Does anyone know any GPS packages that work well on this phone . I understand that Symbian isn't the best for Gps !! I have had the phone for about 4 weeks and find it good with a few annoying quirks-no predictive text, no voice dial, no external volume controls for music player etc etc.

First link is for Wayfinder
That second link is for tomtom 5 mobile.
I think route 66 would probably work also.
i have tom tom mobile 6 with windows mobile 5 in qtek 2020 but when start the application the display black.
Please help me please
thank you
You need an update file for tomtom.exe. search you will find here some where
Have you tried TomTom 6.1?
I had the same problem with 6.0 and had to use Buzz's modified exe. But when i loaded 6.1 it was ok.
Hopefully it will work for you to.
tom tom 6
thanks but i don't no where is tom tom 6.1 can you send me link?
Hi,
I had the same problem with my Tomtom on my M1000.
I searched on internet and found a little program developped by a great developper!
In fact, it seems that when Tomtom starts, it modifies two registry keys.
I think I've found it on this forum but not sure.
The soft is called TTN Backlight Fix.
I cannot attach it because my Personnal computer has burned so I need to change hardware to get my datas back.
So you can try to search this little fix and instead of launching TTN directly you launch this fix which starts TTN for you.
Hai,
i have done this with a hex-editor. Succes garanteed!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=261317&page=2&highlight=tomtom+backlight
The hex-editor trick worked for me too.. allthough I am very curious if this is a bug in Tomtom 6 or in Windows Mobile. Or could it be a problem with the Rom-image we are using?
Since I have an official Tomtom 6 package, I will call them tomorrow and ask them for a solution.
I will keep you guys posted here
too bad, apparently I made it too easy for the supportcrew of TomTom to answer my question. They blamed my powersaveoptions. I rephrased the question and resubmitted the request. Let's see what happens next.
cheers..
so, a little update.. after alot of back and forth.. we're still nowhere
I even mailed the modified .exe. Now we happily wait for their second level support. 2nd level's first reaction was that I should hard-reset and reinstall.. which was obviously no solution (more like basic microsoft troubleshooting: if it doesn't work, reboot. If it still doesn't work, reinstall)
They came back from that, so we now await their newest ideas..
Will keep you posted.
greetz,
Hi there,
I am looking for a good car navigation solution for Raphael (for travelling in Europe). After reading infos about TT which seems to work at least with the latest releases and Navigon (for which I am not that sure ...), I now read about Tele Atlas McGuider which also seems to be quite good and even less expensive, but it seems to lack TMC or other traffic assistance support which is crucial for me (radio broadcasted or via internet, I do not mind, but it is a must).
I know that there are some other solutions out there. I wonder if you guys have experiences to share, also w/regard to VGA screen resolution and so on.
Thanks!
Eriol
I like the CoPilot Live, works very well and has a nice look and feel.
Co Pilot live is ok, but the traffic part of it is rubbish compared with tomtom. There is no visual display of traffic incidents ahead on the map, only a description that pops up with incident details which you either avoid or ignore. You can set it to automatically reroute, but you dont know whats going on. In my opinion, tomtom is currently the best.
I also found co-pilot slow to scroll around the map, but there again i dont have a fast mem card. Unfortunately there si no trial version available. make sure you get the version specific for the HTC diamond (also compatible with Touch Pro). It can be purchased online (from handango) cheaper than most retail stores.
Thx to both of you! I still would like to compare TomTom with McGuider ...
Eriol
McGuider
Hello,
I am using last version McGuider (7.x I think) and it work fine, but map and icons are too small, I and don't know if it can be repair.
Please if some one use thist program please write down here about how work.
Bye
Garmin XT is the best imo. TT cannot hold a candle to Garmin.
iGO 8
I think iGO 8 is the best solution for Raphael
Navigon
I really like Navigon !
Search Youtube for Navigon 7 !!

Hi Jochen,
I have a stand alone PNA running Navigon 6.5, and I like it, too. But my experience with Navigon, especially running on my HTC Wizard (MN 6.x), is that the route calculation is rather slow and the whole app is not that fast on a PDA. This might be different on a Raphael due to processor speed, though. We also will use an Xperia X1 here: Is it possible to run MN7 on 800x480 screens?
Eriol
i maybe wrong, but some navigation programs will only run when the supplied memory card is installed. Installing the maps to another card will not work which therefore means you have to swap cards when using the software. Check before you buy!!!

