Adobe Flash 10.1 beta SignUps!!
We've waited so long and finally some progress on this. Adobe opened sign ups for Flash 10.1 and Air 2.0.
Flash 10.1 and Air 2.0
You can now sign up to be notified when the first public betas of both Flash Player 10.1 and Adobe AIR 2.0 are available. We just started the private betas and we are really looking forward to getting these technologies into your hands as soon as possible. There are going to be so many interesting things that you will be able to do on Android and there are also going to be many new skills that you will need to learn, especially if you are new to mobile design. One thing that will help you tremendously is to learn more about optimizing content for mobile devices. There are separate sign-up pages for Flash Player 10.1 and Adobe AIR 2.0 so go on over and get registered. Unfortunately I can’t give any information about the specific dates for the betas.

I think because they are easy to code.
Fortunately I have read the Google faq and the question of apps flooding the market is asked.
This is the answer:
Currently there are technical limitations to being able to upload an App Inventor app to the Andorid Market but we are actively evaluating the best way to integrate with the Market.

Download the source from Google App inventor and find the code that gets detected and change it around a bit.
Thats how most things get past detection.
HOWEVER, I will not do this of course, I am going to use App inventor for personal apps or publish it out of the market.
I have a strange thing how I learn programming, I tend to learn more from examples of code and I have learned LUA(For Gmod) and PAWN(for AMXX) but those are scripting languages.
Some App inventor apps might be worth to be on the market.
There is already lots of messy apps out there but the rating system takes care of that.
I got my invite Monday but haven't got around to trying it out yet, but i don't think you'll be able to make complex apps with this i might take a look at it next week if i get a chance i'll let ya'll know if its really game changing or not .
Hey guys. I think everyone is aware by now that I'm preparing to launch Android4Autism. As far as ROM development goes, I think I have the basic structure down for the Epic. I haven't yet worked on anything else, device-wise.
Anyway, this ROM is based on EE05 Froyo and is along the lines of the BYOR Editions previously released under the midNIGHT ROM banner. I have some ideas and a beta currently in place but I still ironing out the final feature set. My goal is to provide future upgrades if at all possible as well.
I will be in need of testers (preferably with young kids) for the Actual ROM itself and feedback on the following:
1) Apps that should be available (keeping in mind this is for a special needs child)
2) Suggestions for FREE children's software from the Market.
3) I'm thinking of replacing the Samsung "splash screen" with a picture of the child receiving the device along with emergency contact information. Thoughts?
Anyway, I will try to get this up in the next day or so. I have spoken with Fede from LauncherPro and was given permission to use that as the devices launcher. I choose LauncherPro because it can easily be customized by the parents and it allows for the hiding of icons like the dialer for example. So thanks to Fede and the team over at LauncherPro for their support.
For the latest updates you can follow me on twitter @Android4Autism
Also on Facebook at Android4Autism
The main site is under construction as is the Facebook page but I am making progress. Baby steps.....right.
Please remember to consider donating your old devices....NOT YET.. Just hang onto them for the time being.
Thanks Everyone....
UPDATE:
The Android4Autism v1 ROM for the Epic is up on the Development Page.
THIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. This ROM is a test ROM based on midNIGHT ROM v5.3 EC05.
This ROM is designed for children with Autism. While it will function basically the same as a BYOR Edition it comes with children's apps preinstalled.
I'm interested in how your children can utilize this. I have had a few revisions of this ROM already. In previous revisions I had launcherpro preconfigured to hide all the apps but the kids ones. However, for some reason the apps couldn't be unhidden. So when these devices ship out the extra apps will be hidden.
This is a stable ROM.
In the final build the following will change:
journaling turned on.
The wallpaper will change
more kids and Autism friendly apps
PLease let me know what you guys think.
Reserved........
Thank you rob!

Thank this mans children for his inspiration to mod/develop roms.
Awesome idea Rob. My sister-in-law was asking if I knew of something she could put on (besides toddler lock) and let her kid have at her phone.
Something like this could get a LOT of interest beyond Autism. Perhaps raising money for it in the process?
Thanks everyone for all the feedback so far.
Rob,
I would be interested in beta testing for you. Would you be willing to email me at [email protected] with some details.

