Current MyTouch 1.0 Radio Revision? - myTouch 3G, Magic Android Development

A friend of mine has having trouble connecting to 3g at all for the last week or so. She's running CM 4.2.15.1, hasn't had any network issues prior to this. Tmo hasn't been a whole lot of help, and I figured once they realize its rooted, they'll probably even less so.
So, what is the current radio version? Later than 2.22.19.26I? Where could I find it?

I'm running 2.22 on my MyTouch 3G Limited Edition. I used to have a Mytouch 3G 1.0... I actually don't have it any more because I bricked it by doing what you're asking to do. I also tried to find the radio for the same reason, except it turned out it was t-mobile's fault not my phone (as I experienced the same problems on my fender, til they caught it).

I am also having this issue! It started a few days ago for me. I cannot hold a 3G connection, but 2G and G seem to work. I've since tried numerous ROMs, wipes, and formats including my SD card yet nothing seems to help.
Any thoughts?

I've had this problem before. For me, it's been accompanied by erratic behavior of SMSing, too. Once it was even an outright inability to connect to the cell network at all.
If that's the case and you call up T-Mo and complain, often they'll give you a credit for a new SIM card, and you can pick it up at a store.

Interesting... So you believe it to be the SIM card and not anything firmware/software/network related? Any idea what could have caused something like this?

T-Mobile network disconnection

Hi all,
First time poster, long time lurker I'd just like to say thanks to everyone in the community. You guys rock.
That said, I am having a minor issue with my G1. I have T-Mobile & my phone is SIM unlocked (I don't know if that would make a difference) and currently running JFv1.5 with the latest radio (2.22.19.26I). The problem is that when I disconnect from a wireless network, my data connection to T-Mobile doesn't pick back up. When I go into Call Settings / Network Operators I let it search for networks and sometimes my phone will have to Re-Register on T-Mobile and other times it will say that its already registered to T-Mobile but the data connection still won't work. The only thing I've found to solve that is a reboot of the phone.
This has happened a few random times when I was on RC33 and one of the Haykuro builds but it has become more frequent since I've updated to JFv1.5. Also, I dunno if it helps to mention but I went to a T-Mobile store earlier this week & swapped out the SIM card with a new one and have gotten the same results.
Is anyone else having this problem? I've searched to no avail and was curious. Thanks.
dissconnect
That's just typical crappy T Mobile service have the same prob here since I'm not close to a T Mobile tower when it loses web access it dumps the connection to reconnect
So that's it? I should chock this up to my carrier's signal being ****ty in random places? No one else has had this issue at all?

I am having this issue. Never had a problem until I updated the radio to the latest version
I have had the new radio since the JF build with cupcake. My signal was great until yesterday. It will go from the lowest to highest in the case of the bar. When I reboot my phone it takes much longer to connect to the network. BUT I think my issue is with the fact my market (Columbus, Ohio) was rumored to get 3G by this june. So I am guessing its just TMobile doing the upgrades and whatever they need to do to impliment the 3G rollout.
lately ive been having horrible service. dont know if it has to do with the new LX being released.
Hi,
I am on 5.02h and was having random disconnects on .26 radio.
I went back to .22 saffaire radio and my connection is more stable now.
I am not sure if others have experienced this as well.
I have flashed my phone yesterday with latest from Haykuro with CUPCAKE. (NO SD APPS)
Phone is running a little slower and I started having the issues with the DATA connection.
In the middle of the Web page loading, the phone looses data connection and I am only left with ability to use voice. The data connection comes back in a few minutes and same thing happens as soon as start using the data connection again.
I do not know if previously stable connection at my location all of a sudden became bad or the new build is causing this.......
just to add
Not to dissenlighten people here but t mob has crappy serivce to rural areas. I myself live in brunswick md usa. I have had. 2 bars since I first got this phone with rc30 with constant dumps to no signal all the time when it upgraded to rc33 still the same thing. Then I rooted my to jf rc33 still the same thing. After that I used jf 1.5 and it still craps out. When I go 20 mins to the north to frederick,md I get full bars and no dissconnects so if it where a radio issue there would have been some kinda difference between radio updates. I myself am a ham operator so I should know how radio signal works so when I chock it up to t mobs crappy service I do not do this lightly since the nearest tower is 20 mins either way from me. People need to stop blaming other peoples builds for this issue since the radio update is from google. If I pop a att sim I get full bar and no dissconnects cause the tower they use is closer that's how I know it's a t mob problem not an issue with the radio. Remember troubleshooting is the best way to see where the problem is. Till t mob puts up more towers and fixxes the packet loss to the phone to remedey this then we will all have crappy service which does not seem to be in the near future for anyone.
I had a similar problem when I was on stock RC30. I called in to tech support and they set up a new APN on the phone so it would switch back to EDGE faster if I lose the wifi connection. I would suggest if you're not around stable wifi, just turn it off.

