Hey, I know there is the google search bar with voice search integrated already, but I want a widget similar the google search, but just the voice icon so it doesn't take up an entire row, and maybe turns into the entire search bar like the normal widget does. Is there anything like this out yet?

There is a shortcut button out there: ICS Voice Search Shortcut

I just noticed this:
When using Home++ the Google Search widget has an orange-green circle icon for the voice search button instead of the standard icon (it's normal when I don't use Home++). Is this normal or is just me?
Yeah, I have the same. Not sure why. Anyway, I dont keep the widget on my home screen personally......
Wonder if Home++ might get an update any time soon.
Could anyone give me a flashable zip to Voice Search 3.0.0..?
I'm trying to get a Voice Search 3.0.0 icon to appear on app drawer and have tried various things, but none of it seemed to work.
It works when I press Voice icon on search widget, but I really would like an icon on the app drawer because that's how I used to use Voice Search all these times........
I have Koush Alpha 11.
Thank you!
Sorry if this has been covered, but every search just pulled up the main search function issues. What I'm looking for is a way to search for a specific widget installed on the phone.
With GB, a long press on the homescreen would bring up a widget list that could be quickly scrolled through. With the stock ICS setup, the only way to add a widget is to find it by scrolling page after page of widgets until you get to the one you want. If your widget starts with one of the end letters of the alphabet, you'll be scrolling through lots of pages!
I'm surprised there isn't an easy way to search for a specific widget. I checked the search settings and can include installed apps but not widgets. Is there an easier way to quickly find a widget you want to add to the homescreen?
You can try 3rd party launcher like holo or go launcher

I've tried several - most replace the widget tab on the app drawer with the old-style longpress on homescreen to add a widget. But when you do that - the labels on the widgets don't show up! There is some bug maybe because in ICS this is not the designed way to add widgets and the labels show up as white text on white background. You can get around it by press & hold to see the single widget text but it's actually harder than stock ICS. I did read somewhere that if you root, you can go play with some of the files to fix this.
But I was hoping there was an easier way to search for a specific widget Kinda strange for Google to leave that out.
Hi,
Today when I opened my phone the standard internet search bar on my start page was gone and I checked the "add widget" thing and it was not there to add...
how do I get the search bar back on my start screen?
Hey,
maybe you just deactivated the google search. You can go into settings--> applications-->application manager and then look it up under deactivated apps.
If it is not there you should find it in the widget overview in a folder called google search.
Maybe a dumb question and I see a lot of people wanting the opposite but is there any way to get back the old behavior of the search bar in app drawer, so that it only searches for installed apps instead of searching the web and everything?
For "real" search I use the search bar on homescreen or assistant, but in app drawer it should only show installed apps.

You could use a third party launcher to get that functionality
