Remove Homescreen Clock - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

I apologize for my noobness, but I've browsed the forum with no answer nor cab, so I turn to you guys in hope of helping me out, I just want the thing gone, takes up to much room and I really don't need it...
Thanks

Search for "Cookiemonsters Home Tab". One of the benefits of this great mod is the function you are asking for: You can actually completely remove the clock from the home tab.
A simple solution would be to just swipe the clock away, this leaves just a basic digital clock.

Another solution is to install "antonio no clock".

The easiest way I know of to remove things from the homescreen is by Cookies Home Tabs and CHTEditor. If you use those, pressing Menu at the bottom and selecting Edit Home Layout will allow you to remove whatever you wish by simply a press & hold.

Need some assistance....PLEASE!!!!!

To all the guru's here, how can I get a home icon on the top bar. This way I can tap on it and go to the today screen. I know about wisbar, but don't want to use it for personal reasons. I know I can create a shortcut for a key using quickmenu and a gester using wktask but I just want a simple home icon (like wisbar or WA) in the top bar. Anyone have any ideas please?
Well, i don't know about the home icon, but maybe you'll find vjTodayButton useful:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=243235&highlight=todaybutton
You map it to a hardware button. Now, when you press (and hold) this button, you see the Today screen. When you release it, you are returned to the app you were previously in - IMO much more useful than anything that takes you to the home screen aln leaves you there...
Not quite what I need. If the icon is in the today bar, then it is available in any program I run. This allows me to switch to the today screen with only on tap. When I am finished then I can click on the wktask name/icon header to get back to where I was. I know I'm being a little ridiculous with this, but for speed and ease, this is the best option for me.
I know someone has to have an idea. This forum is to large and great for only one person to try and help out.
Well, maybe try editing your first post and use a bit more descriptive topic subject.
Messages titled with some nondescriptive name like "Need some assistance...", "help needed", "can i do this?", etc... often get ignored... It's really hard to check every single such message to often find out that they concern something you have no idea about.
But something like "How to put a shortcut in the top menubar" might just catch the eye of someone who actually knows the answer...
Just as the point 2 of the rules says:

While you're at it, take your time to read trough them - they're not here because the admin was bored and decided to write something - their goal is to make forum browsing a bit easier - really.

I am using iLauncher from SBSH, this gives you what you want, at a price though.

[Q] Changing TF3D landscape shortcuts

First off I want to thank everyone here at XDA for all the hard work and effort you put into tweaking these great devices.
Now, on to my question, I've searched here and the diamond forum and I can't find any mention of a way to change the shortcut buttons on the landscape TF3D screen. I would really like to be able to customize that screen with shortcuts to applications I actually use. There must be a way to do this, has anyone got an idea?
First post , please go easy on my noobness.
Searchipoos......
Post #9 on first page, bottom ish of second page for a bit extra
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426328&page=2
Thanks Ouza but I saw that post and it's not what I'm looking for. This only deals with changing the two softkeys at the bottom of the landscape screen (which is nice in itself).
I'm wanting to change the 6 big shortcut ''buttons'' above that.
Basically I'd like to make the landscape screen the same idea as the programs tab in TF3D or something like it.
Any ideas... anyone??
I would seriously like to change the big shortcuts as well.I have a dock in my car using the video out. Video out forces Landscape mode. When I hop in my car, I dont want to take notes or check tasks, I want GPS, internet radio, Live Search...
I will dig deep into the registry and let you know what I find.
I want the same thing !!
Video out in the car, so I want to be able to start my Navigation from the landscape-menu.
Jochen
Change Landscape Menu
For the TV out menu that pops on screen after you plug in the video out cable, you can change the shortcuts in the registry.
HKLM\Software\HTC\TVOutPopUp\
There are four links in there, you can change them to any app installed on your phone. Only problem im having is changing the icons.
I have to bump this thread. There must be a customizer out there for the lanscape shortcuts! I just may go back to HTC Home if there is no way to put shortcuts in landscape!
I doubt this is exactly what you're looking for, but herg62123 is working on adding landscape tf3d to his project. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=447056
Not quite,
I have my TP docked in landscape in the car and I would like to open apps like NAV, or Picture Dial, or Kinoma Play in landscape.

I don't think there is going to be any easy way to customize those shortcuts. I'm pretty sure the landscape shortcuts are hard-coded in one of the binary manila files.
That sucks!
Well I guess HTC Home will do for now.
You could change the softkeys to point to two of the apps you want to run. Not the perfect solution but it's better than nothing...
I guess....
Maybe I can use 2nd today and set a button to it with AEbutton and have HTC HOME for landscape and TF3D for portrait.
Thoughts?

Sounds like a good solution. I haven't used either product but from what I've read on here that should work. good luck!
Glad to see this topic getting some attention finally
For anyone interested, try out this theme with a slimmed down version of tf3d in landscape. It may suit what you're wanting more.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=458036&highlight=landscape
Frankly, though, I didn't like it, and preferred to go back to my old theme. My main goal was having a landscape screen with a handful of a few apps I'm most likely to use, but in this theme you still have to scroll through your entire list of apps installed so, it really wasn't any kind of shortcut.
I'll keep sorting through all the manila files for a solution. Anyone with any reference docs or anything on creating themes or customizing tf3d would help as I've never dealt with it until now.