[Q] Radio messing up after ROM upgrade?

Yesterday I finally received my Inspire. When I bought it it was reported to be unlocked, but I found out it was also rooted and radio S-OFF.
As my carrier recently released a new 4G GSM network alog with their veteran 3G CDMA network, I went migrate my account to a SIM card with my line and put it in the phone. Everything worked fine, HSDPA speeds OK, HSUPA slow (no fix yet on the phone).
Then I decided to install LeeDroid on it, the ROM is awesome, but somehow it wouldn't connect to the carrier anymore (that means, no voice, no data, some eventual GPRS connections). I restored my nand backup but it was still the same.
In the evening, I decided to flash another radio (12.54.60.2SU_26.09.04.11_M2) instead of the AT&T stock version. For this to be a fast process I had to ENG S-OFF (didn't want to mess with other methods).
Immediately the phone found strong, stable signal. I reinstalled LeeDroid and now it works as a charm, HSUPA is even faster than HSDPA (probably due to network traffic) and I'm very pleased.
My big question is: I have had many Android phones (and many Windows Mobile HTC) and I never have seen a ROM messing up with the radio, I don't even believe it's possible. So, what happened?
My only explanation is that the Ebay seller I bought the phone from messed up with something and managed to get the phone working and then sold it before it failed again.
Any thoughts about this?
What you've been through isn't normal, so something must have been messed up with your phone. You never know what a phone off of eBay has been through. Maybe it hadn't been rooted properly or something else was done incorrectly. Normally, any custom Inspire ROM works with any version of Inspire/DesireHD radio. Some radio versions work better than others, but I've never seen an instance of what happened to you with your first LeeDroid install where the data/voice connection was totally dead. What version of radio did your phone come with? It should of been either 26.06.06.30 or 26.06.04.06 - if it came with anything else then the radio had been messed with.
The good news is now that everything is working, you should be free to flash whatever ROM you want with no worry of that weird connection problem happening again. Flashing ROMs on the Inspire (except for the RUU's) doesn't mess with the radio at all, it is a separate deal. But if you continue having weird problems, I suggest flashing the rooted stock RUU from this thread and starting fresh from there.
OK, thank you.
It came with 26.06.06.30, and it's really weird, I have never had this kind of issues.
I'm really not new to android (have had a few CDMA Android phones) and now I'm switching to GSM, but I was really confident that apart from the unbranding process both phones should behave really similar.
Will see how it evolves, for now I'm really enjoying 4G speeds.
Yep, you should be fine. HenryBravo is giving good info. Some radio\ROM combinations work better than others. Depends on the ROM. That's why some chefs have a recomended radio and others do not. Good luck with your new phone.

[Q] CM7 (build 93) - 3G radio issues???

