[THEME] Hero One (Updated 4/21/10 with both Blue and AOSP Green versions)

This is my Hero One theme. It began because I had a lot of requests to port my White and Blue theme for Legend over to Sprint based ROMs. So, I started to port it over, and while I was doing it all the ideas that I had been throwing around for an update to my original theme began working themselves into this one. It snowballed, and the end result is Hero One.

Included:
-Badass Nexus boot screen from zenulator
-All necessary apps and files for LWP(including the OpenGL tweak)
-AOSP taskbar with custom Rosie
-Black menus with blue highlights and button pushes
-Dialer from my White and Blue theme
-Fade in\out animations a la Darkstar
-Lockscreen info: If you use the Vanilla lockscreen it will turn your buttons blue like the picture. If you use the HTC lockscreen it will make it clear. It does not add or take away either.
-Includes the Genie Widget from 2.1, not that crappy port for 1.5.
-I did not change the app icons because this is in fact still a Hero, not a Nexus One. Nor did I add or remove any apps. Its just the theme, not a ROM.
I built this using Fresh 2.0d, so it should work on all Sprint based ROMs. As always, make a nandroid and I am not responsible for the health of your Hero. And, if you feel like using my work in your work, please acknowledge it.
-Turns out not everyone likes blue . So after I got quite a few PMs asking for a more stock version,I put this together. This will probably be the last update to this theme. Thanks to everybody who has supported and enjoyed this theme! And with that, the AOSP Green version:*with a 3G icon just for andyriot
-Please note, that if you flash the version with live wallpapers, your weather animations will cease to work correctly. You should just go ahead and remove the HTC WeatherWallpapers.apk if you havent already done so, or flashed Flipz's zip.

-- Works great - - Just that i do like the Clear Genie Widget from 2.1. I tried replacing it with the clear one and now the widget wont load.

Oh, that's already in the works. I already have two themes, just different color variations which are still being worked on as well as a couple of boot screens. I figured I'd take a look at your theme and see what I could use... but we'll see where that leads, maybe I'll skip that process.

Awesome! I decided to keep working on the normal Rosie. For some reason no matter how light I make it, it comes out dark.

Awesome Good Job Blue is my color also keep it up.

Love this! Only wish the vanilla lock had a black background.

Well, let me just say... haven't been tempted to do a custom rom at all till seeing your screens.. now it's a MUST!!!! Black is my favorite colour and your rom/theme would be well within my likes...
Don't know the advantages to custom rom or the disadvantages but either way.... looks are important...
You can see by laptop screen, darker the better:

It's called "Darkside" for Windowblinds app. It's looks really good if you like dark themes but every now and then you'll notice something cookey about it. For the most part though, I use it 95% of the time.

Haven't tried Dark Ginger yet, but in Dark Froyo 2.2, the reboot and power off buttons weren't themed (they were white with a gray outline while airplane and sound were solid gray, all on a white background). Was wondering if it's fixed on this one, or is it a straight port?

Wow, I never noticed that since I use quickboot. I see that now with DarkGinger too. I'll look into fixing that. Thank you!

Not a problem. Don't have my laptop yet, so I can't theme or fix things, so I figured I'd help you out a bit. Not to mention you'd probably do a better job anyways.

looking great so far.
the widget editor in adw still looks a little bit funny, the buttons and icons look nice, except for the color of the text. also, the background/border is still grey. I figure you already know about it though.
I just tried out navigation and it looks so awesome!
I imagine it will be easier to change the text color of the notification drop down once cyanogen adds it into the settings. are you going to wait for that or are you trying to change the background and text colors of the notification drop down?
1 thing I would like to see is a different icon for gps in the status bar. right now it is the location bulls eye with a solid center.

Yeah, all those things you mentioned I will work on. I have not changed any status bar icons to have people enjoy gingerbread icons for a while till I complete the images there. Different sizes so I will have to make them again cause resizing the images they look weird so I will remake the old ones smaller! The pulldown bar is giving me issues but yes once they complete the code changes with the rom then my edited images should work. They have theirs already in the framework but the code is not there yet! Thanks for the feedback!

I have redone most of the animated .png's "from scratch" in Photoshop, including the 120+ battery icons, the spinners, "Connecting" call icon, downloads, etc. as well as a LOT of the static icons and .9.png's. So these icons will be unique to this theme unless someone likes them and ports them to another (feel free themers, but please give credit!). Bootscreen is from the interweb (sorry, I forget) & is not the ideal resolution but really "matches"...

I figured I'd get compared to that theme. the resemblance is unintentional but I take it as a great compliment!
The 'glow' on mine isn't a part of the status bar, it's a shadow I tweaked. You can tell in the 1st pic where the notifications are down it moves

First off, HOLY CRAP!!! Sir, nice theme.
And I don't think just because this is a green theme that makes it similar to the greenglow theme. This one has a more metallic look, and it's very polished and professional (not knocking greenglow here, it looks great as well).
And I think he thought you simply forgot to add a screen cap of your lockscreen, but it seems you are redoing it.
As for 2.2, I am using Free X10 and I've opened it up, the framework-res.apk looks very similar to 2.1, but the names of all the images are different, Sony renamed everything for their ROM, so you can copy/paste many of the images, but you will have to rename them all... considering how many there are... it will most likely take some time. As for the phone and messenger and some other apks, those will a little reworking, because they are slightly different from the Sony versions (mostly the messenger).
I would love to see a 2.2 port, because I am really impressed with this.
However, may I suggest perhaps changing the notification pull-down background, the chain link looks nice, but it seems a little busy and doesn't seem to fit the rest of the theme all too well, maybe a transparent dark green brushed metal look, something similar to the default background. But it's really just personal opinion here. I don't know if this is possible, because the background is usually tiled, maybe just a solid, transparent, dark green.
As for names, I suck at naming things, lol... But I get an industrial feel from this... maybe "Industrial Green", or "Industrial Hunter".
Keep it up, this looks beautiful.

