,Hi...1st time on this forum... I have just bought the new o2 xda 2i... having problems already with it.. awaiting my second replacement ..
I have sat nav maps installed but when using it,, the phone keeps locking up,, always having to soft reset... can anyone advise if this is a common problem with this model.. i want to be able to use the phone whilst using satnav..

I also found that the drop down list for rom version and radio.. do not contain my phomes settings??

...strange, I just posted a similar problem.
Are you using TomTom Nav3? What happens with mine is that when I lose the phone signal, the whole device crashes.

Hi... yes I am... I saw your posting after I put mine on... exactly the same problem..the whole thing freezes up and has to be rebooted!! a pain!
I have just started my contract with o2 and phoned them.. they didnt recognise the problem and are sending me a new xda... again!..my third one in a month..but I'm not sure there is anything wrong with the phone/xda... I tried to switch the phone off and ran the mapping softwarare again... worked perfectly!! but no phone...It seemed that when the phone picked up its signal or a call the system locked up...dont kow how to get around it though... was hoping for some answers on this site...

This is a known problem with TomTom 3 - if you call tomtom, then will say they don't support AKU2 yet (TYPICAL!)
O2 know about as do TomTom.... i'm told that tomtom are fixing the problem.

i doubt there will be a fix for this as ttv5 is due out in the next couple of months

seems a little strange as I'm using the Xda IIi with tomtom and have not experienced any problems
What version are you using T3.07T is the latest it is the traffic version but you do not have to enable it

Well.... tried new xda 2i...didnt load o2 stuff from start...re loaded tomtom navigator and eventually got the gps system to work thro' com port 1..( my last posting)... chose corporate setting as recommended ..using pin shown..(0506)... went out to try it before sending back my last ppc...still locks up....freezes,,apparently when phone picks up a fresh signal..presumably from local ariel?....sooooo frustrated. .. so still have to switch to flight mode to use navigator properly...
does anyone elsa have useful suggestions to fix this problem...please :?:

BT tethering with Raphael

Hi..I receivexc my pro about 2 weeks ago and i am very new to this forum. So far I can report good performance of the device..although a bid sluggish sometimes with HSPDA . The keyboard is great even with my big fingers.
Can anybody help me as to how do I connect via BT with my laptop..sort of step by step guide (settings ),my uk network is o2 and desperate to use it as a modem . Thanks

I use it all the time. Your phone comes up as a wireless network that your laptop can connect to. Very simple to use. Never liked bluetooth (apart from headphones). Always seems to be a nightmare.

if you just google htc internet sharing you will find it
ive used it on my 8525 i just forget the setup and its better with usb usually anyway

[Q] GPS Freeze

Hi All,
I got a strange problem regarding the GPS function of the phone.. when I start a program requirering GPS (TomTom, HTC GPSTool, Chartcross GPSTest) the phone freezes after 5-10seconds and I have to pull the battery out.
I did not had this problem 2/3 weeks ago and nothing has changed since than, just normal usage (dropped it once..)
First I thought it was a TomTom problem or just a problem in the Rom..
I use the EnergyRom currently, but after trying 2 different Roms the problem still existed..
Do you think that there is any program/system thing that could cause this or is my GPS antenna broke or something like that.. and if it's so, can it be fixed or am I in deep trouble..

I am having the same issue, I have had my raph for over 12 months now and its been working fine, using eneryrom, and it was working fine with this ROM until the other day...
No need to pull the battery out, I can reset it by the hard ware reset button.
But still sucks I cant use tom tom
Anyone else got any ideas?

Yeah I found that resetting thing out too I received an idea via a P.M. to reflash the radio, this did not help me.. maybe it will help you out!
I can't even use GPS test it freezes up everytime.. so frustrating if you've tried a lot of things but still the problem remains!

I am having the same problem too....i didnt start until 4 days ago...i have changed the radio and rom still same problem....it freezes up on all those including googlemaps

Ive had the same problem as you guys. Once the device gets a lock on gps it will freeze. Ive been using energy roms since the start and just recently its been doing this.
I solved it by switching to a different radio. but for some reason i cannot go back to the radio i was using because it has this problem. hope that helps til an answer can be figured out as to why its doing this.

[Q] Lost WiFi on G2x New phone AND old phone. Use to work !