Ok. So I ran into a serious issue and it most likely has something to do with the 3G radio.
Here's what happened. Phone was down to about 15% batteries after some Youtube and Angry birds. I was at my folks place and the cell signal there is not as strong, but still a bar showing. I noticed the phone was quite warm, but thought nothing of it since I was using Youtube/Angry birds. Check a few emails and noticed the batters quickly dropping to 12% within a few minutes and noticed Battery Status Monitor was reporting 990mA draw. I was alarmed, but didn't think too much about it and went to have dinner with the folks.
about 30/40 min later after dinner. The battery was dead. Didn't have my charger with me, so I didn't plug in for another couple of hours until I got home. Plugged in, booted up, everything was fine, except it would not connect to cell service stating "No Service". I then tried a bunch of things, rebooting, swapping out the battery, swapping out the SIM, but no avail. Swapping the same SIM to my old HTC works fine and connects on AWS 3G network.
This morning I tried another SIM that not on AWS, and it connects (assuming on 2G/EDGE network). Swap back in my original SIM and back to "No Service" (my provider only has 3G AWS service).
So at this point, I'm pretty convinced I have a hardware problem so I restore the stock Froyo ROM to return my phone...then magically, I'm back alive on the 3G AWS network!
Someone tell me what's going on!
I haven't tried to reflash CM7 again. Quite frankly I'm quite scared this may not be hardware problem and maybe a software issue instead, and may be stressing the 3G radio.
Help!
First, not to be rude, but this isn't development.
Secondly, what carrier are you using that only has 3G service and nothing else?
To me it sounds like your SIM card could just be shot, especially if you were able to insert another and it worked just fine.
Then again, that's hard to determine if your carrier actually only offers 3G service.
wrong section and a hard reboot always works ! volume up and power down hold for 10 seconds until u see lg

How do I move this thread?
My original SIM is fine. It works fine on my HTC in 3G. The other SIM is with another carrier that's NOT on AWS spectrum and my G2X connected in 2G only. I'm in Canada, our new carriers Wind, Mobilicity, Public, etc are on 3G+ AWS only with no 2G fallback. I can restore my CM7 and try a hard reset if it doesn't come up. But I'm just concern, there's a software issue that cause this failure.

I had just flashed the newest CM7 Nightly and noticed when I woke up in the morning, my SIM wasn't being read. I wiped, re-flahsed, no workie. I tried a hard reboot, nothing. I even flashed to build 90 and still didn't read my SIM.
I'm loading xhoarder's tweaked GB right now...and it STILL isn't reading my SIM!!! What the hell happened?

It worked while I set everything up and loaded my apps. Went to bed, and when I woke up, the SIM wasn't detected. I'm on xhoarder's tweaked GB ROM and my SIM still isn't working.
Going to try a hard reboot.

[Q] HTC One S, CM11, and poor data/cell signal (if any)

Hey everybody:
This is kind of a last gasp for me. My HTC One S suffers from the usual that you read about - "Preparing SIM" messages, constant error reports on bootup, random reboots. I honestly hate the phone.
So I installed a custom ROM. I unlocked the bootloader via HTCDEV, then I used the 12/20/13 CM11 (KitKat 4.4.2) with the 12/15 GAPPS.
The phone worked OK except now I was able to see what I've read about, and probably unknowingly experienced with the stock ROM, and that is the phone constantly flipping between Edge, 2g, HSPA, HSPA+, etc.
So, I decided to try a new radio. Did it a million times on my old G2. In order to get S-OFF to update it, I used the RLL to bring it back to stock Jelly Bean, then Moonshine to set S-OFF, SuperCID'd, and restored it with CWM. Then I installed the 1.20.x radio and at that point, all heck breaks lose with the data network connectivity and even cell signal. I might have no cell or data signal. I might have a cell signal with Edge. If I get up and move, it might go to HSPA, then I might lose everything again. This is much more pronounced than what I witnessed when I first installed the CM11 ROM.
I've tried reflashing the original 1.13 radio and it's no better. I went back to the 1.20 radio and even wiped and reflashed CM11 and GAPPS from scratch. Still very inconsistent data connectivity, so I'm not necessarily convinced it's the version of the radio because they're both pretty darned bad including the original version.
Has anybody been through this and gotten it straightened out? This is strange that even going back to the old 1.13 radio doesn't seem to help.
Thanks for any ideas...
Type: HTC One S, S4, S-OFF, SUPERCID