Hands down brilliant. Let me know if I can help test etc. Already liked on FB and have several friends to mention this to.
While reading the description the "splash screen" bullet sparked an idea. When a phone is locked it will allow emergency calls. What if this was altered to provide quick instructions for any third party and also allow a "call" tab to include parent and local emergency? This would allow anyone to pick up the phone and know what to do vs searching for a contact number and guessing. My son has a wallet card indicating that he has AS and it describes what he may be acting like, what to do, what not to do and who to call. This has worked out well but sometimes he it too far into an episode to remember the card or anything else besides the cause of the episode.

Hi, I'm Yelamos, the community manager from ARlab, a company that has been recently involved in augmented reality. Up to now, we have published two SDKs for Android and iOS (ARBrowser SDK and Image Matching (markerless based) SDK). Following our easy API you will able to integrate Augmented Reality technology in your mobile application in few time. We just opened our beta program so we encourage any mobile developer interested to join us.
Here below you can check out a couple of Youtube videos showing some of the SDKs capabilities:
https://vimeo.com/channels/elipsear/43812943
https://vimeo.com/channels/elipsear/43245652
Here you have access to the documentation, API, sample codes and tutorials:
Documentation
Also if you want to see more of what we're doing you can check out our Facebook page. Hit the like button, make us see if you're getting involved, we'll appreciate it!
Furthermore if you have any questions, feedback or any kind of request do not hesitate to ask.
UPDATE: We have just released a sample app for you guys to check out, BoxOffice, which uses the Image Matching SDK, here is the thread talking about the app.
UPDATE: We have released another app! Trailer Catcher! We encourage you guys to go and take a look!
UPDATE: I don't know if you guys know about this, but just in case you don't, we released an AR game a week ago, and here's the link: BombAR!
ANOTHER UPDATE: we have just released another of our open source apps: ARPicBrowser
In this open source application, we have used the API provided by Panoramio, with which we are able to get pictures – that have GPS coordinates – and place them on the device, according to our location and also the place the mobile device is pointing to. It has a few more features that are fully explain in its own forum thread.
UPDATE: This week we're proud to present linkAR! the social network for AR devs!
UPDATE: We released the 3D engine SDK. It's out as a beta! check it out HERE

Ok, so basically we have just released the beta versions of two of our products. We offer to developers a whole set of Augmented Reality tools, including these ARBrowser and Markerless-based Image matching SDKs.
The first of them is the AR browser:
This is basically an Augmented Reality geolocation-based browser in which you are able to add Points of Interest (POIs) with customizable information and actions. With this Augmented Reality view you are able to see in your camera device the POIs defined layered over your screen, and to launch any customizable event when the user clicks this POI.
So imagine that you live in Paris, and that you're standing right next to the famous Eiffel Tower. You can, by using the AR browser add a marker that, for example allows you to, once you click it, instantly display a video of how it was built, or re-direct you to the wikipage of the Eiffel Tower.
The second available SDK, is the known as Markerless-Based Image Matching, which with the user of this technology is able to recognize an image and also launch an event once it is recognize.
You can check the features of each one of these Beta Versions in the following links:
ARBrowser
ARImage Matching
If you have any further questions i'm happy to answer them! ^_^

The game runs on the Adobe Air platform. I know because it prompted me to download Adobe Air since I didn't have it.
I am a ROM Developer for 4 Devices and I am only 15 years old !! I also run all the builds ALONE !!
Well done for creating apps, however what really is the point of this thread? it does seem to me like you just trying to get your post count up
Nice work, starting so young! I was writing code when I was your age as well, although they were BASIC and C games running on my Apple II and PC XT clone....with 320x200 4-color/2-bit CGA graphics. Programming can be great fun, just don't forget to go play outside.
I'd suggest making tree jump work in a landscape orientation, in order to give the player the ability to see farther ahead.
There's always going to be someone younger, don't worry about it. But watch out for making claims about being the world's youngest. In any case, that's impressive work for age 11.
Neat work coming from an 11 year old. Also not a bad way to get them downloads

Now is simple to have all information that you need to develop apps. When i was 12, i read for the first time how to program games for J2ME, but i did not have the concept how to program. However, my first program was in Visual Basic at 15 years old at school, on the books and without internet because 10 years ago internet was a luxury in Italy. Now is a great time to lear how to program because internet has all information that you need for all.
Nice that you are writting an Android app in your age. But honestly how can you be sure you are the youngest in Europe. But nevermind
But seriously do you want an answer to your post. I'm coding already double the time you are old. So I give you a tip: become 14-16, go out and meet a nice girl:laugh: and make other things. Because I have the feeling you are already obsessed. And this is the wrong way
Go out and have some fun with your friends man.. Being obsessed by these things at such a young age can cost you valuable future friendships
