody likes transparency , but it may be useful to some of you to have a configurable background as shown in this picture:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
INSTALLATION:
1.- Search in windows directory & copy in your SD the file 7c60907d_manila. It is very important to have a back-up of this file if something goes wrong.
2.- Download Poy6BG_Home.mode9.rar and copy one file 7c60907d_manila to windows folder of your device, accept overwrite and restart sense. Which 7c60907d_manila file? inside the zip is 3 file 7c60907d_manila (home.mode9) This file had to be modified to get Poy6BG behind any other widget (I will explain later), I have upload 3 modified versions (original, no line in flip clock, no line in flip clock + colon) you choose your favorite. All inlcudes fix for 20 widgets working at the same time. If you have other different home.mode9 (fix for more than 20 widgets, etc) i will explain later the small changes i did, so you can try yourself or post it here and i will try to do it.
3.- Get free slot0 for Poy6BG. Look in the registry HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHT.WidgetAddons.Slot0 and uninstall the widget actually installed there (you can install it later in other slot). It is important that Poy6BG be installed in Slot0, so it will be behind any other widget.
4.- Install Poy6BG.cab, activate it in edit mode>add new element>Poy6BG. This widget comes in 3 widths: full screen, half screen and personal width (to be set in the registry HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHT.Poy6BG.Width); configurable opacity from 100% to 25% each; is resizable in height (up&down); and pinneable.
5.- It comes only in black color, if you wish to use another colors you have to edit the file 1E0E70D5_manila
Kitchen:
Download the full widget kitchen from here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10718996/Poyensa Public Cab/Poy6BG/Poy6BG.rar
You can edit, modify and change anything in the widget. Just be sure to follow Co0kie instructions.
KNOWN ISSUES:
I have tried a lot but I couldn't get Poy6BG behind the co0kie-music player, the co0kie-textclock (date-clock-alarm), the notification icons and the page indicator. The rest of the widgets i have tried are over the background (quick & free links, clocks, weather, email, sms, etc). Feedback is much appreciated.
I also have some problems of overlaping if there is an empty slot in the middle (to have widgets in slots 7 & 9 but not in slot8)
Thanks to Dunc001 for his greats ideas and tests. And of course to co0kie monster for the Co0kie Home Tab 2.0.0
Enjoy this small present for the Three Kings I wish a happy 2011 full of widgets and plenty of nice themes
UPDATE uploaded CHTwPoy6BG_v2.cab full config, needs JMLMenuSense for menu settings.
FIX uploaded CHTwPoy6BG_v3.cab use any texture in PNG format, located in SD or device, as basckground.
home.mode9 modification
I was trying to understand why some widgets are shown over others. I starting point was this thread of rat_2665 in which he makes a great explanation about the relation between the order of elements in mode9 files and the way the objects are displayed in the screen.
So I try to follow this rule and modify the file home.mode9, which set all the elements to be shown in the home screen. The idea is simple: put at the begining of the file the lines related to slot0 and force Poy6BG to be installed in slot0
The modification in home.mode9 consist in find every component where is defined Slot0 and bring it up to to begining of the file.Then force the widget to be installed in slot 0. Aditionally I have also done this modification in the special Slot DevMode. I tested and it (partially) works for me, so I share this experience.
EDIT: the screenshot shoud say ... tip: keep pressed "shift" (arrow up) and cursor up or down, you can move the objects in the tree ....
Not many changes were done. The changes are inside <LibraryManager> lines 5AAF567A9 = value='CHTwidgetDev.mode9' & 5AAF567A9 = value='CHTwidgetSlot0.mode9'
And also inside <Library> bringing up all the <Character>type = 'ComponentClipCharacter' where Slot0 & DevSlot is contained
Thats the reason of many differents 7c60907d_manila (home.mode9 file) I have made this modifications in some files i have but may be many others files 7c60907d_manila that has to be modified in this way to get Poy6BG working correctly on them.
Anyway the investigation is not finished beacuse some widgets as co0kie music player, co0kie textclock (date-clock-alarm), notification icons, page indicator and CHTS icons are always behind Poy6BG, so there is something to discover yet Please post your feedback, if possible include a list of installed widgets and asigned slot in HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\CHT.AddonWidgets.SlotXX

Hi Poyensa,
Just to say once again thank you very much for sharing all your great work.
A wonderful 2011 to you and yours!
Wow, if this works, you are a ****in genius
I am going to try this tomorrow and give you some feedback ^^
Poy, you are indeed a genius Had a moment on first use where the clock appeared behind the background, but once I changed home levels and back it was all as it should be.
Great work again
blank widget XD LOVE it
but the background always in front of all widget @[email protected]"
Well done, you are amazing.