Who is your carrier? If it is TMOUS you will probably need to make some adjustments to your /system/build.prop file. When I flash a new ROM I have to make the following additions/changes before my data connectivity is stable:
Code:
pm.sleep_mode=1
ro.ril.hsdpa.category = 24
ro.ril.hsupa.category = 6
ro.ril.hsxpa = 4
ro.ril.radio.svn=19
ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule = 0
The setting "ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule=1" probably already exists in the file, so it will either need to be edited or removed. The other settings should not exist.
The changes that actually allow the phone to maintain a data connection (as I recall) are "ro.ril.radio.svn=19" and "ro.ril.fast.dormancy.rule = 0". "pm.sleep_mode=1" allows the CPU to completely power off, and the "ro.ril.h*" settings set max speeds for different data connections. I'm going off of what I've culled from various posts and forums, so I may be off the mark on some of my descriptions.
Here's one post briefly talking about these settings:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48276115#post48276115
You will need root access and your /system partition will need to be remounted as read-write to make the changes. Ask or search if you need help with those. Of course if you're not on TMOUS, then I have no idea...
Yes, T-Mobile US is my carrier. There's another thing I found. If it go into the phone's testing facility (*#*#4636*#*#), I notice that it's set to WCDMA preferred. If I set it to WCDMA Only and give it a few, it does go to an HSPA/HSPA+ connection. However, that setting appears to be lost between restarts.
What I don't get is that when I first flashed the CM11 ROM, I at least had the intermittent E/2g/3g/HSPA connections. How, if I go into that testing facility, it is stuck on Edge (and more consistent since my last flash). I will read the thread you provided a URL to. Thanks very much!

OK, I did these build.prop edits. Unfortunately, they've gotten me nothing. Then I went and investigated them a bit more and tried two other minor changes to build.prop (one of your parameters and added another). I'm still stuck on the Edge network. If you do a lookup, you'll see plenty of others. I think this phone is pretty much worthless - as it's been from day one. It will be my last HTC phone. By contrast, my old G1 and G2 are still working. There are tons of reports about One S phones suffering serious issues like this.
I appreciate your help and certainly, if anybody has a eureka moment, I'd love to hear about it. For the time being, I'll most likely see about getting my old G2 reactivated. Others have reported that the only way they've gotten this fixed is sending it back to HTC under warranty. Mine is out of warranty, which is the only reason I decided I'd do it. It was such a bad phone, I had nothing to lose. The next one I buy will most likely be the Moto X.
Thanks again for the help. I absolutely appreciate it.

Sorry I can't be of more help. I'm still fairly new to this phone, but I quite like it. I suppose I've been more fortunate than others in that I haven't had any real problems with it.
It's not a problem and I'm grateful for you trying. The information you provided was also interesting from a learning perspective.
I reran the RUU on it, just to see if it would make any difference. This made it so I USUALLY have 2g connectivity, but that's as far as it goes and it's not good enough. I have lost that at times, but for the main part, it's consistent with 2g.
T-Mobile is sending me a new SIM to get my old G2 reactivated. While it's only about a quarter of the One S speed, it'll suffice. Unfortunately, the SIM it had couldn't be used because too much time had elapsed since the phones last use. That should be here Monday and that particular phone was WAY more tolerant of different images and radios (knock on wood!). It's currently running a Jelly Belly image of Android 4.2.2 (if I remember), so this should be interesting.
As for my HTC One S, I'll most likely give it to my son to use for games and media. With nothing more than 2g speeds, it's worthless to me. This phone has been a complete and utter piece of garbage since the day I got it. It's funny that my excellent experience with the T-Mobile G1 and G2 by HTC was my reason for buying the One S over a Samsung model. Now that phone is the reason I won't be getting another HTC. Strange how that works.
Again, thanks VERY much for the help!

