there is this other product for non-blackberry phone that does the same. google for Good Technology. I think they used to call Visto.

Just purchased this device on the advice from the shop that it performs push email. Of course, when I call Customer Services they deny this; SMS text messaging at best. Have I been sold a pup?
push-email? what would that be like? someone writes you a message and you get it instatly as with ICQ without your device checking emails every second?
AFAIK non of the comon email protocols incorporate such a thing. email is a asynchronous way of communication.
you might want to try msn messenger or any other IM instead.. but don't forget you have to be connected to the internet all the time (which of course is a must, if you want to use any ip-based service at all..)
even if your provider (and the phone) supported wap-push (as in WAP 2.0), you'd have to be connected..
AFAIK, SMS is usually the only "connectionless" push-messenger for mobile phones

It can have the Blackberry client installed on it, which is push email, but as far as I know, T-Mob only supply this for corporate users that have a Blackberry server, they don't do the desktop pop/imap client that runs on your PC from what I have been told.
ah, didn't know about that.... but i guess the blackberry has to either still be connected all the time to the internet or the service provider hast do add some new services on his side too?...
maybe your guy at the store mixed it up with the Motorola MPx, which according to a press release will have that feature (using the blackberry technology) ... and the MPx 220 or something like that should have it too..
cheers

I think I remember hearing somewhere that the latest version of MS Exchange can do push e-mail... it works something like the exchange server sends an sms when you get an e-mail and that causes the device (whether it's a XDAIIs or whatever else that is running WM) to connect and download the new e-mail.... never seen it working or anything tho so that could be rubbish...
Perhaps they were simply referring to POP3 through GPRS?? Or maybe just something that they once heard someone say and thought they could repeat to sound knowledgeable!!
Hi All,
Sorry if this sounds a bit dim, or is on the wrong part of the forum (please move is required), but I'm new to Blackberry and need some guidance.
I'm trying to get BBC installed on my Orbit (done), connected to the network (done) and synched with my Blackberry Service (pending) and need your help to understand the implications of what I'm aobut to do:
When I enter my account details on my Orbit and connect it you my companys Blackberry service, will I invalidate my proper Blackberry handheld device and knock it off the network ?
Can I operate both handhelds simultaneously, or is it one or the other only ?
Can corporate Blackberry and private Outlook email accounts (Push or pop) co-exist on a single WM6 device ?
respectfully,
nid
Repost your q to http://crackberry.com/
Cool, I didnt even know that site existed...
I've posted there but no-one seems interested.
Anyone have any ideas ?
Thanks

Answers:
1. YES, it will "knock you other BB off" as in it will not receive emails any more. It will still work as a phone, but not as a BB device for retrieving your email.
2. As implied in answer to #1, the answer is NO, you will only receive email on one of the devices via BB services.
3. YES, BB proper and BBC for WM will let you receive both corporate and personal email accounts to a single phone.
Awesome, thanks a million.
i am wondering if there is any program that can imitate blackberry messenger for ppc. the only think is that i have a ppc (htc touch) n i want to communicate with ppl using blackberry

blackberry connect software allows compatability with the blackberry service, but you do need to have a blackberry plan with your network
can you share with us where to find the application?

BBM messenger Vs Windows Mobile Messenger
when i say windows mobile messenger i dnt mean windows live. there should have already been a program available for windows mobile like the BB messenger. we dnt need to talk to people on BBM just people with the software and blackberry being a smartphone as well as the windows mobile phones both BB and WM people can be able to use the software thus connecting to each other. heres my suggestion>>>>develop a program that can be used on BB and WM as well as other device, that generate an identity code Or pin that BB and WM people can excange with each other thus connecting to every body and BOOM BB WM messenger http://media.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Hey,
I am currently using the mail client on my TD2 with EnergyROM 3.0 but apparently there is no option for a constant send/receive mode. The one I use now is the "every 5min" mode. I have a push mail connection but the "Visto" software provided for it is not very efficient and usefull. So I was wondering which software could enable me using my push mail to receive my mails instantly, like I used to on my blackberry.
Thanks!!

For push mail use Outlook Mobile from Windows.
Works very well with exchange server.
Would shangmail work? I was using that on a bb pearl, maybe there's a winmo port?
To answer my own reply, yes they do a ppc version.
Thanks for the replies. I ended up using Seven on www.seven.com It has a usefull feature like quiettime that lets you configure your device to stop receiving emails, like at night
However I ended up with another problem: How do I delete email accounts on WinMo 6.5?
Before anybody replies that I should be posting this question in a Blackberry forum, let me state that, as far as Blackberry users know (or care), RIM discontinued support on BB Connect, so us WM users are on our own (as usual).
I own a TP2 which is currently using Blackberry Connect with a Blackberry plan (inherited from my previous phone) with two e-mail accounts configured via BIS (not BES). E-mail push works just fine, as it would on any regular Blackberry device. Needless to say that the TP2 accquired a PIN# when it connected to the Blackberry e-mail service.
Now, if I have a BB plan and a PIN# what else do I need to get Blackberry messenger to work? Blackberry messenger is a Java application, so, in theory, it should be possible to run it (or an adapted version of it) on any WM device... Thoughts anyone? Maybe a Java programmer could enlighten us as to what is the missing piece and confirm if it is feasable at all.
Moved as not software release....