Be sure to follow this steps:
1.- Safe copy of actual 7c60907d_manila
2.- Copy new 7c60907d_manila in windows folder, accept overwrite and restart sense
3.- Get free slot0 by uninstalling the existing widget there
4.- Install Poy6BG (be sure it has been installed in slot0)
5.- Be sure to have no jumps (slots free) in the middle of the registry HKCU\Software\Manila\CHT.AddonWidgets.SlotXX (every slot should have a widget)
With this rules is working in my HD2 manila 2.5.2016. I have test with a lot of widgets (but not all!) In case you still having problems post a list of widgets including in which slots are they installed.

Go to edit mode, keep pressed the widget to open the widget menu and select pinned. May I can do another widget Poy6BGbis then we can have 2 BG in the same screen. But then it has to be modified the order of slot1 in home.mode9 file

I only want to know what is this widget?
Thank you
Not much, just a free background to put where you like in the home screen, behind other widgets. Needs CHT2.0 to work.
poyensa Thanks for your kind reply
You really is a genius
I will continue to focus on all of your thread
Thanks Poyensa for sharing your genius with us all yet again! All of your widgets imo are simply amazing! I noticed you posted "It comes only in black color", so here's my small contribution.. I edited the 1E0E70D5_manila file to add different colors for others to use with different themes. I made them in blue, gray, green, red, and white. If there are any other colors anyone would like I'd be happy to edit it for you. Thanks again for sharing this with us poyensa!
In order for these to work you must have Poyensa CHTW_Poy6BG installed first. To get the desired color simply copy the 1E0E70D5_manila, from the zip, to your windows folder overwriting the original. Also contained in each zip is a png(preview) of the color
I have been testing this widget now, for a couple of days, and it really looks amazing^^
But I do have one issue, that I cant seem to get rid of. Everytime I restart my device, or sense, the widget shrinks to its original size before I transformed it in height. It is installed exactly as you told me, I checked all of it. Reinstallation didnt do anything.
thanks for the feedback Nordpol, i have also noticed that, and the change on height in all levels when it is changed in one. I will look on that deeper.

I ve tried to fix the small problems. Actualized the cab & the kitchen in post#1

{UPDATED AGAIN}CHTv2, CHTSv2.2+Loco, GTX Icons, and Wallpapers.

Hi guys,
Like most of the other tweakers and flashers around in these threads I finally settled on a look for my phone. Well at least for the next month....
Also like most I find that there is something missing from what I want. So instead of moaning and whining about in every thread I could find, I thought it was about time to put something back to the community.
Based on the GTX Icons from NRG's Rom (cause that's what I am using) and the cool icons from collosus_r (cuase that's what the ROM uses) I have filled in a small gap.

Cabs available at the end of the post.
Or you could check out my CHTSLoco Skin in Post #12
Hope at least some of you like them and find them usful in the completion of your GTX look and feel.

Maybe by the time you get tired of the "actual" look, CHTS will be able to do the whole theme switch simply by switching from one theme to another on SD card
Keep it up and I´ll be keeping an eye (or both) on you thread. Congratulations
it will be superb house. CHTS for that I am looking forward to the day.
Thank-you for you words of encouragement. Will be working at home tomorrow or Sunday, can't remember what day it is I'm so tired. I will sort the white edges and up load somemore icons.

Yep Finally got into it, CHTScheduler and CHTLoco.
Lovin' both these fantastic Apps, but what's missing you ask.

