Try my first app "Daft Engine" and help me fix a bug! - Android Apps and Games

Hi!
first post, first app, not my first bug...
If you try my app "Daft Engine" a soundboard (you know how to get it) you will notice that all the sounds are playing after a button is released but i havn't really found a onButtonPressed(), is there one?
cheers!

Are you trying to use View.OnKeyListener or View.OnTouchListener?
Because both can detect the "*_UP" event. Anyway, I think you may want to move this to the development forum.

[HELP ME!!!] Can't remember app title.

Hi all.
This is making me pull my hair out!!! There's an app available, from this site I believe, that allows you to bring up the task manager by clicking the X that normally closes (or hides) applications, and then swiping the stylus down. (You can also do it across, but that's for something different.)
Can anyone remember the name of this app as I'm desperate to find it and get it on my phone.
Thanks in advance,
John.
I think you mean this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4030896
Its called Showcase. The earlier versions were as you described but it has developed further now.
Thanks Chris, but that's not it. Funilly enough, I'd just tried that before posting this thread and found it not suitable for my needs.
Someone MUST know what I'm talking about!
I think you're talking about QuickMenu, or QMenu, just look for it

Click to collapse
Thanks for the suggestion. It's not that that I was looking for, but I've decided to start using that anyway, as it's pretty good.
I think the program I was looking for was called WsTask, but I can't find an up-to-date working version of it any more.
I did find WkTask, but that doesn't work well on WM6.5 - it looks very strange.
Thanks for the help guys. I'll stick with QuickMenu and see how I get on.
closer-app -
could it be this one: http://pda.jasnapaka.com/tman/releases/0.9.9.php
I find it very useful - to me it satisfies my needs,

HTC EVO-Help turning off "safe search filtering" on youtube app

Same issue. Haven't found an answer yet.
Just have to w8 for Froyo...
Ive tried that Rom and youtube works fine (only thing is the camera doesnt work yet as the roms are still in development stage)
look here ...>>
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC Evo ROMs
if you want to try the TEST Froyo Roms look under DEV-ROMs...
on Froyo you can search for ANYTHING without it blacking out and saying 10000000 results in the upper left then no results found in center of screen when you search for "Ass Shakin" or smthn like it lmao.
hope that helps...
also as a side note i tried to pull the .apk from one of the froyo roms to no avail it said parsing error ill try again on others in few...
A response from HTC on this matter:
"This feature has been disabled per the carrier. If you wish to search for content that is something that would be blocked by a “safe search” then I would recommend going to Http://www.m.youtube.com using your Internet browser on the phone. This will allow you to search for things with out a filter."
This is the 2nd thread on the same topic, so I have posted this on each one.
Pretty lame, eh?
Never seen BS like this before...
It will not allow search for "naked gun" nor "naked truth"... What kind of nonsense is this ? Sprint guys, are you insane ?
After applying Froyo update (on my desire) today, I was now able to modify this option to disable safesearch on youtube app.
hi,
here is the xml file with the settings.
maybe someone can figure out which variable to change to unlock.
Eric
It's stupid for them to block the switch, cause youtube does not carry "dirty" videos anyway. Makes ya feel like yer using an apple device. Filter me oh great one.

[Q] Help disabling freecore on freedom

I was trying to get freedom to work on into the dead, so I followed a tutorial on YouTube which told me to add a hashtag on the second line of my hosts file (sorry I can't post the link) but I still got the 'error no connection' notification. Then I tried enabling freecore, and it still didn't work. So I downloaded this installer 'Google Play Store 4.0.26 + Installer Cracked 1.1.2 Mod By Chelpus'. After that I was able to get the free in-app purchases, but now whenever I try to disable freecore it says 'freecore isn't available on your system' and the checkbox remains ticked. I don't know what freecore is so I'm not sure if I should just reinstall freedom. Can someone help me? I also have adaway installed if it's relevant. Sorry if I'm doing this post wrong - it's my first one on the site.
*facepalm*
If you haven't read the rules then I don't know where you've been.
Please do not ask questions like these. Its so sad to see you're stealing from people. That's right, you're stealing and that sucks dude.
I hope no one replies to this thread with an answer because we don't like to discuss such things. I hope I haven't come off harsh.

[Q] How to add/create "how-to" popup at the beginning of an app?

I have a question about How to adding/creating "how-to" popup ("Swipe down from the top to exit full screen") at the beginning of an app?
I was just checking out Google Play Books app, when I opened the app, a pop "Swipe down from the top to exit full screen" appeared. I was looking for something like this to implement on my app.
If there is someone who know how to do it or any tutorial or anything like this, please help.
Thanks
Just use an entry in SharedPreferences.
When your app starts, check wether the key already exists, if not, the user (probably) just installed your app, otherwise he has used it before.
EDIT: So you have to save this key after having found out the user is new, so it won't be shown again at the next app start.
DQQpy,
I believe the question was not answered, as I also have the OPs question. How do I make those instructions and visual aids that will provide that experience to the user on first use?
Your original answer though is helpful, as it indicates how to see if this will need to be done or not, but does not fulfill the entirety of what was being asked for.
If anyone else can chime in and help, I would really like to be able to add this into an app I am working on.
Oh okay, and what do you mean with Pop-Up? Perhaps a dialog? Can't post link, just google "android dialog".

APP that keeps unfocused apps focused

Hello guys, I've accessed this forum for many years now, and always found answers for all my Android related questions. Now the time has come that I have a question that I cannot seem to find a solution to and have decided to create a account and ask the best forum for help.
So what I want to know is if there is an app that can keep my game running on the background just as if it were on the foreground. I know a lot of you have played a game where there is an auto attack option and if you leave it on 24/7 you will get more levels, items and stuff. I've searched a lot and didn't find a good solution what I did find was this floating app that claims to kind of do what I want but I need to connect to a computer with adb everytime I want it to work. The name of the app is floating apps I can't post the link yet because my account is noobish but will update.
So guys is there an app or perhaps some way to edit the .apk so that it works like that?
Anyone? Maybe if I rooted my device?