I've been searching around and noticed that indeed themes do change the "landschape shortcuts" but there doesn't seem to be a "general" program that's able to change them. I'm a little confused, because some reactions state it isn't possible to change these "shortcuts", saying they are hardcoded. Does this mean they're rooted so deep in the code that it's very hard to change them? Anyway I keep following this thread and hopefully some come up with a solution... Keep it up!
*Wish I could help*

Sorry, I gotta ask this again.

I REALLY hate the placement of the SIP changer when the soft keyboard is up. There are so many times when I am typing that I accidently hit that tiny little *&^%$% triangle, and it slows whatever I'm doing down until the damn chooser opens.
I'm looking for a way to either eliminate it, and possibly put the chooser it's self under the settings menu.
Start > Settings > System > SIP changer.
Or is there a way to just hide the bottom bar all together while typing? I know this is possible, because the bottom bar is hidden while using Pocket CM.
Anybody... PLEASE help. I have looked at several apps (can't remember what they were called anymore) but none of them did what I am asking. Does ANYBODY know of a good solution, or ... ya know... is anybody willing to put one together?
Hi
FingerKeyboard hides the bottom bar all together http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501434&highlight=fingerkeyb
Good luck
You are free to ask this question, but not in Dev & Hack. Moving to General Q&A.
Thank you for your understanding.

Every time I search it brings me to things I'm not looking for. Which is why I initially posted this in D & H to begin with... I was hoping for a quick solution.

Which Theme . . . ?

I was using a theme on CM 5.0.4.1 and it allowed me to place shortcuts on the home screen in the lower left and lower right of the screen.
The shortcuts would appear in the location where the dots for navigating instead of swiping appear normally.
I wish I could add more detail, but that's all I remember. This feature was very convenient for me.
TIA for any help provided.
apologies if this is in the wrong forum

This what you looking for?
Also...
nexTheme has Dialer and Browser at the bottom.
Ideally I'd like to be able to choose what fills the 2 slots, but I'm good with the updated launcher of nexTheme
McFroger3 - Not exactly, but that would definitely work.
JJackson9995 - I think that's the one. And I think I was able to long press on the dialer and launcher and replace them, or maybe I just filled the spots they were occupying on the bottom row with other shortcuts that I needed.
Either way, both of you have provided assistance that is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!

Sounds more like a home replacement? Home++ or something maybe? Don't think it was a launcher mod as I've yet to see one where you can customize the buttons down there without modifying code.

I am not sure I understand your question. Do you want to reskin them?
On Home screen
go to Menu -> CHT Editor -> SoftKey-> Switch off - Enable CHT Soft Keys -> Menu -> Apply Changes -> Home
restart sense
i think he wants to assign programs to the softkeys
with this release, only 3 are possible.
ask in the CHT or CHTE thread, if they could make more possible in next release

nobody understands your question, but I want to ask the same.
How to change the built in icons of the soft keys?
There is no mention of it in the manual.
I dont want to change the functionality, I dont want to reassign the programs or commands, I just want to change the built-in icons for custom ones.
thank you in advance

Ahh This is actually quite simple. Copy the cht_softkey files from your windows folder into your computer. Use these as templates when creating your new softkey icons. Then simply place them back into the windows folder and reset.
It's bad practice to spam threads for each specific question, when a CHT2 thread already exists.
Furthermore, this question has been already answered and if you had bothered to search you would have known that.
Finally, the name of the thread is very general and therefore is useless for anyone trying to look for information.
I would suggest to the mods to close it or to move it to the CHT thread.

dont worry I didnt try to use any search tool. if I didnt, I wouldnt land in this post
and I agree, thanks to miller710 the mods can lock this thread but not to move it or any, because google leads here.
the CHT thread is too complex, too huge and even when you try to google "cookie's home tab" that thread is not between the results.
Remember to take backup of the 'CHT_XXXX' files from the Windows folder, befor you overwrite them with the new icons/.png files.
Some of the icons e.g. the Notification icons is not .png files but manila files, and you need a manila editor to change them.
Really appreciated - was imo a good question with a bad header
I have searched alot to find this answer - but ended up just seeing this by coincidence. - anway /cheers for being able to change the two 'fixed' icons.
In general when searching for Co0kie Monsters Threads ... don't be fooled by only knowing the writers name - know how to write the writers name.
Cookie Monster = Wrong
Co0kie Monster = Right
Kindly and Thanks for opening this this thread!
Kwasmir
jkolner: backuping is definitely suggested, allways, anytime when doing any "hacking"
Kwasmir: yeah, now when I found the real CHT2 thread I am aware of that little detail cookie x co0kie thanks

I would suggest creating a separate thread named "CHT tips and tricks" where would be the final solutions colected and published.
perfect for searching, perfect for spreading CHT genius