Grabed a few glyphs from my store and away we go. Have a look through them see what you think. I will as always take requests for any others you my have in mind. Think I'll do a frameless version next with Transparent Backgrounds, any votes on this?
This type of thing
Anyways here's the new skin for you, what do make of it
The cabs are attached at the bottom of the post.
Additional Icons Pack 1
Additional Icons Pack 2
- install .cab for CHTSLoco
- start CHTSLoco do some initializations
- Exit it
- install new .cab for Quicklinks: CHTS_Links_0216.cab
- Soft-Reset (automatically demanded by system)
- Install CHTSLoco_FGT_Skin
- Soft-Reset
- Enjoy!!!
As usual: I don't undertake any responsibility for any harm to your software or hardware - CHTSLoco_FGT_Skin is provided as is. I wouldn't know what can happen with every install and configuration, but almost everyone writes this sentence in any way.

Updates and fixed files
Here is the fixed file for chtsloco_work. sorry about that error.
Forgot to export as so the file still had layers in it, at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
Grab it from the attachments and save into \windows.
Added 9 18 other icons to the set, this probably will grow a little more as time and Loco goes by. Grab the AddonIcons .cab
You can grab a fresh install from Post #12. Just remember the usual drill
- switch off sense
- uninstall V.1
- reset
- install new cab
- reset
- enjoy the wonderful FGT experience.
All the best. Billy

dreamTeam SimClock Skins Thread - Post Your Own

Hi Guys,
because of many PMs of how to mod the SimClock Widget even more than through the Menu, I opened this Thread to tell you how to change stuff, the name and the dimensions of the images and some other stuff.
Also I would very much like to see the costumizations you come up with
OK. We tried to make the SimClock as easy to costumize as possible. So we didnt work that much with manila files, but rather png image files:
There are now 47 files that can be edited.
I now will make a list with the name of the files and what they are used for. I have also included all the standard Icons in a .rar file at the end of this post.
Toggle Switches:
SimClock_BT_Off
SimClock_BT_On
SimClock_Data_Off
SimClock_Data_On
SimClock_FlightMode_Off
SimClock_FlightMode_On
SimClock_Phone_Off
SimClock_Phone_On
SimClock_Wifi_Off
SimClock_Wifi_On
SimClock_Flashlight
SimClock_Silent
SimClock_Vibrate
SimClock_Normal
There are always 2 pictures for each toggle switch. Everyone with the dimensions of 128x128 pixels and a png file. One will be displayed when the Switch state is off and the other one will be displayed when the switch is on. Using 2 images for each switch you can easily apply stunning effects. The last three Switches are for the phones profile. One of them will be displayed depending on your current profile
The Quick Link Icons:
SimClock_Alarm
SimClock_Clock
SimClock_Contacts
SimClock_Calendar
SimClock_Tasks
SimClock_Explorer
These are the Icon names for the 6 Quicklink Panel Icons. Everyone with the dimensions of 128x128 pixels and a png file.
The small Icons:
SimClock_Settings
SimClock_SmallAlarm
SimClock_SmallBattery
SimClock_SmallCharging
Those are the small Icons for the settings menu, then the small Alarm Icon beeing displayed, when you have an Alarm set, the text Battery Icon and the charging Icon for the text Battery. Everyone with the dimensions of 64x64 pixels and a png file.
Now the Circle Battery Icons:
SimClockCB_5
SimClockCB_10
SimClockCB_15
.
.
.
.
SimClockCB_95
SimClockCB_100
SimClockCB_FullyCharged
These are the files you can edit to change the Circle Battery integrated within the SimClock. Everyone with the dimensions of 128x128 pixels and a png file.
Now the last thing you can edit are the Panels. We are currently working on a little improvement concerning the Panels so this will be updated in a few hours
What I state out now will not be right for the v2 SimClock. Plz be patient for the next few hours and I will update this part
Ok thats for the image files. I have uploaded the original PSDs for the SimClock v2 so if you are using Photoshop or a similar program that can open PSDs, then you can directly overwork our files
If you have the images ready, just copy them into your windows directory and you are done
It would be nice, if you could post Cabs so that everyone can easily enjoy your costumizations
I hope you guys can fill this thread with many good costumizations

Just use cab2oem and you can easily take the cab apart by dragging it on top of cab2oem.exe. A directory with the same name as the cab will be created and all contents will be in that directory (along with 3 or 4 extra files for cooking that you won't need).
edit - guess I was too slow zipping it up , but at least now you'll know how to do it in the future.