Weird, I had a desire z (same phone as g2) and it had really bad reception while holding it. Would lose all signal in the house. All my other phones used have been fine and pretty well equal - nexus one, desire hd, one s, my girlfriend's iPhone are all about the same.
This summer at a cottage my sister gs3 had no service all week, same network and the one s and iPhone
4s both could squeak some signal if you didn't touch them. A slight edge going to the iPhone most of the time I think.
Probably either a radio issue with that phone on your provider or defective hardware?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
It's not the provider (T-Mobile). My wife's Samsung has 4g here in the house - no issues. I took the One S out and had 2g everywhere. It's the phone.
I'm also guessing it's most likely the radio, as in a bad chip. Once you try to burn a new firmware into it, it finishes it off. Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly no engineer. It may or may not be that, or may be WAY more involved. Some people said the only way they got it fixed was by HTC replacing the main board.
The phone was a POS even before installing a custom ROM. Random reboots, constant startups with messages asking if I wanted to report the errors to HTC, random instances of NO data connectivity and then a message saying the phone is "Preparing the SIM card". I finally realize now that the occasional drops I would get while working remotely in Mexico (using a Movistar SIM) were most likely a result of this thing losing it's data connectivity while "Preparing the SIM card." The issues with this phone and the fact that it was out of warranty were the only reasons I took a chance on installing a custom ROM.
I'm sorry that I most likely sound like I'm ranting. However, I've searched all over and found SO MANY issues with this phone, that there's no way they should NOT have been recalled. Even T-Mobile told me there were many reported issues with these things. Both companies failed their customers.

Here in Canada we don't even have 2g on Telus, Bell, virgin mobile and koodo (I am on Telus), so the several phones that seem to have network problems on 2g or switching back And forth only have those issues on Rogers/fido or the small carriers like wind.
A guy I knew from highschool years ago works at fido and I remember him telling me last year this phone had some reception issues.
When telus had this phone on their website still they had pretty well all 5 star reviews. So my phone would probably be a piece of **** on a 2g/3g network too luckily they work perfectly on hspa only.

Interesting. It's nice to have the option in the case of there ONLY being Edge/2g/3g service available, but not to be stuck on it when HSPA is there.

True, at least around here though the amount of area without service for Telus/bell or Rogers seems to be pretty equal. So I'm happy not to have the issues with switching between 2g, 3g and LTE. It's hspa or hspa I guess.

[Q] No signal strength all of a sudden

Hello,
I bought my Nexus 5 on the 11th of December 2013 and it had been working flawlessly ever since. Since last week, I started noticing the occasional signal drop and I'd be out of cell reception but would usually be back up within no time. However, yesterday, out of the blue I'm travelling on the highway and my signal strength disappears never to come back again. I've tried the following:
- Restore old backup (including EFS)
- Went back to stock from PA
- Upgraded to the latest radio
- Took back cover off to see if anything was wrong but found nothing.
- Tried another SIM card
Nothing worked. My SIM card works fine in another phone. Everything else such as WiFi and Bluetooth works flawlessly but I just don't get any reception.
This is very disappointing and I have my fingers crossed hoping someone can help me with this since I didn't plan on getting a new device for at least another year especially after paying $520 USD for my phone here in my country.
Thank you for looking.
im having a similar problem with the radio after the last few otas. im getting a lot of dropped calls on 3g aws...
im going to try to revert to an old radio as i don't think this is a hardware failing issue..
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Flash stock firmware with fast boot. If its the same, its a carrier issue....call them to see. Or its hardware failure.
just wanted to post my fix for this issue - very disappointed with Google that i had to do this...my provider is mobilicity canada (3g aws band fyi)
flash krt01b radio from this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2514095
this is *not* a carrier or hardware issue (at least in my case)
seems others are having same issue
https://code.google.com/p/android/i...s Owner Summary Stars&groupby=&sort=&id=70878
Then it is a carrier issue....cause on Telus in Canada....never had an issue with any radio version. ?
telus would have a stronger overall signal but uses AWS band for lte which is different than mobilicitiy 3g aws...
I'm not disagreeing.... Just saying its the carrier....not Google.
See my point?

are you saying mobilicitiy is purposely weakening their cell signal cause they are almost bankrupt ?

Just saying that unless many have the issue with the phone or radio, then its an issue.....if not, it isnt .
So in this case, it leaves hardware or carrier....assuming a stock flash didn't help.
If flashing another radio helps the OP...awesome!! But the new radio does work fine for the mass majority.
Hope it does work for him tho!