Even if I do not use the theme, you (who made it) deserve congrats. It is well made, beautiful and posh. As I have and love my luster white x10, some colors seem not to match it. Its is personal, I know. I would love having a brown/golden theme, or even a Violet one.

I am also playing with doing a "perforated metal" pulldown.

[Theme] Blue/Red/Green Theme V1 for Prime ROM v1.3r2

So I could not find any nice blue themes for the trans so I decided to get put one together. I ported over BigDX-XoomZoomBlueWifi by bignadad and used most of his stuff. Some of the png's I could not use as it caused issues with the trans. I themed the Gmail and marketplace myself as well as the clock on the lock screen. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I changed the blue Gmail some. I made the default text a darkerblue and changed some of the other png's. I have the screen shots below and the flashable gmail file if you want it.

Red / Green Theme

Issues:
1: Day and date on the lockscreen are not blue. I cannot find were in the XML it is located.
2: Marketplace. On the android app page there are green droids. Cannot find were in the xml those are. When you click on an app the top of the page is green. Cannot figure out where in the xml that is.
3. Not all images are red.

I like it alot and I really appreciate you taking the time to make a them for prime. Not complaints by any means just how it is for me and the way I use my Transformer. The screen seems harder to see on low brightness and blue text is hard for me to read.

What do you all think of a red or green theme? I am thinking of doing this same theme in green and or red. Before I do it though I would like imput on it. It is alot of work.

I would go for a green theme....even green AND red could potentially be decent

RED and BLACK!

Well the issue with Pink is that I am a beginner themer. I do not know alot of the techniques that the good themers use. I ported bignadad's blue theme. He has a green and red one as well. I will prob port those. I can do the XML edits to make Gmail and the Marketplace Pink and the lock screen clock Pink but that is about it. Some of the PNG's are easy to theme and I can do those but when it comes to fading the PNG then I am clueless on how to do that. I use Gimp for my theming. I tried to use PS but you have to like goto college to learn how to use that

I asked Bignadad to port his themes to the TF and he said that someone else was working on it. I assume that's you
I loved the red theme with the biohazard logo and would love to see that on the TF...

And you do good work I added the gmail and market to it but still have some issues with a couple of the images that I cannot seem to find. I am working on your green theme today and will post it when I have it completed.

So is anyone making a Gingerbread theme for the official release?

Anyone making or thinking about making a theme that will go with the official Gingerbread leak we got?
Hopefully others will sound off as well with interest, something clean would be nice and please no more blue, phone has red accents for the love of God. Red, black, white, transparent would all be fine if anyone is up to it, it would be greatly appreciated.

I always theme mine green.

I have mine themed up with green notification icons in the status bar, semi transparent rosie dock with green icons.

Wait so is there a way to put a battery percentage in the notification bar? This is really the only thing I'm missing.

Just run your framework-res.apk through the UOT kitchen.
I feel like I should make a zip for everyone since there's so many requests for it.

Anytime I have played with the framework (on my own) in the past it has led to problems, whether it be metamorph and ninjamorph I always seem to get boot loops.
I have yet to try the UOT Kitchen just hoping the community comes up with some theming options I can just flash in cwm and go from there.

What kind of themes were you guys looking for?
By "Gingerbread theme," does that mean the stock Gingerbread look instead of the Sense stuff? Like Skyraider 4.

I cant speak for everyone but I was looking for a theme that has a nice and clean look to it and maybe changes the colors up a bit. Changing everything that is green to red/black or white/black would look nice. Also changing up the status bar some and the notification pull down window would be awesome. That bright white pull down window is bland, boring, and BLINDING!

So, I pieced together a black and red-ish theme. Looks really cool, from what I can see of it.
I'm getting loads of force closes all over, and the lock screen looks a little weird. Would anyone with more theming experience care to jump in and help me sort it out a little?

I was just messing with with some stuff as well.
I don't have the sdk on my PC and don't really know much about signing apk's and things like that but what I was doing was going into the apk's on my computer (for framework, htc.resourse, and systemUI) and just altering every .png i found that was green and changing it to a nice red.
What I was hoping to do was do that for all 3 apk's and then add those files to the UOT Kitchen to basically bind them all together while also throwing on a battery mod or something.
Probably pretty ass backwards but with my limited exp. I thought it might work.
Only problem is I can't find .png's for a few things like the green android that comes up during a phone call, and I didn't want to take hours changing everything if I wasn't going to be able to complete this project 100%.

I highly recommend [ROM][8/25] McSense v1.1 - GingerSense 1.0 by 00McD00. Ive been running it for while with no issues. Status bar is solid black, pull down is solid black with white notifications, slate style call and lockscreen, and its just as quick as any of the other new stock roms- cool stuff. He seems pretty open to new ideas so anyone with decent know-how could probably help it along.

Only thing I couldn't get to work right in the Kitchen was changng the entire notification screen black and having the text be white as seen here:

After a reboot text comes out black and you can't read it unless you click on it.
I am guessing on McSense Rom that he left the space white with black text?

Right... I'm gonna have to look into UOT...

In case anyone is still interested, I got my force close issues sorted out. I've got a few images that need to be resized, but that shouldn't take too much more work.
I can have something up for you guys in the next few days.
