WM 6 Problems

The rom works fine exept for e few small things:
(i use Andys v6 wm6-for-tornado-perfect-english-edition-20070810)
It takes several seconds after i push the answer button before the phone answers when i receive a call.
The buttons for contacts and sms dont work anymore.
Have anyone else come across this?

1. Use light files for ring - IMHO you set up a very huge file to be a notifier of incoming call
2. Use Sp5_fix, you can get it here => http://www.jm012a9749.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Extras.zip (this is extras for Phil's WM6 build)
Didn't you catch a problem with GPRS?

Outlook/Direct Push and GPRS 3G Connection

Hello all,
I use the Outlook to access my mail, via exchange. I have a question about this. I use Direct Push mail with it so I can receive all mails as soon as I get them on the exchange server, but when I delete them on the Polaris, they still remain on the server. Wasn't it supposed to delete it on the server too? Do I need to Send/Receive to delete a msg from the exchange inbox?
Is there a more efficient program or way to use with Exchange servers? Maybe a hidden feature I didn't find?
About the GPRS Connection, I'd like to know if it's normal for the GPRS Connection (with 3G) to be disconnected every time I have a call (ingoing or outgoing), and then it tries to connect after the call. How can I prevent this?
Thanks in advance.
it depends on the way you set up the behaviour of the push mail function.
In your case, I assume the mail will be delete the next time your device will be synchro with the server (so the next time you receive a mail, or the next time you send a mail, or the nexdt time you click on send/receive).
Some times when I have a call, my 3G connection are deactivated, and switch to a classic GPRS connection.. But I never experience a full deconnection during the call.
But assuming you activate the push mail, the connection should be automatically reactivated after your call, so it is not a big issue (we are talking about an interuption of a few seconds).
Hoping this help.

In my case, it will delete the next time I sync with the server. But is there a way to configure the push mail?
You're right in everything you wrote. It reconnects after I end the call. I just have to be careful not to hit the "End Call" button when it's reconnecting, or it will not connect.
Thanks for the feedback.

unfortunately, I think mail status (delete, unread, read) is not a criteria to force a synchronization. the only criteria to run a "real time" synchro is when you receive a mail or when you send a mail (take a look in the planification options in ActiveSync).

Yes, you're right. Or at least I can't find any other way.
I used to own a Nokia and had the Exchange activated, it would sync all the times. If I deleted a mail on my device, it would sync with the server and delete there too. That's the reason I was asking.
Thanks for the replies, zen.

problem for jeyo mobile extender 2.5

My ppc is connected with ActivSync via USB. Everything works good, the only Problem is if I get a new SMS it is not automatically synchronized with Outlook. I have to press the "Sent/Recive" Button everytime. Than all new SMS are synchronized with outlook without any problem.
Is there any possibility to acitivate the automaticall synchronization if I get a new SMS?
Thanks for your help guys

If you go to the Options menu for Jeyo ME, there should be something called 'Send/Receive SMS messages on connecting'. That should do it.

Disable phone function on HTC Touch 3G

Hello,
I have a HTC Touch 3G which an emplyee needs to use as a pda only. So, he won't be using it as a phone. The pda synchronizes mail and calender items by air (MS Exchange direct push). Does anybody know how I can disable the phone function. Or how I can delete/hide the text Phone in the display in the menu bar at the bottom left on the display.
Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I cannot remove the sim card because the phone needs to synchronize email and calender items using microsoft exchange direct push. The phone is only used as a pda which synchronizes these items over the air. The user may not make phonecalls with it.

then the second option!!!!!
or third or fourth!!!
I turnedthe phone off in Comm manager,
However, the text Phone is still displayed iin the left corner at the bottom of the main screen, or home screen however you call it. When I click it it says "the phone is switched off, would you like to turn it on?". So the user is still able to use it.
If that is the case, then ask your operator to place a barr on outgoing calls (not including data of course). You could do this on your phone but is easily reversable.
Doesn't help the OP but i know this is very easy to do on a BlackBerry attached to an Enterprise Server. A policy can be sent which disables the phone function but leaves everything else running.

dead screen on ppc

Hi all
The screen on my diamond is dead, I can receive calls so it seems ok. I would like to save all the contacts onto a notepad before I send it off for repair. I have a spare phone but all numbers are not on sim.
Is there an application that can do this?
Thanks