I am at my wits end with this problem. Here is the chain of events that have transpired. If anyone can make sense of it, please let me know because even tho I am 'some-what' of a smart person, this makes no sense at all to me.
I have had my G2x for over 9 months. Been through all the ROMS, all the updates and never had any trouble with my phone. I even updated to the newest BB 3 weeks ago, and installed HellFire CM7 and CM9 ROMS. (they have BB fix built it... well CM9 version does). I had no issues at all all. My data works fine, and my WiFi has always work fine. I also tried Owain's ROM with full success. Well I dropped my phone and cracked the camera lens. ( The phone still worked and Wifi worked ... only the camera lens was cracked ) T-Mobile sent me a new phone ( The new phone already had new BB on it ). First thing I did was try the new phone with stock ( for the hell of it ). I found out .... NO MATTER what I did, I could not get a WiFi connection to work on my new phone. I have not changed ANY settings on my router at all. The old phone Always worked with this router. Well Even tho this phone sees the router at full strength, it will NOT grab a IP from it. I decided ( for testing purposes ) to turn OFF all security and firewall on router, but still the phone will not pickup a IP from it, it just says authenticating, then says no wifi in range ( even tho the router is 2 feet from me ) Now my 2 tabs and my laptop all pickup IP's just fine and work fine.
Ok ... well ... I said the hell with this, so I put my SIM into my old phone ( which also has new BB and has always worked perfect with this router ! ) Well, now it will not grab an IP from it either !?!?!?!? I did full resets and even ran the batch script from xda forum that erases all partition's and recreates them. Still NO WIFI now on either G2x phone !!!! Again dont forget my tabs all work just fine via wifi, and the router has 25 IP's to offer.
I am 100% lost and very confused. I have 6 days to send a phone back ou get charged $300 !! PLEASE HELP ME with any thoughts you might have !!
My Router is a (Router/Modem combo) and is a ZyXEL Q1000z. I have NO FIREWALL and NO SECURITY atm. And my phone DID WORK with this router 3 days ago !
Please any advice at all ?????

Unexpected problems after updating to MM through Smart Switch

Dear Forum,
My wife acquired the S6 last week and I helped her through the initial stuff of creating backup from her previous S3.
All went fine, all was where it should have been, nothing missing, great stuff.
The "Software Upgrade" utility inmediately tells you that there's an upgrade available to MM and I thought to myself "Well, that phone is from November 2015, the upgrade couldn't harm, in fact, it usually improves things", right ?
My wife asked if there was going to be an issue with the upgrade and if it would be possible to downgrade again....
So, I went to Kies3, which directed me to Smart Switch and I began the upgrade. After it was done I did a factory reset and the phone booted, all ok...so far...
I gave the phone to my wife (an avid Instagrammer) and she told me : this is not working, what have you done to my phone ? The nightmare begins for me...
1. Apparently the wifi signal was quite poor (even if sitting in front of the router). It takes some time to connect, which means that pages like Instagram, tumblr, facebook, even searches in Chrome take an eternity to load ! It didn't happen on version 5.1 apparently on her S6 (which I doubt) , and on her S3 it worked flawlessly. I have to say though that I experience the same issue on my current Z9 Max. I believe that the router (Glass Fiber connection) is quite old and not up to new standards, that's why it hangs with new phones. I only have wifi issues at home, any other router I connect to (Bars, brother home, mother home, at work) work perfectly fine. I will change the router as soon as I can, but I firmly believe it has to do with new hardware the router is not used to.
2. Mobile Data
They did not work at all... The look on my wife's face said it all "What the Eff have you done to my fresh new phone" ??? I'm asking this to myself also now...why did I upgrade this thing ? In the end I managed to get mobile data, simply by trying 3G, 2G, individual options and finally 4G worked again. But yeah, what do you do at home with a smartphone if you don't have an internet connection ?
Why did Samsung push-out this upgrade, why are they forcing messages onto the user that an upgrade is needed ? I mean, I've been using Android for quite some time and I've flashed many many Roms, installed software upgrades, I never ever faced any issue on my HTC or Nubia, all worked fine after an upgrade, at least mobile data were working always. Samsung is supposed to deliver top notch phones with top notch upgrades...how can they possibly offer/push something that might cause more trouble than joy ?
I assume a FW upgrade is needed as well, why don't they warn ?
Now the question.... if 5.1 worked fine, is there any possibility to downgrade the S6 to a previous Android version ? Would it be possible with Odin ?
I got an angry wife sitting at home , which is convinced that I only wanted to play around and didn't want to help her.
Have you guys experienced problems after upgrade to MM on the S6 ?
