Ringtones

There was a thread on ringtones and I can't find it, yes I've tried searching but get hundreds of threads back and can't see it. Can someone post the link? Thanks.
lol maybe it would be best if you told what the thread was about
because sure there have been tons of ringtones threads
some about how to get them playing
some about how to put them on the SD card
some which included new tones
........
so given the info about the thread you give i can not narrow it down any more then the search function does
Apologies, my fault. The one that had ringtines included.
Thank you.
bump
bump, come on someone must be able to find it. One of them was the Kill bill whistle. I really want that tone!
Searched on ringtone kill bill, "Search for All Terms" - only hit:

Perfect. Wasn't coming up for me. Thanks.
On a similar tpoic - I'm looking for a topic about a software that will allow a Blue Angel (or similar) to have different ringtones for different callers (like every Nokia will do) - something the phone doesn't do as standard - any ideas????
I'm sure I saw the thread today - but can't remember any specific wording I can search on!!
Riceburner, search for mortring. lets you assign ringtones and sms tones per caller or group.

[Q] TTS for web browser/VoiceOver equivalent for Android?

Hi,
I've been looking for a way to have my Android phone read to me similar to iOS's VoiceOver feature. I'm running Android 2.3 but can't seem to find a way to accomplish this easily.
A couple quasi solutions I have found is to use a RSS reader, such as "FeedSpeak" or "Web Talks" that support TTS (Text to speech), however this only works for RSS feeds. Another method is to convert websites into PDF's using Dolphin Browser's "MyPDF" Add-on and use ezPDF's voice reading feature to read the PDF back.
Am I missing something that is inherent in the Android OS? Does anyone have a better app to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance for your help!
gTen from over at the PPCGeek's forum recommended
Voice Browser Lite: https://market.android.com/details?...dfreebrowser.lite&feature=more_from_developer
This is an excellent example of what I'm looking for, I just wish it was a little more refined. Hopefully this will help someone looking for a similar app.
Hello,
I've been looking for exactly the same solution for a while now, and ended up looking at the same SW as you mention -- but found them a bit lacking. And yes, I agree, Voice Browser is annoyingly close. What bothers me the most is why isn't that one a browser plugin that can be activated only when needed.
Sorry if this doesn't provide you with any added knowledge (apart from the consolation that you exhausted all existing options).
Let us know if you find anything new / better. TIA for that.
I'm sorry for posting in a such old thread, but I was looking for exactly the same app and Google brought me here. I foud one very simple but that can satisfy the requirements of anyone looking for something similar. Here it is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.benigumo.speechweb
Web Speech doesn`t work for me...I just get FC's all the time...
I think it's really annoying that there is no simple App or Add-on for this feature.
In fact I find it unbelievable. Is there really no convenient solution?

I wonder if the permissions in android prohibit an app like that. my understanding is that apps reallycan't interact with other apps for security purposes.
Use "Voice Reading" app for reading web pages android
"Share" the web page to "Voice Reading" (read aloud) app. You have to get the app from Googleplay. This is the best way that I have found.
It's the highest rated reading app. Remember you can 'share' any page or email.:good:

Xda

Is there is any way to chat online on xda for problems
25 views but no reply
Whats happening:what:
That's because, there is a facebook group about our phone, but mostly because that's a forum, not skype. Idea is not to chat, idea is to bring something useful, not to talk about "how are you" or "what are you doing today". About problems(if you are talking about forum problems, there is a thread for that), there are a lot of subforums where you can get and give info, also search engine is pretty much close to perfect, so there is no need to chat. It's as simple as that.

[Q] How to hear my own voice while talking on phone

Hello all,
This is one of those questions that's weird to search for because I cannot find the right search terms. In some circles I might say that I am looking for feedback, but that leads to the wrong kind of answers. I want to be able to hear my own voice in my phone (especially through my bluetooth earbuds) while in a voice call. It would be a bonus if I could have this functionality in any other voice app like Skype.
This was common functionality on landline phones, but it is something that most mobiles (and my current rooted i537 Samsung S4 Active) lack. Being able to hear my own voice in my ears while on calls would keep me from yelling while talking, and everyone around me would appreciate that.
Does anyone know of an app or a hidden feature that would allow me to enable this functionality? It would be especially nice if I could modify the volume.
Thank you,
somoose
You are looking for "Delayed Auditory Feedback"
One app I found that allows you to set this during calls is DAF Professional. Its a paid app. They have a free version that allows a trial for 1 hour.
Maybe if you look for apps that support DAF in call you can find more options.

Click to collapse
Thank you. This gives me a search phrase and lets me know that the basic functionality exists. Now to find an app can be configured to work only during phone calls and not during any other time. This is a great start - thanks!
Glad I could help! and good luck finding the right app!

[Q] Is this possible with Tasker?

Hello,
First i wanna apologize if I didn't post this thread in the right forum as it's my very first time posting on XDA.
Now what I'd like to do is that when a word is highlighted, no matter the app (in the internet browser is preferred, am using Chrome) there's a menu with definitions for that word that pops up.
I've seen Google doing similar within their newsstand app, when you highlight a word you get its definition from Google dictionary live.
For the record I'm using Tasker on my Xperia z1 c6906, unrooted with Rogers wireless in Canada.
Thanks for your help