Navigon is nice-- but once you're in the tunnel and lose signal it would say you've reach your destination I also don't like its route calculation-- it's giving me a longer route than tomtom
To my mind ist the default navigation (TomTom 7.451) the best. it uses vga, is fast, new maps

In Copilot7 there is indeed visual display of incidents ahead on the map, you also can get to incident-specific info in just three taps, reporting delay and other usefull info........
No need for automatic rerouting, you can let Copilot ask you what you want to do, after you have read the incident-info and delay time.....
No need for the diamond-version either, regular version runs great on my Touchpro....
See.......................you we're allmost right.....
Someone tried Navigon Mobile Navigator 7 for PDA on Raphael?
Is it compatible and full working?
Before then I buy, I asked to the support team, but no clear response about it.
Thanks.
NAVIGON Mobile Navigator 7 can work fine on Raphael, with this simple workaround.
You need a GPS port replicator (like Franson GPSgate) to solve the GPS signal stability problem on MN7.
I hope this can help who love this product family.
Hello,
I was searching and searching for days to find a working version of Tomtom 7 for my Vox.
Finally, I found one
Here are the instructions:
Based on HTC VOX...
Just drop the navigator folder and the maps you want
onto your phone/pda's memorycard.
Download Fakecursor: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FX5VQO87 and put the long poc file in the /windows/ folder!
Then just start the app on your phone and and have a long keypress of the voicecall button to run Fakecursor.
Hopefully it will work fine
Remember, this is only the application!
You can buy maps in the Tomtom store
Application: http://hotfile.com/dl/5914421/54f154c/tomtomwmapp.rar.html
Have fun!
I just don't want to enter into legal stuff (I mean that also the software itself is intellectual property of TOMTOM so....)
BTW I'm here just to advise you that time ago a version that doesn't need a fake cursor was leaked and released... something like v 7.915 (9195) i don't remeber the exact one...
Regards
I tought that downloading the software itself without maps is not illegal.
V7,915 didn't work for me..
what gps you use for vox
You can use each bluetooth gps.
I use an Iblue 737 with MTK chipset, always a fix within 10 seconds
Hi everyone,
As i've said in the title i've just leave my wimo kaiser to join android community with the HTC Desire.
And 'cause i'm a android newb I need some help to find alternative wimo programs for my first android experience :
-the first one : I've heard the best of PANDA firewall incoming call / sms but before install it I need some explanation : it could kill incoming unwanted call but can it store black list SMS in memory to consult it after a time ? If not... could you help me to found one could do this ?
-second : is there a way to use IGO 8 on android ?
-last : could you help me to found a call recorder which can store calls in MP3 ?
Thank for all answers

Try doing some research on your own too, it helps getting some experience.

Maybe consult documentation for the app? It should have all answers you are looking for.

Yes. Search the Market or go to IGO website.

I do not think one is available for Android yet.

False. No OFFICIAL IGO app for Android yet. However, if you buy a Samsung Spica in Hungary, you'll get an IGO for Android for free. But believe me, IGO for Android is not the same as in WinMO. It's actually IGO Amigo, a slightly altered version is running on iPhone, but IMHO it's a piece of crap (at the moment). Sygic, Navigon are very good alternatives for GPS based offline navigation.
NavNGo (creator of IGO) currently working on a new, improved version called PRIMO, however the relase date is TBA.
@IGO: As a former winmo user i went from tomtom to igo8 and then to igo amigo just because of performance and simple usage compared to igo8.
Under Android I am using "Motonav" which is basically Igo Amigo (same content folder!) and it working like a charm: fast, accurate and really way better than TomTom, Igo8 or Amigo under Winmo (Winmo 6.5 using a TouchPro with Bauners Rom right before his data crash)
@Callrecorder: yes there are several solutions - and they work. Search the market!
Here is a link to IGO MyWay for android:

Hi there!
I'm going from WinMo too, and tried several apps for GPS nav. As everybody tells, iGo8 (AMigo) is too simple and I prefer Navigon; the best would be MotoNav but doesn't fit exactly the screen (initially made for Nexus).
Do someone know a solution for the calendar for having the name of the person who invite you to a meeting. In WinMo, you have the name of the organizer, the attendees, ... (that's normal, it is their software (Outlook)).
I don't really need the attendees (but it's cool to have, to check if everybody is there), but I really need the organizer??
Thanks for your replies!
PS: yes, I've already done a lot of research, but either I'm not using good searching words, either it doesn't exists.

You can blacklist any contact you like. Just check the Send to Voice mail option at the contact. ChompSMS blacklists smss and you can view them in the blacklist window of the prog

igo is there, look for it. warez sites already posted it dosens of times so it's out there (we don't support warez though

well couldn't find one that uses mp3 for outputs, but is mp3 really necessary?
We have a call recorder for your desire (Total Recall) though it records only in AMR, 3GPP and MPEG4 formats. We're finalizing an update to get it recording nicely on the Desire & Evo so PM me for the download URL (don't use the version from our website for a couple days on the Desire/Evo).
Cheers!
